Reviews for Hotell Hjalmar

Review 1:A good breakfast but needed orange juice and some sauces, ie ketchup or brown sauce. Some care needed in the corridors

Review 2:Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very good value for money. Nice bedrooms. Normally stay in a larger chain hotel and this was just as good.

Review 3:tables in the dining room are old. Bad sheets are falling down from the mattresses due to low quality.

Review 4:Swedish style and heated floors in the bathroom.

Review 6:Nice and clean, at a central location, with comfortable beds and exceptional service. I have multiple severe food allergies and was initially sad that I wouldn't be able to have breakfast despite the large choice available, but the staff was very friendly, flexible and understanding and prepared a luxury selection especially for me, composed of items I am able to eat. For once, I was able to have a large breakfast that didn't make me sick AND that was tasty. I would strongly recommend this hotel!

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:Friendliness and helpfulness of staff, good breakfast, very comfortable beds, walking distance to castle and town centre. Tea, coffee, fruit and cakes available in lounge 24/7 but also facilities in the room.

Review 9:It was all very smooth and functional - as well as the offer of helpful support from staff. The fact that there is free parking in an otherwise expensive parking area is a plus I will use next time! I really liked the way that the desk staff were very supportive to an older couple who needed help.

Review 10:Very good location. Free parking. Very kind staff.Free tea, coffee, fruit and cake in the lobby around the clock. The room was partly renovated and lacked amnities that were described and promissed in "booking" while reservation. There is no aircondition at the hotel and in the room. No refrigerator or minibar in the room. No sitting area in the room. No stool to put the laggage on. No ironing aids. Electricity plugs behind the pillow on the back of the bed: not safety. No electricity device near the tea maker . Very disappointing.

Review 11:The room should've had a refrigerator and I would like to have the possibility to open a window.

Review 12:Very helpful and nice staff!!! The location is perfect in the middle of Örebro.

Review 13:We booked a month in advance according to the following room description (available among other items): Seating corner (Sitzecke), eating place (Essbereich), almenor (Schrank), view to town (Stadtblick), suitable for challenged persons (ist rollstuhlgerecht), French double bed (französische(s) Doppelbett(en)). We arrived at 20:00 h, and we received a room with a size such that two narrow beds just fit in with a space of 80cm in-between (about 3 x 2.60 sqm). A writing desk was screwed to the wall and mostly occupied by a TV set. There was one shaky chair, and nothing of the above listed items. The view was to the backyard. The room was so tiny that the beds could not be placed adjacent to each other, due to the writing desk in-between. The bathroom was ok (about 2 x 1.50 sqm), and adjacent to the bathroom there was a small corridor left (about 2 x 0.9 sqm), equipped with open provisions to hang some clothes. If the suitcase lay opened on the floor of the corridor, nobody could enter the room. If a person sat in front of the writing desk, the bed at the window side could not be accessed anymore, because the room between the beds was just enough for the chair. We complained with the manager and were told with a smile that we could gladly leave the hotel, get back the money (SEK 1,087.80, € 118), and find something else. However, we knew from other guests (who also mentioned the very small size of their room) that a sailing competition was going on, and all hotels were fully booked. What should we do? Sleep in the car? Call the police?

Review 14:Breakfast had the usual good Scandinavian quality.

Review 15:The man at the front desk was very helpful and super friendly. He adapted well to me speaking English. He seemed genuinely happy to be working there. It was an excellent hotel, close enough to walk from the train and also in walking distance of the castle. Great town with friendly people.

Review 16:The Airconditioning did not work at all, a noisy table-fan in the room could not compensate this. It is not OK to call this air-conditioned rooms when temperature in the room is above 25 deg C.

Review 17:Very friendly staff, very good breakfast.

Review 18:I was little bit worried because i arrived late on and reception was already close, but they explain what i have to do to come in in hotel. I paid for the room next day and my train was about 7 pm, i check out late without extra charges. I stay in the hotels hall, could take cafe, cake and fruits for free untill i go to my train. Personal is very nice and helpful.

Review 19:Eluttaget i badrummet under all kritik!!

Review 20:old building

Review 24:The room needs a renovation, it smells bad in the bathroom

Review 25:Bra lokation, tea och coffee, friendly staff

Review 27:Breakfast was ok but not super

Review 28:Excellent location and staff

Review 29:The staff was incredible and so helpful. I will be back in a month and wouldn't stay anywhere else...

Review 30:Poor lighting in the rooms, no hair dryers, no refrigerator, no toiletries (hair conditioner and lotion). This hotel is for the economy minded traveler and seems more targeted towards male travelers (lack if amenities and hair dryer and lighting & mirrors to apply cosmetics).

Review 31:The hotel us conveniently located near the train station and city center. The staff are efficient.

Review 32:Apart from one friendly staffer the rest seemed slightly annoyed atbeing bothered. The room was ok, but bathroom tile was not clean and thesink didn't drain properly. The tv was ancient and tiny and thefurniture, other than the beds that were ok, were equally ancient andvisibly worn. No telephone in the room. I wanted assistance and had towalk down to fetch help rather than riding in an elevator that smelledburnt. The breakfast left much to wish for. The fried eggs were cold andthe meatballs were of the precooked cheap kind. The fresh bread was dryand there were no staff to be seen anywhere. First and last stay atPlaza in örebro.

Review 33:No internet access in the hotel rooms hence facilities lower scoring, apart from that very good.

Review 34:My room was occupied when I opened it. In my second room there wasketchup on the floor and a strange smell.

Review 35:Only WiFi connection via a cable, no good for iPads.

Review 36:no wi-fi in the room, no place for hanging clothes, no dush courtain, no towel for second person, no free parking space, just 5 chanels on tv

Review 37:price

Review 38:The elevator had a smell of heavy oil

Review 39:Location, breakfast

Review 40:Spacious rooms, new luxurious bathrooms, breakfast was excellent. Effective and friendly staff.

Review 41:Crowded during breakfast period Internet cable in awkward location (but FREE!)

Review 42:Location

Review 44:Simple and honest hotel - clean and good value for the money.
