Reviews for Elements Boutique Resort & Spa Hideaway Koh Samui

Review 1:no bad experience, but in general, the room facilities need some renovation..

Review 2:The staff was extremely helpful.. and very professional. The hotel was quite and peaceful, giving you the chance to relax and enjoy.. the menu for the breakfast was also very good, with lots of fresh options..

Review 3:In quite a remote location which some might not enjoy, but we enjoyed getting away from the crowds for a bit

Review 4:Was a great overall experience. Staff are super friendly and the resort is clean and well looked after. Will definitely recommend others to stay here.

Review 5:In general, the service quality in the restaurants could be improved. Many times one needs to make the request several times before the food or drink appears

Review 6:Zuzi was outstanding in making sure all our needs were met. She made this place work for us. The Chef is also a great guy and was attentive to our requirements

Review 7:1. Hotel: The territory is small and there are no places for walking. So, pictures are much better than alive. Old facilities in every inch. Broken bathroom equipment. 2. Restaurant: the breakfast doesn’t full every morning, organization is very slow there, and coffee is unacceptable. Prices doesn’t matches with quality. 3. Beach: dirty beach line (they clean only 30 meters around the hotel) - there are a few dogs living on the beach and parking place for boats. I have met a few broken pieces of bottles in the sand. The ocean in lagoon has dirty water (actually nobody swim there). Not enough towels and chaise lounges.

Review 8:Friendly staff. Good WiFi.

Review 9:We really enjoyed our stay from the warmest of welcomes to the fondest of farewells! Everything in between was perfect; the staff were amazing, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was delicious in both restaurants. The spa is everything you want it to be; atmospheric, fragrant and relaxing! Yoga was brilliant and the infinity pool, views and location stunning :-)

Review 10:The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was lovely and the head chef (American serving American inspired food with a fusion twist) was very friendly and even tried out new recipes on us. The location was great, secluded but still accessible. The snorkelling was great and also the safari excursion. Lovely views from the beach bar and delicious reasonably priced food and drink! Would definitely recommend.

Review 11:Restaurant menu a little limited if staying for a while 10 days+

Review 12:The private dinner was fantastic, set a value and what of food, and let the chef create his magic with flavors

Review 13:Service at the restaurant was REALLY slow. Especially with young kids - waiting an hour for food to come (pasta!) was not great.

Review 14:Very much a boutique - small and out of the way. Lots of personalized attention. They have an amazing chef designing their menu -- food was interesting and really good. Great with young kids. Spa was awesome with really GOOD prices (half of what we saw in other resorts).

Review 15:Air-con in living room and main bedroom not cold, rain shower pressure is weak, no hot water for shower in second bedroom, tap water taste salty, not a beach but somewhat a lagoon, sand on beach fair, sea not nice to swim

Review 16:Cosy, not crowded, small resort, short walk (few steps) to restaurants, spa, beach. Stayed at 2 room beachfront villa. Price reasonable. Very clean. Away from main touristy belt. Very nice sunset. Highly recommend for its beachfront villa.

Review 17:Bed wasn't that comfy. Service at restaurant slow. Beach at front not great

Review 18:Hotel manager/ owner very helpful. Transferred us to a different room so we could use baby monitor in the restaurant and by the pool which was fantastic. Had an amazing massage. 10 out of 10!

Review 19:maintenance levels, cleaning standard of rooms and managing risks could definitely be improved

Review 20:loved the location, setting and options available. If you need peace and quiet then you have it. But going places for fun, excitement and site seeing is easily possibly to. Excellent Spa; loved that holiday reading book exchange was possible and the offering of Wellness practices - detoxing, energy healing, yoga, fitness - if wanting to do it.

Review 21:Staff is friendly, but they dont understand what you say most of the time. Broken towels (with wholes) on the rooms and on the pool. No service at the pool ( if you want a drink you have to go to the restaurant to order something) The pool deck was completly damaged - we couldnt walk bare foot there cause you would hurt your feet- no mantainance at all of the deck, when i raise this with the hotel management they told me they were going to repair it, but is sad to see that they havent ever fix anything on that deck. no beach! they have sand, but no ocean swimming posibilities, just in front of the hotel, you have boats... is more a pound than a swimming area. you can see people fishing crabs. Really dissapointing, when you see a picture of a beautiful beach, and you get there and realize you cant have one.

Review 22:The rooms are very nice, and confortable, Pool is good as well, restaurants are good. Cooking is also good.

Review 23:Great tub but Water ran so slowly it would have taken a week to fill. Dripping tap.

Review 24:Staff but not the busybdy guest relations manager who kept on interferring with advice and activities.

Review 25:Breakfast was Poor Quality. Staff were inexperienced or not trained, so poor service. Decking at pool needs replacing desperately

Review 26:room was comfortable. Reception are was ok.

Review 27:The resort is very nice and has good facilities to add to the room like bicycles and kayaks. They also arrange for nice boat trips for couples which are very romantic.

Review 28:poor maintenance, low in cleanness, hot&cold water not functioning well, location to far.

Review 29:friendly staff, great breakfast, ala-carte breakfast made to order (price included).

Review 30:Not being given the detox menu in the restaurant. Not knowing proteinshakes were available. Gutted about this. The restaurant wasunderstaffed and customers wait a long time to be served. It'simportant the staff do 5 minute checks after serving. If glasses areempty, get them filled. If plates are empty, clear them. If customersare trying to get your attention it's because they need something.

Review 31:The gym The Thai massage lesson My room was spacious and comfortable Thepool was glorious Management were friendly and welcoming Magicien nightwas entertaining Free yoga & meditation

Review 32:Hotel is far from the main part of the island (1 Hour drive to Chaweng, Bophut, ferry etc) and hotel doesn't provide any transportation to go there. We had a quite noisy room with Windows to Parking which was not nice and we asked to change but this was impossible since hotel was full. This hotel fits more people Who wants to do only resort life.

Review 33:Breakfast was nice, clean room, comfortable Bed and nice international staff.

Review 34:Price of food and quality, dirty beach, pay to use the gym, jacuzzi area was never cleaned since we were there, overall we won't be coming back

Review 35:The reception area was nice

Review 36:The hotel Has no beach. Even if it a rainy season the hotel offers a bogor marshland. Not anormal beach. This should be communicated beforecustomers arrive through booking.com or through the hotel. Therestsurant did not have variety of plates to choose and expensive dishesfor what it offered.

Review 37:Usually we were disappointed

Review 38:Dining at elements was a bit expensive. Need to include more Thai dishes to the list.

Review 39:If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful location, then taling ngam is perfect and elements is a good place to relax at.. staff is super friendly and ever ready to assist.. spa was great.. food was on the expensive side and we preferred having our grub at local eateries outside; when in Thailand eat like them :) Breakfast was awesome and I'm glad it was included in the package. Nathon, which is simply amazing is just about 10kms from the resort, has lot of good places to dine in and shop. Bikes can be rented out for 200 baht and you're all set to go.. big thanks to Suzie, William, joy, htet and the others who were simply wonderful to interact with. Had a great experience with the local people and the culture was a huge respite compared to the tired attitudes we see in big cities around the world.

Review 40:I was double charged during my stay.

Review 41:Some details could be improved (pool ladder broken, painting details...)

Review 42:Just a touch too far away from everywhere.

Review 43:Beautiful place. Lovely people.

Review 44:Could give more info

Review 45:The people really care

Review 46:nothing

Review 47:Everything. Perfect resort. Worth every of their 5 stars.

Review 48:far from entertaiment area

Review 49:facilities and the serenity of the place. away from the bustling city. a very good place to relax and secluded

Review 50:Our stay was great! The breakfast was lovely and the bamboo restaurant had great Thai food! We will definitely go back!

Review 51:We experieced a whole day with no water in the bathroom, no shower The pool is kind of dirty

Review 52:Very nice hotel Great location to relax in Every desire fully catered to by friendly staff

Review 53:Staff could not clean, when raised matter with head of house she said she couldn't get Thais to clean properly, what twaddle, pool was covered in algea, and full of grit. I asked for transport to meet, usual cost 1000baht, but had to take taxi from firm at aiport, cost 1500 baht. sorry not 5 star, beach you could not swim in. take care in belgian retaurant near by, 500 for fish for two then charged us 1000.

Review 54:breakfast excellent, location very quiet, but even honeymoon couples we met said it was too isolated and only hotel they had visited that didn't make a fuss of them, nice big room infinity pool and staff. bamboo beach restaurant very nice good food.

Review 55:Initially we thought we had made a big mistake by choosing a resort so far away from the main hub of the island. But very quickly decided we had made the right decision! It was so easy to hire a scooter from the resort and we used it everyday, the roads were easy to navigate and there was always a stunning view of the coastline. Chaweng was only about a 40 minute ride away. The resort itself is very comfortable. The freshwater pool is right by the beach and the bar offers a wide selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The breakfast is such a good deal- three choices from an a la carte menu cooked to order every morning, we loved it! And the Bamboo Bar next door offers inexpensive yet delicious Thai food on the beach. We stayed in a garden suite with a private pool and it was such a treat. Spacious, comfortable and beautiful furnishings. Huge shower and shampoos and shower gel smelt divine! Loved the selection of books in the room. We loved the quiet location of the resort and also loved the fact it wasn't bustling with other guests, especially children! It was a very quiet and peaceful stay, perfect for the first leg of our honeymoon.

Review 56:Recommend you call in advance to arrange collection from the airport. I didn't and it was a 40 minute drive and got charged double by the local taxi drivers than the charge offered by the hotel.

Review 57:Opposite part of the island from Chaweng Beach. I came here because I wanted to visit Koh Samui but experience the more tranquil and luxurious part of the island. It's definitely not the hotel for if you want a lively night out, instead you can relax in the beautiful spa, enjoy fantastic food and relax on an almost empty beach. The Thai restaurant on the beach offered cheap but fantastically fresh food and some fun nights round the bar. Someone mentioned previously about the pool being murky but that's because it's salt water from the sea. I loved being on an empty beach where there were no other hotels in the cove, only a few private villas. Wifi was excellent and you could pick it up in your room, by both restaurants, pool and even on the beach. Staff were great, free yoga and meditation in the mornings and the rooms clean and with a quirky boutique feel.

Review 58:Not really negative, but it is far away from the commercial districts on the island. A scooter is required to move around. Moving to and from the resort to the airport or nearby naval ports is expensive.

Review 59:Very beautiful resort with a dedicated beach and a nice pool. We had a wonderful stay. The breakfast is a killer.

Review 60:A great resort on a more quiet part of Koh Samui, perfect for relaxing. Personal service was outstanding. A personal tour of the facilities by the manager. It was like the staff new you from years back all though you've never been. The amnesties were great, personal boat tour and scooters/car for rent at the hotel (great price). Even events like wine tasting, thai night and beach bbq were great addition.

Review 61:Dinner options were not that great and being a distance from more dining options this was something of a negative.

Review 62:Loved the serentiy and atmosphere. Our garden apartment felt like home in an instant. It was private, quiet and just lovely. Staff was friendly and showed a willingness to help in all ways.

Review 63:Food at resort is overpriced. Beach is in front of a muddy bottom boat access area. The Beach in front of the beautiful emereld water is dirty and water is too shallow to swim. Basically you can't swim in the sea... Hotel is way out of the way. You need a moped or car to do anything. No restaurants or activities nearby.

Review 64:Great staff - very friendly and helpful. nice rooms, excellent breakfast, openess of facilities, quite and relaxed atmosphere. - Other than the beach it met all expectations!

Review 65:I feel I must write this review only because there were a few (small) niggles which cumulatively add up to a…less than a 5 star experience. These are all fixable and I write this in the hope that the owner/manager see’s this and so they can fix for future guests. 1st niggle was service – we did not dine at the restaurant for evening meals so cannot comment, but we did take breakfast every morning (being inclusive of the package we had taken). Service was…varied… One morning we had an excellent waitress who spoke perfect English and was perfectly considerate as to when we were ready to order, when we were done to take away our finished plates and so forth, and got our orders spot on. However a couple of mornings we must have just got unlucky with (perhaps) new staff – their English wasn’t great (hey, I can’t comment – my Thai is non-existent!) but it did cause a lot of troubles for the duration of the meal – having to ask for each individual component of a coffee (first my GF’s, then mine, then to ask for the milk, AND THEN AGAIN having to ask for another serving of milk as only ONE HALF FULL shot glass of milk was delivered, then eventually helping ourselves to sugar from another table when that hadn’t materialised – this to me seems more like common sense rather than language barrier. Then when my girlfriend ordered a yoghurt/fruit dish AND an avocado salad, we were amazed to be served a yoghurt/fruit/avocado salad – ALL mixed together on one plate! Surely the chef should have had the common sense to question this before serving?

Review 66:1st and foremost let me say Element Boutique resort and spa is beautiful, no two ways about it, the construction, the architecture, the location, every small detail is perfectly in fitting with Koh Samui and a 5 star resort. Me and my girlfriend stayed for 5 nights in January 2014. We had booked a 2 bedroom beachfront pool villa. The villa was spectacular, the views amazing, and standard of furnishing etc. was very high. Being able to walk straight from the villa on to an almost deserted beach each morning was spectacular.

Review 67:Poor wifi, less professional staff of front dest ( no response for requirements, wrong charge of room fee without notification)

Review 68:Good facility and quiet beach, breakfast is perfect.

Review 69:Everything about the resort was outstanding, from the friendly staff, to the very refined food, to the beauty of the resort and its location. Although it's a bit far off from the main town; however, definitely worth a drive and a stay. We had a wonderful experience at the resort, and would highly recommend it.

Review 70:The room and food were expensive - approx $200 U.S. for the room.

Review 71:Amazing service - everything and anything was taken care of. Good location on a peaceful beach. The room was one of the nicest we've stayed in. Good food.

Review 72:The restaurants are twice more expensive than room service !!! Their spa though good is quite pricey.

Review 73:Staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to help and assist for every small request

Review 74:Location was a bit remote - car or scooter rental efinately required if you want to journey out.

Review 75:Service and staff at the hotel were superb. Food was some of the best we have had at any hotel. Particular mention to Vasco, front of house who was so helpful during our entire stay

Review 76:It's not a dislike but a suggestion: the food at the restaurant wasexcellent - but the Thai food was on a separate menu which we sometimeshad to ask for. If I'm in Thailand, and particularly when I'mstaying away from the action at a retreat like Elements, I want to enjoyThai food not pasta and meatballs. So please include Thai choices in theofficial menu. It is truly fabulous, as was all the food, but shouldappear in the main menu for authenticity.

Review 77:We were lucky enough to be staying at a quiet time of year so we oftenhad the pool to ourselves and sometimes the restaurant if we wereeating late. The room was large, very comfortable and extremely well-appointed - the mobile phone to use on daytrips was an impressivetouch. But we wanted 4 days of doing nothing but relaxing, eating greatfood, sipping cocktails by the pool and undisturbed sleep - andthat's exactly what we got. Lovely attentive staff and a good dayspa were the icing on the cake.

Review 78:Not much to do around the area - need to go 45min-60min away Beach is small, not very well maintained/clean, and not very kids friendly Resort organizes services through external providers but do not guarantee the quality of service received from them - we had issue with one and no assistance from the resort to resolve it

Review 79:Nice boutique-style resort Individual villas are well designed (including private plunge pool and lounging area) Food is outstanding with very nice choice of breakfast a la carte and lunch/dinner options with daily specials

Review 80:Resort not kept up to 5 star rating. E.g. Pool light not working, water bottles not replaced, beach towels not replaced, water level in pool not maintained causing noisy pump running 24h.

Review 81:Helpful staff, cleaniness, quiet surraundings,

Review 82:Taling Ngam Beach is not for swimming at all because of low tides.

Review 83:We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel to celebrate our honeymoon in a garden villa with a private pool and we have only excellent impression on this hotel. The hotel provides excellent service, cuisine and spa. The territory is very green. No one disturbs you.

Review 84:As the hotel hv kitchen and we think that we can buy something to cookby ourselves. But the market is so far away from hotel and we just onlycan found family mart…so this point for us hv a little bit disappointed.Maybe hotel can arrange shuttle bus for hotel guest then it can beattract more tourists.

Review 85:Everything in hotel are very nice. Also, service are very good.

Review 86:nothing really...no black tea as a choice only herb tea would be my ownly thing

Review 87:rooms were comfortable, the fit ness room was great, breakfast was good, internet in room

Review 88:Nothing to done at night. Beach BBQ was not at the beach, it was at the restaurant. Beach is not so good (beatiful views, but swamp ground a few meters into the water).

Review 89:Big and clean rooms. Massage service. Amazing breakfast. Infinity pool. Meditation and Yoga free classes. If you want relax this is one of the best places in Samui (and cheaper than similar near hotels).

Review 90:Although connected to Elements and you are shown through as part of the 'arrival tour', Bamboo Bar next door is technically not part of the resort. So you have to pay in cash when eating there. Elements does hold good theme nights there and also offer free food and drinks on some nights. When I was checking out the resort was supposed to have arranged for transport to catch the bus to Bangkok. They had forgotten to do and I had to be rushed to catch the bus partway. It should have been more professionally arranged given it is a five star resort.

Review 91:The longboat trip to a nearby snorkelling site and beach was great. Was better than the snorkelling site at Ang Thong taken to by the Lomprayah tour company. Breakfast is delicious although more gourmet options would be appreciated. Pool is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great peaceful part of the island.

Review 92:Ants in our room, lots of mosquitos and flies in general, only had a low pressure rain shower, pool looked dirty, not enough towels in room or at the community pool, bicycles in poor condition, room and bathroom were really dark even with all the lights on, not a lot of food options (second restaurant wasn't open consistently).

Review 93:Private garden pool, but the water was mirky. Inexpensive meals.

Review 94:The sea in front of the hotel is not swimmable but take the kayaks for afew meters and you will be in a sea full of corals. Staff at therestaurant needs training in order to achieve better service

Review 95:The location Quiet Nature Kayaks Bikes Restaurant Yoga classes everymorning Upgrade Beach villa

Review 96:we like the staff of the resort. The beach is very nice and private. The rooms are big and very clean. Very high standards everywhere. Fantastic holiday experience

Review 97:We like the resort and everything about it. The spa is wonderful. Location is remote. New hotel, with beautiful design. Very nice staff. Good food. Very good value for money.

Review 98:Party lovers won't like it but exactly the location is a great advantage of 'Elements'. Far from the noise it's a real hide away place- wonderful, relaxing and quiet. The staff does everything to please you, every night there is either a barbecue, traditional thai dance or a fire show. The villas are beautiful, good light design to create intimate atmosphere- a thing that normally fails in most hotels.I fully enjoyed my time, hope to come back soon :-)

Review 99:Beach was not very nice. Entry hall not very impressive.

Review 100:I liked this was away from the crowds at the south end. Small but cute and great amentities. Loved the pool and food and rooms. Helpful service. Go to the spa everyday. Its great.

Review 101:Very good hotel located in a perfect spot, right on the beach. The rooms are clean, comfortable. Many extras included. Great fitness, spa and restaurants available.

Review 102:Best holiday. We stayed in a beautiful room, with sea view. Staff is great. Food is fantastic. Samui is a wonderful destination and Elements a very good choice to discover the island. Its located in the quiet south of the island.

Review 103:we like everything in this hotel. Fantastic holiday, with friendly staff, nice rooms, beautiful beach. The restaurant is fantastic, especially the a-la-carte breakfast

Review 104:We like the environment. The setting is beautiful ; very relaxed. Very friendly staff who is trying to do everything possible to make it a wonderful holiday. Nice big rooms. Very good food and spa

Review 105:Beach was not very nice, breakfast, it should have yoga classes in theevening too (for free).

Review 106:This hotel should have 4 stars. Please be aware not buffet breakfast, yoga classes included are only early morning @ 7.30 am...(not great ifyou want to wake up later on vacations...)

Review 107:The beach: beautifull but not to take a swim! I recommand you rent a carso you can tour beaches around the island with some very nice not faraway... And it is fine also to go out, turism and nigtlife. Too bad thehotel speed boat was out of order. I hope this service will be offeredsoon again.

Review 108:We enjoyed our stay very much: Great room, nice swimming pool, tastyrestaurant, very friendly staff, night events if you want, spa veryrelaxing, sport room well equiped. It is a very quiet place isolatedfrom the crowd (not the place for active nightlife close by).

Review 109:The hotel is quite far from any populated places, restaurants, shops etc. If you want to reach anything, you have to rent or hire some transport. The hotel provides renting of cars (expensive) and motorbikes.

Review 110:Rooms are vast and comfortable, very big bathtubs etc. The restaurant is expensive, but provides food of gourmet quality, besides, there is a second restaraunt at the beach, which is much simplier and cheaper. The beach is relatively small, but completely unpopulated, the bay is shallow, but there is a deep channel right at the hotel, quite suitable for swimming. The hotel provides free cayacs.

Review 111:Beach not for swimming. Breakfast a bit slow, and always mixed up.

Review 112:Private pool with shade. Bed was perfect. Essential oils burning in each room. Breakfast is good, a la carte. In room bar. Well furnished. Nice pool area.

Review 113:The see and the beach - they are realy on the low side of the scale andnot at all the level of the hotel. We beleive that the hotel couldinvest a bit in it and make it so much better. The way it is now, itresembles a swamp once you're in. The reason why we would or wouldnot choose and recomemd this hotel would definitly be the beach. Thereare resorts all over the world, much closer to home, it's not realyworth the hasle traveling half the globe if the sea and the beach arebelow expectations.

Review 114:The room and balcony (had everything we needed and more), the spa andmassage (trully amazing and envigorating), the food at the beachfrontrestaurant - we still speak of their curry and chicken soup, thelocation - not situates like most hotels in the horrible chawang andlamai areas but rather in a nature friendly enviroment of peace andquite (u can always get a taxi to go anywhere u want)

Review 115:the ubication was far away of everything but they have free bikes.

Review 116:we booked just one day cos was the last day of 3 months travelling and we wanted somethig special. It was the best option. We got the best room with private pool.

Review 117:Nice hotel far away from busy Chaweng Great hotel to relax and unwind ina quiet and beautiful area Nice staff and good Spa Can do some yoga andmeditation for free in the morning by the beach

Review 118:we had our little break in paradise. The hotel is very nice, with friendly staff, good service, beautiful room and nice design. The location is very remote, directly on the beach. Spa treatments are fantastic. Good food in the restaurant.

Review 119:We liked everything.

Review 120:everything was wonderful. Perfect place to relax and enjoy life/holiday, without having to worry about anything. Everything is very well organized, without ever having a feeling that you are a number. Very personalized service. Beautiful, delicious, professional, clean,....

Review 121:Beach outside of hotel area is littered.

Review 122:Friendly, helpful staff, away from the noise and buzz of Chaweng butwithin distance of great restaurants and sightseeing. Great sunsetcruise arranged by hotel.

Review 123:excellent service ; beautiful boutique resort with all facilities available. good food ; good spa facilities ; beautiful quiet location. nicely decorated clean rooms.

Review 124:We had a major problem, wherein despite a verbal confirmation from theirfront desk on a day's extension, the same was not put into theirsystem. On the given day we were out for a day long excursion. On ourreturn that evening, much to our horror, all our luggage was lying in ahalf packed condition in their common area. They had to vacate the roomfor another check in. Despite offering full details on the conversationregarding the extension (including names of staff members), the hotelmanager remained unapologetic (almost curt) - saying they were not inthe wrong. During the course of the checking, it was evident that theirown staff member was mistaken regarding the actual request and had givenapproval thinking of another date. However, what got communicated to usby their front desk was that our request for extension was granted andwe could stay on in the same room. How else would we have left for afull day excursion leaving our luggage unpacked in the room? Nobody fromthe hotel tried to contact us at all during the course of the day. Thehotel did not deem necessary to offer any compensation (except a freeride to our next hotel). Besides the above, the location of the hotel issuch that it is at one end of the island. One cannot do without a car toget to most locations of the island. And the time taken to the activeparts of the island is a good 40 minutes one way. One must keep that inmind before making this choice. The best area for us on the island wastowards Choeng Mon.

Review 125:The overall appearance is neat

Review 126:The food was ok but not worth the money.

Review 127:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and nice. (The pool was very nice.) It hotel lies in a quiet and peaceful location.

Review 128:we had a fantastic relaxing holiday in Elements. We got upgraded to a garden villa with private pool. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are nice and spacious,. Fantastic restaurant and spa.
