Reviews for C'est La Vie Inn
Review 1:Extremely homey and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Great attention to detail. Beautiful home! Can't wait to come back in the spring or summer months to see the garden in full bloom.
Review 2:Location in neighborhood in west Eugene not ideal for UO and downtown since its not walking distance, but easy drive.
Review 3:Beautiful home, quirky and likeable host. Quiet area.
Review 4:Everything micro to macro -- we felt surrounded by quality, uniqueness and care at every turn. I luxuriated in the clawfoot bathtub with fragrant, no toxin body products, great towels, and a spa bathrobe -- even spa slippers which I took with me for use at each place I stayed on this trip. We will definitely return on our annual drive from Whidbey Island, WA to our winter home in Sedona, AZ.
Review 5:Jack is a most gracious host. I felt as though I was in my own home and was treated like family. Delicious breakfasts and fantastic luxury in our room. Jack even had the sports section of the local newspaper on the table at breakfast the day after the Ducks game, celebrating our win. What a treat and a weekend we'll never forget.
Review 6:The booking said fireplace was included which was a deciding factor for me- there wasn't any... The room was very small and couldn't stand up on one side of the bed.
Review 7:Nice amenities.
Review 8:What a wonderful Bed & Breakfast! The house and grounds are magnificent down to every detail due to the owner's rich artistic and cultural tastes. Jack, our host, was so helpful and gracious. The meals were perfect. If you're a B&B fan, you have to stay here!
Review 9:Sorry we couldn't stay longer!
Review 10:The innkeepers were very friendly and have thought of every detail to insure a comfortable stay in their lovely home.
Review 11:Mattress too soft. Smallish queen room ( we were frequently bumping into each other).
Review 12:Serendipitous property amidst modest homes location. Meticulously maintained inn. Amazing architecture from the Queen Anne period (like a fairy-tale house). Separate computer room. Every nuance creatively imagined and executed. Model train runs in the back yard, Koi ponds in the front. Host is welcoming and accommodating. Get his references for dinner!
Review 13:We both have on-going lower back issues and are accustomed to quite a firm bed. The bed in our room and the inn was softer than we are used to. We slept just fine but had we been staying a number of days we would have been struggling with our backs. Not the inn's fault, just the product of old-age!
Review 14:Loved the atmosphere and charm after many stays in sterile, boring hotel rooms. The gardens were beautiful, the host was friendly & helpful, the room was very comfortable & clean, and breakfast was delicious.
Review 15:I love the garden with the lovely fountain. I love also the room style abd the living room. The house is indeed has a French beauty. Thanks to the owner for his assistance.
Review 16:We were on a short time frame but the staff was happy to wake up early and prepare us an excellent breakfast for he road! Felt like I was staying at a close relatives.
Review 17:The manager did not talk to my wife, only to me.
Review 18:Beautiful setting and great attention to detail inside the B&B.Breakfast was very nice as well.b
Review 19:I hestitate to say this, but this is the second time this has happened at this place. I could not eat breakfast at the time he designated for work reasons and was offered cold cereal, but it was a difference of 15-20 min. For the price the breakfast time should be more accommodating to the guests.
Review 20:Lovely rooms.
Review 21:However, all of the wash clothes were black. Which meant that I could see all the pet and human hair covering them. The sign in the bathroom stated to use them to wash your face or clean your shoes -- this was a gross combination to me as the wash clothes were clearly not sanitized or washed for separate use. I really wish there has been clean white wash clothes. It ruined an overall great experience.
Review 22:The grounds are lovingly maintained and the fountain outside my window helped me relax.
Review 23:This is a very delightful B&B adjacent to U of O, with a very friendly staff and delicious breakfasts. We learned a lot of history about the house and area from the innkeeper, who was very interesting to all.
Review 24:Quiet rooms for an old home Claw foot tub in large bathroom Beautifully manicured landscape/garden Breakfasts Gracious host Close to town without the noise
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:Tremendous attention to detail in the restoration of the entire building, fit and finish was outstanding, wonderful fixtures, magnificent gardens. Nice chance to mingle at breakfast with some other guests.
Review 27:Unfortunately, the issues we had were the bed sank in the middle which resulted in a disturbed nights sleep, not what you want when travelling. Also, no breakfast choice and no ask as to whether the dish served was OK. The food was good, but my husband does not like cheese and he wasn't given the option to let the cook know that before the meal was served to him.
Review 28:The house and gardens were exquisite, decorated in a french chateau style lovingly cared for by the owners. Every detail had been catered for, even a cloth to clean dirty items such as shoes, etc. The Matisse room was well equipped beautifully decorated as was the bath/shower room. Dining room and music room furnished with french antique artifacts, gorgeous.
Review 29:There is nothing to complain about whatsoever.

Review 41:I'm a big fan of B&B's and C'est la Vie ranks in the top echelon of places I have stayed around the world. I only had a brief visit because of timing and business demands but enough to know that I'd like to stay there again.
Review 42:The view upon first driving up to the Inn is truly memorable, as the brightly colored and tasteful confection rises from the quiet modesty of the sleepy surrounding neighborhood. The grounds are expertly kept, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the facilities lovely and comforting.

The breakfast was delicious! Everything was perfect! We were on our honeymoon and we already have plans to go back on our anniversaries!
Review 87:The place was very clean, but I would have liked them to run the vacuum on the carpet daily.
Review 88:Very nice accommodations. Comfortable bed, individual climate control in every room, quiet residential neighborhood close to the University, restaurants a short distance away.
Review 89:The smell of the wood Un peu exigu pour trois personnes Avec des bagages I would meet Anne Marie the owner
Review 90:Originality of the place Excellent breakfast Very clean Very beautiful decoration Very magic and mysterious place
Review 91:What a beautiful home, out of a magical fairytale. Rooms are beautifully appointed and the claw foot bathtub was my personal favorite. The hosts are charming and full of great local recommendations. You can also never beat a B&B breakfast!
Review 92:There were the couple slight inconveniences I mentioned above: but not unexpected in a B&B.
Review 93:This house is amazing and truly unique. The hosts were helpful with suggestions and information. The room was very comfortable -- the only exception was the sloped ceilings. My husband hit his head several times. Also, pack light. The stairs are pretty steep. Everything was clean and a nice breakfast was provided. We were within walking distance to several nice restaurants and not very far from OSU.
Review 94:We loved everything about the house. A very quiet and cozy environment, warm and comfortable! And the breakfasts were delicious! The restoration of this Queen Ann is beautiful with amazing attention to detail. We will definitely have a return visit. It is necessary to plan ahead as this place is very busy.
Review 95:I thought the French artist theme could have been a bit more subtle. That's just my bias.
Review 96:It's a beautifully restored historic Victorian home, very well appointed, super comfortable, with a cordial host (when we were there), excellent lighting (important), beautiful bathroom, lovely antiques and a beautiful garden. The stairs were very easy (important). We loved all the clocks and the tasty cookies and the simple but elegant breakfast. All in all this was the very nicest bed and breakfast my husband and I have ever stayed in.
