Reviews for B&B L'Etape Fagnarde

Review 1:After a long and cold walk in Hohes Venn we enjoyed our stay very much: Great hosts, clean and comfy room and a jummy breakfast. Not to forget the sweet little cat giving you a cuddle in the breakfastroom.

Review 2:[This does not relate to Etape Fagnarde!] If you stay on a Wednesday night make sure you book a restaurant in Spa. Most are shut as seems this is Spa's unofficial night off!

Review 3:Very friendly and hospitable. My room was large and comfortable. The house was very quiet overnight despite being full. My plans meant I requested a slightly earlier breakfast than usual. This was not a problem and the full breakfast was available.

Review 4:Lovely place with a very lovely kitten. Owners are very friendly. The property is so beautiful and located in a very nice area of Spa. Just 10 min walk to the center.

Review 5:The only thing which could be improved is the lighting. The bedside lamp was inadequate to read by.

Review 6:The friendly welcome and attractive surroundings, both inside and out. Nice touches such as fresh flowers in the room, a bottle of water.

Review 7:A fridge in the room would be nice, but there was a fridge we could use.

Review 8:Nice big bedroom/ bathroom. Very friendly staff. Only 10 mins walk to center of Spa.

Review 9:The only (rather minor) thing I could mention is that the bed is a bit too short, but probably only if you're above 1.90m

Review 10:Very beautiful & special, both the building and the rooms, with a lot of attention to detail. T Very friendly owners.

Review 11:This has nothing to do with the hosts but one night is not enough. We were in Spa for a wedding so we only needed to book one night and were away most of the time. I would suggest that anyone interested makes sure they spend at least one full weekend at B&B l'Etape Fagnarde.

Review 12:We had the very cosy and comfy guesthouse which felt like a home away from home; our only regret was that we did not have time to enjoy the balcony and garden. The hosts were very warm, welcoming and accommodating. There is not a single bad thing to say.

Review 13:I made the mistake at not looking at the terms and conditions whenbooking this hotel. I had to give 20 days notice to avoid losing thewhole amount due. I gave 14 days notice to cancel 2 rooms. We occupiedfour other rooms, but paid for six. The proprietor was only willing torefund if he could find replacements in 14 days. So lost around £500.With terms and conditions like this, I am not surprised he didn'tfind anyone

Review 14:Hotel had a lot of character

Review 15:Made to feel very welcome. Immaculate Guest House, amazing breakfasts along with good facilities, eg sun loungers in the garden, tea and coffee making in our room. Ten minute walk takes you into the centre of Spa

Review 16:a little bit chilly inside the room... but I m Italian so does not count

Review 17:friendly welcomed, really nice house, wide and clean room! Breakfast is absolutely a plus! fresh croissant and homemade jam!

Review 18:None.

Review 19:We were allocated the cottage as a family room, which is more than adequate for the purpose. The cottage is in fact a fully equipped gîte with every available convenience including a large balcony - in fact a garage roof - for sitting out in the sun. Very good standard of furniture and fittings, and very clean. Nothing is lacking and if it were I'm sure that the obliging owners would do all in their power to provide it. We had the breakfast provided by the hotel and had evening meals in restaurants, so did not use most of the kitchen facilities, but had we wanted to do so nothing is lacking. There is also a very large garden with facilities for children's play. It's a 10 minutes walk into town to the numerous bars and restaurants. Thoroughly recommended, we would unreservedly stay there again - and may well!

Review 20:Wifi was spotty in the cottage.

Review 21:Proprietor Marc was a great host. The cottage apartment for four people was great - 3 bedrooms, kitchen, washing machine. 5-10 minute walk into Spa. Would stay there again.

Review 22:Not been able to stay longer or in better circumstances. There isnothing we could fault this place on. Thanks to stress of trip we nevergot to book massage, very sad about that...maybe next time?!

Review 23:Everything. The amazing attention to detail and decor, a most charmingproperty. The way the owners put themselves out to help us when carbroke down and aa declined to honour European cover, this despite factI am blue badge disabled....ruined our trip, very stressful andexpensive but they were so good, even sorting out extra cases to putcar contents in!

Review 24:We had a large room and unusually large bathroom. There was also a separate seating area with hot drinks available for guests. The property had a large garden and was within walking distance of the town centre, though we drove because the weather was bad. There was plenty of parking and the breakfast was good. The owner was there to welcome us when we arrived.

Review 25:I cannot say anything bad about our stay at the L'Etape Fagnarde.

Review 26:The location of the guest house was ideal being a short walk into Spa town and just a short drive to the circuit. The room was spacious, light and airy and the beds were very comfortable. The facilities were very good

Review 27:My wife and I stayed here for a weekend anniversary getaway. Owners very friendly and helpful in all ways. Even let me borrow their wine opener because we forgot ours! Cozy room and delicious breakfast the next morning, while also 15 min walk to the actual town. Can't really ask for much more, would stay again in a heartbeat.

Review 28:Quiet, country like setting yet a short walk to the center of Spa. Staff prepared a great breakfast every day and our room was always ready when we returned from a long day at the track.

Review 29:Excellent friendly couple, sauna was excellent and the rooms are outstanding. We were leaving early in the morning so they did breakfast for us early, cant recommend it enough.

Review 30:We could not stay long enough!

Review 31:Wonderful hosts and property. The location is ideal to wander the town of Spa or the surrounding countryside. The Ravel trail system is about 15min away.

Review 32:We had to take too masny stairs to go to our room which was on the third floor with no elevator.

Review 33:The owner picked us up at the train station.

Review 34:the hosts are very kind, and everything is tip top.

Review 35:none

Review 36:excellent B@B, great house, spotless clean and very agreable for afordable rates.

Review 37:Lovely old house with superb friendly hosts. Delightful area

Review 38:We stayed during F1 at Spa so the price was high

Review 39:Lovely property, well serviced and very friendly owners. We enjoyed our stay

Review 40:Everything was perfect and the owners were very nice and welcoming people. We would like to come back!

Review 41:Breakfast was very good quality but was a little limited in choice on occasion.

Review 42:Warm welcome, super clean and nice location

Review 43:No dislikes

Review 44:Warm welcome, spotless, fantastic rooms and location, clean, just perfect

Review 45:Large and very quiet room, friendly helpful staff, easy parking. Pleasant very well maintained gardens. Lovely setting.

Review 46:Nothing negative

Review 47:Nice people , nice house , good area , walking distance the town

Review 48:Nice area lots to do good shops and restaurants,

Review 49:Feels like at home.

Review 50:We really appreciated the nice contact and the suggestions and support in activities (restaurants, biking, hiking ...).

Review 51:No complaints

Review 52:All good. Good hosts. Excellent breakfast

Review 53:departing

Review 54:We love staying here, lovely house, good breakfast, great location...

Review 55:Surrounded by trees.

Review 56:Absolutely nothing!

Review 57:Welcoming hosts and a beautiful property. Great location - only a 5 minute walk down to the town. Huge bedroom and bathroom - very comfortable indeed.

Review 58:We have no complaints.

Review 59:We really liked our stay here. We were travelling with little baby and we had prepared everything needed for a small child. The place is very clean and cozy and our bathroom was huge. We liked a lot an idea of a minibar in the second floor. Breakfast was very good and owners very friendly people. We would like to come back one day.

Review 60:I wanted to stay... I had to leave to catch my train....

Review 61:Everything was wonderful. The house is amazing and the decoration really beautiful. I was treated like a prince by Francoise and Marc who are extremely nice! The breakfast was perfect. The room was really comfortable and spacious, and the view is also great! L'Etape Fagnarde is the biggest reason why I prefer B&B instead of big hotels. The atmosphere is way more "warm" and they really consider you as a guest and not as a client.

Review 62:Hum... Nothing really.

Review 63:The Owners, really kind and Helpful. The super complete Breakfast with local products and super good scrambled eggs! The super comfy bed and a really charming bedroom. Honestly we will go back there for sure! I forgot to mention the quiet Sauna in the Basement..really enjoyed it after the ride from Brussels.

Review 64:There was nothing about the B&B that we didn't like.

Review 65:Welcoming, friendly management. Very comfortable, spacious accommodation. A delightful stay.

Review 66:Nothing

Review 67:Very friendly welcome by the owners, room was spacious and comfortable. Nice and yummy breakfast, we were even allowed a glimpse in the kitchen and the home-made jam room...

Review 68:Amazingly beautiful old house with spacious, rooms which are decorated with the 19th century in mind, while still lack none of the modern "must" conveniences. Very friendly owners-couple.

Review 69:Tea and coffee making facilities should be in each room rather than on top floor which disturbs other sleeping guests

Review 70:Good position and well kept and run b & b

Review 71:The approach road had been completely dug up and was like a building site making access difficult.

Review 72:Comfortable and spacious rooms with useful area on top floor with drink making facilities and table and chairs - good for groups travelling together. Excellent breakfast buffet in lovely dining room. House is set in very pleasnat grounds and is quiet, but only a 10m walk to the centre of Spa. Free WiFi a bonus.

Review 73:Beautiful house set in lovely grounds. Owners really friendly and helpful. Our room was simply gorgeous (and huge!). Really good breakfast buffet. Town is within walking distance.

Review 74:Fantastic hotel! Staff was super friendly. Room was big, nice views, quiet and nicely decorated. Bathrooms were bigger than other hotel rooms I've stayed before. Even the bathroom had a window where you could see trees. Best scrambled eggs I've ever tried. If you stay in this hotel, do ask for them when having breakfast We loved absolutely everything from this hotel, totally worth staying

Review 75:Road being relaid - had been mentioned in reviews last autumn but we hadexpected work to be finished by our visit in June. Access quite tricky.

Review 76:Warm welcome by son as owners away. Lovely period villa with largegarden, ideal for family relaxation. Huge bedroom with 4 poster bed.Quiet location. Extensive choice for breakfast for just the two of us.

Review 77:Cozy, charming and quite place. This was exactly what we've been looking for for an week-end escape to Spa. Hosts's hospitality was remarkable and disarming which easily makes one to want to return one day!

Review 78:The atmosphere was top notch. The hosts were very friendly and very accommodating to the desires of the guests. Breakfast was fantastic. The location with regards to the city center was very good and within a short walk. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Spa.

Review 79:The town 'Spa' is nice for a few days but after that you'veseen it all..

Review 80:Lovely stay, very nice people, nice rooms, breakfast is good and thesauna is amazing. We will defenitely come back.

Review 81:Nothing to say here. Agree with previous comments about the awful state of the road but that is not the fault of the owners.

Review 82:Excellent bed and breakfast. Rooms very cosy and individually styled, every comfort taken care of. Appreciated the communal second floor tea and coffee making facilities - even beer and wine in the fridge! Delicious buffet breakfast. Françoise and Marc make you feel very welcome, we would certainly recommend it.

Review 83:The owner was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English . The house/hotel is wonderful - situated in a very quiet area and built perhaps around 1900 with huge rooms, both communal and our bedroom. Our very large room room had a large double, canopied bed and a full size bed for our son plus 2 leather armchairs, table etc and it was still spacious. The decor and furnishings were all of a very high standard, the bathroom was bigger than most double rooms with an excellent shower, double basin, again beautifully decorated. Excellent, controllable heating, good hairdryer. There was an area next to our room with sofa,Pc etc which you could use and also a room upstairs where you could make tea and coffee and relax. Excellent breakfast - high quality and very fresh - much more than the usual eggs, meats, cereals, croissants , yoghurts, local jams and much more and all of the very best quality. Only a few minutes walk to the town centre. I cannot recommend it highly enough and it is very unusual for me to say that as my husband will testify...

Review 84:Lack of tea/coffee facilities in room, although they are available on second floor lounge. The car got extremely muddy due to the road works on the road leading to the B & B. This is not the fault of the owners however.

Review 85:Very friendly staff, excellent rooms with good services including good wifi

Review 86:It was a great find for us. I am writing a book about walking in the Ardennes and it was an excellent base. Francoise and Marc are delightful hosts and the breakfasts will last you the day. Faultless, we would say and would certainly stay there again on any future visit to Spa.

Review 87:At the moment there are roadworks on the approach to the house and it is a little hard to find. Actually the tourist office was hard to find - once we got there, they had all the information we needed. Perhaps a sign from the main road would be helpful.

Review 88:We appreciated the warm and friendly and helpful welcome from out host after a frustrating trip. The room was charming and spacious with a self-service area on our floor for minibar, snacks etc on an honesty system. Breakfast was varied and generous. We were there for motor racing so didn't get a lot of time there but it was a comfortable and restful haven after a day's busy and noisy motor racing.

Review 89:Road to it is under construction, but hopefully that gets fixed soon. Price for the Formula One weekend was high, but that's to be expected, I guess. Their normal rates seemed reasonable.

Review 90:Owners were very friendly - nice people. Lovely & quiet area. Beautiful house. 10-minute walk into town.

Review 91:Spa center at walking distance but, in a villa area with a large well kept garden and a beautifully restored family house dating to the "Belle Epoque" Free parking, WiFi and sauna and a very tasty breakfast buffet. The couple running this five room hotell are very friendly and will go a long way to make their guests stay a perfect one.

Review 92:The only negative is that it is situated up an unmade road, whichcaused some stress to our driver in view of his ultra low profile andexpensive tyres.

Review 93:Excellent bed & breakfast establishment. Convenient for racetrack at Spa-Francorchamps, and easy walking distance of the town of Spa. Proprietersvery friendly and accommodating. Spacious, quiet and clean.

Review 94:Some interior room decoration is simply old and not vintage. Thebeds are quite soft if you're not used to that. Absolutely not adeal-breaker.

Review 95:Very pleasant reception and owners. The location is great for Spa. Allour requests were met. We opted for the scrub and massage in-house andit was brilliant! Oh yes, the jam is almost worth the trip itself.

Review 96:Comfortable, welcoming and well situated at walking distance from the city center but in a calm, green residencial area. Our room was very spacious and very clean, the bed absolutely comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty (homemade jams!) and served in a very nice dining room with view on the huge garden.

Review 97:Very clean facilities, very nice owners, breakfast included eggs to order, and nice short walk from the city centre. We enjoyed our overnight stay and recommend to others - you won't be disappointed.

Review 98:being at the last floor of the house (below the roof)

Review 99:all: food, service, customer oriented, facilities, cleaning, etc.

Review 100:Lovely place in a quit environment and just 15min walk to the town center.

Review 101:Close to great walks and the nature. You sleep very well in the quiet surroundings! Only 10 minutes walk to the city centre

Review 102:Check in is from 4 pm , not very flexible and practical if you arrive early.

Review 103:Sauna, Personnel, quite place, close to centre

Review 104:Our room was very spacious and quiet. The owners are very friendly and the breakfast was great.

Review 105:Very friendly staff, beautiful building

Review 106:A lovely bed and breakfast in a great location. Very welcoming and friendly Good breakfast Spacious and comfortable rooms

Review 107:Was all good!

Review 108:Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff!

Review 109:Very welcoming owners. A very clean, very comfortable place to stay

Review 110:Breakfast was a little uninspiring (same ham and cheese for 3 days).

Review 111:Very friendly owners. Large room and bathroom.

Review 112:We could not stay longer

Review 113:Everything... the room, breakfast, lovely grounds, friendliness and hdlpfulness of hosts, location... home from home

Review 114:Not applicable

Review 115:We used this as a base for the Belgium Grand Prix, it was ideal.

Review 116:Very bad road leading to property. No fans in rooms.

Review 117:Friendly couple, large clean rooms.

Review 118:Lovely place to stay, the owners make if feel special.
