Reviews for Baan Thanatchanok
Review 1:wound earful mother and daughter hosts. .Everything in Chiang Dao is spread out so its good to rent a moped if possible. Mom will make you dinner for a very reasonable price, acompidatedmy vegetarian preference nicely., even had a night of cooking class dinner!
Review 2:Super friendly, accommodating owners. Made us amazing pad Thai for dinner for 40 baht, and even made us breakfast on our last day (no charge!). Provided all the bottled water we could drink, as well as soap, towels and toilet paper. More than we were expecting at this price point. Bed was super firm, but surprisingly comfortable. Room was big, as was the attached bathroom. For a budget accommodation, this place is great.
Review 3:There are two rooms, and our neighbours spoke quite loud, unfortunatelly the rooms are not well isolated. Toilets didn't work in our last days.
Review 4:Faï has been a great host, very welcoming and we could exchange a bit about Thailand ! She and her mothet can also cook, it was good and cheap. The place is quiet. Faï drove us for free to the bus stop.
Review 5:We loved this place. We planned to stay only one night and in the end we stayed for three nights. Our host was amazingly nice and helped us everything. Moreover she cooked great Thai food! 100% recommended.
Review 6:I was surprised that the description did not include location details although this was ameliorated by the host.
Review 7:Polite and helpful hosts, clean and comfortable space, very quiet location in the country in the middle of an orchard, equidistant (about 5kms) from the caves and the town, host allowed use of her scooter at a reasonable price. Host also drove me to the bus station at no charge.
Review 8:No food service. 7 eleven - 2 km, but have some cafe nearby (500m)
Review 9:Friendly stuff, wifi, view on Doi Chiag Dao Silent place Mosque nets on windows
Review 10:The only thing I did not like was that in the morning all places that have filter coffee would open very late.
Review 11:Thanatchanok (Fai) and her mother are so lovely, they are doing everything to make your stay comfortable. And the location is in a most beautiful spot. Fabulous mountain view.
Review 12:Having to leave
Review 13:The hostess speaks great English and each meal was gourmet quality. There are only 2 rooms (rather new) and we were the only ones here at the time. Very relaxing. Lots to explore and a motor bike was made available for our use. I've never found better value for the money.
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:I felt like at home, spending time with Fai and Jim was fun. We enjoyed great home made dinner, and the kids were let to lit a fire in the yard. Finally, I forgot some stuff, and they sent it to me to Bangkok, which I appreciated a lot.
Review 16:Nothing.
Review 17:It's quiet, a few hundred metres down a dirt lane surrounded by nature. Chiang Dao is 30 mins walk but there was no problem borrowing a scooter from the owner. Two good restaurants are within 5 and ten mins walk. It might be too quiet for some but we liked the time chilling out for a week before more city stuff.
Review 18:I didn't mind it, but it is quite a distance from town and hard to get to on your own. If you want to get into a rural area, then fine, but if not, there isn't much around. Coffee shop down the road, but that's about it.
Review 19:Quiet, off the beaten path. Family was very helpful picking me up at the bus stop and providing simple Thai meals
Review 20:Very friendly staff, they went above and beyond to make our stay great. Didn't feel like it was just their job. They really care about your experience. This sets them apart from any other hotel/guesthouse out there. The food is terrific. The room is great, and the wifi is good everywhere. Nice quiet atmosphere that allows for relaxation.
Review 21:If with no transport, maybe not best locality.
Review 22:For price, very good overall. Included tea/coffee, owner very helpful and rented a motorbike cheaply. Also came to collect us when we couldn't find locality.
Review 23:The two women who run Baan Thanatchanok are both so lovely! We arrived in Chiang Dao town too late to get a taxi, so we run Baan Thanatchanok for help and they immediately came and picked us up. They also kindly gave us free breakfast each morning, and even made us a beautiful Thai packed lunch. The room is simple but clean and very comfortable. Also rented the owner's moped for 250 baht a day. Also got a lift back to the bus station at the end of our stay. Would definitely stay here again!
Review 24:some ants in the bathroom but not problematic
Review 25:nice host, quiet location, helpful signs from the road, nice breakfast in the garden, basic bungalow but clean, no aircon but not needed either (open windows provide enough coolness at night), english spoken
Review 26:This home stay wasn't install the air condition unit in the room,it only with the electric fan . On the day it too hot but on the night so cool ! This area the electricity are not constant ,it will be high and low level all night.
Review 27:Quiet home stay in fruit gardens at Chiang Dao and close to the hills ,nature stream, the national Chiang Dao Park.
Review 28:The owner, who was really nice, let us use her bike to go around the city and to the mountains and the food was delicious.
Review 29:Too far from anything
Review 30:Good homestyle cooking
Review 31:It's in a calm and peaceful neighbourhood, with a beautiful garden. The room was clean and confortable.
Review 32:No complaints
Review 33:Everything. The ladies who run this place are amazing. Our best place to stay in Thailand. Perfect
Review 34:Bathroom completely floods with every shower; but that's quite common in Thailand
Review 35:Friendly and helpful owner; nice and quiet; home cooked food
Review 36:They have nice dog, that barks, so if you are afraid of dogs take it in the account. I mean its nice dog and its fine, but my wife is afraid of dogs.
Review 37:Nice clean. Hot water. Welcoming.
Review 38:Very difficult to find but we eventually phoned and someone came to fetch us on the road.
Review 39:Very clan new guesthouse. Everything works. The staff is very friendly.
Review 40:Information center at bus Station doesn't know the location.
Review 41:Bungalows are rather new and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and provide yammy food, Motor bike and bike rental. On our trip of 4 weeks through Laos and thailand this was the most recommenable stay, as it was uncommplicated and a good place to draw a breath. The location stands ca. 300 meters of the 107 - the entry lane (sign) is at the Mokloung restaurant.
Review 42:The owners are very kind and helpful. The place is a great alternative to overpriced Mallees and Nest. I recommend this place to everyone who plan a visit to Doi Chiang Dao and cave and also for birdwatchers visiting Chiang Dao paddies or Den Ya Kat.
