Reviews for Sandia Peak Inn

Review 1:Our stay at the SandiaPeak Inn was exceptional and will be the only hotel we stay in when in Albuquerque. Kay, the owner, greeted us weary travelers as if we were family and immediately helped us feel at home. The hospitality was really unprecedented and at a great price. I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a good rest while on the road.

Review 2:We got caught in the blizzard of 2015 and couldn't make our reservation. I called and they changed our stay to the next night. Very nice! Clean, quiet, great price! Would stay again.

Review 3:The owner is really nice and friendly. We were late for breakfast and she offered us coffee and bananas. Even though it is a little bit far from the old town and uptown, it was a nice an dpleasant stay. We checked in lately and got an upgrade on a suite.

Review 4:The woman at the front desk was so sweet and helpful. The room was very clean and a great value. We were pulling a trailer and the easy parking was also a huge plus.

Review 5:Perfect! Room was spotlessly clean with HUGE comfortable bed, high speed wifi, great location, very easy to find after a long day's driving. There's a groovy looking pool but I didn't have time to check it out. I'd definitely stay there again.

Review 6:The hotel isn't in the greatest part of Albuquerque but there is a tall metal security fence and the only thing we noted were occasional vehicles racing on the street out in front. I think we may have heard two or three loud vehicles earlier in the evening and then everything was quiet for the duration.

Review 7:This was the last stop on a week-long trip to New Mexico and we wanted a place with a little local flavor. The Sandia Peak Inn was everything I was looking for. The room was clean and had a Western flair, the bed and fixtures all looked new, everything looked great. The WiFi was strong and easy to connect to. The breakfast was as extensive as it has been elsewhere during our trip to Santa Fe and Clovis. The room was clean and comfortable and the real wood furniture was a nice touch. We had a delightful stay and would return again the next time we're in Albuquerque.

Review 8:We have no complaints.

Review 9:The staff was wonderful! They gave great suggestions for meals and activities. They were warm, friendly and helpful. I would stay there again and again. Really liked the place and people.

Review 10:The owner, I'm assuming, was rude. I payed for a king size and she wanted to give me a dbl/queen Barbar.

Review 11:The room was clean and a very nice mattress.

Review 12:Continental breakfast. We rarely partake yet it is a cost to hotel and us. Tiny tiny indoor pool.

Review 13:Owner managed and she is very concerned about her hotel and guests. Clean! Nice outdoor decor.

Review 14:Location is poor for a single, lady traveller without a car. Not a good area and taxi driver told me to be careful

Review 15:Lovely helpful staff. Clean room and great price.

Review 16:Ancoor at the desk was bar far one of the best and friendliest we've had . . and we've traveled the world. The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was filling and fresh.

Review 17:Only thing I would oick on is the strong lighting outside the rooms.

Review 18:All good! The owner was very approachable, friendly and seeking to please her guests.

Review 19:The very friendly staff and the cleanliness of everything around the property. The warm pool was a welcome relief after a day of sightseeing. The staff bent over backwards to make us happy.

Review 20:Breakfast could be just a tick better A bit of road noise, but what the heck it is on Route 66

Review 21:Route 66 and the Rio Grande Old Town area. Easy drive on Rio Grande to I-40 and then to where ever one should like to go and likewise an easy return to the motel from I-40

Review 22:Nothing bad at all.

Review 23:From the word go we really liked Kay our cheerful, friendly, welcoming receptionist. The room was great, car parked directly outside our door, decor of room & hotel authentic. Spotless, good free wifi, location to bus link into old town, el Charritos restaurant and Carrefour shops within walking distance. Very good continental breakfast.

Review 24:This motel was expensive considering everything. However it happened to be the balloon festival weekend (we were in town for a wedding) and I believe the prices are less other times.

Review 25:Very comfortable bed. Clean rooms.

Review 26:There were no negatives with this stay.

Review 27:The staff was accommodating in every way. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and well maintained.

Review 28:The room and bathroom were very clean, the beds very comfortable. The decor is better than any place I have stayed in before. Pam at the front desk is so charming, treated us with the utmost respect and was always willing to help with all our questions. We had a wonderful stay there and left with a very warm feeling about Albuquerque in general. Eunice Scott

Review 29:No complaints.

Review 30:Staff were very friendly and accommodating. During the Balloon Festival, they offered the breakfast beginning at 4 am for those of us going to the dawn event.

Review 31:This motel is a great place to stay. The owner is kind and the morning breakfast was delicious. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean.

Review 32:Air conditioner was a bit noisy but worked just fine.

Review 33:Convenient to Old Town and the ABQ Biopark and Aquarium. Very clean rooms with helpful staff in room coffee maker, fridge, microwave. Good service and the least expensive gas in Albuquerque was right across the street.

Review 34:I was a bit leery of the neighborhood, but never felt unsafe. It all was fine.

Review 35:The owner was very kind and helpful. Continental breakfast was good. Probably the cleanest place we have ever stayed at any price!

Review 36:I liked the location. It is more walkable then being by an interstate. It is a smaller and older motel but my room was clean and the bed comfortable. I'll return my next trip.

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:Very clean rooms and grounds. Well decorated with a Southwestern motif. Very, very friendly staff. Close to Old Town Albuquerque and various places to eat and gas stations. Would definitely stay there again. An excellent value for the price.

Review 39:Absolutely nothing!

Review 40:Great service and they couldn't have tried to please us more! I travel all over the world and have never had a better quality stay

Review 41:Enjoyed our stay for 3 night's .Traveled around N.M., next 2 day's and returned to Sandia Peak for our last 2 nites. Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Nicely landscaped rooms very clean and pleasant. would highly recommend.

Review 42:The owner/hostess, Kay, was very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed talking with her in the morning as we prepared our breakfast and she was making sure the breakfast area was stocked with food and clean. Our room was always very clean when we returned from a day out.

Review 43:No problems at all!!

Review 44:Wonderful, helpful lady at desk. Delicious breakfast. Cute homey Inn. Large comfortable room. Quiet. Very clean. Close to Old Town, zoo and aquarium. Would definitely stay here again!

Review 45:Location - although off the i40, it was a bit further away from big attractions (the old town, downtown, The actual Sandia Peak). If you have a car though, it's easy to get to these places anyways.

Review 46:Kay was very nice when we checked in! Room was clean & comfortable. Parking was a plus. Left before breakfast so can't comment on that.

Review 47:Good location. Close to Rio Grande, Zoo, Botanical Garden, Old Town Not a good neighborhood, but the parking lot is fenced and there was security day and night

Review 48:The doors opening out onto the parking lot. Tufted sheets.

Review 49:The friendliness of the clerk/owner, who convinced us to stay there, the size of the room, the comfort of the bed and the cleanliness of the room. All beautiful, really glad we stayed there.

Review 50:On line it appeared that they were pet friendly but when we arrived they said no pets unless we paid $50 extra. It should be advertised that way. The manager finally gave us a reduced rate but I feel it should be open and obvious when you book.

Review 51:We got two rooms and both were non smoking but one smelled like smoke. We got in very late and were offered a suite but then told we had to pay the difference. Beds were very soft and you tended to roll into the middle.

Review 52:The staff was very friendly.

Review 53:The second time we stayed in room 204. The beds felt like there were no box springs on them. Plain sheets, not enough towels. Only one lamp worked. Both times the WIFI was too low for kids to play games or watch videos. OK for email, though.

Review 54:The first night we were there, we were in room 208, I believe, three queen beds, fridge and microwave. The beds were so comfortable. The sheets were incredible. Everything was clean. Enough towels for four people. Free breakfast included do it yourself waffles. Quiet.

Review 55:We arrived at 10.15 PM, and no one was there to check us in. We tried ringing the bell, knocking, and calling them (unfortunately I ended calling the wrong number! I guess it happens after you've driven 500 miles and was ready to hit the sack), but no one answered.

Review 56:Could occasionally hear the road noise but I don't think it kept us from sleeping well.

Review 57:Great accommodations for the price. There was a nice variety of foods included in the free breakfast. Staff was very helpful.

Review 58:The desk in our room was a bit small to do computer work on for an extended period of time.

Review 59:The bed was comfortable, the staff was pleasant. Although a bit far removed from the downtown area, we enjoyed the neighborhood.

Review 60:nothing that I don't like in this place.

Review 61:It is a beautiful and clean place, at the begging I thought this is going to be like any motel I used to go in Texas, but I was wrong, this place is clean and beautiful too, the staff are friendly they gave us a higher price room for the same price I have paid. The room was super clean, the bathroom too and the break fast was good too.

Review 62:Indoor pool was very small...thought it would be bigger. (It's approx 10x10 square and 4 feet deep)

Review 63:I liked the friendly service, the free WiFi (essential for small kids who need Netflix before bed) and the spacious room we were given (even if I had to pay for the handicap upgrade).

Review 64:The pool and jacuzzi advertized were all one pool/jacuzzi, smaller than any I have seen. The manager was difficult to work with--wanted us to take a "suite" for more money, with more beds than we needed.

Review 65:It was clean. The breakfast was better than most continental breakfasts we have experienced. Location was okay.

Review 66:close to a major street and can be noisy on the weekend with traffic driving by. Not the greatest area.

Review 67:staff was very nice upon check in and gave us advice on where to eat. Very clean room and lots of furniture in the room. The hotel wasn't in the greatest area but it was nicely decorated and it set itself apart from the area.

Review 68:The only thing that didn't work for me was the computer they provided in the lobby.

Review 69:Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice furnishings. Great care was given in all aspects of providing special accommodations.

Review 70:Everything, staff was friendly , room was big, clean, comfortable, king size bed, fridge and micrwave, decent shower, breakfast was good and had several options, I even stayed there again after first time

Review 71:It was a little further in town then I expected but still easily accessible. Staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. It was the same quality as four star hotels I've stayed at except cleaner, the staff was more personable, and the price was a lot cheaper! Win, win overall.

Review 72:Our air conditioner wasn't working. They nicely and very quickly moved our rooms. Everything was good. Older hotel that has recently had a face lift. Cost was wonderful.

Review 73:It was a bit hot in the room, but got cooler overnight so it was fine.

Review 74:It was a beautiful room, great accommodations, great staff, just wonderful service.

Review 75:It was so easy to find. The office people were so friendly and welcoming. The building itself it beautiful during the day but at night with all the lights, outstanding. It had everything you would need, comfort, breakfast, and pool. This is a place that anyone traveling through Albuquerque should stay.

Review 76:We were passing through Albuquerque on Memorial Day weekend. Nice clean room and a very reasonable price. The breakfast bar included good variety and fresh fruit.

Review 77:Very little by way of a Business Center. Limited copying at high price.

Review 78:Very helpful staff, immaculate room, excellent value. A comfortable stay, especially for those traveling through.

Review 79:Location a bit sketchy and lots of road noise. Could hear room next door too but just turned up fan and that took care of it. Breakfast room is a bit small. Wifi was free but very slow.

Review 80:Room was very clean. Bed was comfy. Staff was friendly. Nothing fancy but very nice. Great price.

Review 81:There was nothing I did not like. Again, I was suprised and impressed.

Review 82:The Inn was a nice surprise...I felt I got more then I paid for. Very nice and clean and good location for me to work from. Good restauranats all aroound, plus the aquarium and zoo and the Rio Grande are close by, so I took adavantage. Old town is also close by, but did I had been there before.

Review 83:Clear the staff and owners take pride on their facility. From the land scapeing to the rooms the attention to detail was evident. Will be staying again.

Review 84:We had a room that had a door connecting to the room next door. It was noisy especially with the traffic noise. The breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 -- not good for those who have to leave earlier like us.

Review 85:The beds were comfortable. staff gave good recommendations for dinner.

Review 86:There is a fair amount of traffic noise, and outside each room is a bright light which came into my room. I had to get up in the middle of the night and hang clothes and bedding around the drape, trying to get the room dark enough to sleep.

Review 87:It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was nice.

Review 88:breakfast was clean, hot, edible but boring.

Review 89:Like being at your aunt's house for the night. Rooms were clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable which is a must on vacation!

Review 90:These rooms are very run down and my feet got dirty walking around the room. We had some young guys in the room next to us that kept coming in and out and stood outside our room talking which made me uncomfortable. The road across is like a race track. My biggest thing is the lady at the front desk (who may be the owner) looks like she hates being there and makes you feel like you hate it also. She wasn't rude but didn't smile at anytime I saw her walking around, and I even smiled at her and she still looked soon face and grumpy.

Review 91:The breakfast and the size of the room are good

Review 92:Kay is a treasure. She seems to love her work and goes out of her way to accommodate guests. We were given an upgrade which was really special at the end of a long trip. A great night's sleep and all the necessities for a small price. A great deal. Wonderful service. Thanks, Kay. (Hope all is well with your family.)

Review 93:Thin walls - had some very chatty neighbors who I could hear clearly through the walls. Road out front very busy and noisy. Didn't realize that so many people in Albuquerque don't own mufflers. Lighting in main room was dim; could use better fixtures near bed.

Review 94:Comfortable and clean, close to Old Town and a lot of other entertainment/eating venues.

Review 95:Manager complained about our incorrect rate from bookings.com. Room strongly smelled of bleach. Worn out motel. Would never stay there again - even if booking.com offers a lower rate!

Review 96:Not much.

Review 97:Bed seemed to have a protector which wasn't that comfortable

Review 98:Check in was timely. Everything was as expected. Was a little noise from the road but we knew this when we booked..

Review 99:We found the motel easily and the staff was so very pleasant -- VERY pleasant. Everything was spotless. The breakfast was fine. The only problem is one they can't fix -- and that was the noise of traffic on Central. It did quiet down later, for the most part.

Review 100:Breakfast was just ok. Small and crowded breakfast room. Good was cold cereal, toast, Waffle, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, and coffee

Review 101:Friendly staff and comfortable accommodations

Review 102:Very friendly staff, we were upgraded to a room with a whirlpool tub. We loved using the whirlpool since we had driven many miles and it was so relaxing...... Very close to Old Town.

Review 103:Right before checking in, motel calls me to say that the booking.com confirmed rate doesn't stand and I have to pay 16 more at 12 o clock in the night. Breach of agreement and I told the staff upfront- made me call booking.com and confirm the same and afterwards the staff told me that there is no more room ( I do feel the staff sold the room at a higher rate while I was chatting with booking.com). So, after i was denied a room (even after booking confirmation) , I had to drive to next town Santa Rosa to get a room and my check in time was close to 3 am. 7 days on the road before and no problems on check in and this was the worst time to happen as I was quite late to book and check in and tired to say the least. To conclude, I will never take another chance here - even if this is the only place available in Albuquerque in my future visits to town

Review 104:none

Review 105:owner/manager is sneaky. We made changes (2nights to 1night). She claims they were never notified & charged us for 2 nights. Abq had their annual Gathering of Nations.

Review 106:Clean gated place.

Review 107:Nothing! All was great.

Review 108:Kay truly takes pride in her property and treats guests wonderfully. She is very engaging and does everything to ensure guests are comfortable and their needs met. You will not find a better hotelier.

Review 109:We liked this motel so much when we came through Albuquerque that we decided to stay with them as we came back through about 2 weeks later. The cost, cleanliness, and comfort all receive high marks from us. We liked the fact that pets were not allowed, because we don't like thinking that we might be sleeping in a bed where someone's pooch may have slept the night before, or where a carpet might be contaminated by some pet's "accident." We found the staff most pleasant. We secured the room online as we were traveling down the highway, and when we arrived for the second stay, they did not have, as we requested, a room with a king-sized bed available, so they gave us a suite for the same price. While we only needed and used the one bed, it was neat that they so easily and happily honored the agreement. I also liked the fact that it was a non-smoking environment. I have stayed in rooms that were supposedly non-smoking that wreaked of stale tobacco; not so at this motel!

Review 110:No issues.

Review 111:We stayed twice on our way to and from Texas and California. Really good value for the money. The street outside is a little loud until about 10 pm, after that it is very quiet. We left before breakfast was out, so never had a chance to check it out.

Review 112:the water pressure and showers could have been better

Review 113:the staff was very friendly and helpful. They made you feel welcomed and answered any questions we had about the surroundings

Review 114:Located in the hood. People yelling on a Saturday night until 10pm. Illegal street racers out until 3am. Ghetto cruisers abound. Gas pump across the street not only asks for your zip when you swipe credit card, but it also asks for your street number. Seriously??

Review 115:Friendly proprietors, comfortable accommodation.

Review 116:Treated me as if I were a long lost family member. Breakfast fruits prepared fresh daily a few minutes before. Good selection of yogurt, juices, pastries. Took extra interest to ensure that I was comfortable and satisfied. These folks run their business in a way that will lead to great success.

Review 117:Nothing!

Review 118:The owner was pleasant and very accommodating! The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Each room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. Great value! I would definitely stay here again!

Review 119:We've had a couple of "so-so" nights on our travels so despite the reviews were a little apprehensive... then we opened the door to our room. Wow! Large screen TV, very comfortable bed, use of a pool if wanted, an awesome shower, very friendly staff, not one bit of dirt to be found. This place is the real deal! We wish we could take the hotel onto our next stop, it's that good!

Review 120:It is a little noisy being next to a main road. And the area looks a little rough at night. Neither would not be a deal breaker.

Review 121:The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and the price was great.

Review 122:Nothing they can do, it is on West Central which is a LOUD road - it is what it is. Bring some earplugs, I did and I slept just fine.

Review 123:Big and clean rooms with all the good stuff: coffee, fridge, microwave, etc. Comfy beds and a table to toss your stuff. Clean. The best water pressure with great hot showers. The indoor heated pool is small, but really just the right size for tire muscles to relax in.
