Reviews for Hotel Bracara Augusta

Review 1:Nothing really

Review 2:The staff!!! More then helpful, helping me with parking, umbrella, hot cappuccino and I really appreciate it! The location is awesome, the breakfast is good

Review 3:The WiFi was available but didn't work, the TV was too small and the soundproofing of the room was bad.

Review 4:The breakfast, the location, the staff and the retro-modern style.

Review 5:Location is right in the centre, parking place is paid by the hotel from 21-00 till 09-00, very clean, amazing restaurant right in the hotel + discount for the guests.

Review 6:Room a bit disappointing

Review 7:Great location. Ate in the restaurant- food was good but portions were very large. Staff very attentive. Breakfast choice was very good.

Review 8:Much of the city is a pedestrian precinct and there were many one way streets so it was a bit difficult to find. GPS took us to many dead end streets. We finally walked the last bit and then got directions from staff on how to get the car infront of the hotel -after that it was a piece of cake and definitely worth it. Parking was included.

Review 9:Amazing hotel. Fruit selection in the room when we arrived -complimentary. Also a kettle and selection of tea and coffee. The staff was helpful and accommodating suggesting a restaurant and booking a table for us when their restaurant was closed. Room was very clean comfortable and spacious. Bathroom clean, lots of hot water and good pressure. Nice towels. The breakfast buffet was extensive with both hot and cold items. They would even make scrambled eggs for you-just ask. We had dinner in their restaurant one night and it too was fantastic. The maître'd was extremely knowledgeable about how the food was prepared, helped us with our choices and suggested wine. Staff spoke perfect English. Highly recommended!!!

Review 10:I cannot fault it in any way.

Review 11:This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in! It is beautifully appointed and we had a three room 'suite' for about half the price of our rather plain hotel in Porto.

Review 12:Very, very difficult to arrive at the hotel by car. Call the reception to access. If you don't wish to dine in the hotel, there's bit of a walking distance to the main restaurant area.

Review 13:Breakfast, upgrade to suite, hall and restaurant, garden.

Review 14:Paring was limited, however secure public parking is reasonably close. The distance is 150 to 200m max and it is easy to get to the hotel across a pedestrian square. Also, the hotel cover the price from 9pm to 9am.

Review 15:A genuine friendly welcome. Everyone was out to ensure our stay was the best possible. The hotel food was incredible and reasonably priced.

Review 16:Could benefit from more comfortable seating in the garden.

Review 17:This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Braga with a superb restaurant. There is a lovely tranquil garden to the rear of the hotel. There are comfortable seating areas on all floors. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

Review 18:Nothing.

Review 19:Our room was a suite at the front of the hotel with a separate sitting area complete with television. The balcony overlooked a pedestrian area and beautiful park. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom.Three or four car parks on the street across the park were available to hotel guests without charge. We had an excellent lunch in the hotel restaurant at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Braga.

Review 20:Difficulty in finding the hotel, since I didn't have GPS...though the hotel had kindly emailed a map showing where the 4 free parking spots were!!!!

Review 21:Reception person...Joana, was EXCELLENT! I arrived tired and cranky, and she just listened and found me the best QUIET isolated room they had...#306. I should have stayed for several days, not just one day. Lovely, well decorated, inviting hotel, with a real computer for me to use...BONUS! Great in every way. Thanks, Joana!

Review 22:The bed had a plastic under sheet, hot and sticky night. No milk in the fridge to make tea and coffee even though everything else was provided

Review 23:Good buffet breakfast and at last a great cup of coffee thanks to the Nespresso machine. Staff very friendly and helpful

Review 24:Horribly difficult to access by car as in a restricted pedestrianised zone which requires someone in the hotel to press the button and lower the obstacle. The hotel does have 4 parking places on the road in front, across the grass lawn and it would have been much easier, less stressful and time consuming (it took an hour to get to it, finally leaving the car and seeking advice from the hotel on what to do) to have advised us to park there and walk the 30 yards down to the hotel.

Review 25:Well appointed and sympathetically modernised old building and in a great position on the main square. Comfortable and with helpful staff. Good breakfast.

Review 26:We didn't have a bad experience but car parking could be an issue for some travellers. There are a few parking spots available. But really parking cars can be a problem in many old small cities in Europe.

Review 27:The front rooms with balconies overlooking the large central square. The staff were lovely too.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Hotel Bracara Agusta is a small hotel in central Braga. Excellent location to start your exploration of this beautiful city. It is spotlessly clean. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are really nice. The food is good and really fresh. Breakfast is plentiful and choice of food excellent. We loved staying here and would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 30:Prefer better quality pillows and cushier beds; the TV is so miniscule I didn't even know it was there. Shower curtain rod was about to fall off and it is almost impossible to raise the diverter on the shower faucet.

Review 31:From the front desk to the restaurant team, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Reception team members speak multiple languages flawlessly and truly know the area. Beautiful garden and delicious restaurant food. Quiet, quiet and quiet!

Review 32:Nothing at all. Loved it.

Review 33:Well, we always try to stay in fairly central locations, and this was ideal for us. The hotel has four parking spaces of their own, just opposite, across the green; and though these cannot be reserved, we managed to have one for one of the days we stayed. Otherwise, the main, central underground car park is also just here; so you are in any case not likely to be more than two or three minutes' walk from your car. The staff were unfailingly helpful and informative. Our room, at the the building and in front, had real charm, I thought. We were very comfortable here; and by UK standards, the place seemed like a wonderfully good value.

Review 34:Hotel Bracara Augusta is located near the center of Braga within easy walking distance to all the historic features and shopping district. The free parking was a bonus. The hotel offers a good breakfast and the rooms were clean.

Review 35:Difficult parking, but understandable due to the positioning.

Review 36:Location, room layout, the staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant is really excellent (Michelin starred) and with low prices. Breakfast is very good.

Review 37:There was a very strange noise coming from the aircondirioning, which was so annoying that we could barely sleep. The door to the bathroom seemed to be a pretty old one, so at times it was hard to open it

Review 38:The staff was very professional and helpful, the location was good and the breakfast excellent

Review 39:Nice restaurant. So far been there four times .But Only can not bear with the loud noise from the kitchen side.someone is always banging the door of the fridge and talking loudly .

Review 40:The staff is very friendly especially the waiter and the waitress in the restaurant .

Review 41:They have only 4 parking places about 100m from the hotel. Staff was hardly comunicaiting in english that made bit of fan about our breakfast. Very dry and high room temprature even if you don't tourch heating system. I am not sure perheps this was only in our room.

Review 42:Location of this hotel is very central on the main square of old town. This is very nice old building and boutique style interior. We gain from early january promotin and paid 89 Euro dbl room for 2 nights including breakfast, Suprisingly good value for this money via booking.com Rooms are confortable , clean and quite .

Review 43:We liked everything about it - but if you're American you should know that this may not be your version of a "luxury" hotel.

Review 44:Very friendly staff, clean, cozy (but not tiny), good value. This is where we'll stay anytime we're fortunate enough to be in Braga.

Review 45:Just need to be aware that some streets in the area have restricted access and there are only 4 free parking spots one street over from hotel. Parking not a problem for us but in busy season might be tough.

Review 46:Hotel located in a central location on a nice quiet, restricted traffic street. Easy walking distance from the walking-shopping streets and all central sights. Good typical Portuguese hotel breakfast. The staff was fantastic as is usual in Portugal!

Review 47:The difficulty of getting a parking space near the hotel (spaces right across the hotel only available at night) and having to carry our luggage.

Review 48:The location, friendly staff and breakfast.

Review 49:The room was rather small for a 4-star hotel. Parking facilities not easy to find, although the hotel is providing you with information beforehand thereon.

Review 50:Excellent location in Braga, staff very helpful, very good breakfast. The room and the bathroom were really nice, although the room was rather small for a 4-star hotel.

Review 51:Room decor a little outdated. A little expensive for what you get.

Review 52:Very well located, clean. Breakfast was good. They only have 4 parking spots but we had no problem finding a spot nearby.

Review 53:Only a small thing and very subjective. The furnishings in the bedroom, which had obviously been well coordinated, were too dark for the room and made the room quite oppressive - lighter colours and a bit of art work would have made the room feel fresher. As the room was at the back there was no need for the sheer curtains, when the windows were open it was much brighter but obviously with a/c on this wasn't an option.

Review 54:Very helpful front office staff. Super base from which to explore the city. Very good value for money, particularly as we were fortunate to secure one of the free parking spaces.

Review 55:Beautiful spacious bathroom with 2 washbasins but the ultra-modern tap was very awkward to operate in the shower.

Review 56:Great location. Very quiet with little street noise even at the front of the hotel, and yet it is only a few minutes walk from the centre. Full length windows which gave good views. Relaxing atmosphere and attractive decor throughout hotel. Excellent breakfast in terms of quality and variety, including espresso coffee.

Review 57:Car parking could be difficult. my sat nav directions werent great.

Review 58:Location right in the centre of Braga. rooms clean, stylish and minimalist. breakfast really nice.

Review 59:The 4 star hotel is central situated at Jardim da Avenida Central. The restaurant, which serves the breakfast buffet, is at the ground floor, you can have lunch and dinner, too. The reception has 24 hour service and there is an elevator. Rooms are comfortable, the bathroom is big, and beds are good. TV could be bigger, but we where there for the Sao Jao festival and had no need for a TV. Rooms facing the backyard are quieter, but the grilled sardines are really smelly...but you can use the air-condition. The people at Hotel Bracara Augusta are helpfully and really nice. Thank you, that we were able to use a free parking lot! See you next time.

Review 60:A very nice hotel in the center of Braga. Highly recommendable - and with a cosy Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant

Review 61:Not sure why this is rated 4 stars as the rooms are very basic. But very clean though.

Review 62:Very friendly hotel and great location

Review 63:Not

Review 64:Very good location ,also quiet. Very clean and modern interiors . The breakfast was good .The right spot to start exploring Braga :)

Review 65:Rather "small Portuguese beds" for large Western Europeans....

Review 66:City Center, walking distance, price-quality,

Review 67:Friendly staff, close proximity to cafes, shops, bars, restaurants . Lots to do in surrounding area.

Review 82:The room was big, sauna and indoor swimming pool nice and relaxing, breakfast really good.
