Reviews for Express Inn & Suites Eugene

Review 1:The only problem we had was the website advertised continental breakfast which was not included

Review 2:The staff was wonderful and after sleeping on an air mattress the comfort and overall appearance was just great

Review 3:Staff had an issue with another customer at 11:00 p.m.the yelling from outside the customers door was so loud I could here it from my room with the door shut. Staff needs to learn assertive skills to handle these kinds of situations without upsetting the other customers! and then there were sirens all night long and I kept thinking they were coming to the motel to help the manager exit someone! I live just 45 mi. away and booked so I would be able to get more sleep before an early morning flight! I would have gotten more sleep had I stayed home!

Review 4:Staff was friendly, room had ample room, not crowded and was reasonably clean with firm mattress.

Review 5:No ice machines, owner out of her own fridge. No blow dryer had to go to the office again. Breakfast was a banana. No coffee makers in the room. Had to go to the office again for coffee

Review 6:Very dirty and run down property. No extra lock inside the room for added safety. Free breakfast was sub par. Bed was sunk in the middle and very old. Pillow were hard as rocks and blankets were thin. Sheets did not look clean, and no coffee maker in room

Review 7:The staff was very friendly

Review 8:The a/c-heater sounded like a jet plane and woke me up every time it kicked on in the night due to cold weather. The refrigerator froze my food. Parking lot was dead end and hard to navigate with mini-van

Review 9:They had a room on a game weekend.

Review 10:Checked in at 5am. I asked if they were counting my check in as yesterday or the current day because I wanted more than 4 hours of sleep for sixty some dollars and I was assured I wouldn't have to check out until the next day. 11 am comes and there's a knock at the door. Long story short they made us leave and pay sixty some dollars for 4 hours of sleep. Don't stay here!!!

Review 11:Room wad clean

Review 12:Opening the door into the room the first smell was urine. Near one of the beds the smell was the strongest which made us think someone had peed there. Also blood on the walls which there was an attempt to clean but could still see it there. Would give it a rating of 1 but doesn't seem to be allowed on booking.com

Review 13:Front desk staff was friendly and gave us a refund when we requested it.

Review 14:6th St. Paving project made ingress/egress almost impossible. While rooms were nonsmoking there were multitude of smokers standing in front of their units -- smoke drifts!!!! My wife has COPD -- will not return to this complex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review 15:When we arrived we were met by a very pleasant young lady and the check in just took a couple of minutes. The room was large (2 beds and a small loveseat) and very clean. The bathroom was very clean and new looking. The price was great. The pillows left a little to be desired but I always travel with my own pillow so it was not an issue. The road construction was yucky but that just happens and looks like it will be completed soon. They served very good coffee, rolls and bananas in the office in the morning. All in all I think it was a great place to stay and will stay there again if in the area.

Review 16:Some of the furnishings were grungy---a somewhat stained couch with a cigarette burn, a lampshade with a big conspicuous water stain, an old creased carpet---and there was a slightly unclean odor (which, however, I quickly got used to, and didn't notice after the first of my six nights there). Bad location off busy highway; the massive road construction going on during my stay made it far worse.

Review 17:Very nice and helpful staff.

Review 18:The manager went outing his way to give us what we needed. He even let us borrow something. A rare find in human commerce. Nice family owned business

Review 19:We were in the studio, which had a living area and kitchen along with our bedroom and bath. Nice and with a good view. The breakfast was better than most.

Review 20:Unraveling carpet, mold in bathroom, a little sketchy area, breakfast an Everhardt minidanish in cellophane with tea colored coffee. Sorry

Review 21:The owners are very nice and welcoming.

Review 22:Back pain in the morning, but may not have been the bed. Had sat in Autzen for the game that day, and we're not young.

Review 23:Room layout was unique and amusing. Bathroom was large. Free wifi.

Review 24:The beds could be a little bit better but did the job.

Review 25:For the price great! Gal at the front desk was very friendly. The rooms are long and feel spacious. We will be staying here for all of football season.

Review 26:The room is quite large and was clean. The staff was very friendly. We called ahead because we were arriving later than anticipated and they were fine with that. Checking in and out was very easy and fast.

Review 27:The parking lot. Parking was really tight and very complicated. My rental car was hit by another guest trying to park. She was great about letting me know though. Not too many honest people like her.

Review 28:The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the access of having a little refrigerator and microwave. The location was also great because we were there for an orientation at the University.

Review 29:Very noisy - cars and people who were staying at the motel. I did not feel safe. Motel located in the wrong part of town. People staying smoked a lot on the balconies. Did not feel safe with my window open.

Review 30:The very nice owners.

Review 31:Blanket on bed was dirty or very worn...we were in a non-smoking room and there were burn holes in the blanket. I took it off the bed and got a blanket from my car to use. Disgusting blanket. "Breakfast" was a joke!

Review 32:It was close to where I wanted to go.

Review 33:Bed was hard as a rock, after 2 nights my back felt like I'd been beaten with a baseball bat. Water pressure in shower was non-existent.

Review 34:Clean, friendly staff, & good sized room. The refrigerator & microwave came in very handy. Overall a decent place for a decent price.

Review 35:television old and barely worked. no remote in room, when they brought one it would only change channels - would not shut tv off, or adjust volume. under the bed was filthy. Wi-Fi hardly worked - was practically useless. continental breakfast was overripe bananas and a few generic packaged pastries. no coffee in rooms - went to office in the morning and none was made. office had overwhelming smell (curry?) no hairdryer in room. homeless people all around.

Review 36:Hard bed; thin, non-fitted sheets. Two bananas, no coffee, no pre-packaged butterhorns made up the Free breakfast. Had to request ahairdryer. Had to wait for someone to come check me in.smelly swampcooler, $65 was way too much to pay for this hole, and no safety latchon the door.

Review 37:I wouldn't let my worst enemy sleep on that mattress and pillow. No amenities like a pool. "Free" wifi wouldn't work on any device. TV and furnishings outdated.

Review 38:Spacious rooms.

Review 39:Sticky bathroom tile floor. Wobbly toilet tissue stand. Paper thin sheets. Dirty bed blankets. Bugs in the shower area. High truck traffic, noisy. Construction obstructions and noise. One star max motel.

Review 40:Good desk service

Review 41:The bed was uncomfortable and the location was noisy: barking dogs across the street, very loud air conditioner, trains, other guests making noise at 2-3 am. Had the room been half the price, I would have been happier to put up with these inconveniences. For the amount we paid, not so much.

Review 42:Staff provided an extra set of pillows to mitigate the bad bed and the two hard, thin pillows.

Review 43:The entrance (for cars) stinks, but it's not the hotel's fault. Be careful, and be in the left lane, and don't go to the next hotel down the road. Don't let this stop you.

Review 44:Clean, stuff works, comfortable, pretty quiet, in a neighborhood with a bazillion good places to eat, and 5 minutes from the event center. Remember to look RIGHT into the lane you're entering when you leave, not left, it's a one way street with crazy drivers.

Review 45:Convenient and close enough to the Amtrak station, that it wasn't too much of a hassle for me and my friend to walk to while dragging four pieces of luggage. There were a few inns closer to the station, but this one is right across from a 7-Eleven, which is a godsend for tired, hungry, budget travelers! Amy was amazingly accommodating and generous and helped us newbies a great deal throughout our whole stay.

Review 46:Barely enough toilet paper, no Kleenex tissue, very skimpy continental breakfast...prepackaged danish and coffee only, no ice machine.

Review 47:Very friendly staff, very clean room.

Review 48:The bed might have been a bit softer if I had to complain.

Review 49:Location was great, staff was very pleasant and professional, room was very spacious and clean, bathroom was clean and the water stayed hot for my full shower, good parking and all for a great price.

Review 50:The manager does it all. She is great. The price is super and location is great. The breakfast is simple, but there are good bakeries within walking. And, everyone in our group slept well. Thanks

Review 51:My husband and 19 year old son was impressed with the size of the room where we stayed. We came from Seattle where we stayed in one of the bigger hotels and it was so cramped. When they saw how big our room was, all they could say was "WOW this is better than the previous hotel we stayed at." The room was clean and I think I got my money's worth.

Review 52:We were never able to get Wifi while we were there which was disappointing. Plan on going out to breakfast as the continental breakfast is bananas, a prepackaged pastry and coffee.

Review 53:The room was very spacious and extremely clean!

Review 54:The room smelled very strongly like smoke even though it was non-smoking. The location was kind of in a sketchy area of the city with an abundance of run down buildings, homeless people, and spray paint to be seen in all directions. Overall, we realized it was rather harmless but it definitely creates the appearance that it's unsafe.

Review 55:The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. It was better than expected for the price we paid. If I had to, I would feel comfortable staying here again.

Review 56:Bed was very hard. Wi-fi was weak, spotty, mostly insufficient. Worst "continental breakfast" I've ever seen! I had to pay cash for a late check-out!

Review 57:Amy's customer service was EXCELLENT! Housekeeping was prompt and friendly. Room was very clean.

Review 58:Although it was a non-smoking room, the room still smelled strongly of smoke. It caused me to wake up with red eyes and all of my clothes required washing upon arriving home.

Review 59:Friendly staff, free WiFi, very central location, clean rooms and linens, ease of parking and secure lot.

Review 60:The locatio. Is great with great restaurants, coffee shops, and groceries all within a couoke blocks. And very central with so much else only 5 min away by car. Hosts are super nice and welcoming .

Review 61:The location was terrible. Do not walk around at night. The group I was will felt very unsafe walking to the 7-11 across the street. The beds were a little hard and the breakfast was a small danish.

Review 62:The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 63:We were looking for an inexpensive hotel that was clean and we found it. The place is very centrally located, lots of parking, easy to find. Beds were clean, bathroom very clean, Small TV, microwave and fridge. Everything needed. It was much nicer than the last one we stayed at just down the street. The manager was very nice, would definitely recommend!!

Review 64:6th is a Main Street so if your a semi light sleeper you will be awake a lot at night.

Review 65:The price was fair for what you get and the location was convenient.

Review 66:First, the signage is such that I guarantee you will pass this place and need to go around the block. There weren't enough plugins in the room to plug everything in, and the one near the bed had a broken duplex receptacle (plugin). Breakfast consists of coffee and those individually packaged sweet rolls, from what I could see, but that is all right with me.

Review 67:Rooms are clean and recently upgraded. Quite a bit more room than some newer places. They people that operate this place are super, upbeat people.

Review 68:Refridgerator didn't work. Wifi worked in our Apple, but not PC laptop.

Review 69:Super clean room, seemed newly remodeled. Pride definitely taken in the upkeep.

Review 70:Busy noisy street. Noisy neighbors. They seemed to be more than one night stayers. Smoked and talked outside next to our door until very late. Parking lot is too small. We all had to back up to go out the entrance since a large van parked across from a truck.

Review 71:Breakfast was just a banana and small pastry.

Review 72:The room was clean and spacious. Staff were friendly. Location was close to restaurants and a short drive to the heart of downtown.

Review 73:Bed could have been a touch more comfortable, but overall it was OK.

Review 74:I have stayed at this hotel twice now, and both times the staff is friendly, and the room is clean. I would highly recommend this if you just need a clean inexpensive place to stay.

Review 75:TV too low to watch from bed. Mattress is old & need to be up dated.

Review 76:Large space, clean, nice out side land scape. Out side chairs to sit on. New up dated in side( carpe, floors, bathroom). Pleasant colors in room.

Review 77:N/A: All was good!

Review 78:I like that the rooms are very clean, and the managers or owners are very nice and welcoming. Asked for extra towels, and there they were. Quiet Area, as its winter.

Review 79:Parking was limited and nearby restaurants closed early leaving several members of our party who arrived past 9.00 PM eating convenience food from the 7 eleven across the street.

Review 80:We had very little problem getting to and from U of O for a football game. The staff were very accommodating when we needed to change from a single queen room to a double queen room as we ended up with an extra person joining our group.

Review 81:For starters, Coffee in the coffee pot was cold, it did address their would be coffee , very stiff & hard bed. Parking not so good. Continental Breakfast was really poor. Every time I asked them to please make more coffee they didn't no matter the hour.

Review 82:Large flat screen.

Review 83:location sucks, not the best area, one-way road every time you leave the parking lot, makes it hard to get out. WiFi is spotty and slow, room was pretty dirty looking, stains on the couch and chairs, cobwebs and live spiders were in the corners by the door.

Review 84:bed was comfy.

Review 85:I have no complaints: It was all great!

Review 86:I liked that the staff, was so friendly and so helpful. I locked my keys in my car, the next morning and the owner, went to look for something to unlock it for me. He was very nice and thoughtful. This is a very nice family, who runs this motel.

Review 87:If you just need a place to stay the night that isn't scary & you don't want to spend much, this is it. It was clean, comfortable, & very inexpensive. Super nice front desk too.

Review 88:Some night noise outside.. but hey, it was a Saturday Night, and football season in the air!

Review 89:I like the fact, that customer service was great! I have stayed at other motels, close to this one, and it was horrible. The guy at the counter, gave me extra towels, as I had asked for on this site. Rooms were very clean and very nice.

Review 90:Traffic noise (but it was mostly circumvented by turning on the AC/HEAT unit or just the fan in the unit.

Review 91:Friendliness of management; overall appearance of facility; absolute cleanliness of room!!

Review 92:No hangers Tub, while renovated was poorly done - cracks and mildew appearing from open and caulked areas. Old style tub curtain style. Short on extra pillow or warm blanket. Dresser drawers were uneven as though one came from another unit. Shipping tape on head board for one of the queens. Couch - eh old but clean. In the morning coffee & rolls were laid out in the office, but we could not access them because the office door was locked. We left @ 7:30. Key was left in the room because there was not a key drop that I could see.

Review 93:Bedding Clean Quiet Nice TV Clean sink & Toilet

Review 94:Breakfast in the morning was bananas, some stale-looking pastry and horrible coffee.

Review 95:Good wi-fi. There is a 7-Eleven across the street with good coffee.

Review 96:Can hear every train in Eugene but they are so loud you will hear them EVERYWHERE!! A couple of ropey looking people about but no issues with them as walked around at night with no incident.

Review 97:Friendly staff, clean, spacious and pretty modern. Close to some restaurants and bars.

Review 98:A great place to stay for the price. Easy to get to close to downtown. friendly staff, no ice machine but the manager gave me some from there personal fridge. Would stay there again

Review 99:A little noisy. We could hear the trains blowing their horns.

Review 100:We paid about $50.00 for our night here. That is hard to beat. It was interesting, all of the art on the walls was hung about 3~4 feet too high. It was a little weird.

Review 101:Pillows felt like cement sacks, so we bought our own and gave them away when we left--and still saved money because this place is inexpensive. Office was unoccupied and locked when we tried to check out, so we just left key and vamoosed. Don't even consider eating their poor excuse for breakfast, get some real food at the store just down the street. There are druggies on the street, but they did not bother us.

Review 102:Price is good, cleanliness is okay.

Review 103:I have stayed at this hotel 5 times but had to cancel this time. I understand that I lost one night but it took the hotel 18 days to refund me because they charged for the complete trip instead.

Review 104:Location

Review 105:The location is not the nicest part of Eugene but we felt safe.

Review 106:The price was right for a busy football weekend. The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful.

Review 107:The lobby door was locked for check in (got there at 1am) and completed my transaction through a small window which made me feel uncomfortable as if I chose the wrong part of town and place to stay. The room was visually clean but I had a feeling that if I had a black light then I would discover unwanted discoveries. For checking out, the "housekeeper" asked for my key and said thank you. Didn't say thank you for staying or anything to make me feel like an appreciated customer. I tried to go to the front office to get a map and ask a question regarding a taxi service and it was locked and nobody inside to assist me. I regret staying there for the night when I could've gotten better service and room elsewhere.

Review 108:Some what close to the airport (7 miles away)

Review 109:We as a group of friends liked the ambience, the staff, the rooms and the coffee served in breakfast. the rooms were spacious and comfortable. After a long journey we needed some good rest and this Inn gave us that. Comfortable rooms and nice ambience gave us a pleasant stay. The owner of the Inn was really friendly and helpful in guiding us about good restaurant.

Review 110:The carpet looked like it needed to be cleaned.

Review 111:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and nicely laid out and the bed was comfortable. The bedding and towels were very clean.

Review 112:My room was infected with bugs. BUGS every where! On the bed, on the wall, on the floor. Also could not access the wifi and had to ask the front office for tiny bags of ice. Worst experience EVER!!!

Review 113:Nothing

Review 114:I wish there were breakfast.

Review 115:My husband and I were looking for a motel to stay that was affordable. We were there to honor fallen soldier families and it was one of many stops. What a wonderful surprise to find the best motel of all we stayed on our 11 day journey. I recommend this motel very highly. The staff was wonderful in every way.

Review 116:Parking Sucks. Commercial trucks fill the lot and on street parking is sketchy.

Review 117:Location - right in the middle of the Whitaker district. Great fun within walking district. Great chow, pubs, breweries.... Value - great bang for the buck if you are just looking for a place to crash.

Review 118:Staff wasn't very helpful. Tried to check in early, I was told I had to pay an extra amount (totaly agreed I was exhausted from the long drive anyway) and I went back as instructed (twice) to give them time to ready the room. When I returned I spoke to a different person and I was told there were no rooms available until my check in time so I had to wait. There was a bad odor in the room, mini fridge did not work.

Review 119:the price was decent, area not so good. When you're booking it says breakfast included. Well, breakfast was coffee, pastries and banana. Not bad, but I did expect a "breakfast"

Review 120:I wish they had laundry facilities and the nearest is in the big Y center about 1 mile down W 6th.

Review 121:Ive been to Motels all over Oregon and this IS the most reasonably priced, with the most bang for the buck you can get.The air conditioners are super clean,no smell like many other motels. The room is squeaky clean with new carpet and large bathroom, shower space. The room is spacious.Plus a fridge and microwave.Excellent.$49 plus tax=$55 + or -.This is monday to thursday rate, but this is middle of summer when all portland motels, for example, sky rocket to $100 -$300 a night. All junky and over priced.Avoid portland,go to eugene instead.Plus tons of excellent restaurants right in the neighborhood.

Review 122:Parking sucks! Lot too small and big commercial trucks were parkedthere. Big Drawback!

Review 123:Location!! Party in "The Whit". Close to great chow anddrinks. Don't miss Ninkasi Brewery and the bakery.

Review 124:Getting charged for the stay imediately upon arriving, usually pay atthe end of a stay. Soap was like sandpaper.

Review 125:Clean, weren't bothered by staff. Located close to the venue ofour event.

Review 126:Parking was a bit tight. The hotel is situated next to a busy street (one-way). Some of the businesses, located close by, were a bit questionable. The breakfast is definitely "continental" as we could choose from a bowl of fruit (bananas by the time we got there), pre-packaged pastries, juice drink and coffee.

Review 127:The staff, by far, was excellent. Besides being friendly, they were both kind and efficient and informed (for example, we were given very precise directions on how to arrive at the local Fred Meyer's). The ample-sized room was very clean and comfortable. For our intents and purposes, the room was comfortable and restful. The air conditioning worked fast and cooled the room down quickly. We only needed the room to stay each night as we were out all day, every day of our stay. The cost of staying there was quite reasonable - twice what it would have cost us to camp - but so worth a comfortable bed and a warm shower! The lobby had the usual stand of pamphlets plus a removable map of the Eugene environs. It is highly likely, should we return, that we would stay here again. It is not luxury but it is pleasant.

Review 128:I did not enjoy staying in the neighborhood. I did not feel safe.

Review 129:I liked the price initally, but was surprised to find the location in a substandard neighborhood.

Review 130:Rooms need to be upgraded. Carpets are old and stained. TV is old fashioned and doesn't have an HDMI cable. Situated on busy street.

Review 131:Okay value for money. Staff was very friendly.

Review 132:no coffee machine inside the room. internet is a bit slow.

Review 133:very welcoming and friendly staff. very clean, and well kept, from inside and outside. walking distance from downtown. I would stay again if I am in town.
