Reviews for Kalispell Grand Hotel
Review 1:I could only stay one night. I would have rather fallen down the stairs just so I could stay for a week. Alas! It wasn't to be. But I'll be back.
Review 2:The staff was personable and friendly. After a long day of travel and business meetings, they were very comforting. And so was the Hotel personable and friendly. What a great place. And you can't beat the location. Right in the middle of everything.
Review 3:Room was very small, but that is the nature of 100+ year old hotels.
Review 4:Centrally located on my route. Many restaurants in the area. Classic nature of a downtown hotel.
Review 5:Absolutely nothing to dislike.
Review 6:The whole experience was perfect from booking in until booking out. The Staff and the room couldn't be faulted. Thankyou so much
Review 7:That we couldn't stay longer.
Review 8:Everything. Hotel is fantastic, love that they kept the decor true to time period. Staff is wonderful. Breakfast was amazing as were the cookies in the evening. Location is perfect - walked to stores and park.
Review 9:Room was good but the bathroom had a strange layout that was not very pleasing or convenient. The AC unit was super loud to run. Staying there on Sunday Night was a mistake as the whole town seemed to be dead in the evening; no stores or restaurants were open except cheap little fast food places.
Review 10:i liked the lobby which had a museum/gallery feel to it with great seating areas. The location of the hotel being in downtown was a plus also.
Review 11:What did we like? Everything! The staff are fantastic & the room was perfect. And to top it off, they spoiled my service dog rotten. Bear gives them a 4 paw approval rating.
Review 12:Road noise as the hotel is on the Min drag.
Review 13:The staff was excellent and helpful. The facilities are clean and well appointed. Our room was clean and comfortable. The room even smelled clean and fresh. The towels were bright white and soft. The continental breakfast was very well done. We will stay here again and recommend it to anyone travelling to Kalispell.
Review 14:Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. The character of a hotel build this many years ago is a pleasant change from the more modern hotel designs. A step back in time with with classic antiques in the lobby and the continental breakfast was great ... Room was small but well appointed and comfortable. Almost expected to see a hitching post outside ... Would definately stay here again.
Review 15:Some may be bothered by the traffic noise but we slept fine.
Review 16:Atmosphere and breakfast. Charming hotel beautifully redone, walking distance to interesting neiborhoods. The front desk clerk was especially friendly! And welcoming, plus she personally cooked the quice for breakfast! Excellently!
Review 17:There is nothing we didn't like about this hotel. what a wonderful property and experience.
Review 18:We loved the architecture and décor of this property. It was beautifully restored and has all the modern conveniences of newer hotels. The solid wood, light fixtures and overall design is very nice. Excellent downtown location.
Review 19:The staff was very friendly and helpful, it was quiet, near all the little shops downtown, it was very centrally located, clean, and dog-friendly (though we left our dog at home this time).
Review 20:I'd suggest getting a room off the street side of the building, but this is a very minor point.
Review 21:The character and unique atmosphere of the facility is always a pleasure. We've stayed many times and will do so again in the future. The homemade goodies and breakfast are excellent. Staff is fantastic and friendly.
Review 22:The bed was soooooo comfortable we fell asleep almost immediately and the staff was incredibly nice. The room was immaculate, I've never been so comfortable in a hotel room before. We will be coming back very soon. Don't forget to tip your housekeeper!
Review 23:the old hotel was beautiful, the location perfect

Review 51:Fantastic beds, great breakfast and the staff a pleasure to deal with. Loved the popcorn and cookies in the afternoon. Great location to the mall and interesting stores just outside. Loved the character of the hotel.
Review 52:The parking is behind the hotel in a city lot. The hotel gives you a validated pass to put in your windshield, but the lot is not on site.
Review 53:Great location within walking distance to several very good restaurants. Historic hotel with lots of character. Clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.
Review 54:Nothing
Review 55:Had a wonderful time in Kallispell. The Grand has excellent staff, great location and very comfortable accommodations. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends. The treats were a nice touch.
Review 56:I wish I could remember the name of the front desk clerk, he had an accent. He was fabulous, great customer service. The hotel was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.
Review 57:the location, the friendly and helpful staff, the classy rooms, the very, very comfortable beds, the breakfasts and great coffee and the beautiful wooden bannister
Review 58:Being located downtown on Main Street (corner room) allowed for minor traffic noise.
Review 59:The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast provided healthy food options. Very intimate setting. One of the most enjoyable stays I've experienced.
Review 60:I travel a lot and generally feel slightly uncomfortable staying in hotels. The Grand Hotel and it's staff made me feel like I was at home. I wish all hotels would follow their example. Loved it!
Review 61:The ambiance was great. Loved the classic staircase. While our room was small (as expected), it was well-appointed, cozy and comfortable. It's a hotel that feels like a B&B. Exceptionally good value.
Review 62:Only issue was noise from the road. Not too bad, and I didn't have any trouble sleeping because of it.
Review 63:Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Coming off the train early in the morning, they let us check in early. Leaving on the train late at night, they let us checkout late. Room was great, location was nice. Really enjoyed my stay.
Review 64:Breakfast for the 3 days I spent there was good, but a slight change of main dish each day would have been nice.
Review 65:Cheerful friendly staff clean as a whistle Good breakfast centrally located easy to find, near 2 great restaurants & interesting shops. comfortable beds & bedding.
Review 66:only thing I can say is that heating was not on in the room, was a bit cold but soon warmed up
Review 67:As all the reviews say, this is a wonderful place, right in centre of town, delicious free cookies/popcorn, free tea and coffee and super friendly staff. It also has this perfect old world charm..
Review 68:My room was across the street from the legion and was a bit noisy.
Review 69:The hotel has a lovely warm atmosphere with nice touches. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. The afternoon cookies were great.
Review 70:Would like to have seen a lounge in the building.
Review 71:Ashley was very helpful and friendly.we liked the design of the building, the atmosphere was very nice.
Review 72:Room was small, bit cramped. No tub, just shower.
Review 73:Good breakfast, clean room, friendly staff. Didn't feel like a "box hotel". Unique experience.
Review 74:Good location on the main street, convinient to access the airport orFlathead or Whitefish. A building with history which could provide somelocal flavor to tourists
Review 75:The bathroom was not very clean, maybe it was just because it is an old building but it felt unclean. We did not get any hot water from the tap in the bathroom, but the shower was fine. The free breakfast was just OK, not good but not bad either.
Review 76:The building was very nice, I enjoyed the nice comfy bed and the staff was very friendly. And the "on the house" cookies was fantastic! Me and my fiance really enjoyed the cookies! Location was perfect, in the middle of town.
Review 77:The entire staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. It's a 100 year old restored facility right in the middle of town, so very convenient. I happened to forget my pain medication and about a half hour after I left, they called me saying the maid had found them. Since I'm travelling in Canada, I don't have access to my health facilities/pharmacies so I would have had to cut my trip short and return home.
Review 78:My family really enjoyed staying at the Kalispell Grand Hotel. The friendly service and attention to detail made it a very nice stay for my family. Of course, my kids enjoyed the fresh-baked cookies and the popcorn, but my husband and I really enjoyed the location near lots of interesting shops in downtown Kalispell and the cleanliness of our room.
Review 79:The air conditioning unit was terrible, old and very loud!! The rooms are small so it was either very cold with it on or very hot if you turned it off. It would have been nice to have a newer tv.
Review 80:The staff were friendly, the cookies and popcorn were a nice treat. The beds and pillows were good as well.
Review 81:The elevator was very creaky sounding and made you wonder if it wasgoing to make the trip. Everything else was really great!
Review 82:I was a little anxious when I saw the outside of the hotel. It couldhave been really seedy, but it wasn'T. It was beaufitully restored. We were checked in expeditiously. When we said that we had to leave at 5:30 am the next morning for the airport, the receptionist said that she would order breakfast ready for us at 5:00 am instead of the normal 5:30. I can't imagine a chain hotel being as accommodating. She also gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant for dinner. Although we only chose this hotel because we couldn't get another night at the other hotel we were staying at, I would stay at the Grand Hotel again in a heartbeat. It was wonderful.
Review 83:Needs black-out curtains or shades.
Review 84:Warmth, historical surroundings, staff, cleanliness, cookies, and popcorn! More like a B and B than a hotel (that is a compliment).
Review 85:Nothing major really...the mattresses were a little too soft for our liking, which affected our sleep. But I understand that's a personal preference!
Review 86:- Great location and price - Loved the snacks - Breakfast was different than the usual, and was great quality - Very clean and comfortable - Hotel building itself was very well maintained and had lots of character
Review 87:The room was a little on the small side but this is to be expected in an older hotel.
Review 88:Kalispell Grand Hotel is a renovated 100 year old hotel that retains the atmosphere of a bygone era. A nice complimentary breakfast is available daily and there are several restaurants within easy walking distance. It is a lovely hotel.
Review 89:The rain
Review 90:This lovely vintage boutique hotel is absolutely lovely.... Greatdecor! The coffee/water/ cookies and popcorn in the lobby areawere an added bonus for a mid afternoon or pre bedtime "noche"! Breakfast was lovely and ample ....Beds were great! The western shopdirectly across from the Grand was fabulous... It's enormous and onecan spend the afternoon just browsing .... the proprietor was extremelyhelpful re local info.... Brannigan's (Irish Pub around the cornerfrom the Grand) was a great place to hang in the rain... Good beer andpub fare The Grand is located in the heart of everything.. One can walkanywhere and enjoy all the sights there are to offer fromshops/restaurants to parks and even some of the most interestingresidential areas!... Great value for a lovely spot!
Review 91:no easy chair in room
Review 92:100 yr old hotel, nicely updated nice breakfast daily Kalispell is a nice western town. beautiful area,Glacier natl park, lots of lakes, lushly green, spectacular mtn peaks
Review 93:The hotel was great. The staff was very helpful. The food was wonderful. My husband dropped his car keys down the elevator opening they searched until they found them about an hour or so they searched as if the keys were theirs. We would recommend to friends and family to stay at the kalispell grand hotel....
Review 94:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 95:What a charming hotel loved the friendly staff, the homemade cookies and popcorn. The beds are like sleeping in grandma's feather bed, so comfy. Breakfast was plentiful and the setting makes for a good start to the day.
Review 96:The rooms were not large but very clean and the beds were very nice. Breakfast was very with a good variety. They also had homemade cookies and popcorn at night. The hotel was opened in 1903 but has been upgraded but has kept he old time charm, especially with the staircase and lobby. It is right downtown and is surrounded by speciality shops and one shopping center. Most of the large stores have moved to the away from downtown area. There is a large park about 6 blocks from the hotel for people with children. All in all a very pleasant stay.
Review 97:The very comfortable beds. The quiet location of the room. The delicious breakfast in the morning-homemade quiche, fruits, yogurt, juices, loaves - very tasty! The exceptional value for the price.
Review 98:Same thing each morning for breakfast.I think they could have a few different loaves on different days, alternate potato cheese quiche with other like preparations.
Review 99:Friendliness and accommodating staff, pet friendly, beds, complimentary breakfast, excellent coffee
Review 100:Satisfied customer.
Review 101:It was cozy and comfortable. Loved the cozy duvet. Breakfast was nice. Parking was close by. Well located. Great place to spend the night when travelling.
Review 102:The room we were in had a lot of traffic noise and we did not sleep well.
Review 103:The price was excellent, the staff outstanding and the ambiance was pleasing and historical.
Review 104:internet connection was unreliable.
Review 105:I liked the ambience, the fact that it was downtown, it was clean, the breakfast was very nice and the coffee was good.
Review 106:The beds were not very comfortable.
Review 107:The customer service was impeccable. Next time we visit Kalispell, we will definitely be staying at the Grand Hotel!
Review 108:Tv old and dated. Cable connection bad. Room was kind of small
Review 109:Wonderfully friendly staff that was very helpful loved the breakfast and cookies. Enjoyed my stay
Review 110:Great location. One block from mall, three blocks to Moose's Saloon which has the best pizza in Kalispell. Bed was great and room was nicely done. Nice breakfast nothing special. We will be staying here on our next trip to Kallispell
Review 111:A little noisy as it is right on main st.
Review 112:Loved the location of this grand old hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Welcoming and friendly staff. Our King Grande rm. was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was much better than the average continental breakfast-homemade quiche etc. Great experience and so close to dining and shopping.
Review 113:The outside noices and too many sweets for breakfast. would much rather had fresh fruit
Review 114:The great clean, white linens and towels.. I loved the lobbies and hall spaces, a far cry from the new commercial hotel lobbies. Great to have coffe and cookies, my husband had a cup of popcorn!
Review 115:Room was a mite small, but otherwise comfortable
Review 116:Nice motel atmosphere. Easy to find location. Parking not the problem I expected it to be. The breakfast quiche makes a normal motel breakfast something special.
Review 117:We love staying in a hotel that is located within walking distance to great restaurants, and the Eagles Club to go dancing on a Saturday night. Plus this hotel has great atmosphere.
Review 118:Rooms can be compact, but this is common in older hotels. Be careful if given a room on 2nd floor near the ice machine; it can be noisy and disturb sleep. Staff sorted this out for us. Some traffic noise from Main St. (especially in morning - rooms on the side street are quieter).
Review 119:Great heritage building, lovely friendly staff, coffee, cookies and popcorn laid on in lobby for arriving guests, very comfortable beds with high quality linen, nice continental breakfast with great quiche, located in town centre - close to bars and restaurants. Convenient free parking. We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 120:Some guests on our floor were letting their children run up and down the halls from 6:30 a.m. ongoing... We had hoped for a quieter room and will just let the staff know for next time.
Review 121:We loved the staff, the decor, the breakfast, its a beautiful hotel.
Review 122:Staff were friendly and helpful, and provided home-from-home touches for guests such as home baked cookies. The hotel had character and charm. This is THE place to stay in Kalispell.
