Reviews for The Lewis & Clark Motel of Bozeman
Review 1:The bathrooms could use some updating and was a little loud with the glass sliding doors on all rooms. But overall nice and clean.
Review 2:Staff was great! Very friendly and knowledgable. We are from out of state and they were very helpful with information, maps , places to see and things to do. Lobby was warm and welcoming and they went above and beyond with comforts and offerings. Well maintained parking lot and access even with all the snow! Great location walking distance to food and entertainment. Beds were like giant pillows!
Review 3:Didn't really have a bad experience, but the second room was not as good as the first room we slept in.
Review 4:Stayed two different nights. The first night the room was excellent, the second night the room had a couple of issues. The hotel is dated but have done a very good job of keeping it clean. I don't know what mattress they use on the beds but haven't slept on a better one anywhere else.
Review 5:Rooms have sliding glass doors for main entrance. Blinds do not completely cover the doors which did not create a sense of privacy.
Review 6:Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Main lobby was cozy and quaint.
Review 7:The bathroom was outdated, older than me (I'm 34). The faucets constantly dripped and the room itself was very outdated for the price you pay. I ended up paying $105 a night for 3 nights. Next time I'm in Bozeman I'll try staying somewhere else.
Review 8:The beds and pillows were very comfortable.
Review 9:I had to stay a few extra days and was sad because I ended up having to move to another hotel - the Lewis and Clark was completely booked.
Review 10:We love the Lewis and Clark! It's the first place we check for availability when we're traveling to Bozeman. You can't beat the location, the staff and the beds!
Review 11:Smells too strong in lobby. I have perfume sensitivities and it got to be too much. Lobby too cluttered for my taste. Taking quite a bit of the knickknacks out of there would be more to my liking.
Review 12:Location - easy to walk to downtown and not needing to drive.
Review 13:We were a little apprehensive when we pulled up to the hotel due to its old fashioned style, And even more so when we entered the lobby and thought we were in an antique store. But were so pleasantly surprised by the staff and the rooms. The two young girls at the desk were so hospitable and nice. and even though the room was dated in areas it was perfect in the areas that counted. Most comfortable bed and the linens were so soft I actually found the tag on them so I could try and find them myself. They offered a shuttle up to main street and even came up later to pick us up after a few local brews. Breakfast was delicious. We will stay here again!!
Review 14:I complained about the loud, sad flute music they played out side our door. Nothing was done. I have stayed in nicer places for a whole lot less money
Review 15:Location & the bed
Review 16:I didn't like being woken at 1.30am then being kept awake until 5.30am by the noise from nearby rooms and the police being called to evict rowdy neighbours.
Review 17:the sliding glass doors are a bit sticky, and loud. although a very cool feature for the room, I really had a hard time with the noise from other guests' doors.
Review 18:loved the campy chic feel of the seventies. actual keys to the room and not a key card, and other hotel/motel fixtures from bygone eras really made it fun. that it was well maintained kept it from being gross.
Review 19:The hotel although comfortable was a little tired and slightly worn. Outside and in the lobby was piped jazz music which was wearing
Review 20:The staff pulled all of the stops out. The room was a good size and comfortable and the location was easily accessible and walking distance from the town centre
Review 21:If you have people walking around a lot/jumping in the room above you it can be annoying since it can be loud
Review 22:old school charm instead of run of the mill chain, location is walkable to downtown. Go for a top floor room.
Review 23:Music played all day. Sliding glass doors for entry meant everyone looked in or you closed drapes and it was a cave..with old 50s music playing all day. Price was really high and the signage was partially burned out which rubbed in the high price. Our friends paid more and no update bathroom.
Review 24:Location. Still used real keys. Updated bathroom. Location.
Review 25:The location to the downtown area was great and the staff super friendly. Loved the homemade breads and fresh fruit for breakfast. The lobby is adorable!
Review 26:A little relaxed with the housekeeping services.
Review 27:Perfect location, wonderful, quirky atmosphere with homey touches, courteous staff, ridiculously comfortable beds! And it's right next door to a fantastic food co-op!
Review 28:It was clean, comfortable, and the staff were remarkable. I left my purse with money and a credit card it in in the room. The staff turned it in and called me to let me know. That is wonderful to have honest staff!
Review 29:We were guests for 3 nights and I was a little taken back that you charged me $25 for the shuttle from the airport. I travel several times a year for business and this was a first.
Review 30:The staff was helpful and friendly.
Review 31:I slept in and did not get to try the breakfast.
Review 32:The staff was great and the room was extra large. There is co-op grocery next door, that has a lot to choose if you dont want to go anywhere. A laundry across the street,
Review 33:Old air conditioning whiich did not cool well and also noisy. Motel shows its age. Expensive.
Review 34:Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast which was European in presentation - good coffee
Review 35:Breakfast was a little basic but the home made banana cake and fresh fruit salad made up for that.
Review 36:Staff were very helpful and friendly, lobby area was really quaint and homely.
Review 37:I would have liked a little variety on the breakfast, and that could be a personal choice.
Review 38:I like that the room had been recently renovated. Bed and bedding was very nice, comfortable, and plenty of pillows
Review 39:We did not like the thin walls, nor the thin drapes covering the glass wall/ sliding glass door! We heard that was happening in the next room along with the the sliding door opening and closing! My suggestion to improve these complaints I've made is to, invest in black out curtains, be mindful of age of guests, i.e., party types vs. middle aged/ seniors, not being next door to each other ...IF this is possible! One more complaint, remove the snow/ice from the parking area next to the building , easy fix!
Review 40:The staff were kind, informative and friendly. I liked that the room furnished a hair dryer, fridge, many pillows and microwave! We appreciate Noah checking the neighbors at 2 a.m. - 2:30 due to the noise level! Also, the young lady who helped me when my iPad didn't connect to the wi-fi! Thank you!
Review 41:The building is antiquated and quirky, and not in a good way. the only way to get fresh air in the room is to open the sliding door, which opens directly onto the sidewalk. There are no windows. So if you want fresh air, you have to leave the door open, not the safest thing to do all night, and of course put up with the smokers standing right outside the doors of a hotel with all non-smoking rooms. They need to remodel the building
Review 42:Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, really great with suggestions of what to do in Bozeman and spot on with recommendations on places to eat. The location is great, near downtown and good restaurants.
Review 43:You might want to book a room on the upper level if noises above you, people walking around, bother you.
Review 44:Our room was very large. We were in a good location with a grocery store right across the street and restaurants very close by. The office staff was very helpful. The reception/breakfast area is full of history and artifacts from the area.
Review 45:This hotel needs to be updated. It smelled bad and the carpet was filthy and stained. We wouldn't stay there again.
Review 46:People were friendly and helpful.
Review 47:Seemed like room needed some tender loving care. Walls looked a little rough.
Review 48:Loved the lobby. Enjoyed fireplace and games. Nice to have a glass of wine while we sat in lobby. Will be nice when restaurant is open.
Review 49:Only access to the room is via the patio doors. Leaving the curtains open means others have full view of your room and contents.
Review 50:Once we got past the "sensory overload" that is the lobby, the hotel was a nice stay. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. We pulled chairs on to the balcony to relax and watch traffic/people in the evening. Friendly staff.
Review 51:There was construction on the street which made it was difficult to gain access. The entire room was outdated with walls cracking, sink and bathroom facilities worn with a wet musty smell. Electrical outlets were scarce and the air conditioning was old and inadequate for the size of the room. The upholstered seats were dirty and stained. The TV was an old projection style with limited selection of channels. I could have stayed in much newer cleaner hotel for less money. The only two positives were the staff and location. Time has passed this hotel by, what was once one of the most popular attractions in Bozeman is now in need of a total facelift. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Review 52:Location
Review 53:There is construction everywhere and it's difficult to get to the hotel. It's overpriced
Review 54:If you can't get closer to Yellowstone, this has decent highway access. Room was fairly comfortable, and friendly staff
Review 55:Poor location of light switches in and outside bath - oh well - can't have everything - that one would be hard to fix.
Review 56:I liked the style everywhere including the elevator. The beds were comfortable. The positioning of the sinks was great : one in bath and one outside bath.
Review 57:If the room faces the street might be very noisy at night. The room is over clean.
Review 58:Walking distance from the main shops and restaurants on main street. Big rooms.
Review 59:The rooms smelled a bit smoky.
Review 60:We were greeted with baked brie, wine tasting, candied pecans, and coffee! It was very welcoming and so were the staff. Some of our party was immediately drawn to the puzzle in the lobby, which might have kept them all night had we not needed to eat dinner. The location was great, less than a mile to numerous bars, restaurants, and historic buildings (shopping too, if that's your thing).
Review 61:stink on the bed curtains wear rotten holes in them the carpets where dirty the breakfast area was to small never again would i stay there i stayed in 16 motels in montana and this one was the worst
Review 62:the motel
Review 63:No door from ground floor allows chlorine smell and dampness from spa to come up to lobby giving a musty smell.
Review 64:The lobby area was very nice. Lots of little extra touches. Not your average generic motel.
Review 65:Staff showed they appreciated my business. I'll return. Good coffee joint 1 block East on the corner. Rockford Coffee.
Review 66:Needs a little remodeling. Banged up doors, furniture and structure a bit tired.
Review 67:Loved the lobby with all the history and also the wine tasting, treats etc.

Review 98:We loved the location and room was comfortable.

Review 109:Good breakfast for a motel, set in a beautifully decorated lobby.
Review 110:perfect location; great for exploring downtown Bozeman. New beds were wonderful! Great amenities and services in the lobby.
Review 111:The room smelled of smoke and people were very noisy above me.
Review 112:fun and charming!
Review 113:Place is a little dated.
Review 114:Pet friendly
Review 115:It was dingy and too warm for sleeping. No windows, only glass sliding doors, for fresh air. But you had to keep glass doors closed and locked for security. Air conditioner didn't work ver well. Dirty carpet as bathrooms.
Review 116:Not much.
Review 117:We had a room facing main street so it was a bit noisy.
Review 118:I enjoyed all the information and antiques in the lobby. The room was very spacious and bed super comfy. It was convenient to the msu campus to visit my son.
Review 119:Remodeled rooms were dingy, dirty, with furniture that should have been discarded long ago. Sheets were polyester and we slept in our clothes to avoid touching them.
Review 120:They put us in a room behind a construction wall. No view. Moved one room over. No view. Third request better. Another negative, outside stairs. Third floor walkup (elevator in the construction zone). Very icy parking lot.
Review 121:Nice TV.
Review 122:banana bread at continental breakfast; free alcoholic punch on New Year's Eve; extended check out on New Year's Day; cozy and clean; accessible by walking to downtown; great foyer with gift shop selling wine, beer, and local goods
