Reviews for Red Roof Inn Washington DC - College Park

Review 1:we were kept awake all night by prostitutes and men looking for them ... I was traveling on business but with my teenage grandson ... first it wasn't the Days Inn but Red Roof Inn they had changed hands .... I left after one night .. the staff did not refund my money for the night and manager seemed disinterested by my problem

Review 2:location

Review 3:The front desk person was very rude, she only keep telling me call the manager on business hours because I can't help you.!..she was mean and arrogant. We purchased for online 4 rooms with no smoke. One room smell really bad to cigarette.

Review 4:Nothing like it.

Review 5:The motel is tired and old. The carpeting feels strange on your bare feet. Booked there for its proximity to University of Maryland. But I will be making other arrangements next time .

Review 6:I think they could of had a little more for breakfast and that the pool could have been open a little later.

Review 7:After reading the reviews I was not sure about this place, but the price was right so I booked it. Upon arriving we were greeted by a very courteous and friendly staff. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was close to the metro station and many restaurants. I would stay here again anytime.

Review 8:The rooms were old and smelled musty. The pool hours were awful--1 to 8 pm--and the pool sometimes wasn't open when it was supposed to be.

Review 9:The price was good, and we were travelling on a budget

Review 10:breakfast was a joke, toast and juice. diner right across the street. also turning left from the parking lot was nearly impossible due to traffic.

Review 11:easy to find and not far from the metro

Review 12:Hotel was not reachable by metro and nearest metro station calledcollege park was reached by bus .Everyday I used to take 86 bus from busstop located 100meters away from hotel which takes approximately 15minutes to metro station. There is bus stop close to metro station fromwhere you can get buses to different areas in Maryland. You will getbuses every 20 to 30 minutes but services may not frequent duringweekends.Buses morning start as early as 5.30 and last bust for hotelfrom metro station was 10pm.I Reached hotel by super shuttle from iadairport and paid 39 dollars and also went back to airport by using samesupershuttle.Taxi will take 80 dollar for one way trip which is quiteexpensive.

Review 13:Hotel charges were reasonable and room was quite big.Althought I wasalone but bed can accommodate 2adults and one child. Bathroom was ingood condition without any smell and water leakage.on last day I hadproblem with toilet flushing.everday they were cleaning room as well asproviding new towels.I Didn't notice any cockroaches and otherunwanted guests in room as mentioned by previous reviewers.I Had goodsleep for all nights as hotel was slightly away from main road and freefrom traffic sound.Coffee, orange and apple juices were freely availablein main reception desk for 24hrs.one light smell was persistent in roomwhich I can easily make out specially at entering room .But afterspending some time in room ,I felt everything is ok.

Review 14:We were in a non-smoking room, but cigarette some was coming in through the air vents as someone was smoking on the floor below. It was unpleasant.

Review 15:Decent price and facilities. Relatively close to DC Metro.

Review 16:You have a bug problem. I also don't like having to watch the rates go from $50 a night to now $100 a night. What a rip off for the same rooms. Why do I have too spend so much money to get 1 free night through your services Wyndam rewards where is the reward for all of the thousands spent? You need to work on actually giving someone rewards like a free room more often. Like that will happen

Review 17:The staff is friendly

Review 18:I was taking shower the water cut off soap all over my body no body told me about it.no microwave. No bedroom frezer.I pay for none smocking room they gave me smocking room the room smiles so bad .even if they give me free days or a months I don't want it. The card. Key it ll take for ever before it's work.in fact my two card keys none of them work. They have to come and give me another card.

Review 19:Notting

Review 20:Bathroom had a whole in the wall, toilet overflowed, walls so thin we could hear the conversation in mext room! Room door didnt completely close! The free "breakfast" consisted of toast and cereal! The outside of our room had a dirt hill to get to our room! Horrible experience!

Review 21:Got there before the check in time and we both came from a long drive from fl so we have to used the restroom so bad, so we ask the front desk lady if there is anyway we can use the restroom since our room is not yet ready, instead of offering us their staff facility or something she referred us to another hotel nearby to use the restroom?? So we decided to hop back in the car with a bladder full to find a place for us to use a restroom! I'm so disappointed! Hope they can do better next time

Review 22:Easy access to where we going

Review 23:Heater is not working.had to change room 3 times and finally I was asked to contact booking.com by the supervisor on duty so I can get another hotel.i was shockes bcos a supervisor asking a customer to go get service else where was suprising.if all customers go else where what happens to her future with the hospiality firm.

Review 24:Older establishment. Breakfast was minimal. Cereal. Fruit.

Review 25:Location was good for purpose. Travelled with friend and sons for football games. Not sure my wife would have liked it to much.

Review 26:We had 2 rooms and in room 225 there was a leek or something near the faucet causing the floor to be wet and the trey sitting by the sink that had the ice cube container and the cups on it was covered in some nasty looking yellow water. The day we were leaving we let house keeping know they probably should have that looked at. We were here for a football game so I didn't make a big fuss about this and the location is pretty good.

Review 27:My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 36 hours. At no point during those 36 hours did the WIFI work on her laptop or my laptop or my IPad. There were random sketchy people in the parking lot during the day and at night too.

Review 28:The location is OK. It is close to UMD and has plenty of parking spaces.

Review 29:strange people in and around the hotel, some making noise. Although may not be dangerous it looked weird. Free Wifi is only in the lounge and very very poor in the room

Review 30:close to washington (20 minutest drive)

Review 31:The room I was in was in desperate need of renovations. The carpet was very worn and dirty/stained. The bathroom was questionable as far as cleanliness...the bath tub was stained and I didn't trust it, so it was showers with shower shoes for the entire week I was there. The clock provided in the room was not functional.

Review 32:It was convenient to restaurants and the highway. The price was okay since I was on a budget for my 2 week stay in the US. It appeared to be a quiet location. I would only recommend this place to a friend if they did not mind the quality of the facility.

Review 33:Poor Wi-Fi, handicapped room meant ramp to entry, nothing in bathroom like grab bars or walk-in shower vs tub. On the whole, better then most Days Inn we have tried.

Review 34:Price, really nice staff.

Review 35:Staff is really nice, we were looking for a house to live there in College Park and they even tried to help us looking for possible places. Very clean, nice breakfast, close to buses, swimming pool. They kept our luggage for free and even gave us a special price for staying more days than planned at first. We would completely recommend it.

Review 36:Yeah I was robbed and licked out of my room three times once with my pregnant wife and child needed to get out of the sun. I stay a week and paid 100 for my cat and 500 up from oh and wifi a joke too

Review 37:Where to start? We checked in between 9 and 10 PM. I was greeted by the security guard who was so sound asleep that he never moved during my 5 minute check-in. I almost felt obligated as an EMT to check his pulse. His uniform shirt being unbuttoned was a nice touch. The front desk clerk informed me that the pool which they share with the neighboring hotel didn't open until 2 PM (not mentioned on the website), that ruined my daughter and her friend's plans since there wasn't much else to do while my son and I visited the university. The continental breakfast was the worst I have ever encountered in any hotel. It really should have been called a toast bar and the yogurt probably would have been better it had a few ice cubes under it. On the upside, the watery oatmeal wasn't too terrible. As far as the room was concerned, it appeared basically clean and free from any unusual odors. Upon closer inspection I definitely would not have made any coffee in the in-room pot. I'm pretty sure the black stuff at the bottom weren't old coffee grounds. The bathroom floor and all the wood surfaces in the room were a bit sticky (I hope it was from a poor choice in cleaners, but I doubt it). The exterior of the building needed quite a bit of work to include peeling paint and swollen stucco. The exterior ice machine could have been better lit especially given the area the hotel is in and the secluded location of the ice machine.

Review 38:Front desk clerk upon check in was friendly and delivered the fold away bed in less than the 15 minutes stated. Good speed on the Wi-fi connection.

Review 39:The staff at the Days Inn were excellent, highly professional and very nice. It's in an 'interesting' part of town . We stayed for two nights and did the tourist thing in DC. It was literally a bed for the night. Definitely worth the price but could do with an overhaul !

Review 40:The place is pretty outdated (bedding, furniture, decorations, carpet old and stinky) It would have been nice to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room.

Review 41:The location was close enough to D.C. for us.

Review 42:The fact that I was in a non smoking room and someone smoked in the room and left a Dutch in there.

Review 43:The beds were comfortable and the chick from a different country was nice.

Review 44:Lobby a/c was broke very hot to have breakfast food out to serve. Pool is shared by at least 3 other hotels. Staff double changed me for my room but did remove the charge. I didn't feel the area was safe many hoodlums walking the streets.

Review 45:Pool was clean and the room was low priced.

Review 46:Non-smoking room smelled a little smoky Unable to walk to anything Staff not incredibly friendly Light fixtures didn't work perfectly

Review 47:Affordable/inexpensive Spacious room Clean linens/towels/etc. Complete control over thermostat Available safety measures (i.e. deadbolt) Near restaurants, metro, CP Staff was helpful Noon checkout time No problems with noise

Review 48:Everything from the front desk to the room I stay in

Review 49:Terrible rooms and they are dirty

Review 50:Excellent and relaxing stay

Review 51:nothing

Review 53:Bad WIFI

Review 54:Direct tv didn't have everything that was advertised. The room didn't have enough wall outlets.

Review 55:The breakfast was good. The room was nice.

Review 56:Other guests were loud and drinking. Staff refused to take action.

Review 57:location was convenient and easy to find

Review 58:No security force watching over the neighborhood. Sometimes some people just gather and make loud noises.

Review 59:I would have liked more of a breakfast.......waffles, fruit!!!!

Review 60:Everything

Review 61:Nothing ,

Review 62:I like everithimg the staff the place the room

Review 63:Breakfast wasn't big, but it was free, so can't complain.

Review 64:It overall was a nice place to stay

Review 65:I know this area of College Park was crowded, but it seems the Wi-Fi kept going out. It would be nice to have more non-smoking rooms.

Review 66:pungent smell of fumigation that went away in a couple of hours

Review 67:Feel of 5-star in a cost of 2-star

Review 68:Breakfast, location

Review 69:Staff

Review 70:Front desk staff

Review 71:Heigh speed wifi

Review 72:Dirty room, awful scent and broken a/c.

Review 73:Location near U. of Md.

Review 74:no elevator and price is high, the only reason I choose here is close to UM.

Review 75:Location

Review 76:Close to Washington DC-just 15 min by car.Big and clean room, tasty breakfast.I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

Review 77:no variety in breackfast

Review 78:attention, clean rooms, quiet zone, good location, easy acces

Review 79:Did not have variety on breackfast

Review 80:The hotel was quiet, clean rooms, excellent attention.

Review 81:outdated. Typical american breakfast

Review 82:location was good; once you find the underground you are in Washington DC within 30 minutes.

Review 83:The rooms has a smell like tobacco,

Review 84:Its quiet the room is spacious, but I did not like the smell yet its a non smoking room.

Review 85:Having to make a left turn out of the hotel parking lot into ongoing traffic.

Review 86:Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 87:Mattress could be a little newer.

Review 88:Really good value. Fridge and microwave good to know about ahead of arrival.Nice quiet area.

Review 89:Brekfast could have ben better

Review 90:Everthing

Review 91:Just needs a clean secure place to sleep and it was perfect. Clean and well lit.

Review 92:I was placed on the top floor. I requested ground floor.

Review 93:Size of the room

Review 94:everything from bed to room to breakfast

Review 95:not much

Review 96:Everything from pricing to location

Review 97:Our room smelled musty. The bathroom was way too small. The breakfast consisted of cereal, milk, bread for toasting and coffee. No juice, no fruit.

Review 98:service Internet

Review 99:smell in the room air conditioner moisture

Review 100:breakfast, staff, location

Review 101:I liked the location, it is close to a lot of eating facilities and shopping malls. It was also near the Highway and destination I was going in.

Review 102:The complimentary breakfast was inconsistent and lacking in choices.

Review 103:Burns on the tub..no microwave or frigirator an they held money for to long...

Review 104:The pricing...

Review 105:Breakfast was not even what I call breakfast just cold cereal and toast not even a continental breakfast.

Review 106:Not enough offered

Review 107:Very limited breakfast. Room needs maintenance. It is an old motel.

Review 108:Small room, definitely needed a remodel.

Review 109:Price, check in clerk was extremely helpful, went out of her way to assisit us with anything we needed.

Review 110:Wifi was in and out

Review 111:The staff was excellent

Review 112:The parking was a little tight.

Review 113:It was close to quite a few places to eat. The beds were comfortable.

Review 114:We planned to go to dc and six flags and this hotel was right in between parking could have been better but everything else good. Recomended.

Review 115:The smell and darkness of the room.

Review 116:I like the mannerism of the staff, especially the frony desk. They were very, helpful, friendly and corteous.

Review 117:No fridge or microwave. Bathroom too small. Pool didn't open until 2 pm and teenage kids had to have adult. Breakfast minimal and always out of coffee

Review 118:Price and location

Review 119:The complimentary breakfast was okay, but was made to seem like more in the description on the website. On the day we checked out (checkout is 1200) at 8:15 we heard a faint rapping on the door (probably used the key card), and a cleaning crew member tried to walk in. We were in an end unit and we could hear every conversation and footstep coming up the steps to the second floor.

Review 120:The room was clean and convenient

Review 121:We had booked a king or quuen size bed and got a room with 2 doubles, which could not be put together; this obviously did not work for us but no other room available even on day 2 of 3; Very disorganized housekeeping staff; coffee maker was missing the glass carafe and it took 24 hours (out of a 3 day stay) to get one; safe never got opened as handyman was busy; Housekeeping came at 8 am to check for room service, when we asked them to return a bit later (we were just getting ready for breakfast) they just didn't return at all and never made up the room; front staff gave us lots of towers and offered fresh sheets to make up our own room when we returned from a day of sightseeing in Washington; front desk gave us a credit for one night on the total charge, which we really appreciated;

Review 122:lots ot towels, coffee & tea; space for clothing ( drawers, hangers) comfortable beds clean unit, looked well-kept, friendly front office staff, close to public transportation into Washington
