Reviews for Domaine De Chôdes

Review 1:The 'holiday park' itself is in a state of complete disrepair. The entrance is closed off with barriers - there is no reception (the roof has fallen in and its all boarded up!) the grounds are very un-kept with weeds over 2ft high in most places, including the entrance path to our chalet. The swimming pool has been drained and is full of weeds/deckchairs etc. Other cabins are all boarded up - some with broken windows. It really is such a shame as it could be the most beautiful place set in the rolling countryside, however the reality is at the moment it is a place to avoid. There are also additional costs for bed-linen and electricity - another cost to bear in mind when booking!

Review 2:The individual cabin once we were inside was more than acceptable - newly fitted out and clean.

Review 3:Be prepared for very small bedrooms and one bathroom but for three days it was fine.

Review 4:Its location. We had a refurbised chalet. Very modern and clean. No oven. Would have liked a Bbq. Big fridge. Would use again.

Review 5:The property advertised on your website did not in anyway reflect that this was a totally run down facility which had previously gone into administration. your website advertises a restaurant and pool - the restaurant doesn't exist and the pool is empty and in urgent need of restoration. Had it not been for the fact that overall it is a lovely area we would never have considered staying. In addition to all of the above the cost was hugely expensive and grossly overpriced!!!!!!! for what we got.

Review 6:Whilst we were allocated a refurbished chalet which we found to be extremely nice, well equipped and comfortable which met our requirements the external area surrounding the chalet and overall run down appearance of other chalets was very poor and disappointing.

Review 7:The house stood in the surrounding of a holiday house park and was one of the rare houses that was renovated. Most others were in renovation or even just old and rotten.

Review 8:The landscape and view were super, the house itself was good, too. Not too clean, though.

Review 9:Have stayed for number of years and for access to Malmedy and Spa-Francorchamps race track is ideal. Chalets clean but remainder of site appears derelict and abandoned. I think a newcomer might turn round and drive away.

Review 10:The property description on their booking.com and their website is not just fanciful, it's nothing short of scandalous . For 'Reception with restaurant and Bar' expect a building with roof caving in and boarded up windows. The ' Swimming Pool' is empty and full of old deckchairs. It's a shame, I understand renovations were taking place last year and they may have stopped temporarily but it needs to be made clear they whilst the chalets which are renovated are very good, the rest of the place is 'work in progress' . Malmedy is an upmarket village, the chalets sit in a nice wooded area. The main buildings either need quickly revamping or knocking down.

Review 11:The chalet was clean and located in a heavily forested area . It had 3 bedrooms and a good quality modern bathroom with shower. Kitchen modern and well equipped, lounge comfortable and good TV and leather sofas. The chalet was fine... But read on!

Review 12:The comment from the owners at the end. Despite the fact that we cleaned the house every day and as well at the end , they told us that they had to clean 3 hours ! Also the invoice for electricity ( 136 kw for 4 days is not realistic - I call this theft !) Take care and take pictures when arriving and when leaving !

Review 13:Beautiful environment in the woods, acceptable comfort .

Review 14:Only a small niggle - the kitchen didn't have an oven, but we managed with the hob and microwave instead. And all other appliances you'd expect were present plus some you wouldn't - kettle, toaster, dishwasher and even a coffee maker!

Review 15:These well equipped cabins are set in a beautiful peaceful location, tucked away on a hill amongst the woods. Yet it was only a short drive from a small town well supplied with supermarkets, restaurants, petrol stations etc. We actually stayed here for the F1 at Spa, and the location was ideal - far enough away from the mayhem yet easy to reach the circuit from here. The lady on Reception was extremely helpful and accommodating when we arrived late due to traffic delays. We'll definitely be back.

Review 16:There are parts of the site that are fairly run down

Review 17:The chalets were very well equipped, hob, microwave, dish washer, wood burner, tv etc. Fantastic views over the valley. Great value for money. 15 minutes to Spa Francorchamps and plenty of parking for a car and trailer should you be towing your track car.

Review 18:Nothing not to like. If you go there understanding that it IS in the middle of a massive refurb you wont be disapointed

Review 19:On arrival the Parc looked desolate and run down but it is in the throws of a total makeover and the Chalets that we stayed in, that have been completed were fabulous for self catered accomodation. Everything was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, sofa. A wood burner in the lounge. The shower never ran out of hot water and had brilliant pressure behind it. Masses of crockery and cutlery not just enough to manage.

Review 20:No staff around at all. The place almost looks abandoned! Some chalets have been refurbished, whilst others are dilapidated and the grounds look very run down.

Review 21:Good value for money, and location is in the countryside with nice views. The refurbished chalets we stayed in were nice.

Review 22:Inside the house is always very clean but they do not help themselves by sorting out the rest of the estate. The main entrance road looks abandoned.

Review 23:We have stayed at here for a number of years - before and after their recent renovations. We are out all day every day so the basic nature of the place does not worry us - the price cannot be beaten. The reception lady went out of her way to check us in out of their normal hours.

Review 24:Miriam the owner was very helpful and even arranged lifts to the race circuit each day which was very useful .

Review 25:The property was in a poor state of repair was damp and had a cockroach in the bathroom

Review 26:Good location

Review 27:I small pillow for the bed and site needs a bit of TLC

Review 28:Location was great and perfect for a group of friends especially when visiting SPA circuit

Review 29:Grass and outside area could be better kept

Review 30:Very good facilities Friendly staff Eco-friendly

Review 31:Myriam the receptionist was amazing, nothing was too much trouble
