Review 8：We got a free upgrade to a beachview bungalow. It was huge and had a big terrass with a bench and a table. The place has its private sandy beach. The breakfast was really good, but there weren't many options to choose from. The dinner is excellent! The stuff was always friendly and helpful. They cleaned the room everyday and put new towls in the bathroom. And you can see the nice sunset everyday!

Review 9：Due to brownish river, which flows beside the hotel, sea is very hazy. Too far from everything (recommended to rent a motorbike). Monotonous breakfast (selection from 3 similar menu).

Review 13：As beautifull the place was, there was always something missing from perfection. The could like wash the windows. Open the place a bit before arrivel, smelling very unpleasant. Had hd TV but no channels at all, and not a clear image on screen. Away from everything so restaurant was quite expensive.

Review 18：The hotel is located right on the beach. The facilities are great. From the reception, the rooms and the restaurant, everything is top class. It really felt like we were on our honeymoon at this place. They set a table for us on the beach where we able to have supper. The staff went out of their way to make our stay the best ever.

Review 19：Most awesome location we had in whole Thailand. The location is remote, that has to be accepted. On the other hand you have a quiet atmosphere. The beach is good, the water relatively shallow, so if it's low tide, then you'll have to walk quite a bit. Also, the direct way into the sea is rocky, so either wear flipflops or walk that one path where there's nearly no rocks ;) We had a bungalow with garden view. Still could the see a bit, though. And the shower was with an open roof, which we liked. And, given that we paid like less than 800 baht, this felt like the best bargain achievable. Great staff. Really friendly people! So, all in all, I would not go to any other location the next time on Ko Samui. Rent a scooter, it was cheaper for a day than going there by taxi. Also, without scooter, trips become really expensive. If you can't drive, this is probably not the location for you.

There are only a handful bangalows close to the beach, no tourists, no traffic to the lesser known part of the island. This is a hidden gem and it is worth it to rent a scouter and travel the whole island like this. Highly recommended!

Review 25：We had most of our wedding guests staying at am samui. Leo, the manager was very accommodating and helpful and made everyone feel comfortable. The service was friendly and the resort was equipped with something for everybody from the pool to the library to massages. The massages were awesome and guests from intercontinental next door were ditching the spa there.and heading to am samui.yes, the resort is away from town but that's the whole idea... To be in the quiet side of the island. Loveky rustic charming resort.

Review 30：Breakfast finishing at 10am is a bit early for a resort style hotel. Pool decent, though a bit murky looking. The sea is much cleaner. There are no staff between 10pm-7pm. We had a fuse trip in our room at night, and couldn't get anyone at all to fix it. Therefore had no aircon or fan all night which was pretty bad!

Review 31：Beach front bungalows probably worth the extra in cost as they're pretty good value for Koh Samui- friends staying in garden huts were not overly impressed with their rooms. Sitting and swimming in the ocean was lovely, once you could get past the stony section at the beginning. Could wade around the headland (10 mins) to the Intercontinental, where there's a much better beach.

Review 42：A few bugs in the room. The beach has quite a bit of coral/rocks that you have to walk out on to get to the water. However, once you get into the water, you'll find beautiful white sand and very calm, clear water.

Review 43：Am Samui is located on the "virgin coast" of Koh Samui, which is very secluded and unlike the touristy areas of the island. More often than not, we were the only ones in the water or on our private beach and it was incredible to have it all to ourselves. The resort is located directly on the beach, so you can eat dinner and have drinks while watching the sun set. The sunsets were gorgeous, with views of the "five islands". It was truly paradise. We opted for the beachfront bungalow, which had panoramic views of the ocean and was steps from the water. As other travelers mentioned, you can expect some bugs given that it's a bungalow on the beach. We only saw a few in the room and considering the view and sounds of the waves crashing just a few feet away, it was well worth it. The food and drink prices are reasonable and we thought the thai food was pretty authentic. They also offer scooter rentals for 200 baht. We rented one and went all over the island very easily. If you're looking for a luxury resort, or one in close proximity to bars, restaurants and shopping, Am Samui is not for you. If you're looking for a secluded, beautiful place to enjoy sunsets and a beach all to yourself, Am Samui is your best bet.

Review 82：We spent our honeymoon at Ko Samui and the Am Samui Resort was the best address to spend it. We had the Beach Front Bungalow with glass front on 3 sides, terrific view to Five Islands and the mainland coast. The lovely staff did their best to make us comfortable all the time, being extra friendly and helpful whenever we would need anything. The whole resort is kept extremely clean and tidy, also the beach is cleaned every morning. One of the highlights was the cooking lesson at the resort.

Review 83：Am Samui was my best hotel experience in Thailand. Staff was helpfull - upgraded our bungalow due to some noise from renovation works for free and were always on our evry wish. The resort is very pretty and to a big scale one - you don't feel crowded. The beach and sunsets are amazing. Food delicious and rooms of very good standard.
