Reviews for Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort

Review 1:The only thing I would have changed was the bed to be a little more softer.. It was a little on the harder side. We still had a wonderful time.

Review 2:Everything was very nice... We will be back

Review 3:they were doing construction during the day - couldn't be helped tho!

Review 4:the staff was amazing! We had our rehearsal dinner there three years ago - they remembered and sent us a bottle of wine and care package when we arrived!

Review 5:Two bad experiences in the restaurant. Would not recommend it. First night of our stay, ordered fish and the accompanying veg eventually arrived after I had finished the fish, despite reminding the waiter twice.

Review 6:Location was perfect, all staff were friendly and accommodated our request to stay an extra night.

Review 7:We ate at your attached restaurant Generations. The food was very good, however the service was poor. Management should put on extra help.

Review 8:Very clean and we were very comfortable

Review 9:Everyone was helpful and kind cleaning staff was so helpful also did a great job in our room thank you to all we will see you next year also the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good

Review 10:In some of the halls, particulary on the side of the pool and Alpine Mall, there was a very strong and unpleasant musty odor.

Review 11:The view from the balcony of our room was fantastic. The location couldn't have been better.

Review 12:Room was not ready by 4 p.m. Room was quite small. Quality of food in restaurant was disappointing. Dry pasta with shrimp and overcooked, dry chicken.

Review 13:Great location and friendly staff.

Review 14:There were no porters or bellhops to help w/luggage at check in.

Review 15:Full service restaurant and convenient hours, fitness area, and most of all the lakefront view.

Review 16:The location was amazing...we were on the first floor at the shores of Mirror Lake. The views were stunning, and the private patio was just perfect. Room and amenities were superior...loved it!

Review 17:I disliked the shower. the curtain did not stay shut it also was way to long. and they should offer a package deal. with them being with Generations Rest. you would think prices would have been better.parking was terrible

Review 18:the staff were very friendly and willing to help you with anything you needed,I loved having the beach right out my room door .

Review 19:Would be nice to offer continental breakfast option.

Review 20:Had an amazing anniversary stay at the golden arrow! Great amenities and cute and cozy rooms! Highly recommended!

Review 21:Very nice staff and comfortable bed, my hubby even said we should get the same bedding at home. It is right at the center of Lake Placid, very close to the Olympic museum and easy access to mirror lake with private beach.

Review 22:First contact with front desk was kind of cold but the agent that was there upon departure was sweet. She made up for it.

Review 23:Loved the room, gorgeous balcony view of the lake, the shower was a hit, bed was super comfy, housekeeping was pleasant and friendly, pedal boat on the lake was excellent and the location and access to the town from the alpine mall was genius and very convenient. Loved it! I will be back.

Review 24:This wasn't a bad experience, but the morning we had breakfast next door, it took us a very on long time to receive our food. I know the girl was new, but service was very slow, and there was not a lot of people in the restaurant lom

Review 25:We loved everything about the hotel, location, cleanliness, associates, etc. The only thing I have to suggest to you, when someone asks for a room, please tell them that is the dog floor. Last year we stayed on 2nd floor, this year the 3rd, next year we will be on the 4th floor.

Review 26:Very bad. Hotel Programmed wake up call for pm not am,missed business conference call, as a result. Complained to manager . Hotel disabled my room key at 10 am, they said computers said I checked out. Air conditioner woke us up all night.

Review 27:Breakfast

Review 28:Not a think!

Review 29:Best location, beat value when you factor in location, free use of row boats, canoes, peddle boats, SUP boards and uninterrupted swimming. Beautiful beach and amazing staff!

Review 30:There was a constant noise in the wall that sounded like a motor trying to start up - very disconcerting - happened the 2nd night we were there. First night was fine. We didn't complain but probably should have.

Review 31:Beautiful place. Staff was wonderful. Nice view from the room. Easy to walk to town.

Review 32:Beach, lawn, and indoor pool gave us plenty of activity options for our young child. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Located right in town, it was convenient to walk to restaurants and shopping. Would most certainly stay again!

Review 33:The first night, we heard a jarring, loud mechanical-industrial noise, that occurred every 30 seconds for hours. It was loud enough to be invasive and annoyed us while in the room. I finally figured out it was the very bizarre-sounding (and LOUD!) elevator that our room was next to. Never in years of staying hotels has an elevator sounded like this, I never would mind being near one...anyway the noise started up again as early as 5 a.m. Next morning I asked us to be moved and we were lucky they had a different room and agreed to let us switch. It was quiet and lovely after that. Room 310 -- NO WAY!!

Review 34:The view was lovely and the location was great.

Review 35:the previous guest must have left a some type of food scrap behind and the maid missed it. It was sort of hidden under curtain but we found it with about a 1000 small ants crawling around it. We let the front desk know and when we came back from a walk it was gone along with any signs of ants. That was gross however we brushed it off as an anomalie as the rest of room seemed immaculate...

Review 36:Loved the location both In Town and on the lake. The place is gorgeous and unique. Beach on lake is very nice, feels like it could be a Caribbean resort. Access to some non motorized boats is a nice add on.

Review 37:Everything. Friendly staff, great views, comfort and cleanliness. We needed a taxi to the airport and the staff were very mindful of it throughout our trip. Very appreciative of that.

Review 38:I kept getting lost on the way to the gym.

Review 39:The hotel was very convenient with walking distance to almost everything of importance to us. Lots of interesting places to shop. And most importantly, we could dine in, have a drink at the bar or with a few short steps do likewise on the outside. In short, Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort has everything you need in a place to stay.

Review 40:The parking can be a little challenging.

Review 41:The location of the inn is great. You can walk downtown. We also enjoyed finding our way around the hotel. The layout is very interesting.

Review 42:Loved the view of the lake from our room! Loved the dog sleigh rides! Everyone from the people in the hotel to all the people in town we're so friendly! Have to come back in the summer and enjoy swimming in the lake and taking a boat ride!!!

Review 43:We specifically went for the pool and it was closed a full day while there I was not offered any compensation for the full days loss of the pool .

Review 44:With a full house parking is sometimes a challenge in the Winter.

Review 45:The lake view and distance to downtown are a great attraction for any first timer. Great places to eat. Recommend the Blueberry Bakery for breakfast&Lake Placid Brew Pub for lunch or dinner.

Review 46:1st floor rooms are a bit chilly. We could hear the footsteps of the guests in the room above us.

Review 47:Location right in the heart of the lake placid village.

Review 48:Great location! Easy access to cross country skiing, skating and snowshoeing!!! Great stores and restaurants in the area! Friendly locals! All at a good price!

Review 49:Didn't like having to pay extra $10.00 per night for kids over 12 and cost of a rollaway would have been an extra $20.00 per night. So not sure what $10.00 was for . Room was a little dark for reading.

Review 50:Loved the bed. Staff was so friendly, always saying good morning. Lobby area is beautiful with a great view of the snow covered lake.

Review 51:nothing!!

Review 52:We spent our anniversary here & when asked for an upgraded room, they were so accommodating !! The entire staff was so friendly & helpful at all times! Room was perfect with jacuzzi bath, fireplace & view of the lake! Location was also perfect with everything you needed &/or wanted! & then we met Copper...beautiful doggie..made us happy that the hotel was dog friendly, as we had to leave ours at home this time!! Cannot wait to come back :) Thank you

Review 53:The noise early In am, from a hockey school. We couldn't sleep in as we had planned. Very disappointed that we were put into an area where a bunch of young children would be booking in, Surely we could have been put on the bottom floor with garage access, no stairs , as requested.

Review 54:The restaurant. had good food, but slightly expensive.

Review 55:Noise in the hallway and banging of doors late at night. Not the fault of the Hotel but something to consider

Review 56:Location had a fantastic view of Mirror Lake. Room was spacious and the bed was the most comfortable of any hotel I've been to.

Review 57:The hotel was fantastic but the restaurant attached had the worst service I have ever experienced! I am VERY forgiving when it comes to that being that I was in the restaurant business for over 20 yrs. the manager should be replaced as she was oblivious as to the poor service the custumers were getting, or worse, she didn't care. Our nachos were delivered without plates and we didn't have napkins. We asked for plates and napkins and 20 min. I had to take napkins from a table behind us and we ate without plates and extra napkins. It took forever to get drinks at the bar and at dining tables. We ate at other restaurants while we were there after two days of evening dinners that service was worse than poor. As a side note, it wasn't busy I the place at the time.

Review 58:This resort is everything it claims to be online and more. The view is gorgeous if you have a lakeside room, the staff VERY friendly, clean, comfortable, pet friendly on one floor, and environmentally aware. There are paddle boats, kayaks, row boats and canoes for free guests use on the lake. We went for R and R and it was perfect!

Review 59:Parking a little tight at times, depending on time of day Only left 4 coffee/tea pods (no choice, only wanted decaf coffee) then had to buy extras at $1 each. No drinkijng fountain in pool area.

Review 60:Location - right on Mirror lake with its own small beach and fabulous views across the lake; quiet end of town (in mid-September) with plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars in easy walking distance; accessible, easy walk around the whole lake Resort- impressive entrance off main street; lots of delightful public seating areas both inside and out to admire the view Facilities- decent pool, jacuzzis, sauna and steam room free for guests. Free use of pedalos, canoes etc from beach Room - good size with modern clean bathroom. Upgraded to lake view and well worth the extra cost. Sheet and towels good quality, fresh and clean.

Review 61:We stayed in the deluxe room overlooking the lake. The room was very comfortable and the view was worth the extra cost. Parking on site was safe and easy. Within walking distance to everything. The restaurant was good.

Review 62:Nothing at all.

Review 63:Free parking in the garage. Our room on the ground floor was spacious enough and the step outside in the garden with lake side view was perfect!

Review 64:to many levels getting from our room to the restaurant - it seemed to be a bit confusing but maybe that was because we are older

Review 65:beds were very comfhy and beautiful lake view from our porch - staff was efficient and could answer any questions we had

Review 66:Location of pool, restaurant, mall not well marked. Took us a couple days to figure out the total layout. Restaurant & bar staff not very attentive. Food good but not good enough to charge the prices they do for it.

Review 67:Bed was very comfy! The room is laid out great and how do you describe the view from our balcony - BREATHTAKING!!!!! Housekeeping staff were very friendly and anxious to please us. Love that they strive to be a Green resort.

Review 68:Room only available for check-in around 6:00 PM upon arrival. Staff did not seem too apologetic about it while in fact it was a big annoyance traveling with a 1 year old. Cleaning staff looked overwhelmed or short-staffed during the whole stay.

Review 69:Location is great, the view is superb, the pool area is nice and clean and well equipped with sauna, jacuzzis and steam bath.

Review 70:The shower drain in the bathroom was very slow. As a result, had to take a shower in standing water.

Review 71:The location, the beautiful lobby, the spotless facilities, the comfortable clean room and bathroom. Also the staff was friendly to all. I liked the idea that the hotel was pet friendly as well.

Review 72:We love the mountain views, canoe ride, loon sighting, nice bath products, staff all on board with recycling and environment. This is not our first stay, and when in Lake Placid, this is the lodging of choice.

Review 73:Everything was wonderful. Loved the lake view and access to all the available kyacks and such. Loved the Alpine Mall and coffee shop as well. All the comforts you could want right there for you. Will definately reccomend to anyone.

Review 74:Staff at reception could be more knowledgeable on the area

Review 75:Very spacious and perfect location for exploring th area Swimming pool great but hard to find D and long wa look k from one end of hotel to the other. Loads of food opportunities in town so avoid their own restaurant

Review 76:"Worn" /outdated room decor. There was a strange noise and vibration in our room that kept me up all night. Some staff were great and others were not friendly. Needs a facelift.

Review 77:The location was wonderful and the room view was great.

Review 78:Restaurant was so-so with horrible service Not enough paddles for the SUP

Review 79:Location Right on the lake to walk out our room to use the SUP and swim Quality and decor of the resort

Review 80:Can't think of anything we didn't like.

Review 81:The location on the lake is perfect. We were able to kayak and paddle board at no extra charge and there were plenty of boats and boards available.

Review 82:No dresser in our room.

Review 83:We loved the resort, the beach and the complimentary kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boats. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly!

Review 84:Common hall rugs a bit worn. Update bathroom commodes for greater efficiency and contemporary look. Change out round with elongated design. Kohler,Toto, or American Standard. Add three small Sumfish sailboats to the water toy fleet

Review 85:Convenient location on Main Street just steps away from the commercial activity in Lake Placid. Best beach on Mirroe Lake with beautiful scenery outside the back end of the Hotel. Premium location for kids during warm, summer days.

Review 86:Seems like a little thing but there was no kleenex provided in the room which was unusual and a little inconvenient.

Review 87:I love the central location and the private beach. All staff were friendly and welcoming. A great place to spend a relaxing few days either as a couple or a family.

Review 88:WE ARE AN OLDER COUPLE AND WE JUST LOVE SITTING ON THE BALCONY AND LOOKING AT THE BEAUTIFUL LAKE AND BREATHING IN THE FRESH AIR, AND THE PLACE IS SO NICE AND CLEAN, WE WILL BE BACK SOON.

Review 89:Requested a Lake view room with a balcony and we got a "tree view" room..... Was a maple tree right in front of balcony. Asked for a refund of price difference and was told they don't do that but would tell management. So don't stay in room 328 if you want a view of the lake.

Review 90:Centrally located - could walk most everywhere! Complimentary paddle boards, canoes etc. and have a private lovely white sandy beach. Staff was wonderful and was very clean!

Review 91:Having to leave.

Review 92:Great staff, lobby with a picturesque view of the Mirror Lake, modern furnishing's, clean comfortable bed's, plenty of activities on the lake and a central location for walking to restaurants and store's.

Review 93:Though we got a great parking spot this time, the parking situation can be really tricky.

Review 94:Have visited many times. Excellent location in town, on the lake. Clean, comfortable room. Enviro-conscious.

Review 95:The under curtains at the sliding doors were in desperate need of cleaning, as well as blankets provided... probably easy to overlook when cleaning so many rooms, but.....

Review 96:The location is absolutely breathtaking! A room with a balcony overlooking the beach, lake and mountains is the way to visit. Walking distance to town and some Olympic venues.

Review 97:Very nice location, right by the lake shore. Lodge-style hotel. Breakfast was not included but it was tasty and not expensive. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 98:Our room needed to be updated. The 2 chairs, in corner of room, needed a really good upholstery cleaning or new upholstery. I don't think the room had been remodeled in @least 30 years. It would have been nice if there was a breakfast buffet offered. We were not impressed w/the restaurant.

Review 99:Location

Review 100:We would like to have a laundry area within the hotel.

Review 101:Excellent location. The rooms were clean and the maid staff was very friendly.

Review 102:A new shower head would be great.

Review 103:The room was very quiet with a great view and right intown.

Review 104:Convenience of parking and access in and out of the building Nearby restaurant Mini fridge and microwave location on Main St. Comfort of the room

Review 105:Large rooms beautiful view from our room close to shops and restaurants

Review 106:good environmental ethic

Review 107:The walls were a little thin.

Review 108:The view from our food was beautiful with the mountains in the backround.

Review 109:We were in town for a hockey tournament, the location was perfect, a nice large room with a balcony for airing out smelly hockey gear and parking...

Review 110:Room had an excellant view of the lake. Pet friendly and it was very clean.

Review 111:room needs updating. location of room close to storage area. pool looked like it needed repair.

Review 112:the location on mirror lake

Review 113:Great location and accommodation

Review 114:Air conditioning unit noise and it did not regulate temp very well.

Review 115:Beautiful location, clean room, great view, great staff.

Review 116:+ awesome location + comfortable sitting area in lobby with spectacular view + comfortable room

Review 117:Great location

Review 118:a little confusing to get around

Review 119:very nice staff. Loved the make-up towel in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable.

Review 120:Nothing

Review 121:The location gives you great access to all lake Placid has to offer.

Review 122:Not really much.

Review 123:Location on the lake, indoor swimming pool, restaurant on premises. Well maintained. Sound proof.

Review 124:Restaurant- food was good but it felt and looked like a cafeteria.

Review 125:Could have gotten room cheaper directly through resort. Booking.com charges more.

Review 126:Friendly staff, great view

Review 127:The lake view, comfort rooms, friendly staff
