Reviews for Shilo Inn Grants Pass
Review 1:We left really early from Phoenix and stopped at Grant's Pass to spend the night. I made the reservation online through Trip Advisory and when we checked in, the receptionist couldn't find it. You could tell she was new and didn't know what she was doing. Than when I woke up in the morning I was charged for two rooms, the one I booked online and the new reservation I made when I got there. I was not happy at all.
Review 2:Can't really say. Got there late and left early.
Review 3:$50 was stolen out of my purse, in the room, when I went out to retrieve my bags from the car. Also, the door had been kicked in at some point. Not too happy about either one of those things. Would not stay there again.
Review 4:It was conveniently located.
Review 5:Only small complaint was a beeping sound that seemed unresolved. I slept great and had no major issues, but a quiet night would've been a solid 10/10
Review 6:We really enjoyed the comfortable rooms, warm beds and hot water was very inviting after long day of driving. Fresh waffles and good coffee was the final highlight. Booked room for my 2+2 family and paid 70+tax. Cheapest option available and passed with flying colors.
Review 7:On check in staff member did not even look up from computer to greet me but told me to hold on. When i told her I had a booking was told no I dont, when I offered to show her she said she didnt want to see it she would call someone. Room was so old and in need of major maintenance, some furniture looked like animals had been chewing on it. Electrical wiring exposed where the tv on/off switch is and you have to poke finger inside tv to operate. No fridge. Just extremely disappointed!
Review 8:Leaving!!!!!
Review 9:Bedding was old & worn. TV was old & poor quality. Musty smell. AC/Heater had dirt, feathers & food in the vents
Review 10:The staff was very nice
Review 11:The remote control didn't work and the desk had no batteries. We manually worked the TV and the picture was poor. You could get a heck of a deal on flat screen, HD TV's that would be a huge improvement. We'd been traveling for 10 hrs. and wanted to see a football game. The carpet was frayed and we knew our room by the huge spill-stain outside the door, rm. 106. Some serious updating is in order. How about shower caps?
Review 12:Breakfast has excellent variety and is good. We like yogurt, peanut butter and the many choices. We always meet nice people in the breakfast room or in the pool during summer visits.
Review 13:Doors heavy with cumbersome locking mechanisms. General aging of property. Hallways hot and stuffy and smelly.
Review 14:Good location between CA and OR destinations.
Review 15:The hotel was a good value for the price, but the Black Bear Diner next door had so-so food with poor service.
Review 16:Close to freeway, but not noisy. Kaitlyn, who checked me in was very friendly and efficient.
Review 17:I am getting up there in age, but certainly didn't need the handicapped room they put me in. The facility is in desperate need of updating and repair. I noticed a flea on my ankle after being in the room only a short time. Walls in my room had stuff smeared on them. Had to move the bath chair before showering and noticed orange stuff on the legs and bottom. The ironing board was so dirty, it was not useable. The TV remote didn't work. I turned in my key before going to the breakfast room, then found I could not have breakfast because you needed a key to get in.
Review 18:The location was excellent. Staff was very nice. It was very quiet at night and the bed was clean and very comfortable.
Review 19:The lady at the front desk was rude and unwelcoming. I had booked the property because it accepted pets. She said it wasn't listed and charged me 20. more. The refrigerator was so loud and the light to turn on the bathroom light was paired with an unacceptably loud fan. Not a peaceful environment .
Review 20:The view was stellar
Review 21:The furnace/air conditioner made a funny nose around 1am, for about 15-20 minutes, and that you had to jiggle on the handle of the toilet to stop it from running.
Review 22:The location, and that they honor veterans with an extra discount. Pretty quite at night, other than probably to close to the swimming pool, for us. People walking down the hall were pretty chatty and loud. Not the motels fault by any means.
Review 23:The bathroom fan did not work; there was low water pressure; the facility as a whole was old and run down; who still uses keys and not key cards?
Review 24:The bed was comfortable, and that was the main reason for the room.
Review 25:Old, run down, and in need of a face lift for the facilities. The bed was not comfy and there wasn't a fridge in my pet friendly room
Review 26:The warm waffles were nice and the pet friendliness was great.
Review 27:Not one of the nicer Shiloh Inns I have stayed in. It needed some updating of carpet, doors, and facilities.
Review 28:Nice continental breakfast, and room was older but clean
Review 29:The television did not work with the remote and the staff seemed confused that this style of TV was even in one of their rooms. The reception for the TV was limited to 5 stations and the HBO didn't work. We were not there to watch TV, but would have been nice if it worked. The property is old and in need of updating.
Review 30:The staff was friendly and accomodating
Review 31:Pool was closed for maintenance. Sauna room seemed dirty. No fridge in room. Dark hallways to rooms and room lighting also felt dark.
Review 32:Location was easy to find. Room was clean although toilet handle stuck with every flush had to giggle to stop filling.
Review 33:When booked,I was told all rooms had a fridge. When we got there we were told only the "deluxe" rooms had fridges. Our daughters baby crib was dirty and smelled like urine.
Review 34:Easy access, quiet
Review 35:We are handicapped. I called ahead and they did have a handicapped room. However the handicapped room was at one end of the motel. We had to walk outside up a good incline and a long distance to get to the breakfast room. Didn't make much sense to me.
Review 36:I did not like much of anything about this hotel It was old in bad need of upkeep. This not what I expected from a Shilo Inn.downtrodden
Review 37:Toilets from next room could be heard when flushed. TP & Kleenex products were of poor quality.(scratching) old style box TV. Internet kept bumping me off.
Review 38:Bed was comfortable. Sheets were soft.
Review 39:Very poor security. Housekeeping opened all doors in an area leaving anyone to enter and steal your possessions, Outside security doors left open even at night.
Review 40:Poorly maintained, bathroom lights flickered on and off leaving us in the dark. We stayed for 10 days and the ice machine was "temporarily out of order", no laundry facilities, and the outside door locks are broken. Driveway in need of repair
Review 41:The ice machine had a breakdown which was a slight inconvenience.
Review 42:The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was very comfortable and the inn was very near to where we were visiting. Thanks!
Review 43:The bed was like a slab of concrete. I woke up several time during the night in agony. By the next morning was nearly incapacitated...I should have slept on the floor instead.
Review 44:the complimentary continental breakfast was AWESOME !!
Review 45:I did not feel safe at all here. There were questionable guests staying at the location and signs prominently placed on the glass doors to keep them shut. I would not open the window for fresh air here.
Review 46:I guess you would have to expect undesirable clients at such as low priced motel.
Review 47:No extras in room like refrigerator or microwave; hot tub connected to pool so very cool water and not much circulation
Review 48:Easy to find off Interstate; room was clean; breakfast was excellent; staff was friendly
Review 49:The room was very musty and there was mold around the sink. The neighbors were very loud out in the hallway until about 1 am. It did not appear to be renovated as the site described.
Review 50:The room was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable.
Review 51:The floors all around the edges of both beds was filthy w/ visible food crumbs! The TV didn't come in very clear. The walls had peeling paint and visible patching spots. One of the hand towel holders by the sink wasn't even attached to the wall and it fell on the floor when I went to touch the hand towel (screw was covered in masking tape and balanced in the stripped out and too large hole in wall)
Review 52:The beds and pillows were comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. The WiFi worked.
Review 53:Three room was so hot when we arrived, I turned on the a/c and had to leave it on all night. It was so loud we couldn't get any sleep. The coffee pot in the room was disgusting. And there were bugs in the room, that I found the next morning.
Review 54:The bed was comfortable
Review 55:Breakfast was awful. They were out of waffle mix, we were told it was coming but after waiting 30 min we gave up. Out of hot water n fruit. And no we didn't come in at the last min. There was about an hour left
Review 56:Hotel was clean n the bed was comfortable
Review 57:No Wifi. I really needed wifi and it showed as working, but was so slow that it did not even allow me to download a couple emails. This prevented me from completing some work that really needed to be done. The facilities were in poor shape also.
Review 58:Location
Review 59:Honestly, nothing to complain. A worthwhile place to stay for the night before continuing the journey.
Review 60:Clean room, and spacious enough to fit a family of six (we have four children ranging from 12 years old to 3). Of course a couple of them had to sleep on the carpet, but since we brought our sleeping bag, and the Inn gave us additional pillows and towels - they slept fine. The carpet was rather brand new. Breakfast spread was good (for the price that we paid for the room, it was value for money). And no problem with internet connection at all. It was pretty fast. We stayed in room 103.
Review 61:Paint peeling on wall behind toilet due to splashing from shower. This is a very common problem with shower curtains. Maybe a piece of FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) would solve the problem.
Review 62:Pet friendlyness, breakfast, comfortable bed
Review 63:So the dark dirty lightbulb broken updated TVs old rooms old bedding real old take this one off your list of places to stay would not recommend this place
Review 64:Location the girl at the front desk
Review 65:The Hallways smelled of cigarettes. TV was really outdated and the remote didn't work. Furniture has seen it's days, need to upgrade. The Beds were too hard for ours old bones.
Review 66:Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was great loved the fact that they had Milk in cartons! Easy access. I like the locks access to the rooms. Very clean area.
Review 67:Sort of funky locks on outside hall doors
Review 68:Location close to freeway exit, north end of Grants Pass. 10% off at Brown Bear Diner right next door. Killer Taco Salad!!
Review 69:The pool was closed 2 hours before it was supposed to be:( the kiddos had been looking forward to a swim all day and were super bummed! Also, a mini frig would be a great addition to the rooms. :)
Review 70:We stayed here on short notice due to a family emergency. The staff was so friendly! We enjoyed our stay and this will always be our choice of stays anytime we have an overnight in the area!
Review 71:Staff was very personable and helpful. Rooms were clean. Very close to freeway and places to eat if you desire . Quiet end of town.would book there again.
Review 72:The breakfast was a few muffins and chemical pancakes served in a tiny office room with no space and no air. The drinks were bottles in a fridge, I'll stay in another hotel just because of this.
Review 73:Room was confy and all you could expect of a classic motel
Review 74:the air conditioner started screaming at 3 am so no sleep because when we turned it off it got warm, could not tell anyone because we had to leave early.
Review 75:cleanliness, staff was awesome
Review 76:Lobby smell was terrible, musty and very outdated. Hallways were dark and carpeting was very dark. No pictures and a bright paint job in rooms and hallways would make this a very excellent place.
Review 77:Overall facility was solid and very much liked the coffee and breakfast. Staff was courteous and Accomadating....excellent.
Review 78:plumbing noises
Review 79:First just accepting one of our four legged family members is great. Being close to everything in town and just off freeway is kudos. Most of all your front desk staff was super special.
Review 80:Room was not clean. Other guest hair in the sheets. dust and dirt behind the door and around all of the edges. Pool heater was not turned on and the pool was unable to be used by all guest. Wi-Fi very very sketchy and unable to hold a connection. Room that was reserved was not the room given and told that the hotel did not even have a pull out as described over the 800 number. The breakfast and room to eat in were both in dire need of repairs and better quality of food. I will never stay at another Shilo if this is true of all the hotels.
Review 81:Unfortunately nothing. I have never given such a poor review but the property was in very sad shape.
Review 82:Breakfast room a little too crowded so we took the good to go and ate in our room.
Review 83:Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and good water pressure in showers.
Review 84:I liked the fact that as a veteran I was given some preferential treatment. If the same holds true for all/other Shilo Inns, I'll definitely be back.
Review 85:The whole hotel could use an up date. The breakfast room was to small, very crowded.
Review 86:If you are a veteran you get a discount on the room. Price is hard to beat. I would stay there again.
Review 87:Didn't have accsess to wifi for 2 of 3 days but was fixed by new room also breakfast room could be a little larger and fix the hot tub
Review 88:Staff was great
Review 89:My room must have been near some machinery because the. bed and room just seemed to vibrate - hum - all night making it hard for me, my daughter and even the dog to sleep
Review 90:Friendly staff, clean room, great breakfast. Allowspets.
Review 91:Badly needs an update. Bed was horrible. No fridge. Glad I had a discount. No view of anything except people doing drugs in the parking lot.
Review 92:Easy to find right off the exit. Close to coffee shops and restaurants.
Review 93:I didn't like that for $100 a night I did not have a fridge in my room and was not aware that was something that needed to be requested. Then the only other thing is the parking lot was way to small. Once you get a couple bigger trucks in there it wasn't easy to maneuver a truck around. It would have also been nice to have a flat screen TV to save some space by mounting the TV on the wall and getting rid of the huge TV stand.
Review 94:This hotel was so clean... I used to be a housekeeper so I do know what to look for when staying in a hotel and that in this hotel was absolutely amazing...spotless bathroom, clean main area. The price was decent for the market of the time of stay. The staff was friendly. Even though it was fully booked it was relatively quiet throughout the stay. I loved that it was easy to find for someone who had never been to the area.
Review 95:The bed was awful and no conveniences except for Wi-Fi. The hotel is in great need of updating.
Review 96:The location was great. Right next to a Black Bear Restaurant!
Review 97:EXTERIOR DOOR LOCKS FLAKEY AND WORN OUT. ONE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE LOCK AND HAD TO BE BROKEN TO PRESEVE MY ROOM'S SECURITY. ANOTHER KEY BROKE WHEN IT WOULDN'T TURN THE LOCK CYLINDER THE DOOR TO THE BREAKFAST ROOM SHOULD SHUT AUTOMATICALLY TO KEEP THE FLIES OUT.
Review 98:NICE OFFICE STAFF-GOOD FOOD IN BREAKFAST ROOM. ALWAYS SEEMED WELL STOCKED!
Review 99:A/c did not work at all, maids stole $140.00 while we were in the pool!! Manager didn't seem to care. Co workers cared more than the manager. Facility not very clean, no fridge.
Review 100:Good location, nice continental breakfast, pool, front desk people nice
Review 101:Shilo is affordable. Located in the heart of Grants Pass, so many stores and eateries close. Very clean. Staff was great. Nice Continental breakfast made by a sweet, sweet lady. Good for a single night passing through. They do have a pool!
Review 102:The pool was a little dirty, old and in need of repair in some places.
Review 103:Very comfortable, clean room A/C worked very well Continental breakfast was served by a super nice woman. The breakfast included homemade breakfast burritos with homemade salsa and fresh waffles. For a "continental" breakfast, it was the best we had on our trip! Also, the Starbucks coffee was hot and fresh. Sauna and steam room.
Review 104:Dark hallways, needing paint! Locked access to hallways need room key to gain entrance to hallway! Why? High crime? When off loading and loading cars, doors would automatically lock meaning you needed to find room key to gain access back into motel hallway! With hands full of luggage! Keys were the old school keys that were hard to work the lock too!
Review 105:We had a reservation, but when we got there, Shiloh had over booked and there was no room for us. It was 10 o'clock at night, we were unfamiliar with the city, and did not expect this hick up. I called Shiloh at about 6 PM advising them that we were at a wedding rehearsal dinner and we would be a late check in. Why did they not tell us then that they had no room for us? My husband was on crutches and there was no elevator at Shiloh. Isn't that an ADA issue? I picked Shilo Inn because we stayed at your hotel in Salem Oregon recently. Very disappointed in this experience. I'm not sure if I will choose Shilo again.
Review 106:The staff made a phone call to find us a room.
Review 107:Corridors very dingy bit musty especially in corridor. Locks on outside doors-probably not such a nice area but did not find that out.
Review 108:Staff helpful.Arrrived about 9.30 p.m. and were allowed to use the pool after hours as it was hot! Good a/c Comfortable rooms & beds good breakfast area and choices.
Review 109:We thoroughly enjoyed the sweet lady, April Rose, at the breakfast area. She was so hospitable and kind. Thank you for the very enjoyable stay. We will come again.
Review 110:Power went out about 4:30 PM. 97° heat and no A/C. There was zero communication from hotel staff or 1-800 # as to when it might be restored. 3 hours later hot sweaty and irritated I chose to drive the 6 hours home. I feel they owe me my $ back.
Review 111:Lady who checked us in was very nice.
Review 112:Finding out that the website was not as accurate as expected.
Review 113:We were able to be accommodated because we checked in early. Everything you read on the web does not apply to every location. All rooms don't have microwaves and refrigerators as shown on the website. The staff was very personable and helpful.
Review 114:There was an issue with my door lock not working properly without extra effort. While turning the key, the whole lock mechanism would turn. There was not another room available, which I understood. I managed okay.
Review 115:I was accommodated to allow for my bicycle-first floor room. I loved the sauna! The Black Bear restaurant was right next door. Appreciated the continental breakfast.
Review 116:When we checked in the staff complained about how hot and grumpy they were due to the heat, the toilet was not clean, it had a mold ring in it, the air conditioner was so loud and it squealed every time it came on that none of us could sleep. When we mentioned it at check out, the staff said they would look at it but there was nothing they could do unless it was replaced, which would be "never".
Review 117:No elevator. Very noisy AC. Totally unorganized breakfast room. No fan in bathroom.
Review 118:Good location at top of 6th street. Great staff, Kate and April were fantastic and very helpful. Very quiet rooms.
Review 119:The breakfast area was a bit confusing to begin with, different than at Klamath falls and a bit smaller eating area food selection was limited.
Review 120:easy to locate from freeway. rooms were quiet and comfortable.
Review 121:Dirty and out dated. Found hair in the bath tub, mildew as well. Dusty everywhere and the room was ice cold when we came in.
Review 122:Steam room was faulty
Review 123:Cleanliness, value
Review 124:The price quoted on the phone was not the price charged.
Review 125:Being able to take our pets with ease.
Review 126:dark and dismal rooms, outdated, key was difficult to use on front door,
Review 127:Location was good
Review 128:Very helpful staff. Looked for ways to make our stay better.
Review 129:place dirty and run down
Review 130:Room had an odor that make my eyes water. Air conditioner smelled. Floor in the bathroom smelled like pee.
Review 131:Nothing
Review 132:Screaming children in the room next door.
Review 133:The room and staff were awesome, and moved me to a room away from screaming children.
Review 134:Comfortable, clean and great staff
Review 135:Didn't have the correct reservation.
Review 136:easy to book...easy access to the freeway, just what we were looking for on a road trip, a place to stay overnight....
