Reviews for Chiang Dao Roundhouses
Review 1:It's simple so don't come if you are looking for a fancy resort. But it has everything you need and you'll quickly feel at home. It's bloody dark after 6.30pm so bring a torch to go for dinner.
Review 2:Perfect spot to just chill out for a bit! I loved the hammock, the comfy chair on the porch, relaxing in the breakfast pagoda. There's even a 'built in' day bed in the roundhouse No food on site except breakfast (and dinner if you book ahead) but there's places nearby. I highly recommend small restaurant run by a hill tribe family just opposite the little road to the cave (about 100m from Roundhouses - Maggi will point you in the right direction): yummy food including small soup and bottle of water for 40 baht!
Review 3:i have to be honest - the owner was very nice for the most part but was short with me at a couple of points, which was quite upsetting. i felt awkward for a lot of the stay - this is the risk you take with B&Bs. I don't think have being been rude to is something you should have to put up with you are on your holiday. in addition, the bathroom is very open - which i liked, except for when construction works are occuring on the property and i can wave to people when sitting on the toilet.
Review 4:amazing location, views and unique location
Review 5:-Nothing we didn't like, just be sure you're prepared to be in nature and have it come really close. You're in a less inhabited area so be prepared for critters and creatures. Not many shops (which for us was a good thing), and the places to eat work on their own schedules. Head out to eat early so you make sure you can find something that's open.
Review 6:-Fresh baked scones and a huge plate of fruit every morning -Incredibly comfortable room, a beautiful mountain view surrounded by sounds of the jungle -Maggie's hospitality and willingness to teach those interested in her amazing roundhouses We loved the area so much we stayed an extra night and wished we could stay longer.
Review 7:Early morning broadcast by the lunatic village headman! Nothing the owner could do....except put ground glass in his tea maybe....
Review 8:quirky, charming lovely owner, excellent brealkfast
Review 9:Such a fantastically unique place to stay. Very comfortable and cozy. Amazing view of the mountain and jungle. Maggie, our host, was very welcoming and helpful. She organized transport for a tour of the local market and a tribal village (both very interesting). We had a great time staying here. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
Review 10:You felt connected to life here - with the earth, with the animals, with other people, and with yourself. It might've been the energy from the mountain, or the depth of the jungle, or the friendliness of the locals, but it all came together to make you feel wholesome. I had a wonderful time here.
