Reviews for U&Me Hotel

Review 1:Rooms somewhat small (good enough for me though)

Review 2:Perfect location near the river in the heart of the city, parking garage in front of the hotel, great view, easy check in and out. Rooms with nice details

Review 3:No staff. If you lose your booking number you are completly lost, andhave to sleep on the street.Ventilation in the small room givs you haedake and a stiff neck.

Review 4:The hotel is in the centre of the city.

Review 5:Everything works automatically and it works well. But I have to admit that I prefer having a human check in. Also, the rooms are a bit dark for my tastes.

Review 6:Beautiful view! Good breakfast, high quality. Nice character of the place, very young.

Review 7:Nothing very much - some 'external' lights on the windows spoilt the night time views, and would be good to have proper double beds rather than 2 singles joined together.

Review 8:Great corner room with wrap around windows and fantastic views of the city. The self check-in and Check out facilities are novel and the continental breakfasts were hearty. Clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

Review 9:No reception - do it yourself check-in None to ask about not functioning wifi No minibar and no bars open in the neighborhood after 23.30 No wardrobe No shelf for toiletry bag No hangers for towels to dry over night - encourage guests to use to many towels Only 1 electrical outlet on each side of the dubblebed in a brand-new hotel where guests often want to charge both mobile and laptop Extremely poor breakfast to be in Sweden (i e one single bread to choose)

Review 10:Problems with checking in at the machine - there is no reception desk and you must call on a phone to get to speak to someone.

Review 11:Nice interior design and clean. Excellent view.

Review 12:The room was a bit small than what I expected but the view to the river and the very smart arrangement of the furniture made this into a non-issue

Review 13:Brand new hotel, in great location and with a very clever concept (self-service).

Review 14:No personnel, but that was the point (regarding the rating system.). Temperature locked, not adjustable. Furniture placed in the middle, not along walls. Didn't work for me. But, not a big issue.

Review 15:Cool, different but not too different. Room furniture all placed in the middle, not along walls. Interesting. Awesome views. Definately worth it for the views. And a Coop foodstore across the street for the munchies. Public Library in the same building (the place with books, remember them??).

Review 16:The Entrance to the Hotel, also problem with self check-in, Shower room. breakfast is very poor for small bread and no choice of meat for sandwich.

Review 17:Reasonable Price. We're like for the general atmosphere, clean, the room is small but comfortable. good location.

Review 18:Breakfast was delicious with super high quality Scandinavian products at their best, but would be nice to have more variety.

Review 19:Best looking hotel I have ever been in. Mindblowing attention to detail, many accessories in the room, fantastic views (room 923), flawless Wifi, small but extremelly practical and well organized room. Breakfast quality was top notch although there wasn't much variety.

Review 20:The reception is a computer and nobody answered the telephone. Thus, as Booking committed a mistake with my name, I couldn't get my key...until I put a some imagination on it. Breakfast is not a great thing. There's not a single cabinet.

Review 21:It's brand new and our room had an exceptional view. The building, the public library, the patio...

Review 22:Does NOT offer parking!!! I specifically searched for hotels WITH parking. Does not have reception, had to call the number on the reservation to get information about parking. They claim that there is a parking garage 50m from the hotel, 130SEK a day and that it was guarded. I did not see any guards, and people had free access to the parking area.

Review 23:Excellent view over the river from the room. Very good and comfortable beds.

Review 24:Fully automated check-in did not work - first machine could not find reservation, then did not issue key card. Instructions on using the helpline was non-existent and so prior guests have to help newer guests. Hotel is rather overwhelmingly high-tech. Was told off by counter staff at breakfast time for helping myself to two mini-croissants measuring 4 cm and told entitled to one!

Review 25:The view from the room, the decor, channel choice, bed comfort.

Review 26:Check-in is done electronic and that is OK if and only if the check-in machine is working well. And as you guessed the check-in process and equipment at Ume is rally bad and user unfriendly.

Review 27:Location

Review 28:Hotel uses self-service check-in machines (airport style) and there is no reception desk. OK in principle, but there are not enough machines and when I was trying to check in they were not working well.

Review 29:Nice clean room, view, fresh and quick breakfast

Review 30:Small room for price, given it's a small city. No staff meant no support if you need anything extra, like problems with credit card, or needing to store baggage. Air conditioning coudn't be turned off so was a bit noisey & drafty.

Review 31:Great location. Wonderful views of the city. Thick curtains (great given the bright nights in summer)

Review 32:The breakfast was not good enough for the price of the room - too limited choice...

Review 33:The location as really central. The building itself is great. The P5 floor is perfect for conference/meeting/events! The room are amazing, really liked it.

Review 34:If your idea of a nice hotel stay is total absence of staff, all functions automatized and total independency of human assistance, this new hotel concept is probably the thing. You depend totally on written instructions, and if you are not fluent in English or Swedish, you will probably have problems. Very modern and elegantly designed, but in our opinion it was totally dysfunctional. For a start the automatic check-in didn`t accept my booking.com number or pin code, so I had to call the emergency phone connected to the automat. After having some trouble finding the line, that is. At last a nice and helpful persom gave me a new number, so we could print out our room keys. The room had a modern design, but felt small and unpractical and lacked everything that is rather basic to this price: a warderobe, a couple of chairs, a refrigerator or minibar and more. We had some trouble finding out how the lightning worked, and with no staff around to help we never did during the stay. Breakfast was in a restaurant at the entrance, and was based on self-service, where written instructions on signs tell you exactly what items you can pick for your breakfast. We were glad that our stay didn`t last more than one night, and next time we will choose a traditional hotel With human beings around.

Review 35:View of the river and comfort of the bed

Review 36:Why I have taken time to write this letter is to help as many as possible to find right Hotel for traveling and I can without any brag tell to you that I don`t know anybody who have more experiences with traveling and staying in Hotels and Guest Houses alone and together with people in all ages than I have also among the already dead people her on this earth that not least Princess Märtha Louise with the devilish dangerous idolatry head have regularly contact with (is claiming it is equal easy to get in touch with as the angels). Nevertheless with only a few/little careful comments from some of the Church babies. U&Me Hotel is a very nice Hotel and I have nothing to complain about except from the Cold Swedish weather in Mai. If you shall travel to Sweden I recommend you on the strongest to do it from around 1. June - 1. September because of the temperature is nicest then. Maybe it is little to early 1. June in Umeå because of it is not so far away from Trondheim in Norway Rather said is situated north and you cannot look away from it can snow there in June. I am not sure if it is normally with snowing in June in Umeå? Then you will maybe ask: Why traveled you in Mai when you recommend other on the strongest to not travel there before 1. June? It was an event that took place in Mai and was the reason for it. If you ask: Why have you not given points about the Gratis WI – FI? Because of I spend the computer time on watching porn films instead this day. Then you should have enough information to can find the right Hotel or Guest House for staying in except from one important thing: I recommend you on the strongest to ask for a room in the Hotel and Guest House you have chosen which you cannot hear from the neighbor rooms when people are breaking out small and big farts from their mouth and asshole. Kind Regards The Travel Expert

Review 37:I prefer a Scandinavian buffet instead of a very limited breakfast where you have to pay extra for additional things. That is definitely not common in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmar. A reception would also be nicer. They sell the fact that they do not have people available as a new philosophy. It might fit some people with sociophobia, but I like people.

Review 38:The rooms are well designed. Modern. I liked that the bed is facing the window. Nice bathroom. Quiet and calm. Very good beds.

Review 39:I definitely prefer a buffet for breakfast. here you get one small sub, yoghurt, coffee and orange juice and a egg for breakfast. Additional stuff has to be paid additionally. This is not Scandinavian style.

Review 40:I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Umeå throughout the years. This one is new and situated in the new house of culture. No reception, that is ok, since the computer worked well to get my key and receipt. Comfortable beds with a view and bathtub in th medium rooms.

Review 41:We came in the middle of the night, from "wrong side" og the hotel. It was quite hard task to find right door to get in. Even harder it got when we tried to get keycards - pre-info letters were mixed up and that caused a lot of problems in check-in procedure. Had to call to info three times, and finally the officer brought us new keycards.

Review 42:Extremely nice bed and fancy room all the way.

Review 43:"The new philosophy of hotel"... Forgive me, I prefer the old one :) The so-called new philosophy means hiding behind three technological gadgets an absolute lack of human presence and care for the travellers. The breakfast is ridiculous... where you arrive at a counter where written board tells you 1. 2. 3. what you have the right to choose. The only human you are likely to meet is the girl who consciously check you are not taking two micro croissants when you are only entitled to one ! But great view :D I will come back... it says it all :D

Review 44:Ask for a river view, the landscape is just breathtaking at any moment of the day. In the morning the fog was covering the town, and you could see slowly appearing, on the other side of the frozen river, red houses and frost covered trees. Magical !

Review 45:Not many options at breakfast, difficult if you have lactose intolerance or similar. However, the prices for additional stuff weren´t that bad for Sweden and usually breakfast is anyways not included in Swedish hotels. However, a few more options would be great. The page didn´t say if there are lockers, but in fact there are some in the lobby (cabin baggage sized). You need 10 SEK to lock your luggage and they do not exchange money in the café - you´ll have to go to the stores around.

Review 46:I liked the quick checkin, very clean rooms and on top of that it´s very quiet at night. The bed was for sure one of the more comfortable ones I´ve seen in a hotel. The extras you can book. The location is just perfect around the corner of the bus station and maybe 500m away from the central station. There are supermarkets and restaurants close by and the trip to the airport takes maybe 15 minutes. If there´s a problem you quickly find someone to help. Nice staff.

Review 47:Apparently the sound insulation isn't all that thick - you could clearly tell when the guests staying above used the shower or flushed the toilet and hear the staff cleaning adjacent rooms. Not a deal breaker by any means. Just a really minor nuisance.

Review 48:Very good location pretty much at the heart of the city so all the shops, restaurants, pubs etc. are within walking distance. Free WiFi works right off the bat - no signing in required.

Review 49:Felt impersonal without reception staff (was unaware of this when I booked) Breakfast was disappointing Poor ventilation in bathroom - already smells musty despite looking almost new

Review 50:New and very clean facilities Great view from bed Convenient location

Review 51:I missed my email with check in details from U&me and the booking.com number did not work.

Review 52:My third stay at U&Me.... This time I really needed the staff person for help and he was so nice! Breakfast now with free additionals!

Review 53:too small room minimalist breakfast with no options shower too narrow and dark

Review 54:excellent location, close to airport. view from the room cleanliness room facilities loved the yoghurt served at breakfast

Review 55:I did not understand how to manage the lightning in the room:-) and, he room was very small.

Review 56:I did like the high quality breakfast from the café Kulturbageriet. Just excellent! Wonderful interior design and functional solutions.

Review 57:Everybody eats exact the same breakfast: one ham and cheese baguette, one bucket of youghurt and musli and a cup of coffee/tea.

Review 58:A new hotel with high standard. Good view over the river (or town) Silence, no noice from fan or other guests,

Review 59:The hotel is brand new and the elevator did not work properly but that must be working next time, so no big deal.

Review 60:Easy to check in and the included breakfast is excellent and you can add beautiful traditional bakery, eggs or just about anything... for a small cost. The location is in the city centre, close to everything.

Review 61:The room wasn't all that clean and the lighting didn't work properly. The TV didn't work for most of the evening.

Review 62:The decor was very nice and the lobby was very nice. Also the staff free check-in and check-out was a nice toutch. The room was all i needed and nicely decorated.

Review 63:I liked the breakfast, but just something additional: it would be better if there would be different sandwiches (2-3 sorts of sandwiches would be perfect)

Review 64:very qualified, location, free wi-fi, breakfast, and everything typically Swedish:)

Review 65:This was the first staff free hotel I have stayed at. It took a bit of getting used to but was a fun experience. The room layout was great. The view from floor 11 was amazing.

Review 66:You just need to be aware that after 10pm, the front door of the hotel is closed and you need to have a code to enter. But it was not a big deal at all, they already put a note that you can just go to the next building (which is also a hotel) to ask help; they were also very friendly.

Review 67:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful; even though I had to leave very early, they prepared a breakfast bag for me. They were also very kind to put me in a room with river view. My room was very clean and working desk was exactly what I needed in order to work in the room after meetings. And a very good plus: they had iron&table in the room which I needed for my shirts. I had doubts when I heard the hotel was new but I can comfortably say that they did a wonderful job. And do not worry about "no reception", they are helping you about everything. I am strongly recommend this hotel and I am sure that you will enjoy as much as I did. If you have any questions before visiting the hotel, you can always send them an e-mail to which they respond very fast.

Review 68:In the heart of this vibrant northern city - a great location and excellent staff. Next time I visit I'll work out how the lights work in the room.

Review 69:Door is closed from 10 pm on. You will need a door code, so that if your arrival is later than 10 pm, contact by email and ask door code.

Review 70:Easy process for check in and check out. For check in you will need your reservation number without dots. Nice breakfast.

Review 71:No choice for breakfast. Bread is too hard, and no hot-alternatives are provided. Considering that many tourists may not like sandwich and yoghurt for breakfast, U&Me should really have more choices. And the way they serve the juice and yoghurt is totally not environmental friendly.

Review 72:Breakfast was very poor and limited. Get a sandwish, a juice, yougurst and coffee, No chance to choose what you want. Could purchase aditionals but it was expensive. Room very small for the price.

Review 73:The view, the facilities, the location.

Review 74:The hotel is high-tech with a new approach to hotel management (no reception but a couple of computers in a lobby (very competent help available) which also serves as an entrance to town library (not open yet) and a cafe, which means no traditional breakfast either but unbelievably good freshly baked bread and -pressed orange juice). The design is trendy and more suited for a culture centre (which it is meant to be) but makes one wonder about the practicality for a hotel. Hence some settling in time is needed to find working solutions between trendy and high-tech and general creature comforts expected at a hotel (the huge extra shower can turn out to be a not so pleasant surprise and the washbasin in the room instead of the bathroom is not to everyones taste, neither is the set menu for breakfast, however fresh). A stay can be recommended if you like contemporary and do not mind the unexpected, at the moment the fresh smell of wood makes up for the growing-up hick-ups totally.

Review 75:The only staff were the young ladies helping with the checkin- in and out machines - and the cleaning women and those working in the breakfast kiosk.Everything else was based on self-service - or they were outplaced to the instutional service providers paid by the tax payers. For example, the customer is expected to contact him/herself 112 in case of any emergency - with his/her own cellular phone as the room is not equipped with a telephone. There is no hotel directory in the hotel room but a help-your-self list. This describes the new concept well. For some reason, the few staff that were around the self-check-in machines didn't wear any badge or uniform. Thus, you got to go around and ask if any of the customer-looking people represented the staff. After all the self-sevice, the room price was the same or a little above that in the neighbouring hotels with customer service. The hotel room was beatifully designed - but not so functional. There were only a few hangers and a few coat hangers made of thin iron wire to hang your clothes on. There were no chest of drawers or wardrope for your clothes. I found a box-like stool for laundry storage. I could manage with these few hangers for 2 nights but I am sure that my wife wouldn't.- The water from the shower went easily all around of the bath room floor - thus you couldn't come out of the bath room with dry feet. The hotel room were beautifully designed but unfortunately it was NOT functional. The hotel has been opened in the beginning of September. Therefore, there were a lot of 'childhood diseases' as- there were no instructions in the check-out machine where you should put to key to. Without your key card to be been identified you couldn't complete the check-out process- when checking out you couldn't see the charges before you got the receipt. (What if there had been errors in the charges?

Review 76:The location of the hotel close to the park and river and still in the city centre is great. The hotel is and the room (M) were beautifully designed. The hotel has well-functioning free WIFI. All the few (3) staff members that I met during the 3 days were sliling and friendly.

Review 77:The hotel has just opened so the automatic check in AND check out was problematic. Having arrived late after a long day that was not relly what I needed a 15 minute check-in! Checkout wasn't much better. Both should have been automatic but didn't work and needed the staff to helf several times during the process. Whilst what was offered was no doubt very good quality, th breakfast concept was poor with basically no choice - one sandwich, a fresh juice, and a natural yoghurt with some bird seed and of course coffee. This initself would have been ok if it didn't cost extra for extra items or refill of the juice for example. Overall, I think the hotel will get better and I am sure in a few months when the rest of building works are complete and the hotel systems are sorted it will be fine - apart from the poor breakfast offering that is!

Review 78:The rooms are brand new, very fresh and modern with nice comfortable beds.

Review 79:The hotel was brand new and had only been opened for a couple of days and everything was not running smoothly yet. There is no breakfast buffet, but you will get a nice fixed one. I would also have liked to see some Stockholm newspapers at breakfast.

Review 80:If you like modern scandinavian design, you'll like this hotel. Nice view over the river from the bed.

Review 81:No service at all. Dissapointing and expensive.

Review 82:No personal. Water sink was in the room and not at toilet where it should be.

Review 83:Location top.

Review 84:Staff attitude. Inconvenient feel

Review 85:quite expensive

Review 86:nice vieuw over the river

Review 87:Everything OK

Review 88:The breakfast was simple yet very fresh and tasty, a higher quality than most.

Review 89:There is no reception. There is no one there. Where's the personal touch?

Review 90:no human contact with staff

Review 91:Good looking modern room woth good facilities

Review 92:Breakfeast is quite simple and the self service check in is not good for groups.

Review 98:Kind of missed a re epsilon and phones in the room...

Review 99:The location and the views!

Review 100:Clean, well equipped rooms. Super location and view from the rooms. Highly recommended

Review 101:I had nowhere to leave my luggage after check out time - they have boxes outside but they are too small for a suitcase.

Review 102:Location is great

Review 103:Poor breakfast and unsanitary solution to split the washbasin from the shower- and toilet room

Review 104:Good beds

Review 105:Excellent location, quiet room, modern interior, free wifi, comfy beds, excellent view (had a rom on 10th floor).

Review 106:Nothing.

Review 107:I like everything about the hotel, especially the location and cleanliness of the room.

Review 108:Great location, great views of the river and city. Very friendly staff.

Review 109:Average hotel in a wonderful context

Review 110:Just a little hick up with the light. Sorted quikly by friendly staff.

Review 111:The location of my room and location in Umeå.

Review 112:When checking out in the machine, I got the invoice with 0 in it. Wrote to the hotel for help, got no response. Still waiting....:-(

Review 113:The room was small but well planned...

Review 114:Work´s good and easy with check in and out... Breakfast perfekt with lokal suppliers of almost everything!

Review 115:Breakfast is awful No parking

Review 116:Good bed

Review 117:Being shut outside in the cold at 10:30 at night. Even if you have already booked in and have an electronic key with you.

Review 118:modern furnishings

Review 119:Best location in town. Great rooms. Great staff. The technology brilliant.

Review 120:Too little to eat for breakfast. You should not have to pay for extras, like eggs and so on.

Review 121:Bathroom shower area needs fixing. Not well planned. Wifi tends to drop

Review 122:The modern approach and self check in and very comfortable room.

Review 123:Frukosten

Review 124:nice hotel consept, totally different
