Reviews for Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa
Review 1:There wasn't a single thing I would change. It's probably the most expensive of the hotels in the area, but trust me when I say it was worth the splurge.
Review 2:The staff at Mirror Lake could not possibly have been more kind and accommodating. The property is beautiful, the views of the lake were lovely, and the proximity to downtown was extremely convenient. We can't wait to go back again!
Review 3:Beautiful setting! All staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed. Olympic sized pool! French chefs prepared excellent meals in both restaurants. Wood burning fireplaces in lobby area!
Review 4:Breakfast was a buffet and my husband and I were on a limited diet...no carbs or sugar. All we had was an omelet and sausage, juice and coffee...cost was approx $40 It would have been great if they gave you a choice other than the buffet.
Review 5:View from our room was beautiful
Review 6:The breakfasts were buffet, but VERY expensive for what it was.
Review 7:Very comfortable room with a wonderful seating area with a view to the outdoors. Nice location on Mirror Lake and an easy walk to everything in town. Our favorite part was being able to go right across the street to the lake and take advantage of the "various water crafts" available at no extra charge - a nice +!
Review 8:Every room should have coffee maker. Had to dress and go get the coffee.
Review 9:Room was very nice. Views from room great. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 10:Location - able to walk to everything. Scenery - beautiful views from everywhere. Food - excellent. Best steak I've ever had was in the View. Service - excellent.
Review 11:A luxury hotel should offer free wifi, in room coffee maker, and stocked bar.
Review 12:Spacious room, high celings, and balcony sitting area facing the water. Marvelous!
Review 13:The staff was very nice and friendly. Their honesty in returning a credit card we had left in the room was so exceptional. We would definitely highly recommend staying at the Inn - you feel like you are at "summer camp" but with all the conveniences, and the Spa is awesome! For my group we all had different services and they were all fantastic. Can't say enough about the Spa experiences. The location of the Inn is super too - walk to downtown Lake Placid.
Review 14:Location on the lake is great. Beautiful views. Love the sitting area with fire places, games. books etc... Love being able to walk to town and around Mirror Lake. The Waterfront had a lot to do. There is so much to do right here or close by that you really don't have to drive anywhere.
Review 15:The fridge wasn't stocked with anything. There should, at a minimum, be some bottled water in there.
Review 16:We loved the view from the room and the exceptional staff.
Review 17:The room was beautiful. The soft music at the bedside was a wonderful surprise when we arrived. All of the dining on-site was excellent - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Review 18:like lovely view; 1st room directly in front of pool was awful; changed room but was charged 25. more per day. staff was excellent, room service also; wish breakfast began earlier or that coffee AND bread available before 7:30 a.m. Also wish there was outdoor breakfast restaurant.
Review 19:There wasn't any we didn't like.
Review 20:Our stay at the Inn was fabulous. The views of lake and mountains were amazing. Location was walking distance to shopping and eating, parked our car and didn't need it until going home.
Review 21:Extended stay an extra night and had to change rooms, but all handled very well by staff.
Review 22:Very careful attention to rooms and public areas, excellent food options and enjoyed breakfast in main dining room, staff could not be nicer and outdoor facilities on Lake excellent. Indoor pool and hot tub was a delight and spa was well done, plus a terrific massage. Great location at the edge of town.
Review 23:Payments upfront and security deposit was confusing.
Review 24:The Inn's location was beautiful and the room view was amazing. Very convenient to downtown and yet long walks around the lake were scenic and quiet.
Review 25:The Inn is beautiful and has an incredible view of the Mirror Lake. My family enjoyed the lake and spent several days on the lake beach. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboats are available for guests to use.
Review 26:Advertising was seriously misleading. We were placed in a motel like "lodge" far from The beautiful main hotel (publicity only displays the latter, surprise surprise). The resort was mobbed; sometimes it felt like being in an airport lounge. For the price we paid we expected a completely different quality. One can stay in a Relais and Chateaux or Small luxury Hotels member hotel for less and get much more value.
Review 27:Lake george is beautiful. Range of activities for children.
Review 28:No coffee or tea makers No vanity in room Soap instead if bath gel Loungers in indoor pool need replacing A breakfast menu as well as buffet only
Review 29:Location
Review 30:Outdoor pool wasn't real clean.
Review 31:Inn is within walking distance to town. Swimming and boating is available on the lake, just across the street. Food was very good. Staff was very friendly.

Review 42:Everything! Room, restaurant, food, view

Review 67:not enough parking spa restrictions
Review 68:location
Review 69:Nothing not to like
Review 70:Everything
Review 71:Parking was a wee bit tricky for a large vehicle but we managed
Review 72:Loved the charm of the Inn and all it's nooks to explore and feel the comfort of home! LOVED the fact there wasn't any cell phone use! Our room overlooking the lake was beautiful and we had drinks and a lunch on the deck at the cottage too! After a cool day kayaking on lake placid it was so nice to sit by the fire with a glass of wine.
Review 73:Historic, gorgeous Inn with tons of character, both inside and out. Decorated in unique Adirondack style. Awesome whirlpool and indoor pool on the ground floor. Spa is renowned. Breakfast buffet in The View restaurant was delicious. Room was plenty big for three women and tastefully decorated. Hotel is perfectly located right on the lake and a close walk to everything in town.
Review 74:We believe the restaurants were very expensive considering what we paidfor the rooms.
Review 75:The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The resort isbeautifully decorated and very well taken care of.
Review 76:Having stayed at other resorts of this quality during our trip, it wasdisappointing that wifi was an extra charge as was breakfast. In fact,it was not made clear that breakfast was not included and we weresurprised when presented with a $50 check. My traveling companion is asmoker and understood the no smoking policy throughout the property. However, to be relegated to hovering over a trash can in the parking lotwas not a pleasant experience. In a resort of this quality it should beexpected that an outdoor covered seating area away from all buildingareas would be provided.
Review 77:We had a beautiful room with a beautiful view of the lake. Staff wasfriendly and professional. Restaurants and food very good!
Review 78:Breakfast not included-expected for a bed & breakfast type lodge No coffee/tea in rooms or in the building Booked reservation through Booking.com and when I checked in, Mirror Lake said they didn't have a reservation for us. I had to find my e-mail receipt from Booking.com and show it to the clerk and eventually after 20 minutes or so they said they "found" the reservation and that Booking.com must not have faxed the reservation to them? That was scary. There should be a better system between the booking agencies and Mirror Lake besides faxing reservations-perhaps an electronic download to avoid issues of not receiving faxes for guest reservations.
Review 79:Location Pretty grounds Clean Nice Fitness Center
Review 80:Rooms are very dark and feel slightly oppressive. Bar staff not greatand prices are ridculously high. Water presure in shower could be betterand I would prefer shower gel to soap. These are small items, but theyare important at these prices. Probably not worth the money compared toEuropean hotels at these prices.
Review 81:Very good location, nice views from room, parking on site. The rooms arelarge and well furnished with quiet air conditioning. Very good check-inprocedures and breakfast satff were friendly.
Review 82:The resort felt so warm and inviting and the pool/spa area was enclosed but made you feel like you were outside in an oasis. So many individual areas to sit and socialize in the common areas. The view from our room of the lake was spectacular.
Review 83:Really no negatives about our stay at the Mirror Lake Inn.
Review 84:Perfect location - quiet yet easy walking distance to the village and shopping. Plenty of knowledgeable staff always available. Outstanding food at The View restaurant - be sure to try the crabcakes.
Review 85:Very clean room, just a bit dusty in some less accessable spots. Because of the venue, nature of the hotel, desired clientelle, economic realities, etc., I understand that it's going to be pricey; however, I wish that rooms could be more affordable.
Review 86:Its a beautiful venue and a very well run operation. My compliments to the owners & management. You can tell that this is a labor of love. This is probably why its so alluring.
Review 87:Not really a complaint but the nightly room rates are expensive andobviously geared to a certain clientele... As a 30th wedding anniversaryget away, we splurged on your class of accommodation and don'tregret the expenditure... (We stayed in best room available, # 838 witha great view and lots of comfort)...For a normal weekend getaway, wewould need to consider a less expensive setting though.
Review 88:Great facility with very attentive and polite staff... The ambiance wasexcellent and we were able to enjoy our 30th wedding anniversary in avery welcoming environment... Staff were excellent and we received acongratulatory bottle of champagne to top of a great experience... Katiein the View was a doll and treated us with great attention...We saw herfor tea, breakfast, tea, and supper in the 2 day we stayed. We alsoenjoyed evening coffee and night caps in the Bistro and also in theCottage as well as Lunch at the Cottage... We basically had every mealor break at your facility with exception of 1st night supper in villageas we were strolling and exploring... Great memories for my wife andI... Thank you.
Review 89:It takes over 5 and a half hours to drive there. Seriously, there was nothing not to like.
Review 90:This resort/spa lives up to its billings. Prime location and beautifully restored and maintained facilities. Professional, friendly and helpful staff without the "attitude" sometimes found in upscale establishments.
Review 91:Going there for almost 13 years. Facilities seem to age, rooms cozy, butneed to be updated. At $450/night I expect more attention, staff isnice, but average. Somewhat lost its touch to make you feel at a specialplace. And that's what we used to love there.
Review 92:Quiet, comfortable, reliable.
Review 93:It was a little difficult getting into and out of the room from the parking lot in the snow at night..while they offered to help it didn't seem like a regular thing..
Review 94:The atmosphere and setting.
