Reviews for The Hotel Blue
Review 1:The shower head leaked behind the shower head. The water would pour onto the soap dispenser washing away the soap yup attempted to put into your hand. Because it leaked it also got water all over the shower area floor and flooded out to the sink area. It did rather flood. You also need more pillows for a king size bed that includes different levels of soft to hard.
Review 2:The staff was excellent.
Review 3:Beautiful building and decor. Met with freshly baked cookies and coffee available in the breakfast room. Unbelievably comfortable Tempur Memory Foam mattress and electric fire in the room. Spotlessly clean and WiFi that works 100% of the time. Toiletries supplied. Secure car park and the staff allowed us to leave our car there until mid-afternoon whist we walked to the Museum of Natural History and enjoyed the Holly Holm Homecoming Parade. The best range of hot and cold breakfast included
Review 4:Location was very central for old town. But as others have reviewed, there were vagrants sleeping in the park opposite and there was a bit of shouting in the streets outside at night. They weren't threatening. But this did break the calm of the place. Secure car park was full by late evening but there was parking on the street outside the hotel. The fixtures and fittings were outdated but everything was perfectly clean. An exterior makeover would work wonders - first impressions do count.
Review 5:Rooms were clean, beds comfy and staff perfectly friendly. Breakfast was good and the hotel was flexible enough to have provided an early service for those of us attending the Balloon Festival.
Review 6:Split room service, one person cleaned the room early in the day and then another person brought clean towels by later. However we returned during the in between time and had no towels.
Review 7:Secure parking. Within walking distance (1 mile) of Historic Old Town.
Review 8:Excellent value for money. Good buffet breakfast included in the room rate. The free shuttle service to and from the airport and rail station is a fantastic bonus!
Review 9:The bed was very high climbing in a bit difficult. Not a lot of info leaflets, one on buses would have been welcome.
Review 10:Large room. with fridge and microwave. Clean .pleasant staff. view out to green. Good relaxing breakfast ,drinks available. swimming pool. Reception very welcoming. All in all very good and good value.
Review 11:The coffee maker in my room was broken. When I went downstairs for morning coffee, there was no coffee left. When I spoke to the man at the front desk about it, he said that he was the front desk, not the kitchen staff.....!!!
Review 12:I found the room quiet.
Review 13:A little hesitant when we pulled up. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable, nice TV. Stay on the park side. Saturday morning woke up to a farmers market across the street.
Review 14:The breakfast was pretty basic and the staff were polite but did not go out of their way to help with bags or anything.
Review 15:The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was well equipped. Good value for money.
Review 16:Lots of homeless people in the park next door. My wife didn't feel safe after dark.
Review 17:Great hotel bed and pool were lovely. Best buffet breakfast I've had along route 66. Close to all the local amenities.
Review 18:Small bathroom area with one of those low toilets (same all over this part of US).
Review 19:Their bed really is fantastic! The Hotel is very smart for the cost with a hot breakfast. We used a trolley to bring our luggage into an elevator and transfer was easy. It was very quiet where we were on 3rd floor.
Review 20:The carpets in the room. It was absolutely a clean room, but why have these old carpets everywhere that never feel totally clean.
Review 21:Breakfast for the price. Great beds. Good pool. Good area to park car in. Close downtown, but it is in the area NodHill where the restaurants and boutiqueshops are. Pretty close to drive to old town. Good place to stay overall.
Review 22:I liked the safety of the car lot, especially considering the location downtown. I really enjoyed the facilities! It looks a little shabby from the exterior but the interior more than makes up for it!
Review 23:Since it is downtown, it was a little noisy so ask for a room facing the park.
Review 24:Although the hotel is old, it has been maintained and clean, the tempur-pedic bed was really comfy. The pool was also well maintained and a pleasure. Free secured parking was a plus. The location was convenient to downtown clubs and to getting back on the highway. Good breakfast.
Review 25:I did not have a bad experience, but we were not informed of certain services (shuttle, maps, etc) when we checked in. I happened to overhear one of the ladies at the desk telling another customer and then I asked about them. It would be helpful if there was a printout of the services provided and maps of the city and perhaps restaurant menus of the restaurants nearby.
Review 26:The hotel had a shuttle which would take you pretty much anywhere. The shuttle driver was very nice. Our room was very comfortable.
Review 27:Telephone in room did not work
Review 28:The mattresses were temperpedic giving us the best of sleeps!! The free van service to Old Town & Airport were money savers for us not to mention the bountiful hot free breakfast.....we did not have a pet but for those who there's a park directly across the street. Nice friendly informative staff & free secured parking if you have a car.
Review 29:Outside of building is run down. Exterior room doors need painting. Although parking area was secure, hotel lobby and outdoor hallways to rooms were not.
Review 30:Lobby was nicely decorated. Staff was helpful. Free, secure parking. Bed was comfortable and bath was nice. Nice outdoor pool
Review 31:My tv was a flat screen and I was only able to watch 7 channels which I really couldn't watch because they were always showing something I didn't like. Would be awesome if you guys had movie channels.
Review 32:I liked the fact that you have a gated parking lot, only thing is you just need more parking.
Review 33:Pool was freezing! Park had some low-life living in it - not a problem as we were secure but not too nice to see.
Review 34:Fantastically comfortable bed. Great staff service. Very good breakfast. Nicely decorated - very presentable. Secure parking. Decent sized pool. Brilliant Italian restaurant next door. Overlooked park.
Review 35:We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the convention center, and this was 7 blocks away, so that was great. The bonus was that it is next to a park that had a farmer's market on Saturday morning, which was very cool. The park also had street people gathering there, which may not be for everyone but was fun to watch from our balcony. Gates around the hotel & parking lot made it feel secure. We would go there again.
Review 36:Chatty smokers congregating on the outside walkways at all hours.
Review 37:Absolutely, hands down, the MOST COMFORTABLE bed I've ever slept in. And the simulated fireplace was great, even on a very warm night.
Review 38:The doors need to be painted on the outside, they are full of bizarre brown spots on the exterior. The dresser knobs were broken. The room was very cramped. The bathtub had a big dark stain in it. The pool is not heated and not available for us to use. The breakfast was just ok. The staff was very low key and not very helpful. This hotel feels like it is about to close down from lack of attention.
Review 39:The mattress was the only nice thing.
Review 40:the room was severely outdated. the hotel was cheap but overpriced for the market and location. there were other reliable chain hotel options near the airport at similar cost.
Review 41:Waffles and not sucky coffee at breakfast. Secured parking lot.
Review 42:Room a bit on the tired and shopworn side. Street noise (they don't use mufflers on their Harleys here).street people nearby make walking a bit of an anxious undertaking.
Review 43:Convenient downtown location. Better than average included breakfast. Free secure parking. Free airport shuttle. Very comfortable bed.
Review 44:The room is quite small. The door goes to the outside of the building and is thin. Every noise on the street was hearable.
Review 45:Good location in downtown. Unfortunately the restaurants nearby were not open as long as I would have liked it.
Review 46:Too many cigarette butts by entrance area. Parking lot is small - had to park on street.
Review 47:The bed was comfortable. Hot breakfast was tasty and area was clean.
Review 48:Rooms a little less so. Showed age, several patches on wall with mismatched paint. Cold- solution is to use space heaters in rooms. Furniture is cheap pressboard.
Review 49:Great location downtown, lobby cool looking, unique feel.
Review 50:Checking in was difficult. I was told over the phone that I needed a $30 dollar hold on a card ifni planned on paying with cash. Then when I arrived the guy at the front desk said it was a $200 hold. When I refused he then said he needed at least a $100 cash deposit. 5 star hotels in Las Vegas I've stayed at don't even do this. I was basically treated as if I was going to throw a party in my room. I felt a little disrespected.
Review 51:I like the location
Review 52:heater could not be set to auto so ran all night
Review 53:we have stayed here many times and like to be able to walk to dinner at Hana Sushi only 2 blocks away. Also love the views to the mountains.
Review 54:Room was ice cold and the foam bed was as hard as a rock. We got under the covers fully clothed while the heater which had not been on tried to warm the room.
Review 55:Amenity "kit" in the room had been used by someone else! Room was not clean...dust visible, wall trim dirty, rug unclean. Disconcerting to have window looking onto the hall. Would have liked a window looking outside.
Review 56:Ambience inviting, fireplace in the room nice touch, breakfast room delightful
Review 57:We were close to the Conference Ctr. without the higher cost of the stay. It was within our price range. We were a little upset seeing the homeless people outside in the park- maybe 4-5, but they were not a threat. We did not feel threatened as we realized that this was an area where they could also be safe and the weather enabled them to survive there. Accomodations were very pleasant. Loved the view from the 5th floor.
Review 58:That I had to go outside to get to my room, not good when it's raining ond or cold.
Review 59:Near the convention center, Perfect for what I needed, a safe, clean place to sleep, that was the only time I was at the hotel.
Review 60:Doors could do with a lick of paint.
Review 61:Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast was excellent. Close to downtown and old Albuquerque. Park across the road.
Review 62:The building is a little dilapidated and there aren't many restaurants in the area.
Review 63:The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room had a comfortable memory foam mattress and a cute electric fireplace. The free breakfast included hot food like scrambled eggs, sausages and fresh waffles.
Review 64:The Starbucks Coffee was horrible and too bitter. The sunlight was blinding and the blankets were scratchy.
Review 65:I took my future hubby there for his 41st Birthday. He was very pleased with the Hotel. We slept very good and had a nice breakfast.
Review 66:There seemed to be a large number of homeless people in the park across the street but they didn't bother us.
Review 67:The temperpedic bed was divine. The exterior looks a little run down but don't judge until you stay there. Wonderful value with great amenities, a fridge and microwave in every room along with the secured parking.
Review 68:The hotel is in a downtown area and if you look for a quiet place, that is not it. There was an incident where some teenagers tried to start a party in the hotel at 3 am (solved quickly by the hotel at the complaint, but I guess it was not a singular occurrence). As well, all the traffic and special events in the area (park nearby) may make the place noisy especially in the morning.
Review 69:Excellent WiFi. This is the only hotel I have been so far where actually I was able to do quality video streaming. The breakfast exceeded expectation, having a good value for the money paid for the room (full hot breakfast included)
Review 70:The room was smaller than pictured, and dark. The walkway outside the room was noisy and because of foot traffic you couldn't really open the windows and feel private. It was hot and I'd rather have had fresh air then air conditioning.
Review 71:The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We missed the breakfast. The pool was nice. The rate was okay.
Review 72:It was very hot when we arrived and the airconditioner was not on when we got to the room so it took forever for the room to become cool enough to be comfortable. After the first night it was much better.
Review 73:This hotel was very central and the staff were very helpful. We loved the secure safe parking. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was great too.
Review 74:Friendly welcome and staff generally. Excellent location. Nice outdoor pool. Excellent security. Free hot and cold drinks in the lobby. Brilliant breakfast. Clean and comfortable room with balcony access. Elevator to all floors. Nice relaxing atmosphere and great value for money. Highly recommended.
Review 75:The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was neat, clean and the bed very comfortable. Nice pool and walking distance to lots of great shops and restaurants.
Review 76:Seriously, nothing negative to say. Great location, helpful staff, has a pool, shuttle service to/from the airport and downtown, clean rooms. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Review 77:This last stay we never had enough towels, coffee cups (used) were not taken away and floors and elevators were dirty. Juice machine was overflowing onto the floor.
Review 78:We stay there quite often and it is always comfortable.
Review 79:We had to leave in a rush so I didn't get to tell the desk aboutthis...perhaps they'll read it here: the landscaper working aroundthe pool cut the electrical cord he was using in half with the hedgetrimmers, taped it back together, and then continued using it...next towater!!! Not being completely ignorant, I if course made my children getout of the pool when I saw what he was gonna do, and I thank God I did, because within seconds he had allowed the cord to fall in the pool theyhad vacated less than one minute earlier!!! I was shocked that this guycould be so reckless. The hotel should close the pool when maintenancelike this is occurring, or else hire competent landscapers who are lesslikely to electrocute people!
Review 80:Everything about Hotel Blue was great! We went on a three week road tripstaying in different hotels almost every night, and Hotel Blue was ourfavorite hotel of all :) Very clean; nice linens; great desk staff andgood breakfast. Pretty pool inside a little courtyard (see the onlynegative about this...)
Review 81:Ask for east facing room. West facing do tend to heat up during the day (esp if you are being environmentally-conscious and turning off air con while you are out).
Review 82:Location, staff and convenient shuttle service. Also, having a fridge and microwave is a bonus as is the coffee maker. If you like fresh milk, simply purchase some from the nearby 'convenience' store (but, be warned, it closes promptly at 7 pm).
Review 83:I especially liked the shuttle service from and back to Amtrak and Greyhound station. This was the most important reason why I chose Hotel Blue at Booking .com
Review 84:Beds were comfortable.
Review 85:A comfortable hotel within easy reach of downtown Albuquerque and very good value for money. The King Room was very comfortable with plenty of space.
Review 86:Just over all like my stay hopefully soon I can stay aging
Review 87:Beds were just a little too firm
Review 88:The location and value
Review 89:Hair dryer was broken and was not fixed during our four day say.
Review 90:Nice and clean hotel with daily breakfast included.
Review 91:A little run down.
Review 92:Price
Review 93:Very dated could do with a revamp more of a motel than a hotel
Review 94:Location, free secure parking
Review 95:Room had a folding table and no relaxing chair
Review 96:Love this place
Review 97:The breakfast menu is the same everyday.
Review 98:The free shuttle service and the location. staff were very helpful.
Review 99:We loved the "fireplace" in the room!!
Review 100:I choose to eat organic food without GMO ingredients, so breakfast was pretty limited for me.
Review 101:Old equipment and room
Review 102:service is good
Review 103:Noise at night was a little excessive.
Review 104:The location more than anything else.
Review 105:Breakfast area needed the carpet taken up and a better flooring put down in order to keep it clean
Review 106:Location
Review 107:Comfortable
Review 108:Very comfortable beds.
Review 109:soap dispensers, rather than small bar hand/body soap
Review 110:welcoming lobby, breakfast area and outdoor pool patio
Review 111:Located in downtown which has seen better days. Main street has a few attractions.
Review 112:Nice, large room and bath for a good price.
Review 113:Nice Location, totally safe, walked to local places. Beds Super Comfortable.
Review 114:Rooms need updating.

Review 117:Nothing
Review 118:The pool and view!
Review 119:Very comfortable bed, very friendly staff, we used the courtesy bus a couple of times
Review 120:Breakfast was limited.
Review 121:Clean and functional rooms
Review 122:Convenient, predictable place to stay
Review 123:It is dated and needs paint.
Review 124:It has character.
Review 125:Location, cleanness, breakfast, Wi-Fi
Review 126:Parking was interesting.
Review 127:Keep on doing right and people will not be happy
