Reviews for Hotel La Reine

Review 1:Wifi wasn't connecting at all. Suspect it was a network issue effecting the area, but the hotel should address if that is not the case. Also, not a problem, just something for drivers to be aware of, car park is not on main street but on the one-way side street.

Review 2:Stayed here for break of journey while driving and very glad we did. Spa was a revelation, and this hotel was very comfortable. Good sized room, spacious and heated bathroom, and very comfortable bed. Easy parking. Breakfast excellent and the owner was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Review 3:We stayed in October and the only time the restaurant/bar area was open was for breakfast. So in reality our experience of it was as a B&B not a hotel. We had looked forward to being able to sit in the hotel bar/lounge in the evening and were disappointed to not have that option.

Review 4:Great location near center. Comfortable clean rooms, beautiful bathroom, helpful staff.

Review 5:Owner(s) were friendly and helpful. Great location, wonderful breakfast. The son has a restaurant which is just down the street where we had a great and well priced meal.

Review 6:Charming place with a beautifull garden in middel where you can sit to enjoy. Very peacefull. The room are nice and simple, you can find a little fridge with minibar drinks and a water boiller for to make some coffe. Breakfast is excelent and top service, very friendly!

Review 7:Wifi range a bit flaky. Some steps to get to the rooms (a little nuisance with a baby carriage).

Review 8:Very friendly and helpful owners. Good quality breakfast.

Review 9:All the rooms are on the ground floor which makes it a little uncomfortable to leave your window open during the night (even though they don't open to the street). On the other hand the rooms open up to the lovely garden so you can sit outside in the sun right next to your room.

Review 10:Very nice rooms with big bathrooms which are kept very clean by the friendly staff. Breakfast was fresh, nice and French. Lovely quiet garden to sit and read.

Review 11:The only problem we found is the address. Don't look at the front in Avenue Reine Astrid. The hotel is really in the side road - Rue Adolphe Bastin.

Review 12:Great location - convenient for centre yet very quiet - with a handy supermarket just across the road. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 13:Fabulous garden courtyard for sitting out and having a glass of wine. Very impressive conservatory where the very good breakfast is served. Lovely welcoming service from the hotel proprietors.

Review 14:No really bad experience. *Could be a bit noisy in the mornings as there was a school playground behind, but that is all. * A safe in the room would have been useful although there was no problem leaving items with the owner in reception safe.

Review 15:*Very helpful owners. We arrived rather early but allowed into room. *Room good size with comfy beds. Excellent storage, both hanging and drawer space. Decor looked pristine. *Bathroom lovely. Many towels, all soft and good quality. Good supply of soaps, hankies etc. Shower to die for!! Wish I could have brought it home. *Fridge in room handy.

Review 16:Very little

Review 17:I stayed here before when it was called Le Pierre. It was getting a little bit shabby. The new owners are refurbishing and it's looking good.

Review 18:I can't think of anything; maybe they should take pets.

Review 19:Nice little hotel close to the centre of Spa, just a short walk away. There's also a good supermarket on the other side of the boulevard. The room was large (and the bathroom too) and excellently heated. The owners are lovely, always friendly and helpful.

Review 20:very helpful and friendly staff. good english spoken. free parking. average breakfast included. more like an american motel than a european hotel, which is ok.

Review 21:We parked the car outside the given address, a large old building, which bears the hotel name with an easily visible sign. On the door are directions to the actual entrance, which is quite a little walk to the corner of the street and then a left turn for further walk. Not easy with luggage.- notice on the door should say to take your car. Elderly people arriving by taxi could have a struggle with their luggage. The hotel itself is actually a newer structure behind the old building. Would recommend entrance details be sent by hotel or booking.com with hotel confirmation.

Review 22:Pretty much everything was perfect for us. Pierre, the owner, was charming and helpful, spoke good English. His wife was away and, other than the cleaning, he seemed to be doing everything himself, but in a calm pleasant manner. The rooms were more than adequate, good size, good bathrooms. Directly outside all rooms is a spacious garden.

Review 23:The owner is really nice and received us really well. The hotel translates exactly how the city is: calm and cosy. The bedroom was super clean, internet works fine, the location is amazing... RIGHT IN THE HEART OF TOWN. I surely recommend the place.

Review 24:The staff were 1st class and friendly. the room was comfortable and clean. the only thing that was missing was tea and coffee in the room. everything else was just fine.

Review 47:everything

Review 48:Very hepful and friendly owners-staff; a huge room (for a 4member family) and a spacious garden-lawn right in front of the rooms - very convenient for families with (not only small) kids. A good location-walking distance from city centre.

Review 49:The central garden is OK, but can be used for social activities of groups that not allow for privacy and full silence.

Review 50:This is a good location for two or three days in Spa.

Review 51:We were disappointed with the town of Spa - it seemed very run down. The owner and lady who served us breakfast was a heavy smoker so the conservatory where we ate smelt of stale smoke.

Review 52:Room was comfortable and clean, OK for 1 night.

Review 53:The staff were very friendly. The town centre location was very good. It's the second time my friends and I have stayed there and we'll staying there again.

Review 55:ver nice region for mountainbike, walks in the woods. The rooms are large and clean. The breakfast is basic but OK. The staff is ver friendly and helpfull.

Review 56:The original part of the hotel off the main street is now closed. Even though this area contains high quality lounge furniture and a small bar area, the owners choose not to offer any facilities other than breakfast.

Review 57:Rooms were in a quiet location at the back of the hotel with good parking and within a short distance of a great selection of local restaurants. Good breakfast.

Review 58:At the time of booking relative expensive to facilities offered, lack of charm, beds not very comfortable

Review 61:Good location near centre of Spa, comfortable room, peaceful hotel (rooms open onto a garden) comfortable bed, good bathroom - could not be faulted. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is private parking facing the street. Breakfast was good.

Review 62:We left our towel in the room and we realised it only in the afternoon, having already left the hotel. We came back to find it but the hoteltold us that it was not possible at that particular moment, the cleaninglady having already tidied the room, etc.

Review 63:The receptionist was kind enough to wait for us when we called the hotelthat we would be arriving late in the evening.

Review 64:Friendly staff, good breakfast, quiet location but well placed for walking into Spa. Our rooms opened out onto the garden, which was great for relaxing in the sun while the group prepared to go out etc. Perfect for a group to book a few rooms together.

Review 65:An excellent budget hotel that is well situated in the town centre ofSpa. Helpful staff, clean rooms, beds & linen etc., It's not 5 Star butyou are not paying 5 star prices. If you are looking for a clean room, good buffet breakast and helpful staff - then the Hotel le Pierre is theoplace. We would definately go back.

Review 68:The place is so near to the trainstation which is very convienent and easy to find out. The host was very enthusiatic. To us, the WIFI was extremely necessary and it worked well at the hotel.

Review 69:The owners are a friendly helpful couple who speak english which isuseful for non french speakers. The hotel is in a good location in thecentre of Spa but not noisy. We found the rooms to be clean and ingood condition, with a powerful hot shower in the bathroom. Thebreakfast had a good choice and was plentiful. We plan on staying hereagain next year.
