Reviews for Aurora Fox Valley Inn
Review 1:Front desk attendant was too busy to be friendly. AC couldn't keep up, despite being only 83 degrees outside. Beds & bedding are very cheap and uncomfortable. Bathroom is so tight only one person can get in at a time and if your on the toilet can't open/close door. No water pressure or hot water.
Review 2:Price, location, Papa Bear's Restaurant is the real attraction.
Review 3:I came to visit friends but was told I could not have any guest at the hotel also I stayed for two nights second day sheets were not changed never got clean towels after being told the maid was bringing them. Beds very uncomfortable
Review 4:The pool was nice and clean but the outside of the hotel looked very ruff
Review 5:Front desk person was rude at checkin and seemed unapproachable behind the screen thingy at reception. Ice machine was not working or empty?
Review 6:Spacious room with lots of counter space and electrical outlets. Shower was hot and strong flow.
Review 7:I was shocked of the overall condition of the property. The grounds are not inviting. I expected more based on the proximity to the Chicago Premium Outlet mall.
Review 8:That I survived the stay.
Review 9:Everything else. We checked I'm and the halls smelled of moldy cigarette smoke and we literally spent 5 minutes in the room and booked a new hotel. You could hear peoole next door plan as day, the wall paper was peeling, the beds were uncomfortable, the bedding was not good fabric and outdated. We were there for about 15 to 20 minutes total and we still had to pay for atleast one full night. Even tho out experience there was horrible except for the front desk lady
Review 10:Affordable and the front desk clerk was nice.
Review 11:Front desk person was rude, place had sketchy people loitering around. The whole place smelled like smoke and sheets had cigarette burns all over it.
Review 12:Price was good
Review 13:The cashier behind glass was a little off putting but my stay was fine. I had to wait behind another guest taking forever to check in. Got woken up at 6 am by a loud truck outside our window.
Review 14:The room was nice, spacious and extremely clean while being close to food options. The front desk lady was kind, if a little talkative.
Review 15:Tammie at the lobby desk is a refreshing extension of this organization. She is very accommodating, very patient, and extremely HELPFUL. Rare nowadays to receive this level of customer service. Thank you Tammie!
Review 16:Some hotels will call a cab for you. This one doesn't.
Review 17:Reasonable price.Guest only lounge on premises.Really good family style restaurant nearby.Coffee in the morning. Good check in.
Review 18:The desk clerk and the assistant manager were rude and argumentative. There was major water damage from the room above into the bathroom of the room I paid for, and they refused to relocate to an undamaged room. Their solution, and I quote "if you are unhappy with your room you can leave and we will refund your money" were there empty rooms available? Yes, several. They have no respect for their customers.
Review 19:The cost was low
Review 20:The room smelled bad, beds were just ok, bathroom was hideous (rusty shower head, rusty sink, chipped counters, floors were dirty, had not been maintained well) Electrical outlets were damaged and probably a fire hazard. Chain lock on door was broken. Decor was out of the 70's.
Review 21:I thought the lady at the check-in desk was very nice.
Review 22:Room, common areas(lobby, hallways, etc.) were dirty, almost to the pointof disgusting. Wifi worked intermittently, had to play with the toileteverytime you wanted to flush, carpet scruched up in spots, stains onthe walls. Personally I will never stay there again. There were alot ofunkempt people coming in and out and walking around the halls. I am notrich by any means but for another $20 or so, stay at a nice clean place!
Review 23:Not much of anything to say here.
Review 24:Stayed 2days rm 203 on feb 14th & 15th,2015. First day i woke up with a few red bumps that itches, wasn't sure what it was. Second day woke up with large bites all over my head, neck, back, arms, and hips!! Very red swollen and painfully itchy!! Never stay here again!!!
Review 25:Terrible tv reception!!!!!in every room!!!old out dated tv's!!! Maids come knocking and enter rooms early morning before check out!! Very inappropriate!!!
Review 26:There was an unclean smell throughout the hotel inside and outside of the room, the bed was very uncomfortable, flattened pillows and the shower head was pretty disgusting, but it served its purpose for one day.
Review 27:I was happy to find no bugs in the room and we were located right across the street from the mall and close to other shops.
Review 28:Bed felt like a rock, pillows were so worn out they felt even harder. Our shower curtain had black mold on the bottom of it. The first night we were they we tried to ask for more towels but they did not have any more.
Review 29:This place has gang and prostitution going on inside and out. The property looks like a dump with trash and comdums in the parking lot. The rooms smells bad and not very clean.
Review 30:Not a thing.
Review 31:No hot water in bathroom sink. Coffee maker didn't work over priced compared to close by Motel 6
Review 32:Liked the location. Bar and restraunt opened at 6pm It was overpriced for the quality of the hotel especially with Motel 6 next door at -$20 less. A one time trip for us.
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:Courtesy they showed me was good
Review 35:it was not that clean
Review 36:the people at the front desk were so friendly
Review 37:we got a bed room and one of the beds were broken.
Review 38:expressway entrance was close, sheets smelled clean!!!
Review 39:Cigarette burns and hair in sink and both rooms stunk very bad.befs very hard
Review 40:The facilities are outdated, there was trash in the parking lot, it smelled very badly, and the wifi was non existent.
Review 41:The location was good.
Review 42:No maids, no towels, no cleaning of the room, no fresh sheets
Review 43:Pool
Review 44:Towels need upgrading.
Review 45:Would of like a Continental breakfast
Review 46:Everything was good bar, pool
Review 47:Location and close proximity to Papa Bear resturant
Review 48:Bed and bed comforts are old
Review 49:Lady at the front desk
Review 50:the towels had stains and they didnt have plates or refridgerator.
Review 51:The price!
Review 52:The wifi is poor
Review 53:Internet was really not very fast and it kept dropping.
Review 54:Good value for money. Staff is kind and the location is convenient.
Review 55:There was no refrig in the room as advertised. Also no workout stuff available and only coffee for the breakfast
Review 56:Helpful, friendly staff
Review 57:There wasn't anything I didn't like.
Review 58:Very roomy and room was very clean. I will stay again!
Review 59:I heard a lot of noise at night. Had room in back of building...maybe front was quieter. I always have earplugs in case this happens.
Review 60:good value. Clean and inexpensive no frills hotel.
Review 61:Many things, the noise is a big issue at this location. People in the hall and the nite club BANGING Music all nite. They said they were going to have me in a nice upgrade and clean room. Bathroom was not upgraded and only had half the towels to use, NO Bathmat.Non Smoking room with burn holes in the bedspread.
Review 62:The staff took care of the noise issues more than once for me. he also was very kind when I had to move rooms.
Review 63:There is no breakfast, so you need to walk 100m to a restaurant which is not practical in rainy mornings.
Review 64:It is across the street from the Aurora outlet mall, great location. It is also very quiet and good value for money
Review 65:Inadequate towels, ice machine didn't work, other guests were verynoisy even after two in the morning. This was definitely not a 3-starmotel as advertised.
Review 66:Price, cleanliness, staff at front desk very polite and friendly.
Review 67:It does not have the channel wciu and when i booked the hotel on book it they never received the reservation. Luckily they still had rooms available.
Review 68:It was quiet and it has a pool
Review 69:We were told on our reservation that the room had coffee & tea, fridge and microwave. Upon going to our room, there was no fridge or microwave. I went to the front desk to inquire about it and was told that it would be an additional $5 for each. When I showed the clerk the reservation from Booking.com, a gentleman in the rear of the office said that we should have gotten that free. We were told they would get a fridge and microwave right up to our room. I asked approximately how long and was told between half and hour and 45 minutes. An hour and a half later I called the front desk and was told the person would be contacted and would have one soon. After waiting 2 1/2 hours, we told them to forget about it. I don't know why we were not put in a room with fridge and microwave instead of just being jacked around. The heat also would not work when we first got to the room. While we were gone to get something to eat, someone had been to the room and the heat was working. The price was reasonable and the location to where we were going was good but I don't think I would stay there again.
Review 70:The price was reasonable.
Review 71:The hotel reeked of cigarettes. You only get a couple of towels and they are very thin.
Review 72:It is right a Ross the street from the big designer outlet mall in Aurora.
Review 73:especialmente das "bed bugs" especially of bed bugs
Review 74:O pior hotel que estive em toda minha vida The worst hotel I've been in my entire life
Review 75:Overwhelming smoke stench, shady guests loitering in the parking lot, general lack of cleanliness, refusal to refund pet fee when my dogs never even went in the room.
Review 76:Somewhat friendly staff.
Review 77:The motel 6 next door is a ghetto place. The hallways smelled bad, the room smelled like smoke. Old building.
Review 78:Good price, but if you have more go somewhere else
Review 79:Fox Valley Inn was terrible. We had 2 adults & 3 children. Requested a roll away bed (never got), extra bedding (never got), there were only 2 towels in the room (for 5 people), ants were all over the bathroom floor. Night counter person was rude and unhelpful. NOT a pleasant stay. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!
Review 80:Not serving dinning is a little disappointing.
Review 81:The nearest hotel from the Aurora premium outlet. I could have enough time to shop at there on Black friday.
Review 82:The hotel was very rundown. There was a lot of evident damage to the room like the stained carpet and rusted tub. It was clearly quite old as evidenced by the old drapes, very old CRT TV, and worn out beds. It's a pretty strong statement because I'm admittedly pretty ghetto. I don't mind old stuff or that rustic feel but even I had second thoughts about staying in the room after walking in.
Review 83:Unfortunately, the only thing that we appreciated was the fact they allowed our dog.
Review 84:sink in bathroom leaked enough that I had to put the bath mat down in order not to get wet socks-hair dryer did not work-the lobby and hallway carpet needs updating-but for thr age of the building it was kept up pretty well
Review 85:location
Review 86:Unfriendly reception, stained bathroom sink and bathtub (yuk!), threadbare towels, questionable if carpet had been vacuumed (ever), room STUNK (despite being posted as a non smoking room, obviously has regularly been smoked in which aggrevated allergies for us), pillows beyond salvation and should have been thrown away (extremely broken down and lumpy), the blanket on one bed was at least 50 years old and looked too disgusting to touch. It was the "dog" room, between initial door and door to hallway so every time either of the doors was opened there was a loud screech sound. On the Saturday night, there was a constant flow of people in/out between midnight and 4am who used loud and vulgar language which prevented us from sleeping as well our dog would bark. It appeared as there was either prostitution or drug dealing happening from all the activity from what we could hear. If there wasn't loud interactions in front of our door, it was in front of our parking lot window. The reception staff were always disinterested and appeared annoyed when asked for any information. We have regularly stayed at Choice Hotels as well as Wyndham hotels and Holiday Inns, which have the same costs per night as the Fox motel. We have renamed your motel as the "Ghetto motel" and it is now the "standard of badness" for motel stays, a new all time low. From check in to check out the experience was poor and hopefully never to be repeated.
Review 87:The only positive thing about the Inn was the pool and ability to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and well kept area.
Review 88:I did not expect a five star hotel when I checked in because the power was out in our home because of storms and heat. My son took a dip in the pool, where several males were drinking large amounts of alcohol, and people were using the pool in street clothes, despite notifications that was not allowed. I could have looked past that, and the black grout around the base of the toilet. Past the dirty windows and past the multiple holes in the blackout blinds. But... I also found threadbare blankets and sheets with cigarette burns in a non-smoking room. Stains on the towels in the bathroom. BTW one adult and two children registered and there was ONE bath towel. We had to go to the desk for pool towels. I made a special trip back home for our own sheets... but the condition of the mattresses in the rooms when I stripped them, made me literally nauseous. There was NO amount of plastic that would have made me lay on that mess. Checked in at 2:00pm and OUT at 5:30pm. I guarantee that NO disaster would make me go back. I'll pitch a tent.

Review 90:The room was fine however the bathroom toliet did not flush very well inroom 132. This has been a problem in the past also in other rooms. Theice machine on the first floor does not work real well as in the past aswell on this issue. Regards,Neal ps I will stay again in the future.
Review 91:Clean room and frendliy staff. The guy at the front desk has workedthere for sometime and has been very nice on letting me stay in thesame room if is empty at the time of check in. Will stay again nextfall or spring.
Review 92:The pool wasnt open on time. Not enough chairs at the pool. Bath towelsseem to be a min. Bathroom essentials, soap, shampoo were givensparingly The none smoking rooms hallway smelled of cigerattes
Review 93:Right off the highway. Pool for the kids to play in. Convenientlocation to the Kane County Cougars baseball WalMart nearby and outletstores close too
Review 94:I had a room at ground floor and I had to keep the curtain closed sincethe window was on the parking lot. Very noisy (I had the side of theinterstate). I asked for a first floor but they told me internet was notavailable there. In reality Internet was working very badly.I left the hotel two days earlier to move to something better - the staff was very fkind and I got reimboursement of the two nights.
Review 95:The non smoking rooms still smelled of smoke and the cleaning staff came in too early to clean. I didn't like the fact that my entire credit card number appeared on the bill-most places allow only the last 4 numbers to appear. Class action suits have been brought against companies for this error.
Review 96:Price was low and it's location is close to the outlet mall and easy to get to off the toll road. Even though I had a road side room, I couldn't hear all the traffic. I also didn't hear noise in the hallways from people nor children yapping at all hours of the night.
