Reviews for MountainView Lodge and Suites

Review 1:Was a bit out of the way but easy on, easy off 19th.

Review 2:Price was quite reasonable. Quiet and secure. Friendly staff. Easy check and check out. Good experience.

Review 3:Swimming pool too chilly for a stretch or workout and no treadmill in workout room would have been my 1st choice. In room coffee was the worst I have ever had and even though I hate having to head out to lobby early in the a.m. for something so simple in room to enjoy but was worth the trip for far better coffee!!

Review 4:Nice room comfy pillows, bed and temperature of room was easy to maintain. Overall place was nice. Breakfast was very good with lots to choose from. Lobby coffee was very good.

Review 5:They were some downsides. The room wasn't in the best condition. The light in the bathroomorning flickered. The paint in the shower was peeling. But looked as though they were ding reno. So I think we may just have gotten a room that wasn't touched yet. Also the price we were quoted wasn't what we were paid. We were told the total was 87.55 but ended up paying almost 100. Since they charged us 90 just for the room.

Review 6:The staff was extremely friendly. Needed extra towels and pillows both were supplied. Nice surprise is the pool was up and working. When we had been informed it was down for work. Also the place was quiet. No loud neighbors or children screaming.

Review 7:The bed was not very comfortable. The covers were very poor. An old fleece blanket and a quilted bedspread. I really do not like having bedding that is not washed between guests. For this reason, I would not stay here again.

Review 8:I had a very nice room with a jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace. The room was very comfortable.

Review 9:More of a freeway view than mountain view but then it IS right off the freeway. Perhaps had other rooms with better views

Review 10:Easy access to I-90 - easy to find in the dark. Friendly staff - great price

Review 11:Breakfast food had odd taste - sausage tasted metallic and unnatural, fruit also tasted unnatural. Other guests at breakfast commented and confirmed this. Also, the silk polyester bedspreads were very out of date-- fat televisions, too. The place was clean, though.

Review 12:Staff was helpful, facilities were quiet, nice open entry/lodge look. Coffee cart available all day.

Review 13:The bed was too firm for me but my husband loved it! There were a few minor maintenance items that needed to be addressed, which I told desk clerk about. When we checked out several hotel staff were smoking right by the doors. Smoke drifted into the foyer and coated us, our clothes, and luggage with cigarette smell as we walked past.

Review 14:Great value! Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is included. Friendly and helpful desk clerks.

Review 15:Room was too close to highway ramp noise. But we did not ask for change since it was only for one night stay.

Review 16:Ease of booking and registration upon arrival. Friendly, welcoming staff. Price was excellent and included breakfast.

Review 17:Very disappointed to wake up every hour all through the night to a train in close proximity to the hotel. The bed was hard and not comfortable.

Review 18:Room was clean.

Review 19:The room was awful, right by the train track and we ask and they said oh a train hardly ever goes by, well one goes every hour just FYI ALL night long!! Just didn't feel the room was clean, wouldn't step on floor barefoot. The breakfast was AWFUL the biscuits were hard and cold maybe a day or two old and the gravy Im pretty sure made my husband and I both have the back door trots for a couple of days, and the person on duty at breakfast was sloppy, picked nose , in shorts and flip flops, just all around a very poor experience and we had such a good one the year before. I am pretty sure you have gotten our last dollars.

Review 20:Not near as nice as it was a year ago when we were there.

Review 21:That I was only staying one night .

Review 22:The moment you walk in you feel at home. The lobby is warm and inviting. The rooms large clean and comfortable. The breakfast was satisfying and well organized. The staff friendly and professional

Review 23:Schlepping our suitcases up the stairs because there's no elevator, (and we were on the 2nd floor), was disappointing. The room wasn't as well-appointed as I would have expected for the price, but demand drives that. We brought our own breakfasts, due to dietary preferences.

Review 24:This is a family-run, rustic-themed hotel, with good, basic accommodations.

Review 25:The beds need new mattresses. First thing I ALWAYS check for once entering a hotel room, is to check the bed(s) for any signs of bedbugs. The beds were clean, but they were old and cheap. The TV was rediculous. A big, clunky, old Zenith bolted to the dresser it sits on, with the worst picture quality you can imagine. The remote also didn't work properly. Had to get up to turn it on/off, as well as work the volume....the remote only worked to change the channel. In my opinion, this Hotel needs a huge update of beds/bedding/TVs, etc. to keep up with the surrounding Hotels at the same price.

Review 26:The staff was very helpful. I requested to be moved from the first floor to a second floor room. Breakfast was nothing special, but it did the job.

Review 27:Bed was terrible. No elevator. Only King beds on second floor. Ice only on first floor. Wife's back went out had to cut trip short and go home..

Review 28:Clean. Easy access from interstate.

Review 29:The room was not the one that I had arranged for. I paid for a King Room and got two queens. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I've ever been on. My husband and I hardly slept at all. It was pretty bad. There was a musty smell in our room that seemed to smell light wet rags.

Review 30:The location was great. Right off of I90. The staff was pretty friendly.

Review 31:My father really enjoyed the hot tub. And it was also nice that the adults could stay longer to enjoy and relax longer. The view was very nice. It was a little out of our way because we were moving our college student into dorms but it was convenient when we where heading back on the interstate.

Review 32:Clean, quiet, comfortable, nicely kept, convenient to airport, very pleasant décor, friendly and helpful staff. A+ on all counts. Will stay here again.

Review 33:The TV was from the 1970's as expensive as the room was, we were kept up all night by noise and at 4 am called the front desk and complained. At 5am the (I guess wake up alarm ) went off. We had not touched the phone so have no idea why it called.

Review 34:The room was clean and comfy. The jacuzzi was nice. The bed was comfy

Review 35:There wasn't anything really bad to say about this hotel.

Review 36:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and even had towels for the bikes to clean with after our long ride. Breakfast was excellent with the different healthy choices.

Review 37:Exhaust fan did not work in bathroom. Hot-tub was out of order. Room was right next to highway. Could not see the mountains.

Review 38:Room was close to exit; it was easy to bring luggage in and out. Breakfast & coffee was very good.

Review 39:The website said the hot tub was out of service until May 2015.....and so we assumed that it would be fixed by the time we arrived in July. Not and were told that it wouldn't be repaired "any time soon". In addition, "Mountain View" and the pictures on line were very deceiving. Our room looked directly into an off ramp with just a peek of mountain over that.

Review 40:The staff were friendly. The room was clean. The breakfast was adequate

Review 41:Mattress was very uncomfortable.

Review 42:Very large room and clean. Quiet motel. Breakfast was fair. Loved having a spa tub in room. I would probably stay again. It is right off the highway but not too far from downtown.

Review 43:An analog TV. Seriously? When we're in the car driving for 10 hours we'd like to relax. Warm sower water.

Review 44:It was nice to have a bar/grill on the premises.

Review 45:Bedding was worn, especially the sheets; mattress pad obviously didn't fit the beds. Room and bathroom needed paint. It seemed like there was a problem with the maids; saw them discussing their jobs and one was obviously hung over or sick

Review 46:Location, lobby was beautiful, breakfast area very nice, friendly staff.

Review 47:The bed was horrible! It was the worst nights sleep I ever got. It was so lumpy and the springs were stabbing me in the back. In addition, I thought the hotel could have been a little cleaner.

Review 48:The location of this hotel is convenient. They also have a decent free breakfast in the morning. In addition, the wifi speed is consistent and pretty fast.

Review 49:This was a pleasant stay on our way to Yellowstone. The property is near the freeway, but very quiet. The rooms were comfortable and the front desk staff very helpful.

Review 50:The breakfast was less than stellar and heavily carbs. The desk clerk ran the breakfast so was running back and forth. The desk clerk openly smoked which doesn't look professional. The rate was way too high for this stay.

Review 51:The location was close to the interstate and only a couple miles from the Bozeman main street. The desk clerk was very helpful with sight-seeing and dining information.

Review 52:There was dirty underwear in the ice bucket and the coffee pot was not clean. Also the bed was too hard.

Review 53:It is located just off the interstate. The breakfast corner was nice.

Review 54:The place is in great need of a face lift and the staff, or the one person running the whole place, seemed overwhelmed. I did not get the feeling anything was cleaned to any standards or care.

Review 55:The location and the side we were on was quiet.

Review 56:Very accommodating and friendly staff. We were driving through and got in around 8pm. Ordered food from a local Italian restaurant that was excellent. We had our lab puppy with us, no issues.

Review 57:Not a thing!

Review 58:Although the location was off the main hustle of things, the surrounding amenities had everything we needed (gas station, pub etc.) to stay away from the crowds). Staff was always friendly and rooms were very clean & comfortable.

Review 59:The room was NOT clean. The bed was as hard as a rock. The breakfast was poor at best -- didn't even keep hot coffee available! The pool and hot tub were closed - couldn't get an answer as to why. The worst was the appearance of the young man working the desk on check-out. He was dressed in filthy sweats!

Review 60:This property was easy to get to, away from the hussle and bussle.

Review 61:The breakfast needs work. I think the bagels were last week's. One yogurt? No fresh fruit. Tne not tub and the pool were 'out of order'??

Review 62:The staff was helpful and friendly. It's quiet there and we were on the ground floor.

Review 63:The pool and hot tub were both closed for the three nights that we were there. We felt we should have maybe been offered a discount for this.

Review 64:Staff was friendly. Location was nice. View was great.

Review 65:Breakfast was very bad. Dinning area wasn't clean or maintained. Food was all old and hard. The building wasn't kept up on either, the door in our rm wouldn't close. And to top it off they overcharged me $30 for my room.

Review 66:The bar next door was great

Review 67:The pool was closed 3 of the 5 days we were there and I specifically booked this hotel for the indoor pool. Strangely, it opened for the weekend when there were more people there than just us. Tub gathered water when showering, gross. Advertised continental breakfast was only served on the weekend. No sausage and biscuits M-F apparently. We were the only people in the hotel from Tues.- Friday and frankly we felt that we were shorted on the "luxuries" that others were afforded come the weekend. We will not be returning nor recommending this property to friends and family.

Review 68:The staff was super great. Location was convenient for our needs.

Review 69:WiFi was pretty horrible. Need to boost that; however, the wired internet worked just fine. I was able to use the laptop as a portable router for the wireless, which worked fine.

Review 70:Staff was great, both morning and night. I also didn't have to go through the issues of pending money on my credit card for ridiculous incidentals.

Review 71:The bed was a little hard for my taste. I had a cold this time and probably should have asked for a softer bed.

Review 72:We have stayed here before (on our wedding night) and we had a great room for a great price. Always clean room and friendly staff.

Review 73:The bed comfort was so-so. I was better with it than my husband.

Review 74:The room was large enough to have people in for a visit. Both times we've stayed here we found it to be very quiet.

Review 75:Hot tub chlorine ruined one of our swimsuits and badly tarnished some silver jewelry. Not very appealing since one wonders hoew good that would be for our skin! Breakfast fair but coffee poor. Location a bit noisy with train and traffic.

Review 76:Clean hotel with an inviting lobby. Pleasant staff.

Review 77:Rooms near the train tracks will notice the train pass by several times in the night if you aren't used to external noise (I'm not). Lumpy pillows, but that's pretty common nowadays.

Review 78:Facilities are much nicer than most hotels in this budget category. Friendly staff with extended pool hours (up until midnight). Fairly standard breakfast, but it's included in the price. A nice surprise to find.

Review 79:A little hard to find in the dark. Bed too hard for me. An employee talking loud enough for guests to hear about her personalrrelationship drama. Very unprofessional

Review 80:View. Breakfast

Review 81:On clicking the initial $83.00 room rate is very misleading. Also the "only 2 rooms left" is not accurate, but only serves to make you think your running out of options, so you rush to book only to discover the $83.00 becomes 129.00 before taxes and other hidden extra charges. When all was said and done it turned into being 83.00 per person, and this room was no where near worth $166.00 per night! There are much more modern, cleaner and guest friendly hotels across the highway. The Mountain View Lodge may be family run, but the family values are very, very lacking. Which also doesn't include the un- vacuumed carpet and moldy shower curtain that greeted us. We moved across the highway and are now completely happy with quality, cleanliness and service!

Review 82:Nothing at all!

Review 83:Great and helpfull staff that tried to make our stay as conventient as possible. The location was so great, we even stayed longer than planned. It felt like "coming home". We enjoyed the breakfast a lot, everything was served fresh! We liked the waffles, too. Very friendly owner (thanks loads for helping us to make horseback riding possible during our stay). :-)

Review 84:We did not make hotel plans in advance, and found Mountain View Lodge just what we needed for the night! It was late and we were welcomed. We found this hotel quiet and a good nights rest.

Review 85:We were traveling to Yellowstone and it was a two hour travel so it was a good location to spend the night we arrived and the night prior to departing but too far to stay and visit Yellowstone.

Review 86:It is close to the airport and interstate. You have shopping and food a short distance away.

Review 87:No TV in breakfast area Difficult to find, out of the way and train noise kept some in our group up. Tracks are right next to hotel.

Review 88:Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast selection was average...like so many other mid price hotels, emphasis is on lots of carbohydrates which is hard for those watching blood sugars. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Review 89:They have no kitchen facilities which does not really make much difference to me but might to some. No lotion

Review 90:Clean, quiet and easy access to the interstate.

Review 91:This is a friendly little place, which seems to be family-run. It's clean, comfortable, with a slightly rustic atmosphere, making it more appealing than the standard chain hotel. If you want to swim, the pool is cool, clean, and not too small. The breakfast is OK, my only complaint being that the coffee is watery. You can maker a stronger cup in your room. A short drive will take you into Bozeman, so it's a good location.

Review 92:The location was not ideal. While we did have a view of the mountains, it was visible only after looking over a major road which was directly behind the hotel.

Review 93:The staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending a great local restaurant. The breakfast area was quite nice as was the breakfast food.

Review 94:The breakfast was ok. The coffee wasn't hot. Could've used a few more food choices but, hey its free.

Review 95:I like that the motel is clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. It is my "go to" motel when I stay in Bozeman. I check there 1st for availability. I also like it because it is not a chain motel.

Review 96:Wi-fi was VERY slow, kept dropping out, had to move rooms to get a signal that stuck. The TV was not HD - that's nitpicky but even places half the cost provide that perk. Not close to downtown but that could also be a plus.

Review 97:Clean, quiet and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 98:The breakfast food was cold as well as the coffee. We were not sure who the employees were as no one wore badges and they dressed very unprofessionally - like guests. The pool was very cold. The room had not been totally cleaned from the previous guest. On the last morning of our stay other guests had a can of bear repellent explode in their room which affected the entire first floor. We could not breathe! I was floored that no emergency personel showed up to ensure guests were evacuated properly.

Review 99:The staff was friendly and did make sure we had what we needed in our room.

Review 100:Sofa bed really uncomfortable bring foam topper! No elevator...if in need, request a ground floor room

Review 101:Pool enclosed and heated Good floor space in 1BR suite Microwave/small fridge handy Off the beaten path=quiet Handy interstate exit/entrance Near shopping and restaurants

Review 102:The motel is on the outskirts of Bozeman and although the 19th Hole pub next door is good, it is really the only dining option without taking the car.

Review 103:We stayed here two nights on our way from Glacier and to Yellowstone National Park. This was a very comfortable, clean and convenient place to stay and we would certainly stay here again.

Review 104:Bed covers are super generic and pillows too loose.

Review 105:Totally decent inn. Clean with all the amenities plus a good continental breakfast and a pool. Good value

Review 106:Noise in the room (fridge) Bad service at front desk (not accomodating) Waiting for breakfast (long queue since there is not enough room at their mini restaurant) Not worth the money

Review 107:Good beds.

Review 108:The railroad track is within 200 yards of the hotel and the trains blow their whistles as they go by. ...all through the night. Also my room was not cleaned until after 3:30 in the afternoon.

Review 109:Nice staff. Nice pool area

Review 110:Dirty room, uncomfortable bed, ice cold pool and gross breakfast! The shower didn't drain while in use so had to stand in an ankle deep pool of water. Yuck.

Review 111:The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, room fan kept cutting out during the night, loud when it finally restarted and barely lukewarm water at night. Water was hot for very early morning. Room noisy as it was above the kitchen. Very strong chlorine smell from pool area.

Review 112:location was good for getting to various places, not crowded area. Was clean and looked nice. Staff was friendly.

Review 113:Can't sleep with window open due to highway and train nearby. However not bothersome with double paned windows closed.

Review 114:Everything you need for a comfortable night.

Review 115:I do not know if there are maybe only a few rooms with an actual "mountain view," and those 2nd floor rooms would have to look over the road hill to perhaps see a glimpse of the Bridger Mountains. Our view was of the parking lot, on the first floor and beyond that, the interstate. It wasn't the most romantic anniversary stay I've ever had but it was OK. The cost was borderline expensive compared to other places closer to Yellowstone---but I didn't see any of those places/prices until later.

Review 116:The room we had was clean, relatively roomy"; nice, with a microwave & small fridge tucked behind the door to the bathroom. The "spa tub" was nice. The breakfast was not just waffles, sausage patties, and gravy--but hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, hot & cold cereal, muffins, rolls, English muffins, bread for toasting....quite the variety although the seating is a little cozy if you get there during the rush time.

Review 117:Loved location was just off the main part of town so you had mountain views and out of chain like feeling hotels. Very cozy! Clean and no smell like some hotels that allow pets.

Review 118:Didnt like the old pillows (sweat-stained and smelly) and worn linens, active train tracks and freeway a stones throw away.

Review 119:I liked the friendly staff, generous breakfast, spacious rooms and overall cleanliness.

Review 120:Scramble eggs were not included (only boiled). Coffee containers need to be kept full (breakfast time).

Review 121:Atmosphere Friendly Host Nicely Decorated Clean Nice lobby area open to a living room setting with a fireplace, comfortable couch, chair and coffee table for guest.

Review 122:Paint needed to be redone on the wall over the shower. Breakfast was just okay. Still using bedspreads.

Review 123:Room was big and clean. Staff was very accommodating. Beds were comfortable and hotel was quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 124:breakfast was not fresh, limited items, motorcycles shouldn't park next to the chairs outside -- made it difficult to sit in chairs.

Review 125:pillows, bed comfy, cleanliness of room and cleaning staff, front desk staff

Review 126:the breakfast was terrible, almost everything was out already at 09:00

Review 127:if you come from the NW as we did (Seattle), this is a good stop before Yellowstone where everything is either sold out or expensive nice great pool and hot tub open until midnight

Review 128:The beds are the hardest, most uncomfortable beds I have ever experienced. I could not get any sleep in them. One room I was in the tv didn't work. Another room I was in the wifi internet was too weak to be of use. I asked the lady at the front desk if she could move me and my family to another room, and she told me that she would call me when there was another one ready. We waited several hours and she never called. I went to the front desk to inquire about it, and she was just cleaning windows. I asked her about the room change and she immediately gave me keys to another room. So I GUESS she had no intention of ever calling us. We lost our afternoon waiting on her to call. The pool was freezing. The sauna was out of order. The second room we were in, the air conditioner only worked sometimes.

Review 129:The location is nice. Bar and grill right next door, plus convenient/gas station. Nice grounds. Nice indoor pool and hot tub, although pool was freezing temperature. Land line internet service. The lobby is very nice.

Review 130:Sleeping on the floor would have offered more padding than this bed. Wifi was too weak to function in the room (1st level). Couldn't wait to leave, and will sleep in my car before I stay here again.

Review 131:Staff was pleasant. Lobby was clean.

Review 132:The staff is friendly, the rooms are large and well kept, great continental breakfast. Quiet rooms set at the base of scenic mountains a surprise vacation stop on our cross country trip. Best hotel we stayed in. Must stay!

Review 133:The hotel was very clean and the rooms very large and modern. We reserved a queen standard but upon arrival we were upgraded to a King Jacuzzi which was vey nice. Owners are very pleasant and helpful. Staff was accomadating.

Review 134:Every where else in town wanted $149.00 for a queen room, here we got a king Jacuzzi room for the same price and it was lovely, Even has a fireplace in it. We are attending a wedding in Bozeman next week. I am booked at a different hotel but will switch now.

Review 135:No complaints.

Review 136:When our booked room was found to be in disrepair from previous guest, staff upgraded us to a nicer room for 5 nights. Comfortable, affordable and great location.

Review 137:Although it really didn't matter because we didn't watch TV while we were there, I thought it was strange that there were two old-fashioned CRT-type television in the room. One above the fire place and one on a table right next to the fireplace, only three feet away.

Review 138:Clean, comfortable, relatively new hotel with nice amenities.
