Reviews for Lancaster Arts Hotel
Review 1:The staff was just so-so. And even though the room felt clean, there was a lot of dust on the bed and in the room, which was weird.
Review 2:Very cool decor, great parking situation, and excellent location. Breakfast included something for everyone. Very interesting art and feel to the whole place
Review 3:No pool - not sure there was a gym either Breakfast quality was poor
Review 4:Design of the rooms, cleaness Great restaurant in the hotel building - rated one of the best in Lancaster but they don't have high chairs Location is good too
Review 5:Bed and pillows were terrible; breakfast included was like a low budget motel's; wasn't expecting that for such a high room rate.
Review 6:The hotel is remodeled and has a nice vibe in common space and rooms. Free Parking good.
Review 7:Despite a reservation at the restaurant John Jeffries, our table was not ready for 20 minutes. It was suggested we get a drink from the bar and sit in the lobby! Bar area is small and too crowded.
Review 8:The decor! A mixture of rustic and modern elegance. We really enjoyed all of the artwork. Beautiful room and a large bathroom; 4 of us comfortably shared a room.
Review 9:I thought the room rates were somewhat high for our accommodations. The continental breakfast offerings were sparse, when compared to those offered at other hotels where I have stayed. The elevator crawled between floors.
Review 10:Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent, fairly priced restaurant. Imaginative architecture and decor. Dawn, my agent at Booking.com, provided exceptional service.
Review 11:Rooms could use some more lighting.
Review 12:Loved the features of the room , original brick walls , the colour of the walls. Comfortable beds, and a rose every night was a bonus!!! The breakfast was good with choices of cereal, bagels, bread and fruit. Very helpful and friendly staff especially Rachel.
Review 13:I have multiple sclerosis and the airconditioning wasn't working right. My body cannot process heat. After them failing to correct that, my husband and I had to leave and go to another hotel at 11:30pm.
Review 14:We like the art motif of the hotel. It is a special place for those who like inspiration. Parking was covenient for a downtown hotel. It is located within easy walk of downtown and the college. Also convenient to baseball stadium. Loved the complementary tickets to the baseball game. Convenient to good restaurants.
Review 15:The staff were very friendly and helpful. When my son and his wife requested another room, they happily had one cleaned from the night before and moved them in no time. As well as the art works hung in the corridors and the rooms, we all loved the books full,of guest art work in the lounge. It gave a lovely sense of community to the hotel.
Review 16:Staff was friendly. Hotel room was beautiful and clean.Loved the artwork. Beds were extremely comfortable. Restaurant on property was 5 stars! We needed a microwave and refrigerator and the hotel was able to accommodate. Would definitely stay again. 3 adults and 1 child all fit in our room.
Review 17:The hotel was very hot and the rooms were small without dressers. It wasn't very family friendly and the hotel restaurant prices were exorbant.
Review 18:The location of the hotel is an easy walk to downtown shops, galleries and restaurants. The hotel has a neat concept and look.
Review 19:Great stay overall and plan to return. Mattress in my room sagged a lot but sheets and blanket were great.
Review 20:Clean and excellently designed and decorated rooms.
Review 21:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 22:Beautiful room with a jacuzzi! Chocolates on the pillow Fresh rosebud in the vase by the bed. Amazing hotel for the price. Cool places to shop and eat at nearby.
Review 23:Just needed a quiet, local night away from the kids. Everything was perfect during our stay...by far the best hotel We ever stayed at. We lived the little touches ... The sketch book, the rose, even the water! Thank you for our romantic getaway!
Review 24:The hotel was a little farther from central Lancaster than we normally would have chosen. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful but a couple were not as friendly as the others.
Review 25:We loved the art and the stylishness of the hotel. The small scale of the hotel and the living-room style lobby was wonderful for us as we were in the hotel for Christmas.
Review 26:Great hotel, really enjoyed my stay. Fantastic and very helpful friendly staff. Bartender Jack was superb.
Review 27:The bar closes a little early and food isn't readily accessible at the hotel

Review 40:nothing , planning on returning in the near future.
Review 41:the staff the location and the comfort of the room.
Review 42:Breakfast
Review 43:Bathroom
Review 44:Bar and restaurant too full to get into - had to go out and find alternative
Review 45:Art work displayed was an interesting addition
Review 46:the restaurant and proximity to historic sites
Review 47:The only downside was that there were cobwebs on the ceiling light fixtures and around the ceiling. The window also needed to be cleaned. These are small issues, but once rectified this is a great hotel with lots of character!
Review 48:Loved the fact that an old factory was repurposed! The feel inside was great with exposed brick, wood beams and incredible original wood floors. Great location for walking to restaurants and through neighborhoods. Felt completely safe even at night.
Review 49:Brochure we had indicated complimentary taxi service within 5 miles, however they had stopped that service over six months ago.
Review 50:Lovely rooms & fantastic restaurant.
Review 51:Sent an email days before arrival to ask for early check in. Never any reply so questioned why on arrival. Was told staff was OFF on the day. email arrived!!!!
Review 52:A super hotel in a convenient location Good WiFi for multiple devices Spacious room with great interior The highlight of the stay was eating at JJJ's. Try the pork belly!!!!!!
Review 53:room was noisy possibly in the worst position in the hotel right above the breakfast room, overlooking the patio and you could hear the noise from the bar area. The hotel has an option if you want a quiet room which we requested so it makes you wonder. Bed was cozy with a featherdown bed but mattress caved to the center, needs replacement. Would have liked to have had a small safe in the room.
Review 54:Room was beautifully decorated and clean. bathroom was very nice, clean, modern and well maintained. Well stocked with essentials and I loved the makeup remover wipe! The fresh rose in the room added a beautiful touch and the chocolate hit the spot as we were hungry when we arrived!
Review 55:The placement of the furniture in room 507 caused me to stumble in the dark on the way from the bathroom to the bed.
Review 56:Location, comfortable bed, continental breakfast, ease of parking.
Review 57:Thought the breakfast could have been better for the price.
Review 58:The room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Loved the decor and architectural details from the old use of the building. Staff was friendly, helpful and very professional.
Review 59:Hotel was somewhat pricey overall. The restaurant is for the upper echelon to be able to enjoy its cuisine. We were definitely of that group. I like trying new food, but upon reading the menu I tried to persuade my husband to dine elsewhere. He insisted to give it a try and we both regretted that decision (he more so than myself). Most of the dinner was not consumed.
Review 60:The room décor was unique. It was a room that was built around a renovated warehouse that dated back to 1835 (if I recall correctly). The hotel also had a snack machine like I have NEVER encountered. I regret not taking a picture of it. The machine had to be one of first to be built. Definitely worth checking out (3rd floor).
Review 61:the hotel mixed up our reservation and we were told we had to move rooms on the 2nd night - however when we checked in they had fixed it
Review 62:very spacious room with nice decor, plenty of room at bar, food was very good, convenient location
Review 63:The elevator it has only one elevator so you have to be patient !!!!
Review 64:The hotel location is excellent ,very close to f&m to down town and most important which is a safe area that you can even walk alone the hotel facilities are excellent and the staff was very helpful really I love my staying
Review 65:i enjoyed everything,no faults ! everything was spectacular
Review 66:the room was very chic and inviting. the hotel had display many interesting pieces of art. The outside patio was very charming
Review 67:I liked the room I stayed in very much. Enjoyed receiving chocolate and a rose every evening. The Staff was very helpful in all of my questions about places, distance, etc. I thought the location of the hotel was perfect for what I wanted to do.
Review 68:Leaving without visiting the restaurant or bar...
Review 69:Loved the little extras, sketch pad, makeup remover, nightlight, rose and chocolates. I felt very welcomed. Bath products were divinely scented.
Review 70:The building is fabulous with old brick, blue stone, granite and large wooden beams - continuing into the rooms. Gourmet restaurant downstairs. Long stem roses and chocolates given to guests with turn-down service. Spa robes, wine glasses, etc. in room. Nice granite baths and comfortable beds. HBO and wireless internet -also.
Review 71:Slow elevators
Review 72:Loved the design of building Wonderful breakfast bar Room service was quick Parking garage Restaurant within Hotel Quiet Personal touches that were added
Review 73:a little loud because of the acoustics/by the elevator
Review 74:I loved EVERTYTHING! I loved the design, the staff was so friendly & accommodating, the special touches (the bikes to use, the sketchpad etc). I have already spread the word all over Frederick MD about how awesome it was! I would definitely come back & hope to do so!
Review 75:We would have liked a room directory on check out info, when breakfast was served etc. We were not told that information when checking in, however later we heard a different employee giving that information to someone else checking in.
Review 76:We liked the converted old warehouse setting into a hotel.
Review 77:Nicely designed hotel. Beautiful (but a bit small)room, art everywhere, nice lounge. A fresh rose every day on your bed! Excellent sleeping comfort, but a pity that the volume of the AC fan cannot be individually controlled.
Review 78:The hotel is beautiful ... the rooms impeccable...the one complaint isthere is no true kitchen serving the hotel ... there is no late nightfood or bar availability .. however the artwork displayed was lovely... I did do a doodle like suggested in the room provided sketch padonly to find it thrown in the garbage and not in the scrapbook as theysaid it would be.
Review 79:The staff was kind to change our room to a king after a booking mistakebut we were not impressed at all w/ the hotel. Everything seemed dingyand there were cobwebs on the ceilings. Please note the walls areextremely thin. We could hear every word our neighbors said the entirenight. They were up very late and we actually had to download a whitenoise app on our iphone to try to drown them out. We were not at allimpressed.
Review 80:I came for 1Friday It is for the Arts I came to Lancaster for its reputation and the mostly original art work hung in the hotel Thank you for thinking the idea for an arts hotel through! Congrats! I love the idea of the doodle sketch book also the messy studio signs which I purchased 2 of them, since I am a visual artist myself, I learned from you thanks to an artist friend who actually grew up in Lancaster 70 years ago....
