Reviews for Saree Samui by The Unique Collection
Review 1:Everything about it is great. It's on the quiet side of the island so there aren't that many other tourists – ideal. Lily, the hotel manager was fantastic and gave us loads of advice about where to go and what to see etc. We'll definitely be back.
Review 2:some of the extras, e. g. laundry, are very expensive
Review 3:very comfortable room with a great private pool, very good location, very good restaurant - I really enjoyed my stay and absolutely recommend this hotel!
Review 4:Oh jeeze where to start... broken pool deck made of plastic(!), pool not being filled up all the way (supposed to be an infinity pool), grounds aren't maintained well enough - overall not an impressive hotel.
Review 5:large pool overlooking the beach - pretty sweet view. Large room with a nice lounge area inside.
Review 6:on our stay there was no public pool the outside rooms neads to have better mainteness , its make you feel like realy not clean area they want 200 bat more for ordering taxi to the airport,we ordered ours from the taxi statation acroos the streat
Review 7:very private room 's pool and bathtab very very helpfull and nice staff they gave us free late checkout when they saw there no gust who neads the room good breackfast
Review 8:Hotel is really nice but its in a really quite place and far away from the local city center. If you want to go around you better rent a motorbike. Breakfast is very good, staff is very helpful.
Review 9:Some of the extras were kind of expensive. (sunblock cost 1000 baht) mainly young families and I was traveling single so that is just a fair warning
Review 10:Great place you guys!
Review 11:Rooms are spacious, we even had a garden in our room, and a bathtub in the garden. Very nicely decorated, nice tropical style villas and hotel territory. Exellent view from the pool - a private beach. We really enjoyed the stay. Especially the room.
Review 12:The cocktails are to improve. A bit isolated.
Review 13:The hotel itself, it is on the beach and has a wonderful pool area. The staff is really nice, even though the English is not the best. The breakfast in the open space on the beach. The villas are great, especially with private pools. And the food at the restaurant is quite good, too.
Review 14:Maintenance needed on pool deck and other places.
Review 15:Very quite and speccial place, excellent beach and pool. Rooms very comfortable and very well decorated
Review 16:Our room was full of mosquitos even with the hotel set up some devices to support this issue. A net around the bed would help a lot to solve this problem, i had plenty of mosquitos bites. The deck around the pool was in a bad condition with some holes, can be dangerous but the boss of the hotel told us that this issue will be solved in october.
Review 17:The pool with a front sea view is wonderful ! The area is relaxing and the beach is really nice too and quiet.(Few people) The breackfast is perfect. The room and the beds are really nice and comfortable. All employees are really kind and always smiling! It was a great experience.
Review 18:Great Resort! All is well-finished and the staff is kind and always smiling. Right combination between Nature and Luxury. Deeply recommended! Enjoy :)
Review 19:We stayed for 5 nights, there's no welcoming fruit plate. The road to the entrance needs to be repaired, it's really bumpy. The light of the villa's pool never works.
Review 20:Staffs are friendly Nice beach view Breakfast variety
Review 21:A first class service from staff. We are offered a free up grade to the beach villas for easy access to the beach and restaurant for my mum and mother-in-law who are in their 80s. The staff helped them up the steps and even made a ramp for the pushchair. The staff walked them back to the villa after the massage. They deliver dinner to my mum on time. Staff are very polite and are friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much with the help of your wonderful staff. Thank you for looking after them so well. We will definitely come back again.
Review 22:the staff was a bit hit and miss - in my opinion under qualified for a 4 stars hotel but it's not their fault, rather the management Cleaning of the room was a bit approximative Check in was rather rough...
Review 23:Breakfast Pool and beach
Review 24:We really enjoyed the boutique hotel experience with the most attentive stuff. The hotel is a lovely quiet tropical paradise. The rooms are excellent and the outdoor shower and bath are amazing. If you like to go to the beach and swim in the sea I can not sugest a better place. The water is postcard blue and deep 2 meters from the shore already unlike many Thai beaches.
Review 25:The only improvement we advise would be to use less chemical in the swimming pool (and also to change the music of the pool bar!)
Review 26:We loved everything! The eco-friendly style of the hotel, the beautiful villa, the excellent thai food, the super long swimming pool, the peaceful location on Mae Nam beach, the relaxing atmosphere and above all the friendliness and the efficiency of the staff.
Review 27:We went for our honeymoon vacation... We liked the atmosphere and the hotel has a unique mood... staff were so nice and friendly.. And they do their best to help you...they always greet you with a nice smile... they made our vacation amazing..special thanks to Ken and Kluay
Review 28:Great location on the sea, amongst lovely gardens. Villas delightful. Bed on the hard side but nevertheless we slept very well. Great breakfasts in the outdoor restaurant (covered, open at the sides), overlooking the sea. Easy access to the beach. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Review 29:We stayed at Saree Samui for 10 days and we liked it very much. Very nice people, great garden villas, great pool and nice beach. There is not even any point we could complain. We really liked the private pool in the garden. Dont miss to visit the walking street which is 30 minutes away by feet or 150baht by taxi.
Review 30:Bed and pillows could be more comfortable, a little harsh mattress though. It does not prevent me to sleep well, but can be improved) A bit noisy air conditioner. Otherwise all was great.
Review 31:Great cozy place for calm and quality rest. Great inhouse restaurant, cozy villas, and wonderful people around ) Great beach and scenic groomed area, convenient location. Small village around the corner with a lot of nice restaurants markets and everything you need in this type of places.
Review 32:High prices in the restaurant, many little bugs and smallest lizards everywhere, in the room as well. Only this makes me little angry.
Review 33:Very nice place with fantastic pool.
Review 34:Beach (was never really cleaned, loungers etc. in bad condition); service level (inconsistent, sometimes great, sometimes inexistent, although usually good enough); spa (more pain than gain); audibly loud villa neighbors (although they had apparently great sex!).
Review 35:Restaurant (high food quality, fair pricing for a hotel restaurant); breakfast (especially the great selection of freshly prepared egg dishes); hotel property (green and lush); infinity pool; many small restaurants nearby, especially 'Pancake Island'; staff (friendly, responsive to special wishes).
Review 36:- No signage on main road, tough to find hotel - Stray dogs all over place at night, kinda creepy - Expensive restaurant
Review 37:- Right on the Beach - Plenty of lounge chairs by pool - Restaurant location is amazing - Outdoor pool in room was great - Room was perfect for a couple
Review 38:The hotel quite bit old, many mosquitos, and the wifi connection not really good. But it's not a big problems.
Review 39:We stayed for 4 nights and everything was perfect. Great location for relax, the room was lovely, the swimming pool was great, the beach is really nice and quiet, perfect for relaxing, and all the staff is really friendly, specially for jess who greet us at the receptionist, she helps us a lot for the information. The theraphyst at the spa also really good. We did thai massage. Besides that, the hotel close to some good restaurants also close to minimart and tour & massage place.
Review 40:Far away from tourist areas/restaurants/some nightlife as maenam is very quiet. Prices at hotel for food and drinks was very high compared to some of surrounding area. Pool is great but very dark looking water. Not enough sun loungers for all guests. Unless up early then you won't have one at all as some guests (while we were there) left towels on it all day while they were out!!
Review 41:Villa room. Personal outside seating. Large bed. Excellent location for the beach and pier to Islands. Staff friendly, polite and helpful.
Review 42:The resort was excellent but the staff were even better. They always had time to talk to you and always with a smile. Great location on the beach and quiet
Review 43:We chose this hotel for its location next to the pier as we wanted to catch ferry to koh Tao the next day.. It did not disappoint. It took two minutes to walk to. Rooms very special although bathrooms were a little tired. Restaurant food ok... Pool pleasant
Review 44:Commucation via telephone to reception did not work
Review 45:Good location, excellent service
Review 46:The Gala dinner is not worthy
Review 47:Excellent location, absolutely wonderful staff, "NO" was not part of their dictionary. Resort manager was extremely helpful.
Review 48:No enough sun beds for all guests but there is a massive beach so no problem.
Review 49:Every thing was amazing no complaints to have
Review 50:Abit too much chlorine in the pool.
Review 51:staff, Location and feeling of the resort.
Review 52:Evrything was great. Beach really nice, clean and quiet. Great swimming pool, lovely restaurant on the beach. Room are big and staff really nice.
Review 53:your friendly staff & very helpful. Keep it up.
Review 54:Everything- this place is fantastic, from the gorgeous rooms, to the restaurant- it's all top notch
Review 55:Beautiful serene hotel ..wonderful design , best food quality , peace on earth !
Review 56:Mostly
Review 57:Nothing
Review 58:The pool, the breakfast the beach, the service by the pool
Review 59:Could be a bit cheaper. No gym
Review 60:If you like spend time with your family away from all the hasle then i would definately recommend it.
Review 61:Would have liked the menu to allow for some snacks, afternoon tea type things for young kids. As it is there's not much option beyong a full hot meal.
Review 62:Almost everything
Review 63:A lot of mosquito's in and around the rooms and resort, made it hard to relax in the outdoor area at the room. For the price there are plenty of places off season that you can pickup for a lot cheaper
Review 64:The rooms are beautifully done, clean tidy and the staff are extremely helpful we attended a fab wedding here and the location is stunning.
Review 65:There were dozens of mosquitoes in the room when we first entered. The hotel overprices the transport service, but you can get a taxi service right outside. Breakfast wasn't included in our price, and felt pricey, although the food was good.
Review 66:The pool is beautiful, large and nicely located in front the of the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is awesome, white sand, no waves, beautiful water. The breakfast was nice. The room is very large, nicely decorated, comfy bed, nice open bathroom.
Review 67:Distance to main road and the next town Bophut makes use of motorcycle or scooter advisable
Review 68:Calm surroundings, proximity of restaurants and convenience stores as well as Lomprayah Ferry, regular spraying against mosquitos (open air bathroom), breakfast buffet
Review 69:We felt the hotel is a bit run down overall. There were weeds in the gardens, the walkway paving is broken and needs replacing in many places, and the timber deck around the rim-flow pool is warped, patched and missing pieces here and there. The room we stayed in hadn't been well maintained and pre-checked to ensure everything was working before we arrived. We had problems with the shower drainage, the WHB outlet, the satellite TV and the external door which didn't lock. The hotel is also quite far from any facilities like shopping, a pharmacy and public transport which wasn't mentioned on their website.
Review 70:The hotel was very close to the sea with a scenic rim-flow pool overlooking a quiet and clean beach. Our unit was spacious and comfortable as promised. Although we had numerous issues with our room, the staff were very friendly and attended to the issues almost immediately.
Review 71:To go anywhere else for food, street markets and other attractions, it is a bit removed and a long walk (40 mins plus) or taxi ride. Spa prices a little high compared to what we had for better services elsewhere although the setting is fantastic.
Review 72:The rooms, beach, pool and layout were superb. The spa although expensive, was well located and the body scrub and facial very good. If you want to escape to a piece of paradise, this is a great place. The rooms are lovely and secluded and are generous in size. Johns garden restaurant up the road was an excellent alternative for dinner.
Review 73:Wild dogs everywhere at the pool area. I think they came from the temple near the hotel. They looked dirty. We gave them some of our food from the restaurant and they were happy. We felt bad cos they were very thin and hungry. MANY mosquitoes and house lizards in the room ( both indoor and ourdoor) Pool water salty. No phone in the room. Three restaurants and one convenient store outside the hotel. Walking back at night was a bit scary tho. Hotel restaurant so-so. the thai food looked decent but not very authentic.
Review 74:We got the tropical villa, very big and we like the interior. Good price. ( £63 per night) Nice pool. can chill there for the whole day. I don't like nature but if you like, go for it
Review 75:Nothing.
Review 76:It was the easiest trip I have ever had.its def for couples but beautiful I would go back in a heartbeat. The staff couldnt do more to help you and they were extremely friendly. 11 out of 10.
Review 77:The bathroom is open to the small private garden and does take a little getting used to (especially if used during the night...) but it was very spacious and clean.
Review 78:Beautiful villa, so much room. Restaurant was excellent but not cheap. Staff was very helpful, polite and pleasant. Overall highly recommended!
Review 79:Need the renew inside the villas, no kitchen, open style bath in villa is danger for the little kids (it has no cover, so we asked stuff to put the door on it to cover). Very many insects. Hotel Restaurant is the worst one I have ever met, most customers say the same. We had to buy rice steamer to make the food. Location of the hotel is very far from any of facilites, need the car rental daily, 50$ additionaly for car rent to have a chance to go somethere. Taxi is more expansive then car rent! I think taxi price there is the worlds expansive. The sea was very stormy every day, huge waves, big skew on the beach, so the baby can not play on it at all. The hotel is not baby frendly (except the stuff) wood floor was distend so was danger to walk even more for the baby playing.
Review 80:The stuff was fantastic kind and attractive! Nature finest design is a good conseption. Infinity style pool is also great.
Review 81:no phones in the rooms, so is you want anything you have to walk to the bar or front desk. each room has a metal bell hanging outside the from door, as the rooms are close together you cant tell if its your bell or not. House keeping have no understanding of a do not disturb sign, to the extent they climb over the wall to your room if your door is locked. Bed sheets dirty, had to ask 3 times for them to be changed.
Review 82:The hotel has the potential to be excellent with just a few very small changes. The restaurant food is excellent, the restaurant/bar manager is very professional and a credit to the hotel. The pool area and beach are nearly perfect.
Review 83:It would have been nice if the resort's bar would have been open a bit later. After 11 pm there wasn't much to do. Also the restaurant's dishes need some improving.
Review 84:The rooms were really nicely decorated, big and clean. Also the poolside and the beach front were lovely and the waterfront great for swimming! The location is great for those seeking privacy and peace - but still not far away from Fisherman's village, Bophut (about 10 min taxi ride) for eating out and shopping. Also the pier where boats leave to Koh Tao and Phangan was just 100 meters away, if you like to visit the islands. The staff was really nice and helpful - although sometimes the service was bit on the slow side... The spa services were excellent! The quality of the food in the resort's restaurant varied: some dishes were great, others not so great. The set of breakfast was wide. Extra credit for the restaurants organic garden! All in all, we had a great holiday and were really satisfied with the resort!
Review 85:Wi-Fi was a little on the slow side.
Review 86:The restaurant was excellent as was the pool and the spar facility. The staff were 1st class and always keen to be of assistance.
Review 87:My mum and me spent nine nights in the hotel. In a nutshell IT WAS HORRIBLE! The list could go forever but here are the main reasons why: 1) The villas are like from 80s, dirty walls (brown spots), mould in the bathroom, one tiny wardrobe, mosquitoes everywhere, the bath tub is leaking so you can hardly use it, the bed is very uncomfortable. Also, the villas are very close to each other so you can hear all sorts of sounds from your neighbours' open air bathroom (and vice-versa). 2) The telephone has not worked for the whole stay. Ie. no wake-up calls, no in room service, no information, no taxi booking. 3) The wifi is very slow. One day it did not work at all. 4) The staff is not helpful at all. When they do not want to work, they simply pretend that their English is even worse than it actually is! 5) We asked for a discount based on the above objective faults. When the manager came he shouted at me and my mother, he swore at us and he threatened us that "if we have a problem, he will call police"! I have never encountered such behaviour anywhere in the world. 6) The location is terrible but that's more a general note about Koh Samui, which is dirty and ugly with no decent restaurants, with nowhere to go or walk. 7) Its located in the north of the island, which made it very windy and with high waves in the sea. We ended up taking taxi to go to the east of the island every day to be able to actually step in the sea. My advice? Go anywhere else!
Review 88:having snakes, frogs, and other wild animals at the resort toilet and shower facilities outdoors
Review 89:breakfast buffet was good friendly staff and service was good on the beach location
Review 90:it should have some water sports station at the hotel, sith for the kid to plays as well. noe more restaurants will be perfect. and i hope next visit the hotel interphone will be fixed. its really annoying.
Review 91:the hotel is in the very remote area, it's next to the beach, it's quiet, staffs are funny, friendly, ok helpful.
Review 92:We missed relaxing chairs on the patio or in the garden We didn't like one of the waiters who was harassing us, wanting to sell one more drink
Review 93:Loved the location, the pool and especially the food Bungalows were well equipped and good to stay in
Review 94:The pool is stunning, both a lovely scene and good for a decent swim. The breakfast is good, but a little pricey if not included in the room rate. The private outdoor bath and shower is lovely, to bath while looking up at palm trees is a treat. A few good restaurants a few minutes away if you don't want to eat in their restaurant
Review 95:Food in the hotel is expensive - but there are many restaurants near by, and so are massage parlor - so it's not a reason to miss that beautiful hotel!
Review 96:Beautiful & special place! Amazing rooms and very comfortable when travelling with kids - we had connected room with a private outdoors space. The place is very quiet.
Review 97:natural and earthy colors, quiet and relaxing with good harmony between building and beach and garden. outdoor bath tub and open shower were awesome. I loved the lap pool design and the fact that I could exercise too. staff were friendly and always helpful and ready to make your stay perfect
Review 98:Rooms are not entirly free of mosquitos but not a big problem. Pool opening hours (from 7am - 7pm, so no swimming possible at night).
Review 99:Great quiet location, large infinity pool, very friendly and helpful staff, bathroom outside the room, near to the pier for excursions, fantastic breakfast with individually prepared coffee, clean, sandy beach, massage huts on the beach nearby, beach restaurant nearby if you fancy a change form the hotel restaurant which is alos very good, facilities outside the hotel.
Review 100:some of the villas could do with a bit of renovation. We had a villa with private pool but no chairs to lay on. we tried the dinner buffet only once. It was not very good - too expensive and the food was cold.
Review 101:The location is beautiful and it is not too crowded there. Breakfast buffet is nice
Review 102:If I had to complain about anything, it would be the location. As expected, there really isn't much to do in MaeNam.
Review 103:Wonderful resort. Beautiful views, beachfront. Gorgeous and large infinity pool. Free use of kayaks. Restaurant food was the best I've had in ages. The villa was spacious, very clean, quiet and peaceful. Beautiful outdoor patio leading to a very large private pool. Staff very helpful and wonderful to deal with. There was some confusion when checking in as they had overbooked but kindly offered us an upgrade from tropical villa to beach front villa. Highly recommended.
Review 104:The staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. The room was perfect for our needs and the outside shower in the private garden was fun!! Use of a Bose ipod music system was an added bonus.
Review 105:In the villas sometimes you miss a bit of privacy as you can hear everything from your neighbourghs and they can also hear you as well. A thick glass at the top of the wall will avoid this.
Review 106:The style and decoration. The location is perfect. The staff is lovely.
Review 107:The sea is not nice in this area because of the pier. If you are looking for a nice clean sea choose another area in Samui. We wanted a confortable and clean place near the pier to catch a ferry, so it was a good option for us.
Review 108:The place is 5 minutes walk from Mae Nam Pier from which you can catch a fast ferry to other islands like Koh Tao. Staff is very friendly.
Review 109:Limited cupboard space
Review 110:We had a very relaxing holiday at the Saree Samui. The staff were friendly and helpful, good food and a beautiful location. The resort was more remote than we had expected but there were restaurants near by so you weren't too far off the beaten track. Over all if you are looking for somewhere really peaceful the Saree Samui is for you.
Review 111:flys same song on repeat for an entire day in the restaurant. late servicing of the rooms staff not fluent in english poor selection of continental breakfast. swimming pool has dark grouting, appears dirty.
Review 112:rooms with pools, outside feel.
Review 113:Nothing. You would be hard pushed to find anything not to like about Suree Samui. I did notice there were some other less favourable reviews, but from our experience cannot begin to understand these.
Review 114:absolutely everything. The location on the beach is stunning, staff very helpful and the accommodation and amenities are first class, including the outside bathroom. Restaurants and a few shops within easy walking distance. Breakfast was fantastic each day. We would recommend this hotel in an instant.
Review 115:Great beach, very peaceful; beautiful swimming pool and gardens;friendly staff; excellent food; comparing to other similar options inthe island it was an excellent deal.
Review 116:The room could of been cleaner, it looked clean but when we moved furniture looking for a plug socket there was a lot of dust under every piece including the bed
Review 117:The complimentary head and shoulders massages were a nice touch, the manager was excellent around the resort all the time not hiding in an office, the space in and around your room was amazing, the pool and the breakfast were brilliant
Review 118:Big differences from last year: they don't change new bed every day, don't give you a new shower gel for every day. We bought a poolbeach front villa, but I think it was something like outside villa.Breakfast have no difference from day to day, and if you go to eat at10:00 (breakfast until 10:30), there will be no juices or croissaints. As i say, Saree is also one of the interesting hotels in Samui. But from year to year, quality is falling down.
Review 119:This is our second stay in Saree. So, we choosed this hotel because lastyear it was excellent, but not this year. However, location is verygood, and you can enjoy the silence.
Review 120:The only minus is that sea is not so clean because of the pier nearby. Me and my friend stepped into sticky black mazut on the beach.
Review 121:We loved pretty much everything. Even the dogs at the beach - they are clean and friendly. Food is exellent.
Review 122:The staff were fantastic, very attentive to your needs. Both my partner and I could not fault the establishment or the staff and we would like to send a special thank you to Leck the GM. Tania & Nick
Review 123:The bed could have been a bit softer and the lighting could have been better. Service is good, but not great... It just seems to lack the personal touch so typical for Thailand. Don`t go for the beach front villas - they are not actually beachfroont but behind the pool area....
Review 124:The hotel is beautiful and has a very relaxed atmosphere. It was supposed to be fully booked, but it did not feel busy at all. The garden villa was very nice and spacious and we loved the garden with an outside bathroom and living area. The pool area is really nice and right on the beach. We ate both at the pool bar and the restaurant and the food was very good! The hotel is not located in the centre of mae nam and there is not a lot to do or see nearby, but if you are looking for relaxing days by the pool/beach it is the perfect place. And even if the massages were a lot more expensive than on the beach - it was absolutely worth it!
Review 125:We really enjoyed our stay and liked all about this beautiful hotel, beautiful and clean rooms/ villas, very friendly staff, nice location, tasty food...
