Reviews for Lancaster Host Resort and Conference Center
Review 1:You name it the bed the tv the furniture. I think it was 98 percent vacant . I should've known when I was the only car in the parking lot
Review 2:For the money this place was disgusting . I payed 80 and it was 35 percent off. Unbelievable, I would never stay there again. How can this be a 2.9 rating when I did all sad faces. It should be a 0
Review 3:There needs to be some serious update to the facility. There is only one elevator and it only goes to the 3rd floor. We were put in a 5th floor room that meant we had to go up 2 flights of steps and down a hall to get to our room. Since the hotel was almost empty, we requested a lower level room and were given a room on the 4th level. We still had to go up a flight of stairs but the room was much closer to the side entrance. The entrance steps leading into hotel was damaged and had some tape to indicate this but the location was in the center of the steps and not easy to avoid.
Review 4:The room darker was one of the best ones that we have had.
Review 5:Indoor pool was not swimable, too cold. Rooms need to be renovated, hallway ceiling tiles are all water stained. Only lukewarm water for the shower.
Review 6:Lobby is well done
Review 7:The motel was "shop worn" in need of repair of door locks, fire-rated doors to comply with the fire prevention code, and a thorough cleaning.
Review 8:Great hostess at the desk.
Review 9:Peeling paint in the bathroom sink, the phone in our room did not work, maintenance had to fix the dead bolt lock on our door.
Review 10:The door in our room that led to the pool area. The location was very close to the outlets and other stores.
Review 11:No roll away crib only a pack and play. I'd rather have a crib so my baby wasn't so close to the floor on cold nights.no fridge or microwave to keep bottles cold or to heat bottles for the baby.
Review 12:The hotel is run down - was a very nice hotel years ago - sink was cracked, bathtub was peeling just didn't feel so clean - will not recommend or go there again - Thanks
Review 13:It was pretty bad. From the outside where the carpet was all ripped and dirty on the steps and the inside was not a lot better. Carpet was not clean. Bathroom was disgraceful from the cracked sink to the tub that had been spot painted to the damp towels. No continental breakfast. Breakfast would have cost us $11.99 each. My husband went to WaWa and bought us breakfast for 2 for about $8.oo. We were very disappointed in the condition of this once lovely hotel. Golf course was not good. One hole was closed.
Review 14:The lady at the desk was very professional and very helpful. I believe her name was Evette. They did end up giving us a discount because of the conditions we experienced.
Review 15:the resturant was closed for renovations. We heard that was closed and waiting of township approval. All meals were outside of hotel. Being able to have breakfast at your hotel is mandatory .
Review 16:Location was great. Lancaster and surrounding towns are lovely
Review 17:It seems way overpriced for an outdated hotel. Carpets are old, big box tv...the room isn't the worst, but it sure could use a little tlc.
Review 18:Location. This strip doesn't have a modern hotel so it's add good as it gets. Although the holiday inn down the road ato the outlets is probably the best option outside of B&Bs.
Review 19:The shower was terrible. There was no water pressure and the water just dripped. The pillows were terrible, they were all lumpy.
Review 20:The food was good at the restaurant.
Review 21:Rooms seriously need to be upgraded & there was no hot water, leaks in bathroom..just not good
Review 22:The only good thing was the front desk staff was very nice & accommodating..lobby very nice & location was good...close to amusement park, etc
Review 23:Right off let me say it is clean but dated. The wifi is terri le, no refridgerator no microwave, pool is nice but has broken fountain that attracts kids but results in them being yelled at. The staff is very nice. The grounds are pretty and there is no problem with sitting out for a casual rvening of games etc
Review 24:The casulal atmosphere and proximity to local amusements.
Review 25:The facility appeard to be old and run down. The decor was gloomy and the carpets dirty and worn. The bathroom was old and rusty and the dresser drawers did not close. Ceiling tiles water damaged.
Review 26:The beds were comfortable and it was close to the outlets and sight and sound
Review 27:Not one working ice machine in the building!
Review 28:We were there for a dance competition. Staying at the same hotel as the competition was very Convenient ... Pool, bar, restaurant all right there we had no need to leave the building
Review 29:Indoor pool area was outdated and extremely warm but then again it was advertised as a heated pool but overall a great stay
Review 30:I absolutely loved the location
Review 31:Hotel was rundown, not much in the way of amenities in room such as mini fridge. Faucet in bathroom falling off. No ice bucket in room and no ice in machine. Would stay somewhere else next time.
Review 32:Hotel was close to the park and outlets
Review 33:Duct tape holding carpet together. The room in desperate need of updates. Looks like they have never replaced or fixed anything I. The room or hallways!
Review 34:Staff was nice
Review 35:Sad, sad bathroom. Sink knob was not tight, toilet and walls looked worn out. The room looked very nice, bathroom belonged in another hotel...also, receptionist was on the phone when I checked in, that irked me.
Review 36:Clean, very large lobby, convenient bar, game room, indoor pool and fitness center
Review 37:Very old and out dated. Ice machine was broke. No one answers the front desk phone. I walked to the front desk and 4 people are standing around talking.
Review 38:Close to an outlet.
Review 39:The room we were assigned was atrocious! The bathroom was literallyfalling apart. Also, it takes a masters degree to work the television.
Review 40:The close proximity to the american music theater is a plus.
Review 41:There are no elevators. When I asked where the elevator was she explained they had bi-level floors so there weren't any, which may be true of the lobby area, but at our entrance "B" There were at least 14 steps. We had to carry everything up & down the steps while trying to use the key card to get into the stairwell & our room. The rugs were filthy & worn!! The WiFi was speratic at best. NO HBO or premium channels, you could pay a fortune to watch a movie however if you chose. It was an old fashioned tube TV with no frills at all. The bed was clean, however very lumpy & uncomfortable. There was an inside pool the I was thrilled about until: 1) I realized you had to walk thru the front lobby past all the guests checking in, the convention/conference people walking around & the people at the bar. 2) The water was freezing & was not heated. We scheduled time out of our day to go swimming, so we missed out on other activities we could have been doing instead of wasting time traveling back to the hotel early & getting dressed/undressed to go swimming. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room & the ice machine was on another floor. The alarm clock did not work, it read 8:39 the entire length of our stay. There were buckets in the hallway to collect leaking water. The staff were great! You would never guess the hotel was a dump by the way the staff treated you. If I went on staff experience alone I would have thought I was in a 5 star hotel. Good Luck!
Review 42:The staff was super friendly & professional! If it wasn't for the staff we would have checked out as soon as we started having issues. They we super accommodating and addressed every issue we had whether they could help or not. The bed was clean.
Review 43:Room was quite dated, bathtub / shower did not drain. (Room B204). Friends in other room (booked through hotel) were much nicer / renovated
Review 44:Hotel was fine, friendly staff etc.
Review 45:No elevators...had to use stairs wig luggage to get to our room. The bathroom was very old with cracks everywhere. The towels had stains. Would not go back and would not recommend.
Review 46:Location
Review 47:dirty carpet, could control temperature, ice machine broken, adjoining door wouldn't lock, asked to be moved and looked at 3 other rooms that were awful.
Review 48:Personnel was very polite
Review 49:We.ordered two Coors light drafts at the hotel bar. It seemed as if there was something wrong with the tap because the beer was pouring out slowly. The beer tasted a little funny so I returned both glasses to the bartender. All he said was "sorry" and took the glasses away. He never asked me if we wanted anything else or offered me my money back.
Review 50:The fact that there are no rooms available during the month of January or February.
Review 51:Good and efficient front desk service, amazing pool, great exercise room. Traveled with children so I was glad that they also had a game room. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 52:Horrible hotel rooms. Had first room changed to a new one and still just as bad. Phone did not work, door kept jamming, loud guests around us, no hot water, stains all over floor and walls, list goes on. The bar and restraunt were nice. Front entrance/lobby is nice. It really gives a false idea of what to expect for the actual room.
Review 53:Excellent staff! Despite all of the horrible things, the staff was amazing in helping the best they could. They were not suprised by all of my complaints about the room issues.
Review 54:This hotel is awful! If I was not financially committed to this hotel, I would have left the second i arrive. Besides the fact that the condition of the hotel is terrible, there was a pipe burst and water had soaked all the carpets. They tried to fan them out, but it smelled foul.
Review 55:Room was right by door so we were waking up at 3AM to people coming in. Bathroom and room need updating.
Review 56:Friendly staff. Good location. Plenty of parking. Everything in room worked properly.
Review 57:It was a bit outdated. Tube TV's and the remote did not work. The walls seemed very thin. We could hear the neighbors talking and blow drying their hair.
Review 58:It was a very nice hotel. I was impressed with the 'kidzone' and other facilities (pool, arcade, gym, etc)
Review 59:Everything was horrible. The room was dirty and stunk. Asked for a crib for my baby and hot a dirty pack n play with only one thin sheet on the bottom. Beds were uncomfortable and the staff was slow. Thank god it was for only one night. Never again!
Review 60:Only thing nice about the whole place was the lobby.
Review 61:The paint in our bathtub was chipping and the faucet in the sink was broken, so you had to fidget with it to get warm and hot water. There is no elevator and it was a challenge to get our luggage upstair. The lobby is beautiful and looks fairly new, but the rest of the hotel including the hallway to the rooms is aweful. The ceiling tiles are stained and the carpet is ripping. There are large holes in parts of the parking lot. It would be a nice place if they did some renovations.
Review 62:The room was very clean and there was a nice play area for children.
Review 63:The hotel/resort clearly is pretty old (50's? 60's?) and could use a complete update. Our bathtub had been painted and was losing its paint in many places. The arms of the toilet paper holder had years (if not decades) worth of, er, stuff, accumulated on them. Carpet throughout the hotel needed replacement.
Review 64:Centrally located, staff made an effort to be friendly and provide good service. The front desk attendant gave us free breakfast at check in. Our 12 year old son loved the game room and indoor pool.
Review 65:hotel hasn't been upgraded since it was built. Rooms were dark & dingy. 1st room the toilet wouldn't flush - moved us to another room - bathroom was old - tub had blue stains jn it, sink had 3 major cracks in the bowl, there was mold & mildew where the tub & floor met.
Review 66:outside grounds were great - lobby was nice - personnel were polite & courteous.
Review 67:Free WiFi for only 15 min...after that it is .20 cents a minute. No refrigerator in rooms.
Review 68:Location is perfect! It's by everything!! The hotel was very nice...nothing extravagant about the room itself...but clean & comfy!
Review 69:Pool was cold and dirty. Room was out of date, cracked walls, old beds. Maid service was very rude. Bed smelled like smoke. No place to eat there and nothing for the kids. Would not recommend. Front desk staff was not accommodating. Just keep looking.
Review 70:The room had nice pillows.
Review 71:The walls are paper thin, you can hear every little noise going on outside your door. That is the only thing I didn't like.
Review 72:Very nice, clean place to stay.
Review 73:Housekeeping has slipped here, nothing major but I feel the staff are not all very well trained. There is a marked difference between those who are and those who are not.We stayed a week and on one occasion no hand towels for 2 days and no bath mat for 3 after using the one's we had for 2 days. Not replacing drink cups and not making up the bed correctly. I realize I'm knitpicking here but they are the little things that annoy. Having no ice in the machine all week didn't bother us, we walked down to the next floor.
Review 74:liked the property location, however it has become really busy traffic wise. Traffic lights are in the process of being placed at the front of the property. We have stayed at this hotel before. The staff are very nice and very helpful. Public areas are really nice and comfortable.
Review 75:Rooms are to far from the lobby. There was no hot water & the shower did not work....at all. When we reported this, at the desk, they were very accommodating .
Review 76:The people were extremely helpful but the hotel itself needs lots of work.
Review 77:Contstruction in immediate area. This hotel is like going back in time and seriously needs to upgrade EVERYTHING. From extremely worn carpet to hard water stained bath/shower fixtures.
Review 78:Entrance into a grand lobby. But this is all this place has to offer. 90 degrees with extreme humidity and their outdoor pool was completely drained 4 days before we arrived. Indoor pool garbage. Sauna broken and uncared for.
Review 79:Front entrance needs attention: both roadside and interior Carpet needs cleaning badly
Review 80:Staff at front desk very friendly Convenient location Breakfast vouchers (didn't know about them until we saw others using them) Beds: slept well maids
Review 81:Let's see. There's so much to write! No refrigerator in the room. Was charged $25 and they bought it in to the room by dragging it in by the cord. Dog food in the hallways. Calcium build up on the shower head. Had to clean shower head so the water would even come out. Staff was rude and didn't answer the phones. Tried to cancel and they sucked their teeth at me. The hotel needs major upgrading and there is no elevator so I had to carry all of my kid's stuff up the stairs. The layout of the hotel is terrible. Poor lighting conditions in the hallway. The bed sheets stunk like musk. Will NEVER stay there not even if the room is FREE! And the WIFI signal was basically non existent. they said they would send an engineer to the room and he/she never showed up. And breakfast was cold.
Review 82:NOTHING!
Review 83:Sadly, the hotel was experiencing water problems, and we weren't told until after we checked in.It would have been a hassle to find another hotel.
Review 84:Room service was nice.
Review 85:We didn't like the room quality. Very disappointing and not worth the money we spent.
Review 86:Despite the poor room quality they were very helpful and gave us a free room upgrade and complimentary wine.
Review 87:Great location and golf course but the room was old fixtures, dirty, blanket felt like a piece of rubber, bedspread had holes in it,T.V. Would not work by remote, sink cracked and leaking, shower very little water pressure and yet the cost was higher than most in the area.
Review 88:There is no elevator or ramps, you must pull your bags up the stairs The hallway ceilings were water marked& brown. Bathroom needed a makeover. Would not stay there again.
Review 89:They are ideally located, close to everything we wanted to do. Front desk staff were very nice.
Review 90:Rooms were very outdated and the bathrooms needed major attention. The indoor pool was older and very cold. Not one ice machine worked. We had to go to the front desk for ice, very inconvenient. I stayed at the Host several years ago and it is definitely not the same as then. Very old and out-dated.
Review 91:Our little ones loved the Kid Zone
Review 92:The rooms and beds really, really need to be updated and made over. really need more working outlets in the room. Didn't like the extra $25.00 charge for the little fridge in the room. Also none of the washer and dryers were in working condition which we really needed because one of the children got sick.I also think check in could be changed to 3:00 as most other hotel do.
Review 93:I liked the Location to Dutch Wonderland and other attractions. The staff was nice, the bartender, the wait staff in the restaurant and the food were excellant. The comedy club stitches was great and an added very nice feature. Nice that they have indoor and outdoor pools. The children and the adults both loved the play room and game room.
Review 94:Room needs some updating. Sink cracked all around drain. Bathtub very worn. Toilet needed extra care to flush. Outdoor balcony looked as if never swept. Furniture there also needed cleaning.
Review 95:Beautiful lobby and grounds, including great outdoor pool. Very nice indoor playroom and arcade for children.
Review 96:Needed to be renovated 20 years ago. Was dingy. No fresh paint anywhere. Carpets stained everywhere. Run down. No hot water because the boiler wasn't working properly..etc. horrible experience.
Review 97:The location
Review 98:The room smelled musty. We had to buy air fresheners. The ice machines didn't work. The staff told use we had to call the desk for ice to be delivered to the room. Called the desk 5 times with no answer. Had to buy a bag of ice for our cooler. The rooms need to be updated if this hotel wants to compete with the other hotels. Will not be returning. Saw many other nicer hotels in the area.
Review 99:Hotel was empty
Review 100:No wait time for check in
Review 101:No air
Review 102:Nice staff
Review 103:Ice machinces were out of service. Had to go to front desk for ice.
Review 104:Rooms were clean and smelled nice. The staff was very accomodating.
Review 105:N/a
Review 106:Very easy checking in and out. Loved having a private entrance!
Review 107:Needs a lot of work ! dirty carpets, broken porcelain tubs.
Review 108:Could not get adequate hot water. Light bulbs burned out. Leaking ceiling in hallway. No refrigerator. Would not come back.
Review 109:Almost everything
Review 110:not much
Review 111:The water in the shower didn't get hot enough
Review 112:How nice and friendly the staff was, also how clean the rooms were !
Review 113:How the property is not being kept up. I know that it is not the people working tbere, but the owners
Review 114:The people!
Review 115:the whole room needed to be upgraded down to the carpet looked dirty.
Review 116:nothing
Review 117:The building was dirty and in disrepair doesn't look like any maintenance has been done for years needs a complete makeover.
Review 118:Best coffee of my entire vacation !
Review 119:The water was cold in the hotel room, the pool had a leak and there was no swimming, no one ever refilled the breakfast bar.
Review 120:The location.
Review 121:Tub dirty air conditioner not cool vent in bath room not working charged 20.00 more then qoated
Review 122:Relaxing on the deck overlooking the pool
Review 123:The seating area was waaayyyy.... Too HOT!,,
Review 124:Both days when we has gone down for breakfast, they ran out of waffle mix and syrup!
Review 125:There was no ice machines. No microwave or refrigerator. Poor conditions for a hotel. Had to call front desk for ice. I will never go there again
Review 126:All the rooms need to be upgraded.
Review 127:The staff were very professional.
Review 128:the cob webs in the corner
Review 129:The pools, great location, loved the kids zone.
Review 130:all the rooms nearby had been trashed It made us feel a little disturbed Room along distance from facilities,,, had to drive !!

Review 133:Exit doors did not lock at nite. Carpet in areas worn.
Review 134:Great ease location.
Review 135:Appearance of hotel, bath rooms were not in great shape, lighting through halls was very dim.
Review 136:Hospitality
