Reviews for Campus Inn & Suites Eugene Downtown
Review 1:Was said to have two queen size beds and they were only full size beds, so not a good nights sleep. Room smelled like smoke, and I thought it was a non smoking room. Carpets needed cleaning Stain on bed spread.
Review 2:Nice sized room.
Review 3:The beds were a little hard good be more comfy. But it wad a good stay.
Review 4:Convienent location close to shopping and restaurants. We will stay again. Oh and its a great value for the money.
Review 5:Great price and location, only problem was our heater didn't work well, so the room was a bit chilly. Close proximity to Elk Horn brewery, delicious burgers. All in all, good value.
Review 6:It's hard to find anything negative about my stay. Maybe the tub could be resurfaced because it was worn through the surface layer in places. But it certainly didn't bother me or have any negative effects.
Review 7:The staff and facilities were great. The quality to cost ratio was certainly above the competition. I was very pleasantly surprised, and would most definitely stay again.
Review 8:I found hair all over the bathroom in the tub and sink. The room smelt weird and even though check out is at 11am,the guy who cleans just walked in without knocking at 10:15 am while we were all still getting dressed. Talk about awkward.
Review 9:I liked that it had a good heater in the room along with wifi.
Review 10:Didn't like the fact that here a mature couple been married for 22years and the fact we live in town, we had to pay a 250.00 deposit andout of towners don't, that's like saying you don't trust thepeople in the town you live in, but have more faith in people thatdon't, I personally work for the hotel business and we treateveryone the same.
Review 11:Rooms were clean and bed was so comfortable.
Review 12:I had stayed here the weekend prior to this stay and was very happy with my stay. Decided to book a room there again, but this time not a good experience. Was abruptly woken up at 2:30am by an all night party going on in the room next to me. Spoke with the person in charge who did speak with them, but still took another 45 minutes to get it taken care of. I was then woken up again by same group at 5:30am...... Called a couple of days later and spoke with the manager, only offered a partial refund.... Really? Not the way to handle the situation in my opinion. I will be looking for another place to stay as I come over every weekend for my sons hockey games
Review 13:The facilities were a little tired. Could have used some updating. Coffee in the morning was pretty bad.
Review 14:Good location, close to campus and very large room.
Review 15:The Room had a very bad and strong odor.I used a lot of my Perfume on Bed and Chair and on the Curtains, still not much better. i had ordered a Pizza to my Room but could not eat more then a slice cause of the smell.
Review 16:The Staff was friendly and helpfull.
Review 17:Filthy room from foul stench, soiled comforter that's never been washed to dark and long hair all over bathroom sink and floor, stained carpet and walls...AAA needs to re-evaluate supporting this property. I could not have imagined a more disgusting room in a horror movie.
Review 18:Location, friendly desk clerk at check-in
Review 19:Hotel staff is not knowledgeable of travel staff outside of the hotel and hotel itself does not provide any attractions brochures and/or flyers. So don't come to Eugene unprepared and expect even limited concierge service.
Review 20:It was clean hotel, very conveniently located in close proximity to the downtown and eateries. Hotel provides maps with close by restaurants and entertainment venues
Review 21:The room was stinking. The bathroom was in a very bad condition and dirty. The bathtub was so dirty , so that we couldn't step into it. One of the bed was broken. Originally we reserved for two days, but we had to check out next day at nine and went to Holiday Inn Express. Miserable place to stay!
Review 22:They did not clean the room unless asked, then they just changed the sheets and put new towels. In 4 days they never vacuumed or cleaned the bathroom. We had to go to the office and get toilet paper and coffee.
Review 23:Walking distance to downtown.
Review 24:The room was dirty, cobwebs, old candy stuck to carpet, bedspread was dirty...gave us an overall gross feeling
Review 25:nothing, left early asked for refund they only gave us 1/2 credit for the second night we didnt stay for.
Review 26:Wireless internet was very fickle. It would switch on and off. Very dangerous for an international mobile phone with data roaming charges
Review 27:Perfectly located. Close to city center and highway,
Review 28:Great location slightly back from the traffic noise, very friendly helpful staff, very clean and comfortable. I'll stay here on any future trip to Oregon. Nice outdoor patio with gorgeous hanging flower-baskets, extremely clean indoors and out.
Review 29:When we walked into the room, it did smell like stinky pets pit. Air condition is way too noisy . A coffee maker is not clean so I didn't feel to blew coffee at all. lots of dust on a bed cover.
Review 30:They no longer accept dogs. A few people spoiled it for the rest of us.
Review 31:It was close to everythinget I was going to go to that weekend. It's a motel, nothinges fancy but the bathrooms were bigger
Review 32:This place is very close to downtown Eugene, just 4 blocks from the center of town, very convenient for walking all around exploring shops and sampling the local fare. Plenty of free parking. There is a nice patio area on the second level, an outdoor hot tub, cable TV and free WiFi. Air-conditioned room features a mini-fridge, microwave and tea and coffee-making facilities. The room was spacious and well-appointed, and everything was comfortable and clean. Shelly at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and very pleasant. She helped us find a good place to eat and was fantastically patient and solution-oriented when the printer in the lobby wouldn't work. She's great!
Review 33:Continental breakfast offered no fresh fruit.
Review 34:Very nice older motel which has been updated. If you have university of Oregon business this is an excellent location. I'd stay again.
Review 35:What I don't like (and it's not just this hotel) is when the sheet isn't tucked in at the foot (where your feet want something smooth) but is tucked in at the head, where you don't need it because you are sleeping on a pillow anyway. I end up re-making the bed which is annoying.
Review 36:I had a suite which was very spacious and comfortable. It was great having the fridge and microwave - and the air con, since it was hot.
Review 37:I can't think of much in the way of criticism. It'd be perfect if there was a pool! The breakfast was a little "meh" but it's free so no complaints... mostly bready stuff.
Review 38:This place is close to everything and a tremendous value. It was clean and the staff were friendly and knowledgable. Thanks!
Review 39:It was a hot day and the AC was off and it took an hour after turning on for the room to cool down. Very simple breakfast.
Review 40:Location and price the staff were super nice. Large rooms
Review 41:I like a firmer mattress but still was able to rest well. Carpet stains need to be worked on in Room 110.
Review 42:Hot tub was nice- clean. The staff was very accommodating. Close to yoga!
Review 43:The WiFi was occasionally intermittent.
Review 44:I slept very well. The desk person was exceptionally helpful and very pleasant. You allowed me to leave my car for the two days of the track meet with only one night of occupancy.m
Review 45:The old, stake odor in the rooms. The shower didn't work either and I had to take a bath as the faucet would not change to the shower mode in room 230.
Review 46:The manager was efficient and let me look at two other rooms and even gave me an air freshener to spray.
Review 47:This was a terribly noisy place most of the night. My room was quite close to the street but, in fairness to the motel, people pulled in late at night & unloaded an entire pick up load of stuff. Not much can be done about that.
Review 48:The location of this motel is very convenient. I was new to this city so I was pleased that I simply needed to drive a few blocks to be in their lovely downtown area. Also the front desk receptionist was very helpful.
Review 49:Booking.com had confirmed a suite but the motel had no record of it and was otherwise fully booked due to a local event. Nonetheless, they gave me a room they held back (in reserve) specially for such occurrences, at a discounted rate.
Review 50:I showed up and my reservations were cancelled. I had to get a new debit card before my trip. I called to confirm the day before my trip to let them know I was checking in later then expected. I didn't think to give them the new debit number because I was scheduled to pay on my arrival. They ran the athorization after my call and it didn't go through cuz of my debit card change. No one called. I showed up to a cancelled room with two children. The hotel set us up in a one queen bed room with two roll a ways for four people and charged the same price for the suite I reserved. They said we only had to pay for half cost of the room but with the roll away bed fee it was only $6 less. My friends who were stayin at the same hotel made adjustments for us. The hotel didnt. It ended up costing us more with a lot of stress involved.
Review 51:It really think it's time to update this place !! The bed sheets are from the 70's and the carpets need replacing or at least a really good cleaning !! I'm surprised the AAA does not make these recamondations . Because it's time .
Review 52:The staff the location and the familurity . I'v stayed there over the years and Eugene is my stoping point when headed down to Cali .
Review 53:The shower was broken, and they only gave us a $10 discount for not being able to shower!! The breakfast was horrible. Just some bagels and waffles with coffee. No fruit, no protein.
Review 54:The location was great for going out at night.
Review 55:Rooms advertised as Non Smoking - This is not the case-Rooms have terrible odor of smoke and urine. I didn't like the fact that they slap on a $100 deposit fee at check in time to begin with - since I had prepaid the room. Then at the time of check out the gal at th front desk advised me that it would 2-3 days before it would be credited back to my card.
Review 56:The front desk clerk was friendly. When I asked to switch rooms, she did obliged.
Review 57:The room was not clean. There was hair in the bed and all around the room. There were small bugs in the bed.
Review 58:Great location, near the University and downtown.
Review 59:Moldy smell. Bathrooms need a major upgrade. Awesome female desk clerk. Male desk clerk in the morning was NOT friendly.
Review 60:Spacious room. Proximity to school and downtown.
Review 61:Altho it is a no smoking property, my room was smoky. The oxidizer or whatever its called was still in the room. They gave me another room, which had bugs. Hotel was full and couldn't move anywhere else.
Review 62:Location was good and staff was friendly
Review 63:The size of the room was small. Also, the room I got was not the room that was shown on the website. When I asked for the room I booked, the manager had the nerve to charge me another $10!
Review 64:It was just OK.
Review 65:The bathrooms, showers and sink areas need an update. They still have a 1990's look and feel. Water pressure changes from hot to cold with toilet flush (while in shower) there was a bit of an issue with water temp (randomly scalding).
Review 66:My boyfriend and I feel like this is a home away from home and always look forward to re visiting the campus inn and suites. Staff is very friendly, enthusiastic and cheerful. Always welcoming with excitement and are happy to share amenities.
Review 67:The jacuzzi was nice and everything was clean however they downgraded us to a room without a microwave without telling us because only some of the rooms are pet friendly not all and the beds were a little more springy than comfortable... Staff was nice and helpful though.
Review 68:Theres a huge HPS light kept on abive the hot tub at all times and there's nothing romantic or relaxing about that.
Review 69:Within walking distance of many downtown area attractions and such a great staff!
Review 70:The breakfast was meager--no cereal.
Review 71:This is a great hotel at a very reasonable price. I traveled with my dog and the pet fee was only $10. Staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and well-appointed, and everything was comfortable and clean.
Review 72:no coffee pouch in my room, Housekeeping needs to do a double check after serviceing of room, the train horn was really bad that night. In the am the Hot water didnt work very well and was told it was there circulation Pump had gone bad. Its fixed now.
Review 73:the Bed and the cortesy of the staff, Had nice laundry facility as well. Very clean
Review 74:The rooms had a strong odor but seemed clean. However, when we wanted to take showers in the morning we discovered that there was no hot water. They did give us a rebate for the rooms but it was not a good situation. They said there was somewhere two blocks away where we could shower but seriously??
Review 75:The first two rooms we were given, smelled musty and simply bad. I believe partly it was the old carpet, but I don't know. I expected more since the property had 3 stars on booking.com. In the end we were given one of their bigger rooms upstairs, which was definitely better, but still had an unpleasant smell. This should have had 2 stars!
Review 76:the staff was friendly and did their very best.
Review 77:I think we caught them on a bad night. The first room hadn't been cleaned The second room had an Ionizer going in it and smelled horrible The third room was ok tell morning when we went to shower and rocks and dirt came up through the drain
Review 78:The people there were very friendly
Review 79:Had to relocate us could not handle the musty smell, very strong in the first two rooms , third was ok. Lots of tweekers there, not fun to watch. Especially with children.
Review 80:Nothing
Review 81:We regularly drive between Northern California and Seattle. Campus Inn in Eugene is the perfect place to stay on both the drive up and back. Comfy place to stay, excellent staff, well managed, very good value.
Review 82:The bed had box springs (I think) and was so soft we rolled into each other all night. Woke with back pain and considered leaving at 3:30 am
Review 83:Good location, very helpful and friendly staff, clean furnished room.
Review 84:Plain, unattractive, unappealing room; fan in bathroom broken. I mentioned to woman the next day and she seemed very responsive to getting it fixed as soon as possible.
Review 85:Cleaning staff very nice and friendly; man who checked me in very aloof; I asked for local map and he said they did not have any; the next day I saw the maps on the counter by window. The woman at the counter next day was very nice. Bed pretty comfortable. Plenty of supplies in room. Great walking location to town.
Review 86:One has to keep in mind that this is a budget hotel so my expectations weren't that high. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were really hard and I woke up with a headache every morning. Still, I would stay again - just bring my own pillow :)
Review 87:The price was excellent, and the location was good and the front desk staff were helpful and cheerful. The bed's were comfortable and the rooms were roomy.
Review 88:The lobby was so small, when it came to eating breakfast we ended up taking our food back to our room. Not something we like to do.
Review 89:A comfortable , well located Inn. We were given easy to follow directions to the Inn from I-5 North.
Review 90:Our room was dirty when we arrived. There were huge wet spots all over the floor. There was also hair in the bathroom. Toilet paper was used already..
Review 91:The breakfast in the am was good. Easy to spot hotel with tree lights
Review 92:Shower temperature was very difficult to regulate. Scalding hot at times. Manager was informed. Knew what the problem likely was, assured he would have it fixed promptly.
Review 93:Our front door (room 232) was warped at bottom (caused by other guests) but needed to be repaired because flies were coming in from the open area...needed to put the comforter at door bottom to sleep.
Review 94:We liked the location and proximity to downtown.
Review 95:Booking experience thought I'd already been charged, found out I was not and was re charges at counter- now I'm over draft
Review 96:Cleaning staff was pushy
Review 97:The clerk first placed me in an end unit on the bottom. It was right next to the road and I doubted I would sleep well with the noise. I requested another room on the upper level. He gave me a room on the second level near the hot tub. I suspected I might also hear late night partying at the hot tub but, walked in the room. It was obviously used recently. There was a fresh, half eaten burrito in the garbage pail. Some linens were in the sink while the bathroom light was already on in the daylight. There was an odd odor in the room. I did not stay there, nor would I ever go back.
Review 98:I was told a micro-wave was in the room. not in room in office. Refrigerator was too small to use. The air cooler was too noisy keep my older kids awake all night going off and on. Was told not to keep any valuables in room but the way they said it seemed like they meant don't keep anything in room. So had to load everything into car each day. Door to our room was broken into and not fixed very well from previous. Employee's smoked on duty right by doors. We don't smoke but was told there was a 250 dollar charge if we did. Poor example when they can smoke right next to your room.
Review 99:even though bed was small, was comfortable.
Review 100:My room was very outdated and needed a remodel. The carpet was quite stained and needed to be replaced. The bath was gross. With the location comes quite a bit of road noise with made it hard for me to get a good nights rest. If you need a room for a night or two I think it is a good selection. If you are staying for multiple nights (like me) I would think twice.
Review 101:Great location and within walking distance of U of O campus and downtown. The bed was very comfortable.
Review 102:If you desire a solid nights sleep, then this location lacks the solitude as trains blast their way across the city with horns blaring at 3:55 am and 4:22 am. ( This is beyond their control) Some of the carpets are heavily stained and need a good cleaning.
Review 103:This location is good for getting in and out of. There are quite a few things to do in the area which makes the location of Campus Inn perfect. The rooms are comfortable and give plenty room to spread out and get comfortable. The reception team is fantastic and very eager to please. This makes check in or asking any questions very easy.
Review 104:room had not been vacumned and chair look like it was never moved to be vacumned behind. When you see dirty carpet, you ask if the bed is clean!
Review 105:location
Review 106:TUB SAFETY MAT MOLDY AND DIRTY A/C UNIT LOUD--MADE IT DIFFICULT TO GET ANY SLEEP ODOR IN ROOM--LESS THAN FRESH
Review 107:LOCATION STAFF PLEASANT AND, ASSISTED WHEN ASKED
Review 108:They were paving the drive way made it difficult to park but the staff was still very helpful so this is not much of a complaint
Review 109:Great staff!!! Great location close to everything Very clean and reasonably priced rooms
Review 110:I didn't have good experience with customer services on counter when I arrived. It wasn't very knowledgable how to process booking.com transaction. It took me about 20 minutes. I've traveled internationally and booking.com were very effective except here. Again I'll give benefit of doubt if they're new to it. Practice make perfect. Also the bathroom is old. I didn't care for it. Just wanted a good bed & walking distance 0.3 mile to several foods
Review 111:Good bed, good walking distance to restaurants
Review 112:Bed was not comfortable, on the second day had to get out of the bed and sleep in the chair. Had awful pain in my back. Never had that issue before at any hotel.
Review 113:Good Location, Staff Friendly, decent breakfast. Fair pricing
Review 114:No microwave as stated Room smelled dank and mildewy Carpet stained Ceiling Stained Very wrinkled shower curtain One bedspread smelled of a prior tenant Squeaky headboard Too few electric outlets Paint peeling off bathtub
Review 115:Good wifi Walking distance to campus and restos Two beds Free parking
Review 116:Asked for clean sheets but didn't receive it.The sheets should be tight and smell clean. The coffee was not restocked & the whole coffee area was not cleaned, sink was not cleaned either. The room had a funny smell, did not smell clean. The beds are not comfortable
Review 117:- Rude front desk staff at breakfast. We came down 10 min before breakfast closed and many this where out. Then he almost shouted "I'm NOT restocking anything now...." :-(
Review 118:- We got our room early - Location - Large rooms
Review 119:The 'free' breakfast is pretty much a sham. Very limited choice. Coffee that harks back to the '50s. Give it a pass.
Review 120:Location & price. Comfortable bed, Nice shower. Effective A/C. Overall I rate it a 3.5/5.
Review 121:The bathroom was pretty tiny, and I found a big, scary spider on our second day. Thankfully my husband took care of that :). We skipped the free breakfast and chose to eat out after reading reviews that the breakfast provided was underwhelming. Off the Waffle and Studio One Cafe are great places to check out and are close by.
Review 122:This is an affordable hotel, and good if you come with the right expectations. I read reviews before booking, so I knew about what we were getting. At $65 a night for a king bedroom, I knew this wasn't going to be the Ritz. Even tho we were close to train tracks and there was a concert playing close by, noise was not an issue. I am a light sleeper so this was important to me. We enjoyed our stay.
Review 123:Stairs were too narrow and stairs unsafe while climbing. Having to carry luggage was very cumbersome. The safety strips need replacing.
Review 124:Very helpful in giving directions and trying to get pool access. However....using the blower in morning was an uncomfortable sound.
Review 125:No thermostat on the air conditioning/heating unit, it's either on or off and it is loud when trying to sleep.
Review 126:Good location between campus and downtown, easy walk for dining and access to campus.
Review 127:breakfast did not include any protein..should have hard boiled eggs and fruit please!!!
Review 128:the upper deck umbrellas and tables to meet and picnic. Starbucks within walking distance. Our rooms was large...others not so large.
Review 129:The room smelled awful! The bathroom also had a string smell of urine. I checked out without even staying in the room as I couldn't handle the smell.
Review 130:Location and price
Review 131:Rooms very small. No water for purchase in vending machines. Rooms clean but very dated.
Review 132:Location, price.
Review 133:Breakfast was extremely limited. Room smelled slightly of smoke.
Review 134:Room was large and inexpensive. Beds were comfortable.
Review 135:Been coming for years. Easy location. Nothing fancy but suits our needs.
