Reviews for Quality Inn and Suites-College Park

Review 1:front desk were polite

Review 2:I had experience with bed bugs which was complained to the front desk. another guest couple were complaining about the same incident. I was asked to call the manager whole I left a message with my phone number . no one has returned my call

Review 3:The rooms could use more up grades, microwave, mini refrig.,better blankets & pillows, room can use cleaning more, shower curtain doesn't stay close need a better shower rod & room needs wall painted. Try adding some hot food to your breakfast continental. Like a meat or waffle & sramble eggs.

Review 4:The walls are too thin, you can hear some of what's going on in other rooms. The bedstand lights didn't work

Review 5:Clean, the washing basin is separate from the bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Naomi!

Review 6:The hotel is very outdated and filthy. The carpet was torn, the elevator was dirty, I was scared to put my bags down at all.My girlfriend immediately wanted our money back upon arriving. Definitely not a hotel where you feelcomfortable walking alone or leaving bags in the room

Review 7:The lock on my door repeatedly failed. First time it took ages to get me in and then even longer while the janitor worked on it. Having been told it was fixed I was shocked to get a repeat problem the next day. Overall the staff handled this situation poorly, though I know they were trying. The hotel claims to provide a free shuttle, but we missed the start of our event because having been reassured "it'll be here in a few minutes" we were left waiting around 40 minutes. Bathroom fittings were wobbly.

Review 8:The hotel is a short walk from the metro station at College Park. Breakfast is OK. The room was clean and most of the staff were trying to be helpful. Overall comfort levels were what you would expect from a hotel costing less than $100 per day.

Review 9:Door on bathroom (Room 167) hung wrong! Should swing the other way - can't sit straight on the toilet and door also blocks the tub. Also toilet paper roll is set way too low and far away from the toilet. I am 6'2" and I couldn't conveniently reach it. Room smelled like smoke. Room had no TV remote and I waited an hour and it did not arrive. I phoned the front desk again (young lady was very nice), but the facilities guy who finally brought it to me said nothing and scowled. I think he probably got chewed out for being tardy and was not happy with me. Not impressed by his attitude.

Review 10:Price, staff at the front counter, breakfast, bed, location near university, near Metro

Review 11:My only possible complaint is the shuttle staff were not very friendly

Review 12:The hotel was very clean!! The staff was very pleasant!!! Location was perfect!!! Great experience!

Review 13:There was a mixup about the size of our room but they got it straightened out.

Review 14:It was close to the National Archives 2 which runs a shuttle to Archives 1 for free

Review 15:Please correct information on booking.com, that the distance between hotel and metro is not 11 minute walk, but takes 20 plus minute walk to get there, but nice neighborhood to walk though.

Review 16:Breakfast

Review 17:I did not like how small the room was compared to the pictures that was placed on booking.com in the tower is where our room was at there was no microwave or fridge therefore we could not heat anything up or bring food back to store. However when we tried to switch rooms first the young lady said it would be 10 more then when we said why then she said we can't upgrade because we did it online which one was it. Because when my husband was about to pay she was already getting a key for the new room until I said no. We stayed in the original room for $125.00 a night I bigger room with two full size bed and a microwave and refrigerator is not a lot to ask for. Also the breakfast was good for my husband, however for people like me who does not eat pork they should have more of a variety to accommodate everyone I had to go across the parking lot to the diner and pay for something for me to eat. Those was the things I didn't like but again it was comfortable and clean.

Review 18:I like the area it was in and the little restaurants and bars they had around plus it was not too far from downtown DC. It served its purpose as we was there for the MMM and it was clean and comfortable.

Review 19:The metro to the city centre was expensive and unreliable, and the hotel shuttle didn´t go there.

Review 20:The staff was nice, the room big and clean and the breakfast was great!

Review 21:Room was too dark. The electrical cord that lighted lamps behind bed would come off and on if we moved on the bed. Any subtle movement. It was a bit scary. My husband pushed the bed away from the wall as much as he could. The hotel needs many repairs. It's time. Looks bad

Review 22:Location

Review 23:The ladies that clean my room can't speak or understand English...which was frustrating trying to explain simple stuff to them..

Review 24:Location is awesome. Quiet and comfy place.

Review 25:There was no television reception, there was no solution offered or offers made to make up for it. Pool hours were extremely limited closed early and not available prior to a 10am check out.

Review 26:Location worked for us.

Review 27:Nice breakfast, clean room with good view of Baltimore avenue, and comfortable bed. The rest of place might be modernized a little bit, but it is not what's important to me in a hotel.

Review 28:'Motel' feeling, with separate and somewhat rundown building housing the rooms (which were basic but OK).

Review 29:convenient location for UMUC campus, with on-site parking and nearby restaurants/shops. Included breakfast was OK.

Review 30:Swimming pool opening time is 12:00 pm needs more care.

Review 31:Location is perfect and quite ,very near to metro and bus stop and restaurants The staff is so nice especially Naomi(behind the front desk) The cleaning is so perfect The breakfast is exellent

Review 32:I would not have booked had I realised what an environmentally-unfriendly place this is. Breakfast is served entirely on Styrofoam with plastic cutlery. Towels washed every day (despite sign saying they would only be washed if left on floor). If the time and energy put into washing towels were spent on dishes, then (a) breakfast would be more pleasant and (b) the planet would say thank you.

Review 33:I appreciated the ease with which the booking was made, and the flexibility when I needed to change dates, even at the last minute (because of a flight delay)

Review 34:The room was not what we reserved, small, dirty and the double bed was extremely uncomfortable. We had reserved was supposed to be a king. No refrigerator. Staff did not seem to try and fix the situation, blamed the room on booking.com.

Review 35:Nothing.

Review 36:While the room seemed clean, it was a little shop warn with holes in the walls and shabby, dated plumbing.

Review 37:Very close to University of Maryland, breakfast was included.

Review 38:The beds was very uncomfortable. Over priced for such a small room.

Review 39:The location and the swimming pool. The staff was very professional and nice. Checking in and out was great. I like the free breakfast.

Review 40:The personal is very friendly and helpful. The location is good to get the University campus and metro station to D.C. (College Park station is in ~10 minutes to go). Breakfast is OK. Very good choice for this money. Many cafes and restos around.

Review 41:The room is old. There is no refrigerator . Safety box is broken. There is a smell of pee on the carpet and toilet. There is stain on the carpet.

Review 42:The location, breakfast and staff

Review 43:Walls were too thin, I could hear when the neighbors watch TV loudly. Rust in the bathtub.

Review 44:Basically had a nice stay here. Easy to access the city by train, friendly prices and breakfast was also good (however I would add more healthy options such as paprika and tomato. Bed was also comfortable.

Review 45:We had requested a microwave and refrigerator, but our initial room did not have either. We were however changed to a room immediately that had both. There was no internet at all, we tried everyday and we went to the office and they tried too but couldn't get on. We also tried on two different devices.

Review 46:The bathroom ceiling could have used some maintenance. Paint was starting to peel.

Review 47:The pool was very nice, and it felt good to know a lifeguard was present. The breakfast was good, too. When our initial room did not appear to have been completely cleaned, immediately another room was assigned with no problem or delay. The Metro station was a close drive, and several restaurants were within walking distance.

Review 48:We arrived around 7pm in the evening having made my reservation with bookings.com or the likes. I gave instructions that I was traveling with young children and wanted rooms with a common door between so that my children could be attended to without adults or children going outside into hallways and thus facing danger of kidnapping etc. I also wanted a non smoking room. I expected someone to call me and tell me if these requests could not be met. We were told that we would be next to each other but without a common door. When I started to fuss they called a manager we were told to take the suite which had a common door, we did. But at a different price. ( had this offer not been made available to us at 7pm at night where would we have found a place to sleep 6 people so late and unfamiliar with the area) The first thing to hit me was the smell certainly a smokers domain. I think the burn mark on the single chair was also a give away I had to air the room out for awhile as I was starting to brew a head ache and when I lay down the smoke smell on the night stand was sickening. I found the staff to be argumentative and unsympathetic. They informed me that I had made the bookings through a third party and he refused to listen when I offered advice that they should review their alliance with that company if they turn bookings into unsatisfied guests or that someone peruse the bookings as my request was clearly read back to me so they knew what I wanted before I got there for 3 days prior. With regards to breakfast they should hav more tables outside in the warmer weather especially tables that can accommodate larger families. we had to wait for 6 couples to leave before we could all sit down and other families had that same problem thought they were not so lucky as we to get 6 to a table. Aside from it being a smokers room it was clean.

Review 49:Breakfast was held at reasonable hours. You did not have to get up with the sparrows in order to get a decent meal and they certainly did not begrudge you your meal. There was more than enough to eat and enjoy

Review 50:The facilities were very old and the room was small. The room was not very comfortable. There was not comfortable chair in the room, only a desk chair.

Review 51:The location and price were perfect for our needs.

Review 52:Old, run down, worn carpet. Free breakfast is, of course poor. My room door can not close properly, have to double check whether it is properly locked or not.

Review 53:Looking for under 100$ near d.c. I choose this hotel because of free parking and its proximity to the metro. The surrounding is nice with a lot of eatery and store. 10 min walk to metro and train station is a straight road but not a fun walk if you have a luggage. The room is quite dated and look tired however cleanliness is acceptable. Bed is comfy and noise from the street is not bad at all.

Review 54:The bed was small and uncomfortable. The bathroom didn't have good water pressure and the elevator felt like it was going to break down at any moment.

Review 55:Honestly there was nothing I really liked about this place. It was very uncomfortable. Staff wasn't to friendly either!

Review 56:The mattress could be better

Review 57:Nice hotel, clean rooms and good breakfast. It is located a bit far from the monuments but close To the subway station, like a 10min walk

Review 58:Breakfast is nice but pretty crowded. Depending on when you go no room to sit down. But you can take it back to your room to eat. Rooms are somewhat worn and there are cracks and signs of wear however acceptable in this price range.

Review 59:Safety features like inroom safe, double door locks. Best hotel location in College Park. Walk to everything, don't need a car. Free Wifi and above average breakfast.

Review 60:Breakfast, Shuttle driver in the mornings (Indian guy), some Front desk staff.

Review 61:The deal and the bed were our only solace. Wifi is excellent. Jessica / Melvin and few other staff are very good. Johnson the Manager is very helpful

Review 62:What we encounter at our third day of our stay was so horrible that wehad to run out the room with all of our belongings across the street towash everything BEDBUGS.our kids got bitten all over, nasty critters.Wespoke to the staff and they help us with everything else, nice staff.

Review 63:Well everything was Nice, friendly staff, lovely place, close toshops, restaurants. We could walk with our young children to differentparts of the town,it was well safe to walk at day and night.

Review 64:No refrigerator. Bad sound proof. Smell of old wooden room

Review 65:Room is old and smells a bit funny, but tolerable. 3min walk to CVS. House lady really does her job well.

Review 66:When we entered our room the carpet and two chairs were wet having just been shampooed. There was also a huge cockroach on the walkway outside our door - it met its maker shortly thereafter.

Review 67:The bed and linens were as advertised - very nice

Review 68:You advertised that there was a free shuttle to and from the college and the schedule was severely limited. Also we waited for 45 minutes for someone to come and pick us up at the college and finally ended up taking a bus as no one showed. We must have called at least 4 times and each time, we were told that someone was on their way. There was something "tacky" about the whole establishment

Review 69:We liked that it was so close to UMD and to retail. Also liked the lobby and the breakfast

Review 70:For the fact that I had to ask for another room when the hot water heater broke. If I had not inquired about why there was no hot water on my 3rd night of my 5 nights trip I would have not have switched rooms. Hotel should have moved guests if they knew plumber was not going to be able to fix boiler until 2 days later. Noisy high school seniors on college trip, making endless noise at night.

Review 71:Free breakfast and free shuttle

Review 72:The room smelled like a hospital ward. The carpet was grubby and I didn't want to walk on it barefoot. Thin walls, I could hear everything in adjoining rooms. No privacy because people could walk right past the window.

Review 73:Free wifi. Nothing else.

Review 74:Not clean. Poor management. We got two rooms in different buildings. Changed and then one of them was not cleaned... Changed again and got a smoking room!!!

Review 75:Close to the Metro and lots of restaurants.

Review 76:Not a great smelling place. It smelled very unclean in hallways, elevator, and room. Elevator and halls dirty and stained, chipping paint.

Review 77:Breakfast was great although seating could be better.

Review 78:Room in poor condition. Toilet was cracked and leaking. Tub chipped. Breakfast far inadequate for the number of guests.

Review 79:Mattress was comfortable. Location convenient and safe

Review 80:when I first entered the room the air coming out of the heating/A/C unit was cold. I raised the thermostat and it got warm, but then there didn't seem to be any way to actually regulate how warm it was.

Review 81:good location, convenient to UMd campus, inexpensive

Review 82:The hallways and rooms were freezing cold. Had to request another room because the heat was only luke warm and didn't take the chill off the room after running the heat at 80 for an hour. The second room didn't want much better. At 5 a.m. the room was only 67 degrees and the bathroom was cooler

Review 83:Early breakfast

Review 84:The hotel smelled old. The bed was not good. Furniture was old.

Review 85:The quality inns are consistently fair. They try but always fall short. The lobby of the hotel was good. I am not a big breakfast eater so what they had was adequate. Location for my purpose was great.

Review 86:The room smelled like someone smoked weed and the sheets had hair and a couple of lipstick stains, looked like they weren't changed after the last guest.

Review 87:The convenience to restaurants and stores. The front desk was pleasant and friendly, very accommodating.

Review 88:website made hotel look more up to date than it truly was. The room was very outdated! I could have stayed at other more modern hotels for the same price in the same area.

Review 89:Location and breakfast

Review 90:We waited to check in.The bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned in a month, the room did not have a refrigerator or a microwave. I called the front desk to complain and he told me to contact bookings.com. My girlfriend tripped on the unmarked raised entrance and sprained her ankle. When I checked out, neither one of the front desk staff asked if I had any issues or if I enjoyed my stay.the didn't even give me a receipt. I wouldn't recommend that dump to my worst enemy.

Review 91:nothing

Review 92:Nothing really. If i have to, i guess i would say looks. Boring and cheap, but everything worked great.

Review 93:I liked the proximity to transportation. It took me half am hour to get to the convention center and that was if i walked to the metro stop in college park. Breakfast was great. The room was what i needed. It was within a 5 minute walk for anything, including Starbucks and Chipotle. It wasn't the fanciest hotel to look at, but everything was super functional and convenient.

Review 94:It seems they recently updated cosmetically. Room still smelled and hadwater damage. Could smell cigarette smoke in my non smoking room andthe hallways.Beds were not Comfortable at all pillows were thin and lumpy. Cosmetic changes didn't hide the underlying ickyness of this hotel.

Review 95:Free breakfast

Review 96:Don't bother with breakfast.

Review 97:Clean, hot shower, comfortable, good sleep, no issues. Stayed 1 night. Just a regular hotel. Some occasional noise from the street, but rooms were well insulated, so not much trouble in general. Friendly stuff.

Review 98:Our first night stay, the air quality was bad. On the return from an engagement the room smelled like a sewer. The tub drainage was poor, the door in on the bathroom was in poor shape, the toilet was too close to the tub. The hotel should be downgraded to 1 or 2 stars.

Review 99:The pool was not open and it was disgusting dirty. The bed we got were too small for both of us.

Review 100:The Breakfast was great; It kept us full for the whole day. Great walking distance to the metrorail (10 minutes walk) to go to Washington DC. Will recommend Quality Inn if you are planning to just go to Washington DC!!!

Review 101:Everything, the keys did not work at first room, the second room smelled really bad and the ac didn't work, the picture you see in the ad is misleading,it seemed more like a place for the local bad element to stay and play.

Review 102:Nothing

Review 103:very outdated, had to drive to the main lobby, no refrigerator, bathrooms toilet was something from an old school. The breakfast was only til 9:30. I could have stayed at a luxurious hotel for 20 dollars more. I would not recommend staying here nor will I ever go to another Quality Inn. I travel quite frequently they have lost a costumer

Review 104:location

Review 105:Could use some upgrades. ..furnishings, mattresses, painting. ..insulation is a must.

Review 106:Good location to everything. Not a bad place to stay for overnight and passing through.

Review 107:The room seemed outdated. No mini fridge. The mattress was not comfortable and the pillows were small.

Review 108:The area was nice. A couple of blocks from University of Maryland main campus and the nightlife looked great. The free breakfast in the mornings were good.

Review 109:The fact that I was charged up front and missed a days stay. Luckily I knew people in the area and had a place to stay over night. Had I not know anyone in the area I would have been stuck in a city 5 hours from my home.

Review 110:My likes are well described in the earlier questions. I would definatly use the hotel again.

Review 111:My stay there was an awesome experience, the staff were so kind and very accommodating to my needs, even housekeeping were Very polite and attentive as well as all the staff, I had such a great stay there especially being so far away from home, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you to all the staff for making me feel at home..

Review 112:Totally devastating I was so furious with the room a twin bed and a full size bed."Really" couldn't even put me in another room! SMH....

Review 113:Nice area good breakfast.

Review 114:The price was increased after it was booked. I called the manager and he/she never returned my call. I won't stay their again and won't recommend it

Review 115:Great breakfast bar - really, very nice. Thanks!

Review 116:The bathroom was in need of serious update. Gave us the feeling of being uncomfortable. The tub needs refinishing. Was slippery to stand in when showering. Really dangerous - didn't use it the second day.

Review 117:Jacuzzi did not work

Review 118:Great location & comfort

Review 119:Room had a very bad odor

Review 120:Friendly staff

Review 121:This was probably the grossest hotel I have ever seen. We checked in and saw our disgusting room and left immediately. Very gross

Review 122:Guest directly above me made noise and talked loud from 2:30-3:15 am

Review 123:Accessibilty

Review 124:Bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Review 125:Clean, friendly staff, parking was nice.

Review 126:None

Review 127:Customer service was nice and politely.

Review 128:The room was smelling very bad , looks clean but the smell again was not nice

Review 129:very clean and quiet, staff was awesome, good breakfast. The only thing I ask is for bigger bed

Review 130:The location is very unsafe. People sleeping out on the stairwell.

Review 131:Nothing!!!

Review 132:Racist Indian staff.

Review 133:Ice maker only on two floors. Very limited shuttle service times!

Review 134:Shuttle service to the train station.

Review 135:very clean
