Reviews for Riverside Inn

Review 1:liked everything. No complaints.

Review 2:loved the view of the river and the path to the great restaurant next door. Good breakfast, friendly staff, nice room decor.

Review 3:I couldn't be happier. The sheet on top of the comforter is a wonderful touch, the shower head height and water pressure were heavenly, the view spectacular, breakfast was yummy. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Review 4:Room was too hot when I arrived. Also, the hangers in the closet don't allow you to hang up clothes with your own hangers.

Review 5:The location by the river with a balcony.

Review 6:It was a bit expensive. I believe it is due to its position along the river. I will not likely stay again due to the cost. Nice place though.

Review 7:I liked the view from the back deck.

Review 8:The two women (supposedly) at the front desk when I tried to check out were too busy gossiping in the back room to notice I was at the desk. Also, I paid extra for a room with the river view-barely could see it and our room was next to the highway-very noisy!

Review 9:The young man that checked us in was wonderful and so helpful.

Review 10:Beautiful views off the balcony overlooking rogue river Ducks and geese were flying low over the water and squirrels ran up the trees right in front of our balcony Just sensational views Restaurant across from the river good as well

Review 11:Building is old so you can hear your neighbors walking around and watching TV (not for light sleepers). Included breakfast was the bare minimum so if you are looking for a hearty breakfast expect to go elsewhere.

Review 12:Great location on the Rogue River with a lovely view. Room was comfortable and clean.

Review 13:Bed was a bit soft People walking around on 3rd floor woke usup (walls between rooms were a bit thin too)

Review 14:Fabulous welcoming staff Nice pool Lovely location with each room having a balcony overlooking the river (but about 8 blocks away from downtown)

Review 15:I think it is time they upgraded the furniture in the room. My brother ask me to let him know how this place was as he was planning to stay there as well...I am sorry I can't give it a real high recommendation.

Review 16:Location on the Rouge River was nice but view was limited due to untrimmed growth from river bank all the way to the motel.Room was clean. Breakfast Bar was okay.

Review 17:The staff was friendly and very helpful with a late arrival and local dining suggestions. The room was cozy, comfortable and quiet with only the soothing river to lull us to sleep. The shower was amazing! May sound strange but you'd be surprised how many hotels do not have very good showers.

Review 18:The rooms were out dated compared to the photos. The photos obviously we for it's Sister motel called River Loge which was a beautiful property. Also, I did not get sleep either night of my stay as it was very noisey. The rooms did not seem clean. Carpet was really dirty and the furniture was old and marked up. I would never stay there again.

Review 19:The staff was nice and the location was good.

Review 20:The hotel was adjacent to the Rouge River so in a beautiful setting. Convenient on/off of I-5. Also convenient to restaurants close by and you can walk to one.

Review 21:The hum of electricity from the room refrigerator. I unplugged it.. You can also hear the neighbors flushing and air conditioner. Breakfast was boring. No jelly for toast, no toast! Bagel w cream, hard boiled egg. Nothing special...

Review 22:The sounds of water and fowl!

Review 23:On our last night the occupants of the room above us checked in at 11:30 pm. They must have had children who were running and jumping around the room, or they were some busy adult.. They did not quiet down until after 1am. Needless to say it was less than restful.

Review 24:The room was so noisy from the room above we barely slept. We were told by the staff the room would be quiet but it WASN"T. I will never stay here again.

Review 25:Not much

Review 26:The experience was not bad but lights went out and we needed to get breakfast elsewhere. This was an incident that was out of everyone's control

Review 27:Deck overlooking the river

Review 28:Power went out in middle of night; not on in time to shower so unable to use bathroom, too dark. when turning keys in and complained of no power and no breakfast ready at 9am; they laughed and said it came back on earlier than they expected...should have offered a refund or free night later.

Review 29:early check in; late night staff was friendly, comfortable bed,

Review 30:The rooms were very dated. They haven't been updated/renovated in at least a decade. The carpet was very dirty. After walking across the carpet once my white socks were black.

Review 31:The location was nice. Great view of the river and the historic Caveman Bridge.

Review 32:People above me had two kids that were running and jumping, sounded like was below a bowling alley, they should have put them on a first floor room

Review 33:Staff and close to a great food place across the street

Review 34:We had a great stay. It was our 50th anniversary trip. They brought us a bottle of wine and glasses. So nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our view off our balcony of the Rogue River was awesome. Thank you Riverside Inn and staff.

Review 35:Didn't think our third floor room was as nice as the second floor room we stayed in last time.

Review 36:Friendliest staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at.

Review 37:The bed was a little uncomfortable and worn, really too bad, otherwiseall else was great.

Review 38:Staff was very pleasant, location by the river was a plus and withinwalking distance to downtown restaurants. Breakfast was very plentifuland served on real china not plastic. Very much enjoyed the town ofGrant's Pass.

Review 39:That we couldn't stay longer.

Review 40:When we checked in they noticed it was our anniversary so they delivered a nice gift to the room for us. Very nice! All in all will definitely stay again!

Review 41:People staying above my room created sounds like a WWE match was in session. Very unrestful night. No complaint made due to negative retaliation and harassment possibility from the unruly guest. Front desk was notified when checking out and a verbal apology was given.

Review 42:Good location. Ample parking.

Review 43:The room is very shabby and had lots of flying bugs in it. As we walked in the door, there was a spider walking across one of the beds. The beds were comfortable, thankfully. I thought it was very overpriced for a place in need of a major renovation.

Review 44:The view of the river was very nice. The two ladies at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful.

Review 45:Breakfast was okay, not great.

Review 46:The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were updated and bathrooms were very nice. Really liked the balcony overlooking the river. Made for a nice one night stop on a road trip through the northwest. Didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked to be in good shape.

Review 47:Hotel is comparable to others in a similar mileu expect this one boasts great views, which is accurate. When we arrived one tenant thanked the staff for helping with rowdy neighbors who partied. We thought that boded poorly.

Review 48:Easy walking to good food in town.

Review 49:Bed was uncomfortable in one of our rooms (bed in the other room was just fine).

Review 50:Good breakfast, short walk across Rogue River to community park, good restaurants nearby.

Review 51:The sliding glass door and screen were very difficult to open and close. Plus, there seemed to be a lot of flying bugs in the room. Could have been there from when we were moving out stuff into the room.

Review 52:Since we came to Grants Pass to do the Hellgate Jet Boat ride, the location of the hotel couldn't have been any more convenient. Also loved the gift shop.

Review 53:Love this place! This is my second time staying here and will always be my number one choice for a place to stay in Grants Pass. It's older, but very well maintained and the river view is amazing!

Review 54:The king size bed was pretty hard

Review 55:The staff we all wonderful and very friendly. They were very helpful and informative on restaurants and local activity information

Review 56:A little bit of a walk to restaurants, but worth it!

Review 57:Loved the location of the hotel right on the river. Balcony was perfect for an after-dinner glass of wine

Review 58:Clean, comfortable room with great view of Rogue River. Comfortable bed and good hot shower combined with good location made our stay very enjoyable. Elevator made getting luggage to third floor room easy for senior couple.

Review 59:Had our 5 year old with us who loves pools, but the swimming pool was pretty deep - We still took advantage of it, but it would have been nice to have a 'kiddie' area.

Review 60:Always appreciate a free breakfast w/stay, free parking and it's located right off the river!

Review 61:The property is lovely and it is nestled in a beautiful river view setting. The staff are helpful and delightful The rooms are clean and while not fancy, they are we appointed and very comfortable. My new favorite spot.

Review 62:I have nothing to complain about my wonderful stay.

Review 63:I loved how beautiful the property was. The view was amazing and so relaxing to wake up to in the morning. I also loved the continental breakfast. The staff were right on top of all messes and keeping the food maintained. They always had a smile and made it an enjoyable experience.

Review 64:Wish the breakfast offered a little more, i.e. sausage and eggs or something more distinctive. Breakfast room needs to be updated. Pool is small and we wished there was a jacuzzi.

Review 65:We had a first floor room with an excellent view of the river from our balcony. The room was spacious and lovely, tastefully decorated and clean.

Review 66:The only thing that could have made this stay better was for it to be free.

Review 67:While officially check in was not until 3:00 pm, we arrived around 12:30 and our room was ready. All the staff we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful.

Review 68:Our view was limited to a small opening in the shrubbery and blackberries.

Review 69:Nice pool (No spa). Maybe extend the hours. It was located away from guest areas.

Review 70:The room wasn't going to be ready until 4:00PM. After I took my pet to a kennel because pets are not allowed, realized there were at least four other guests with pets in their rooms.

Review 71:Location

Review 72:Floors are thin so get a room on top floor if possible....was there for two nights and could hear tramping around and moving of chairs until 2 in the morning on both nights.

Review 73:Breakfast was better than usual particularly when free.

Review 74:Asked for top floor online reservation....given second floor - room above us arrived at 12:30 AM and sounded like he/she was moving furniture for about an hour....

Review 75:Everything was ok with our stay. Except, we paid with cash when we checked out and it's 4 days later now we still haven't got the funds released from our card that they had to hold our room. That's just frustrating

Review 76:We were downstairs and heard every foot step upstairs! TOO Noisy!!! Also the weeds outside the balcony prevented a good view of the river!

Review 77:Friendly staff, good breakfast, near to park, river

Review 78:We can hear the people above us walking. That gets a bit annoying !!

Review 79:We have stayed here a few times now, and we like the location best. And the balcony with the River view is pretty relaxing!

Review 80:The location next to the Rogue River was a plus. Very comfortable room and bed. Nice to be able to open windows and not deal with the on & off of normal hotel air conditioning. Staff was very friendly and each appeared to like their jobs.

Review 81:got a handicapped room but still had stairs to go up and down...about four. Breakfast was not handicap friendly as we took the elevator to third floor. Had to walk down 6 stairs to get to next stairway of 6 stairs to get to breakfast area. Not handicap friendly.

Review 82:As silly as it is, it was the pillows! They were too thick, so I personally didn't sleep well. (I am not a back sleeper, mostly side and stomach, and they were just too large/high to relax comfortably.

Review 83:Staff was very friendly. We arrived very late, so didn't get to really enjoy the area like we wanted, but the hotel was nice enough and clean. All interactions with the staff were great; all very friendly. The breakfast was mostly continental with the exception of making waffles, but there was plenty of food options. Being on the river was great too :)

Review 84:Aging....splinters on balcony railing...aging rooms and decor, and no room to eat breakfast for more than a few people..

Review 85:We like location and amenities

Review 86:Breakfast was a mundane affair. Nothing I cared for to eat. Muffins are better than bagels. Waffles were hard to cut. Coffee was very good.

Review 87:The river, the location and the friendliness of staff.

Review 88:The breakfast was ok, not a lot to chose from.

Review 89:Everybody at the front desk were very nice. We had purchased a trailer in Grants Pass and they figured out where we could put it for the night.

Review 90:We did not have a bad experience during our stay.

Review 91:We liked the room location with the overlooking view of the Rogue River, and that the property is being maintained. We look forward to a return visit.

Review 92:The facility could use a facelift (couldn't we all?) but is in a lovely setting and is very comfortable.

Review 93:Location is great, staff friendly and very helpful.

Review 94:Balcony over looking the river. Comfy Beds/House Coats/Nice Shampoo/Conditioner/lotion/Coffee This is my 2nd trip to the Riverside - I will go again even if a bit pricey!

Review 95:We liked being on the 3rd floor and hearing the river roll by. At night we would sit on the patio and just enjoy the place. It was great and even though we live here now we plan on going back for special occasions.

Review 96:I had a bad experience in that I needed a refrigerator and microwave. As with most travelers, I didn't want to spend my time calling and waiting for a replacement refrigerator as the one in the room was broken and unplugged. The new one froze my food by morning which was too much, and it spoiled by then as it took a long time to get cold. They offered to bring a microwave after I'd eaten my food unheated.

Review 97:Good bed, great view, right at the jetboats!

Review 98:The rates were too expensive and what I thought was gonna be a good deal ended up charging extra for our pet even though we included that info in our reservation. Bottom floor in noisy.

Review 99:The location was ok , breakfast was good and the staff was nice.

Review 100:First room we got the bed was too hard...fortunately they had one other room that had been updated somewhat that had a good comfortable bed. But the room still needed some work. The bathtub spigot had been worked on but they left it patched poorly. Deck and walkways need new carpeting.

Review 101:Staff was friendly and did get us a better room. Nice location next to the river with a great view of the river and bridge.

Review 102:The art in the room was pretty lame. I'm sure there must be some local painter that sells river scenes, or something more innovative, that would make the hotel more special. It would be a win-win for everyone.

Review 103:We loved waking up to the beautiful view of the river. We really, really loved the awesome young women that made us waffles. The art in the breakfast room was eclectic and fun.

Review 104:The next time a motel is built on this property, the architect should be told that sound insulation should be included in the design. It was left out in the current building.

Review 105:The location and views are great

Review 106:A tour bus idled it engine all night 40' from our room, reverberating off the walls and disturbing our sleep. The staff was unwilling to solve problem.

Review 107:The bed was very nice, and the location was great.

Review 108:The first room we checked into smelled like cigarette smoke but with one call to the front desk they changed our room.

Review 109:Close to the Tap House restaurant. The staff was friendly.

Review 110:Loved that there were like 4 comfy pillows per bed, but for me they were a little too big or high for my head.

Review 111:Everything. Spacious room. They provided all of those things you need. Plenty of towels, fridge, hangers, hair dryer, coffee maker with coffee and sugar. Pretty decent breakfast. Super friendly staff. The room and the grounds were emaculate. Balcony that overlooks the river. Bed is super comfortable, big screen tv, table and chairs, wifi and one of those things plugged in with 3 USB ports.

Review 112:nothing in particular

Review 113:Nice peaceful location with a view over the river. Our room had a balcony and even though we didn't spend much time at the hotel i enjoyed standing on it and leaving the door open at night to listen to the river and the ducks. Super friendly staff too, comfortable room and good internet. Great value compared to the big chain motels up the road.

Review 114:Thin walls. As soon as the people above us woke up, we heard every footstep, door, flush, shower, etc.

Review 115:The staff was great and the location right on the river was fantastic. Every room had a balcony with a view of the river. It was also a very quiet location. Oh, and free breakfast was a bonus!

Review 116:Our room was right next to the maids closet, and they were in there making noise first thing in the morning.

Review 117:The location with a balcony overlooking the river.

Review 118:There were ants! They got rid of some, but they showed up again in a different place.

Review 119:The staff was friendly and helpful, and access to town and to the highways was very easy.

Review 120:Check in night, We Were not Given The Room We Reserved. Instead we were given A Room right on the street & without the fireplace. We could hear every car that drove by on that busy street all night long & every guest climbing the stairs & walking to their rooms as well.

Review 121:The friendly staff & the fireplace in the room.

Review 122:The bathroom was okay. Tile could have been a little cleaner. Shower was small.

Review 123:The location was perfect. I loved that the room has a balcony with a view.

Review 124:I'm pretty easygoing and I like things nice, so I have no negatives

Review 125:It really is in a category by itself, not comparable to Hampton Inn, but no where near Super 8, so unique that it just had to seem cool to me, which it did. Cool like being at camp, or a mountain cottage, or let me just stand here with my coffee and watch the river for a bit from my balcony cool. No marble tubs and fluffy extras, but clean and nice and a little quirky in a good way.

Review 126:The breakfast left something to be desired. But I could say that about the free breakfast in almost every hotel in America. :)

Review 127:We were blown away by the friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness of the room, and the amazing view. The evening popcorn was a nice touch. Will stay there every time we are in Grants Pass!

Review 128:AC/Heating unit was little bit loud so we turned it off. The rooms are very well insulated and we stayed warm despite mid 40's temperature outside.

Review 129:We stayed at Riverside Inn one night on the way to the coast and it we really liked how quiet it was in the room, view of the river and proximity to the shops and restaurants.

Review 130:The heating/air-conditioning unit was rather loud. A microwave in the room or available elsewhere for guests would have been nice.

Review 131:The gas fireplace in the room was wonderful. The view of the river was great at all hours of the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Useful and large refrigerator in the room. We enjoyed the evening popcorn.

Review 132:Thought he rooms ere well kept and bed was comfortable, it was difficult to sleep. They have heating units in the room which are very loud and irritating when they come on (which you need them to during the winter_ - very annoying.

Review 133:I liked pretty much everything about the room and the location. Right on the river, close to food and shopping, easy access to where I needed to go. The price was good and the service was excellent.

Review 134:Clean & comfortable with a good location - the balcony with a river view is really nice. Staff service is AWESOME: I forgot something in my room & called them several days after I had left, not expecting anything, but they found it and shipped it to me right away without any charge. I prefer this inn over a lot of bigger chains I've stayed at and would definitely recommend it. Absolutely no complaints at all.
