Reviews for Motel 6 Bishop
Review 1:There's nothing for me not to like. I have not had any bad experiences here, and I hope I never have any.
Review 2:I like that every time I show here the room is always clean. The floors are swept and mopped. The bathroom is clean and extra toilet paper is left. I like to stay in the same room and they accommodate me as much as possible. The grounds are very quiet. The most noise you will hear is probably around early a.m. where it's time for people to go to work or they're going up the mountain skiing.
Review 3:Would be nice to have a coffee pot in the room, maybe for a charge! More towels.
Review 4:Room was in back on ground floor which was excellent for the dog. Additionally, no traffic noise. Office staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 5:Heater wasnt strong enough for the room + was loud. Walls a little thin. Could use an extra pillow or blanket on the king bed.
Review 6:Good spot to crash on the way to mammoth. Room was obviously newly rennovated.
Review 7:The walls were paper thin. On the bottom floor I could here a couple arguing in a room, there was so much commotion outside with diesels. I had a hard time sleeping with how loud everything was.
Review 8:I was surprised at how well the room actually was. We we're both very pleased with the room and how it was set up. One of the nicest motels I have been to.
Review 9:You can hear the people walking upstairs. But that's a part of anyhotels/motels.
Review 10:Don't believe what you see on the outside. The rooms have beenrefurbished, the beds are comfortable, bathrooms were clean, the wholeentire room was clean, linens fresh, heater worked very well. Ten percentdiscount from Denny's which is across the street tv turned offautomatically.
Review 11:Rooms were clean except the floors. They needed mopping.
Review 12:Good central location in Bishop. Early check in was no problem. Rooms comfortable. Good WiFi. Good aircon too.
Review 13:The parking lot seemed a bit cramped but then again I drive a pick up truck. Room was expensive for a Motel 6 but there are not many choices in Bishop if you traveling with pets.
Review 14:Room was clean. Was pleasantly surprised that the room was larger than expected for a Motel 6.
Review 15:The room when the curtains are closed was very depressing, the modern feel although heading in the right direction lacked any warmth, the lighting was bad
Review 16:The price was way too high despite the fact that the rooms were very nice and clean. For the price asked the hotel could easily have included breakfast!
Review 17:No windows in the toilet.
Review 18:Excellent value for money. Super clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds were queen size, very comfy; just perfect after a long day of driving. Perfectly located between Yosemite Park and the Death Valley. We stopped there on our way to Las Vegas coming from Yosemite Park. Very close to restaurants and cafés. I recommend the restaurant at the local bowling. Great steaks and local wine.
Review 19:Friendly welcome for our late arrival; quick check-in for wearytravelers, no extra fee for petModern décor, refreshing for Motel 6's former image!
Review 20:Not much to dislike --- The outside was clean and well maintained but if you were looking for glitz and glamor, or a real cool selfie of where you stayed, this wasn't the place for that.
Review 21:The room was very clean and comfortable. My wife is a clean freak, and even she was very satisfied with the room. The staff was nice too. I'd stay here again.
Review 22:no wifi due to router being in managers residence and not capable of transceiving with customers equipment. Suggest an outside extended antenna for entire motel area, if you advertise free wifi then make it available for the customers.
Review 23:liked the staff, very helpfull
Review 24:Wi-Fi didn't work, intermittent at best. Refurbishing hotel, not finished. Shower curtain leaked flooding floor, wrong curtain or tub design.
Review 25:Good location, should be nice when referb is done.
Review 26:The king bed room was huge, and empty. Nothing but a bed. Tiny table and chairs against the wall under the mounted TV. No desk, no drawers. The only hangers were oddly placed on the wall next to the refrigerator. No coffee maker. OK if you're doing nothing but sleeping, but would never stay for more than one night.
Review 27:Good location. Pet stays free.
Review 28:The room had hard floor throughout which made it look modern but also quite cold. A rug next to the bed would be nice, so that you don't step on the cold floor when getting up in the morning. Our room had a connecting door to the reception office that you could open a crack, despite being locked. This felt a bit weird and compromised the privacy a little.
Review 29:This place is nice and clean, close to a number of restaurants, and easy to reach. It was perfect for one overnight stay in Bishop while driving from Yosemite to Las Vegas (through Death Valley). With the room keys you get a 10% discount on a few of the nearby restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking and a flat screen TV available.
Review 30:Our room had a view to a wall. The wifi hardly worked in our room, had to go outside for it to work.
Review 31:Location was good, rooms were really neat and tidy.
Review 32:My room was adjacent to a guest with a dog, cat and two birds. The bird squawked from 5p, when I arrived, until 1005p. This, obviously, did not make for a relaxing transition from a hard day of traveling. When I voiced my concern to the Front Desk Clerk and then later with the Manger directly, I was offered a different room, but by then I had already showered, unpacked and was "kicking back" on the bed trying to watch the World Series. I understand "pet friendly" and that is not my complaint. My complaint lies with the management. At 945p I took it upon my self to enquire with the guest if she had a plan for the bird to be silent at 10p when I was intending to go to sleep. During that discussion, I asked if the Manager had contacted her and she said he didn't. The next morning, I told the Manager about that and he said he tried to call twice with no success. I asked if considered knocking on her door. He said he couldn't go into the room. I told him I did not expect that, but a knock on the door is not inappropriate, especially for a facility Manager. In a word, I had to find out the answer to my concern which should have been mediated by the Manager; simply enquire with the "pet" guest her intention to quiet the bird during sleeping hours, then report to the other guest, his findings, i.e. "pet owner ensures that the bird will be silent at 10p onwards, is there anything else I can help you with?" That's Customer Service 101, not two failed phone calls and give up, only to leave the other guest to imagine that at midnight the bird may still be at it. This experience makes for "no confidence" that Motel 6 cares one iota for one single guest with only an overnight reservation compared to the more "expensive" pet-friendly guest with a multiple night reservation.
Review 33:The rooms were recently remodeled and were very nice inside.
Review 34:The staff were very nice and accommodating. The location is great with Starbucks 2 buildings down and a great pizza place near the Smart and Final, just up the block. The pizza place, called Upper Crust I believe has a great beer selection and plenty of vegetarian options. We were climbing at Owens River Gorge for 4 straight daya and being able to get a quick coffee and oatmeal at Starbucks in the morning and good beer and vegetarian pizza after a day of climbing without having to drive to the food locations was perfect.
Review 35:Shower curtain allowed water on floor left big puddles each time you showered, flooring lifting due to water damage next to shower, needed current month for TV Chanel guide, really no coffee maker???
Review 36:Easy to find, staff very friendly and helpful, room was clean, everything worked, TV great picture, beds comfortable, maid service every day...
Review 37:Thin walls and our room had a connection door, so my girlfriend had to sleep with earplugs
Review 38:Location was good, you get discount at a pizza place and Denny's (across the street), room was clean and we had a fridge for too much pizza ;)
Review 39:Our toilet was slow flushed, but they responded fast to fix. Parking was also limited and we had to park on the side street one night.
Review 40:Updated rooms. Laminate flooring seemed odd in a hotel room, but seemed cleaner.
Review 41:- Pretty expensive compared to other Motel 6's
Review 42:- Not the standard, unbelievably slow Motel 6 WiFi, but very fast and reliable. - Refrigerator and microwave - Huge, clean room - Ice cold Airco - Fantastic view - Nice staff
Review 43:I did not like having to go to the motel office to get shampoo and soap for taking a shower...they should be in the room like all other motels.
Review 44:Very clean well maintained room
Review 45:Once We checked in , We saw a lot of truckers guests of the Hotel. I have few friends who make tris kind of job, so I Asked to the reception if they suppose to leave in the early morning. We Also Ask to change our room they replied that was not necessary..They told me that they should respect the hours for silence.... what a big liar!!!!! We woke up at 4:15 in the morning for the noise!!!!!... I suggest this: if fhere are more block in the Hotel.... put all the trukers in the same block and the other guests in the other!!!!! I suggested this Also to the man at the front desk in the morning... he has been arrogant and unpolite. I will never suggest anymore Motel 6..and Consider that I manage an hotel as well in Italy!!!!

Review 51:Slow Internet
Review 52:Very large recently remodeled room. Large very comfortable king size bed. Refrigerator, microwave, new large screen tv.
Review 53:Easy Checkin/out. clean, quiet
Review 54:The walls and door are kind of thin, so you can hear everything what happens outside. For one night it's ok.
Review 55:Some loud guests on one evening
Review 56:Location on main street
Review 57:WiFi was a bit slow, and lack of charm.
Review 58:Clean, convienient and easy
Review 59:Room was updated and had lots of electric outlets. Room was large and good use of space. very modern.
Review 60:has some issues with aNts but it was taken care of by the staff immediately.

Review 73:The room was renovated with new equipoment, it was clean, and roomy.
Review 74:door cards didn't work, so we had to come back to the office and ask to replace them
Review 75:big parking lot friendly stuff good coffee
Review 76:Wifi was a joke.
Review 77:Location, room and pool
Review 78:Everything
Review 79:The noise, the bathroom, the tight car park
Review 80:The cost... we used this as a pit stop during travels
Review 81:there was an option of smoking and non , but the whole hotel was non smoking
Review 82:No breakfast
Review 83:Very nice rooms
Review 84:No Jacuzzi
Review 85:Clean. Large room. Friendly staff.
Review 86:Internet was not working really well. The fridge was not working well too. For the price of the room (around 80$), I was kind of disappointed: I had way better experiences in cheaper motels.
Review 87:Calm and clean. Bed was good too.
Review 88:2 days of not getting our room cleaned. Offers washing services but only one machine and it was down. Cleaning staff doesn't speak English and the front desk didn't want to help. They didn't leave enough towels for 4 people.
Review 89:It's been remodeled so the rooms were nice. Our dog stayed for free.
Review 90:The airco was quite noisy and as it was quite warm difficult to sleep with it off
Review 91:The room was very clean and loved the wood floors. Very comfortable bed as well.
Review 92:Did not received senior discount or AAA unless you ask, then he could not figure out how to reverse payment to apply discount.
Review 93:Location, staff friendliness, clean newly refurbished rooms.
Review 94:Bed was hard, difficult to hang clothes on wall rack.
Review 95:Convenience of location, free WiFi, good-sized room, coffee available at 6 a.m., convenient parking. Met our needs. Was functional but not luxurious.
Review 96:Nothing other than what I explained above
Review 97:As long as this is a pet friendly hotel it would have been nice to have some area out back walk a dog & ofcourse one would clean up!
Review 98:Would love to make coffee in the room. Since Bishop gets lots of birders, it would be nice to have lobby coffee available by 5 am. We head out early!
Review 99:You really considered my requests! I had a room in a super quiet location at the very back, away from pool area. Thank you! Also love the flooring instead of carpet - a much cleaner feel.
Review 100:We did not have hot water the first morning and the front office staff was not too friendly. To top it off our room was not cleaned one day during our stay
Review 101:The location was close to my family
Review 102:Almost left before getting a room because the desk was having trouble with multiple room keys after a recent remodel. A family was locked out of their room because their card keys would not work and they couldn't wake up family member already sleeping in the room they were locked out of. The desk clerk was helpless to get them back into the room or wake the sleeping guest. I finally got my room but had to walk back to the office when my card key didn't work either. Took two tries to get into my room with assistance from the desk clerk who came to my room door to open it for me. Next morning there was no hot water for a shower. The same desk clerk tried letting me into another room in the front building to shower (she believed the whole back building was probably without hot water because there is only one hot water heater per building). AGAIN the card key wouldn't work. Clerk made another key and came to the room but dropped the card key off the balcony half way there. The master key did not work in any of two or three doors the clerk tried. Screwed around for 45 minutes before leaving WITHOUT A SHOWER. Desk offered 10% discount. Reason I get a room when I travel: 50% bed at night 50% shower in the morning I could have slept in my van, saved the hassle and money and still woke up smelling like a trucker. Motel 6 corporate was no help: "independently owned and operated". Will NEVER stay there again. Owners left a solo employee holding the bag on New Years Eve and New Years Day with recently updated door locks and/or card key software that don't work. As far as I know, the whole back building was without hot water so there should be lots of other guests complaining about the same weekend.
Review 103:Location
Review 104:Bathroom leak floor constantly wet. No weather stripping around door, heater ran loudly all night. Coke machine still broken. TP was tissue paper. Upstairs tenants sounded like they were coming down on us.
Review 105:Location and staff were great.
Review 106:No decor in the room at all. Internet never worked, even after I called the front desk. Toilet didn't flush properly. One has to pay for shampoo and there is no hair dryer.
Review 107:The room was clean and quite (maybe too?) spacious.
Review 108:No facial tissue, shampoo, hair dryer, coffee/tea. Booking made by daughter who forgot to ask for senior discount, couldn't change at desk due to Booking.com policy, Won't use Booking.com again
Review 109:Large room, king bed
Review 110:Nothing...mountain view was great too
Review 111:Very clean...basic done well...no frills but for the things that count - cleanliness, good mattress, good shower, quiet, safe, across street from Denny's and good pizza joint just up the street...Starbucks a couple businesses south of the hotel...great way to come down from Yosemite. Would do it again.
Review 112:Everything in the town seemed to close up early, so make sure that you don't wait too long to eat.
Review 113:This was one of the strangest Motel 6s I've ever been to, but I don't mean that in a derogatory way. My second floor room had wood floors and a bed that felt bigger than the king bed I had reserved. The bathroom was reminiscent of some 70s mod theme - funky shapes and colors - but it was clean, nonetheless. It was an interesting experience, but kind of fun. The hotel is within walking distance of tons of places to eat ranging from KFC to a bakery to a barbecue joint (which was excellent). The woman who checked me in was very helpful and accommodating, even calling the room a few minutes after I had checked in to make sure that everything was alright. The whole experience was above and beyond what you would ever expect from a Motel 6.
Review 114:laundry facilities nor sufficient, especially in spite of the many families staying there.
Review 115:very friendly, helpful staff. Nicely renovated room, just a pitty the door didn't close properly...
Review 116:1.no light in the bathroom, 2. AC wasn't cooling 3. bed bugs and floor bugs, 4. When I told the receptionist he didn't apologize or discount our room or offered anything to compensate us for staying under those conditions
Review 117:liked the location and one of the receptionist was nice, Also liked the design of the room
Review 118:At $115 a night it's over priced at half that rate! I could run a golf ball under one side of the front door, & listen to everyone else in the rooms around! Bishop as a village is also overpriced - drive on!
Review 119:Very little.
Review 120:Check-in, attractive room with comfortable beds, good parking, very good TV, just off hi-way but nice and quiet. Good value for the money and easy check-out.
Review 121:Phone call in my room asking for registration info and credit card info, which I didn't give. When I checked with the office they newnothing...scam!?
Review 122:The staff spoke to each other, regarding my requests, in another language while I was checking in.
Review 123:The room was newly refurbished and very comfortable.
Review 124:They have remodeled since the last time I was there. They replaced carpet with laminate wood flooring. The guests above me could be easily heard walking across their room in the middle of the night. Plumbing from other rooms echoed throughout my room. I used to stay there in my travels, but not anymore....
Review 125:Motel 6 is an ideal location in town near the local events and restaurants.
