Reviews for Lom' Lae Beach Resort
Review 1:I mostly didn't like that we only stayed one night, but that's our mistake. Also, hundreds of bees descended the restaurant at night. But they took care of them immediately, and really, it was more comical than distressing.
Review 2:Lovely bungalows on what most of the time feels like an entirely private island. Awesome food. Really nice staff. We were only there for a day, but were able to rent a kayak and explore the nearest islet. The view from the beach (and your bedroom if you snag a beachfront bungalow) is straight-up dreamy. At night, there are tons of little hermit crabs with the most hodgepodge variety of shells I've ever seen.
Review 3:The dinner was not matching our expectation fully after we had such a wonderful breakfast.
Review 4:The location was unmatched - we had a bungalow with a great view - some grass and trees in front of us - just followed by a practically private beach! Booking of trips was no problem and the village offered a number of restaurants to choose from. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was great!
Review 5:No self service facilities in bungalow (hot plate/stove) to prepare own food. Menu prices expensive, small portions and not of good quality (especially the pizza). Activity rentals also expensive (kayak, bicycle etc).
Review 6:Secluded accommodation on the beach. Breathtaking views on own private beach. Quiet and peaceful. Real island experience. Will definitely return and for a longer stay.
Review 7:Its part of the package but needing to go to the toilet but not knowing what has made its way into the bungalow made things a little uncomfortable
Review 8:Its set in a great location with beautiful views from the beach. Fantastic breakfast and the staff are warm and welcoming. A real experience
Review 9:Unswimmable with care other than at high tide (rocky underneath and quite shallow " beach"). Need taxi or to hire motor bike every day to get around...doen dirt rough track 500m from road
Review 10:Complete peace and quiet for relaxing
Review 11:No bad experiences.
Review 12:End of the season so there were very few guests/ tourists. The private boat tour to Phang-nGa is fantastic. Food is excellent.
Review 13:Nothing that would keep me from returning. Said massages were double the regular rate outside, but they do come to the resort by appointment. Excursions are quite pricy but then the islands are away from competitive Phuket and economies of scale are probably involved. The charters might be a better option. We thought the food was patchy. Some things were really good some quite poor. The beach is lovely but not the best for swimming, quite tidal and muddy and rocky in places. It was fine at high tide and we were there at the new moon when they are most extreme. Aim nearer the full moon, I guess. A pool might have been nice for when the tide was out, I guess.
Review 14:The bungalows are spaced out with their own 'yards' so very private and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. The setting is just glorious and the bungalows are well equipped. I don't think there was a TV, but then I didn't even think of watching one! Kayaks, snorkelling gear, bicycles (don't; it's too hot and hilly) and motorbikes are available for hire. We had fabulous Thai massages in the late afternoon. You can get decent coffee! A lot of families so a nice quiet ambience. Not for the party crowd.
Review 15:Although the location was beautiful (private beach, quite,...) The way to the resort ist only a small path. During raining nearly impossible by motorbike.
Review 16:Staff was helping with everything. The organized boat trips and massage at the beach.
Review 17:Due to the nature of the build of the bungalows, the are open to the elements (heat) and wild life but they pretend to be anything else so it is part of the charm so not really a negative. I personally did not enjoy the food (give it 4/10), there are lots of other great restaurants on the island to explore.
Review 18:Lom Lae is in stunning location on a beautiful island and its rustic charm makes it idyllic. If you are looking to stay somewhere with air-con & TV in the room with a lively night life, this is not the place/island for you. Dagmar, Don and the rest of the staff are fantastic, delivering exemplar service with genuine concern for the well-being and enjoyment of their guests - this was the first place in the land of smiles that everyone actually smiled! As a solo female traveller I not only felt welcome but safe, I left with a heavy heart but an enriched soul. Thank you so much.
Review 19:No WiFi in bungalow but it was fine to go to the public area to sit and use WiFi there.
Review 20:Charming rustic bungalows Private with lots of space between bungalows Beautiful location right next to beach Friendly and very helpful staff No music in the restaurant!! Reliable hot water
Review 21:Quiet and peaceful, lovely place. The staff very friendly and helpful!
Review 22:Tranquility
Review 23:The bungalow is nice but the price too expensive!
Review 24:Food, Spa, Private beach!
Review 25:HEAT AND LACK OF ANYWHERE TO SWIM WHEN TIDE IS OUT EXPOSED ROCKS PRICE DIFFICULT ACCESS
Review 26:15 minute walk to restaurants further North along beach
Review 27:We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at Lom' Lae and would highly recommend it. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. Our bungalow was very comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the resort. We did several of the activities offered by the resort and enjoyed them all. The food at the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced.
Review 28:Floor in bathroom very slippery when wet - shower goes onto the floor. I slipped and fell badly the first day bruising my ribs. No restaurants close by so ate all meals there. Meals could be spicier.
Review 29:Comfortable and clean cottage. Beautiful and private beach. Opportunity to participate in various activities Wonderful swimming.
Review 30:Great ambiance, great service, nice staff. The best moment to visit the resort is during full moon. The higher tide makes the beach even more beatifull!
Review 31:Nothing, I wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 32:Beautiful location, an unforgettable experience. Dagmar and Don were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. There are hornbills in the garden. There is a small tourist village within walking distance where there are some restaurants. In the other direction there is a small local village where there is a shop and a restaurant with fantastic views of the sunset.
Review 33:The beach was beautiful, but difficult to access the water because of all the sharp stones
Review 34:Location, nice bungalows, good food. Don was an excellent host.
Review 35:Would have liked a pool as it is so often extremely low tide...
Review 36:A quiet oasis; beautiful views, lovely unspoilt island. Bungalow was terrific'; loved the hammocks everywhere. The food was excellent - especially the squid fried rice. Yum!
Review 37:Um... Nothing comes to mind whatsoever.
Review 38:EVERYTHING. It was paradise on earth, truly.
Review 39:Perhaps a wider choice of food on the menu.
Review 40:Well located on the beach, the staff were wonderful. It was a lovely experience.
Review 41:Beautiful and tastefully built cottages. Privacy. Quiet peaceful atmosphere. Location. Helpful staff. Good food. Range of activities.
