Reviews for STF Hostel Umeå
Review 1:No staff at the reception. I had to give my credit card details on the phone because I was arriving after 7pm. The bedroom where i slept gets a huge amount of noise from the road, I really think the rooms need better sound isolation. I think its overpriced.
Review 2:Reception closes down very early so you need a code to gain entry - didn't receive mine beforehand so that caused problems. They charge for everything: breakfast, linens, lockers. Wifi set up is not simple like everywhere else I stayed. Overall, do not recommend.
Review 3:Good location and clean facilities.
Review 4:Not their problem/fault, but make sure you close the front door to the hostel after hours and keep your room locked both when you're in it and not, the city's homeless are crafty and someone's figure out the code and try and sneek in. Not as creepy as it sounds.
Review 5:Good price/value breakfast buffet (60kr), great location and easy to find, friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever met (got a refund on a breakfast I paid for then realised I was leaving too early to use it).
Review 6:Staff is really nice and kind if you can find them.. they work very limited hour.. there are no one at the reception.. watch out the check-in hours. other wise you have to hang out in the city about 4 hours like me :(
Review 7:kitchen was nice, and social area I used a lot..
Review 8:No staff available after 19:15. Staff had not mentioned that the room lockers could only be used by paying a 300 SEK deposit — in cash — that’s right, over $50, and if the locker key was lost, it would cost 500 SEK, another $85. Does it really cost $85 to replace a lock, or have a key made in Sweden? There were rules posted everywhere to lend the hostel that charming, homey feeling. There was no soap in the bathroom dispenser.

Review 11:Room very very small and Surprise: you have to make your own bed lines and clean the room.
Review 12:Bathrooms and showers are a rather run-down. Breakfast could be more diverse.

Review 15:Good location, room was nice and I was alone in it
Review 16:Nice and helpful staff, good location in the city centre.
Review 17:How unavailable staff personnel and assistance were.
Review 18:The breakfast bar was awesome!
Review 19:We had to wait for the breakfast, because the boy who worked had missed the starttime of his work. That delayed us the whole day ( we went by car 570 km that day). The breakfast was delayed about 45 minutes.
