Reviews for Avenue Boutique Hotel

Review 1:Just about cleaning. When the small night lamp was on we could see a hand/fingerprint all around the back of the bed. Could be cleaner

Review 2:A really nice personel, great welcome. And wanderful breakfast.

Review 3:Could of done with tea/coffee making facility's but no big deal really, just nice to have a quicky before bedtime and breakfast.

Review 4:Relaxed atmosphere Friendly staff Chocolate for breakfast alongside bacon and eggs :-) Comfortable clean rooms Close to seafront

Review 5:Everything was wonderful, but it's a standard hotel, with the usual decoration. Nothing special (but that is hardly a critic)

Review 6:Location is very close to the beach. Nevertheless very quiet room Huge choice in Breakfast!! Very friendly people who helped with a smile.

Review 7:The hotel is well situated: very near the train station, beach and shops. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast spread was fantastic. I was even offered freshly cooked bacon and eggs on top of the continental breakfast, which includes Belgian chocolate. The hotel has a nice art deco feel to it.

Review 8:The tiny old TV in our room was placed badly, so we hit it several times...A little fridge would have been nice as well(balcony had to do it) and the bed was 2 separated mattresses...

Review 9:The breakfast including blocks of chocolate to scrape of from was quite good. The beach and promenade are just a few min to walk...

Review 10:The rooms are a bit small and not well insulated so that you hear your neighbours as if they were taking showers in your own bathroom!

Review 11:The proximity of the seashore and the famous pier; of the shops and restaurants including a one Michelin-star restaurant on the same street;

Review 12:The breakfast room was too small. we had to wait around 40 minutes to get a table and then the breakfast bar was not replenished and the hot food was cold. When we complained the women in charge was dismissive and said we had to be patient. She was not prepared to knock anything off the room price if we went and had breakfast elsewhere as I do not expect to be kept waiting that long. Poor service & facilities. I would not reccomend staying at this hotel unless improvements are made.

Review 13:Good location near to town centre & promenade. Room was good standard although traffic was noisy.

Review 14:Toilet squeezed between wall an shower leaving very little room for the larger persons .don't let this put you off though around its a nice place.

Review 15:Comfortable little hotel with very nice helpful staff . nice rooms and a great breakfast.

Review 16:A bit tricky to find, even with using a TomTom.

Review 17:Excellent location, great staff, very good breakfast. Secure parking (Essential,25 Euros).

Review 18:It's always a difficult check-in when using booking.com If hotels don't like it they should not be on booking.com

Review 19:We had to check in before 10pm... We didn't know the before the owner called us...

Review 20:The breakfast was excellent

Review 21:The secure garage parking. Excellent Location.

Review 22:nothing all posative

Review 23:staff and management very friendly and helpfull. very good choice for breakfast

Review 24:Location, cleanliness, breakfast and sympathy of the staff.

Review 25:Bedroom a bit dated in all aspects

Review 26:The Staff were great , very helpful & friendly , location was perfect for me .

Review 27:Friendly efficient staff and easy atmosphere. Really good hotel for my needs. As one person once said " I shall return!"

Review 28:TV monitor hard to miss with your head....

Review 29:Warm room and very quiet....Excellent breakfast...

Review 30:very friendly staff And value for money

Review 31:As I mentioned above, I liked the location of the hotel, the good room given to us and the fiendliness of the staff.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Booked for Bathroom and got shower. Booked for double room and got two single beds pushed together. Television did not work. Website said Tea/Coffee facilities in room and it was not. We wont come back.

Review 34:The two girls who worked Breakfast and the hotel during the day was very nice, helpfull. They worked extremely hard. We never saw any other staff so the hotel was run on a shoestring.

Review 35:no refrigerator in our room.

Review 36:Close to train and tram station & beach (walking distance). Friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet (incl delicious chunks of chocolate). Clean rooms. Various restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Review 37:Rather thin walls, and children in the room next to mine were wide-awake at 6am!

Review 38:Good room and breakfast, helpful staff. Convenient location for beach, and for station/coastal tram.

Review 39:nothing negative!

Review 40:No negative points to the hotel itself; i's an old building, shortly renovated, facts, one has to keep in mind. No soundproof walls, but this was no major issue. Excellent cleanliness, friendly staff and owner, great breakfast and a 3 minutes-walk to the beach and city-center. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Review 41:Blankenberge is a little quiet on winter nights but did find an excellent restaurant and local bar. English widely spoken

Review 42:Good location to visit Bruges and the coast. Excellent week end hotel

Review 43:"WiFi available in all hotel areas" is not true. We had to go to the lobby or to the hallway to get reliable WiFi signal. The hotel is situated on the main city street (with cars and trams) and might be a little noisy for someone (even with heavy blinds closed) but this wasn't a big problem for us.

Review 44:Excellent location, just a few minutes from the beach promenade Nice decor Good breakfast buffet choices

Review 45:Position of TV in room alongside restricted movement meant I had to duck (I'm average height) to avoid bashing my head on the metal TV bracket - not good! (especially as I hit my head at l.east once...)

Review 46:staff & service. Priced just right

Review 47:The fire instructions were inadequate and had there been an incident, it would have been hard to have known what to have done, or how to have escaped. Awareness should be made to every guest on check-in and your hand-drawn plans are inadequate. Also, no evening service at the desk. Communicating via an entryphone does not make a good initial impression.

Review 48:Your member of staff, Gina, does you great credit and I hope she is amply rewarded. Apart from being an excellent housekeeper, she went out of her way to secure us a better room as we were on our honeymoon and had originally been given a bed that was made up from two single beds. Very friendly, kind lady who does a great professional job. A credit to you!

Review 49:never experienced anything like this before in my life, for a hotel to 'shut down' your room cause your 10minutes late for check out was shocking..they switched off the electric so no lights either..then a metal shutter came down the balcony window and completely blackened out the room... i didnt know what to fink..a simple phone call would have suficied..i thought check out was 11 however it was 10.30...a very rude approach to kicking your customers out ..literally!!!! Other than this the hotel was ok, i wouldnt stay there any more than a day or two, nothing comfortable about the hotel

Review 50:great location and value for money, staff were helpful.. room was clean and tidy

Review 51:We arrived at the hotel at approx 6pm, the receptionist booked us a table in the restaurant at 7pm, but due to getting lost in town looking for an ATM, we missed our dinner reservation, and we were still charged €50 for a meal that we didn't even have!! We were told it is "company policy", but when we asked to be shown the policy, we were told, "sorry but you cannot see this".

Review 52:It is in a prime location, close to the tram station, railway station and also beach, restaurants etc.

Review 53:The check in experience was very bad: first they didn't find my reservation and then they gave me a lame excuse about other people with the same last name, although the booking clearly stated my first name too. The wifi signal was not there in our room, very annoying! The owner spoke to me in a very arrogant way, not welcoming at all and no apology for the inconvenience of the booking confusion so we started off with a bad feeling and for this reason we will never go to the hotel again.

Review 54:We went for a new year's eve party and the hotel was on walking distance from the railway station and also near to the location of the event.

Review 55:Late checkout is expensive.

Review 56:Chocolate as much as you can eat at breakfast. :-)

Review 57:Very comfortable Friendly, helpful staff Good location Service and accommodation very good

Review 58:We like the location, friendly staff and they serve a really good continental breakfast. We have stayed here on many occasions.

Review 59:niets

Review 60:alles

Review 61:Very poor noise insulation between rooms. Garage space expensive.

Review 62:Retro atmosphere. Good breakfast included. Garage space.

Review 63:Convenient location, good value for money with breakfast included
