Reviews for Hotel Parq Central Albuquerque
Review 1:The breakfast could be fresher. Less programmed. Coffee awful. They used to have espresso and charged extra! Tacky for a high end boutique hotel. REALLY?! Skimping is passé
Review 2:Love the roof top bar! Great staff. Location great too. Decor innovative.
Review 3:Great location, near the freeway and right on old route 66. Nice rooftop bar. Staff super friendly, wrote down nice places to go for dinner in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Hotel offered free shuttle that dropped us off in town and picked us up again after we'd been out and brought us back to hotel. Fantastic.
Review 4:Modern, not too big and located at a very central location. Would not choose any other hotel in town. The rooms are cozy and quiet. Beds are comfortable.
Review 5:Fan in bathroom blows cold air when you are trying to take a shower and you can't turn it off cause then there is no light and the shade opens to the parking lot.
Review 6:An immaculate, stylish hotel with an interesting history to discover. The staff was attentive, the rooms spacious and absolutely beautiful. An incredible value for the money!
Review 7:Surrounding neighborhood a little sketchy, as in not conducive for an evening stroll, but hotel is quite secure, comfortable & commodious, there's no reason to leave grounds or room. You'll want to live there!
Review 8:Everything was stunningly perfect! A beautiful, innovative, & charming rennovation of a historic property. Much thought & care went into every design detail, inside & out.
Review 9:Awesome little gem. Staff friendly and accommodating. Quiet! Stunning furnishings. Lovely little common rooms and patios to relax. Fun to see a hot air balloon rise outside our window
Review 10:It is just beautifully done . This historic builduilg was renovated tastefully. The rooms are comfortable the common area original and on top of it a good breakfast with smiling staf
Review 11:The bed was NEVER made during our stay. Bathroom was cleaned but could not get them to make the bed even after complaining.
Review 12:Liked the retro hospital decor. Also liked location close to freeway, restaurants, breakfast.
Review 13:The staff were friendly but the service was a little uneven in the coffee service on the floor and at breakfast. Usually something was missing-either the coffee was out, the hot water was out, the tea bags hadn't been replenished, etc. But overall I had an excellent stay and the staff were great.
Review 14:Not really a criticism---we'd love more of a short written history of the site in the lounge/sitting area.
Review 15:Roof top bar and tapas menu was great, as was Albuquerque lit at night. The location suited us--just between the airport and the Amtrac station. The breakfast had real china, not plastic ware and paper plates!
Review 16:The breakfast is decent and runs until 10:30 am. Please be sure the free coffee (at a station on each floor) doesn't run out before the 10 am cut-off time.
Review 17:The hotel service is consistently terrific - from the comfort of the room, to the front desk personnel, to the free local shuttle. There are also some interesting neighborhood restaurants within a several-block radius.
Review 18:Great location, housed in beautiful historic building with all modern comforts, free breakfast (actually good food, like chocolate croissants). The rooftop bar is great!
Review 19:Location is not in the best part of the town, but we didn't care because we stayed for 1 night.
Review 20:Beautiful building and the rooftop bar was great, especially at sunset! Great room, comfortable bed and quality breakfast.
Review 21:Small room, looks bigger online. Not a great value for the money. What was included and what the grounds had to offer was never explained to me.
Review 22:Beautiful building at a great location. Friendly staff.
Review 23:Wish more food was served in bar area and breakfast was just continental and that wasn't even good. Also located in a bad part of town. But hotel was nice and there were security measures in place. Also the air conditioner did not work well in our room. We were glad we weren't there when it's to hot.
Review 24:Courtyard area and rooftop bar. Liked the park next door to walk our dog, but since in a bad part of town there were homeless people laying in the part and suspicious people and activities going on. Felt unsafe, except we had a big intimidating dog with us.
Review 25:Nothing was bad. If I had to ding anything, it is the location, because it not really close to either downtown or Old Town, but rather somewhere in the middle. The building itself is exceptional however, and the free shuttle quite convenient as well, so really this is only a quibble.
Review 26:Beautiful building, good soundproofing in the walls, quality breakfast included, and the rooftop bar was a very unexpected bonus. Great place to hang out and enjoy an Old Fashioned at the end of a hot day. Good value at a great price.
Review 27:Asked to move as room not quiet (always a risk with a converted building). Rooftop bar needs another person serving.
Review 28:Good design. Nice breakfast. Shuttle bus within 3 mile of hotel a big bonus (even offered to take us to the airport, which was further). As everyone says, great rooftop bar for sunset.
Review 29:Entering the hotel, it was lovely the very first second and continued that way. I loved the music playing...Frank Sinatra...it just makes your day and stay even better.
Review 30:The staff was very friendly and helpful to us .We loved that it was so clean and the grounds are beautiful and so inviting the ambiance up on the roof top was a joy,the staff was also so friendly, overall we want to come back on our 24th wedding anniversary.
Review 31:I wish the hotel would reconsider its choice of music it's constantly playing in the background. While the hotel itself is a calm and relaxing environment, the constant echoes of Frank Sinatra and the rat pack seem quite out of place .
Review 32:The hotel was more than a pleasant surprise. We had just driven 15 hours from California and arrived at this amazing oasis! It was above and beyond our expectations and consider this a true find!
Review 33:They could use an event board as I read in the paper about a great event the night before, wish I had known. Not the greatest of neighborhoods but easy drive to freeway and you don't need to go anywhere.
Review 34:After a three week road trip I was so happy I wanted to move in permanently. Artfully curated rooms, many places to lounge, garden, amazing buffet breakfast and friendly staff.
Review 35:Interesting history, impeccable attention to detail, friendly staff, convenient location to airport, Univ NM and downtown. Has a pleasant rooftop lounge with delicious drinks and appetizers as well as a great view.
Review 36:Our room overlooked Rt.66, and the traffic noise was very bothersome. The room was very small, even for 2 people. We couldn't control the temp in the room ourselves. We had to call the front desk to make it cooler or warmer. Very annoying.
Review 37:the facility is very pleasant. clean, modern. the breakfast was very nice. the staff were more than gracious.
Review 38:Nothing about the hotel but more so the location as we heard all the passing loud gear heads with their augmented mufflers
Review 39:The staff were very friendly, always smiling. Loved the whole clean charming style of the place and the seemingly newly-remodeled building. The complimentary breakfast was great.
Review 40:After a intercontinental flight from Europe I arrived at 9PM. At the bar, last floor, I kindly asked for a salad, sandwich, chips or nuts! ...but the kitchen were closed! Unfortunately the bartender didn't made any effort to get anything!
Review 41:Excluding the bar, at reception, in the breakfast room staff is exceptional.
Review 42:Convenient, clean and comfortable. Staff was great. We booked the hotel while we were in the car and just a few hours out. When we got there the hotel couldn't find our reservation because booking.com hadn't sent it over to them yet. Due to that problem, there was a little confusion with the bill but they took care of it and everything was just fine. Highly recommend!!!
Review 43:When we drove up to the hotel we thought...this place got 4 stars? Though, when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised how nicely decorated it was. We enjoyed our stay there & we would definitely stay there again. The staff was friendly and the hotel was modern and clean.
Review 44:It is not a bad experience, just a note. I am glucose and lactose intolerant and allergic to eggs sadly the breakfast provided had nothing except coffee, fruit or juice that I could eat. I brought some stuff with me and the staff did heat it up, but in cases as mine it would be nice if there was a way to have something possible.
Review 45:Apparently the room reserved for me was filled so they gave me an upgrade room. I was exhausted but the comfort of the room made my stay quite memorable.
Review 46:Liked everything about the hotel. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Review 47:Great location to downtown and old town Albuquerque. Loved the hotel decor and delicious breakfast.
Review 48:A great place to stay near central Albuquerque and the airport. Very convenient with beautiful, well maintained facilities. The included breakfast was wonderful and had ample variety. The restaurant on the fourth floor had a full bar and decent wine selection.
Review 49:No coffee in room. Not enough electrical outlets. Lacking the 'soft' amenities that will distinguish you from other boutique hotels. The breakfast (Excellent) would serve as a restaurant much better than the 4th story bar. Your music is excellent, the rest of the experience shoud match the music.
Review 50:Location, Staff, Intimacy. Music. Basic concept. All are good, but the concept is not fully developed and carried out. Soooo much potential, but only 85% done.
Review 51:Hotel sits right by highway. We could hear traffic most of the time.
Review 52:We loved our room and the staff was excellent. Free breakfast was a nice surprise:)
Review 53:TV was average. Staff was courteous but not necessarily helpful. Our room was the coldest spot in the hotel. I complained once and it seemed to get better, but by the time we left it was cold again. The outside temperature was in the 20s.
Review 54:The facilities were gorgeous. It was like staying in an extremely well kept museum.
Review 55:Nothing to mention
Review 56:Its a very decent place comparing to the other hotels around the area. Even though the facility is smaller than I expected, they offer all what a traveler needs. It worth the money
Review 57:tapas over rated. cold tuna no flavor.would not go here for tapas. gruet champagne although local was flat no bubbles.
Review 58:location on way to sandia peak and santa fe from tucson
Review 59:If you have a dog with you, this place is AWESOME! There is a great place to walk them that is secure and easy to get to. The rooms are very clean and spacious.
Review 60:The only thing that I would say could be a bit better was breakfast in the morning. Maybe just a few more options :)
Review 61:The vibe of the hotel was so cool. Beautiful rooms, great food in the lounge, & the staff was great!!!!
Review 62:I would like more diversity in the breakfast offerings, perhaps more local flavors.
Review 63:I love this place. I have family in ABQ and visit a couple times a year. HPC is where I stay. It is small enough to be personal and large enough to offer the amenities I enjoy. Location is perfect for a variety of outings and restaurants.
Review 64:Room faces the sun, which was fine but attempts to lower the room tempurature from about 80 degrees when we arrived failed. The thermostat is controlled by hotel staff and we had to call to get them to turn it on. Room never got cool so had to open window at night. Noises from airplanes and nearby freeway woke us up as well as guest on the patio having coffee at 6:00 am. When we returned in the afternoon, the thermostat was turned up to 70 when we had it at 65. If you want a good night's sleep and not be in a warm room during the summer, this is NOT the hotel for you. Otherwise, everything else was fine.
Review 65:Upon our arrival the receptionist did not give us any info about anything (breakfast, facilities - not even that we had to use our room key in the lift or that there is a bar on the roof). Quiche for breakfast ? Come on please!!! You have a fully fitted kitchen attached to the dining room - surely bacon and eggs would not be too much to ask.
Review 66:The location is fairly central for all attractions. It is a comfortable, clean hotel but the room was a little small.
Review 67:Wait staff was very apologetic and working harder than necessary for the number of guests in the lounge. Waited a long time for service and then the bottle of wine we ordered was not onsite in the bar. Took way to long to ever get served drinks at all. Several guests left very unhappy due to poor service. Improving bar management would save the lounge and turn it in to a big moneymaker for the hotel.
Review 68:View from the Apothecary Lounge was beautiful. The atmosphere of the lounge was wonderful.
Review 69:Traffic noise! If there's a function going on in the hotel the restaurant/bar is closed to other residents - no prior warning given. Breakfast staff need to be trained in food hygiene!
Review 70:Clean rooms, comfortable beds.
Review 71:I liked everything....loved the way coffee was available on your floor, the small ice bags were clean and convenient. Beautiful rooms, robes and professional young staff.
Review 72:HPC is a gem of a hotel with value of a 5Star for the price of a 3Star Hotel. Nothing was scrimped on during the remodel, beautifully appointed, soothing color palate and upscale amenities. Breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. Will return again and recommend.
Review 73:This hotel is lovely, very well designed, within 3 miles of the airport and has a wonderful roof top bar with great food and margaritas! The staff is very friendly and there are great restaurants within a mile or two.
Review 74:The rooms are small.....but the quality of their appointments made up for ghe size.
Review 75:The appointments and to be honest, everything about this hotel is such a high level of design, I found it inspiring decoratively. The staff were so pleasent and helpful I would not think twice about another visit.
Review 76:The breakfast was okay
Review 77:Lovely quite room on the third floor - the shower was great and very comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful. Good location near some nice restaurants.
Review 78:The hotel location is very so so. It's kind of a hike to downtown, although there did not seem to be much going on there anyway.
Review 79:The hotel is very clean and modern. The rooftop bar seems to be "THE" place in town at sunset. Good "bar food" there also. Staff was friendly. Our room was large and very comfortable.
Review 80:When traveling cleanliness is my number one concern with any hotel I'm staying at. Thankfully the Parq was exceptionally clean and the location was perfect for checking out downtown venues.
Review 81:The mattress was extremely hard for me! I had a tough time sleeping as I could not get comfortable but it was not due to noise or anything other than firmness of the mattress. If I stayed again I would ask about possible softer options.
Review 82:Loved the fact that once I told them I was planning something special for the evening for my husband that went above and beyond to help. I was upgraded to a suite and the setting was enhanced by the staff to make it very special.
Review 83:The airport shuttle service ends at 10:30 pm, which was a problem for those arriving on a late flight.
Review 84:Very comfortable and clean hotel, centrally located, delicious breakfast.
Review 85:The breakfast staff were slightly off the pace compared to the rest of the lovely experience.
Review 86:The front office staff and the quality of the building and decor.
Review 87:That I had to pay for my breakfast latte at the buffet. Tacky. Also that I had to leave :-) Fab hotel!
Review 88:The mixture of style and comfort. Attention to detail.
Review 89:Food was overpriced. Drinks were overpriced. Room was overpriced. Paid for romance package: strawberries/champagne delivered late and were not good. Could not enjoy the sunset up on the fourth floor due to overcrowding and rowdiness. Was told we were upgraded to a "deluxe" room but if that was a deluxe room, I'd hate to see what a standard room is. Overall experience for what we paid was poor but I gave a fair rating to be nice. Will not be going back or recommending to anyone.
Review 90:The ambiance was nice and the room was clean
Review 91:Our room was under the bar and there was much noise from the roof, but it ended by 0100, or so.
Review 92:The modern interior was a nice play against the storied history of the building. I loved the niches throughout with mementos of the old hospital. Had an amazing drink at the Apothecary Lounge as the sun set. Beautiful grounds and even a delicious breakfast! We'll be returning soon!
Review 93:Loved the decorum and friendly staff. Great breakfast too!
Review 94:Lovely hotel with a lovely staff!
Review 95:Loved the personal attention by the staff!
Review 96:Great service with shuttle to airport/car rental
Review 97:Bed was short and uncomfortable, noisy location off busy street.
Review 98:Hotel is clean, shower modern.
Review 99:Eating area not well managed.staff was very nice but very young, no maturity to the site. A Little over priced for small room
Review 100:Close to hospital, clean
Review 101:Hotel is well kept up. Nice friendly staff.
Review 102:Great location and clean room just a bit small traveling with dogs.
Review 103:It was all great.
Review 104:Beautiful remodeling work! It reminds me of a small Chicago boutique hotel.
Review 105:I love the use of an old hospital and the lovely updates made. The bathroom was lovely and spacious.
Review 106:Gym
Review 107:Quiet atmosphere.
Review 108:Everything
Review 109:This hotel and rooms are designed so well and convenient. The staff is great.
Review 110:The only elevator was very slow.
Review 111:The staff was great.
Review 112:Hard to find room in dark. Bad or no signage and very few outside lights. Room extremely small
Review 113:The room was a little noisy.
Review 114:Great place, friendly staff
Review 115:Really nice hotel. Great location. Great staff. Loved the breakfast out on the beautiful patio. The rooftop lounge is great as well.
Review 116:Beautiful facility! Great staff!
Review 117:Size of the room was a bit cramped
Review 118:Roof top bar
