Reviews for Timbers Motel
Review 1:The room was very cold when we checked in. We turned the heat on high, but needed to request additional blanket. About 3:00 AM the room was finally warm.
Review 2:The bathroom was modern and had lots of hot water.
Review 3:The staff was very helpful and the room was really nice and clean. It was also in the center of town and close to good restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay.
Review 4:There really isn't much of a breakfast, but it wasn't hard to find a cheap place to grab a bite before heading out of town
Review 5:The location was perfect and the room had a nice modern feel.
Review 6:City workers cranked up weed blowers at 7:30am both mornings, right across the street.
Review 7:Remodeled rooms were great value for a motel in this price range.
Review 8:We stayed four nights. We were required to prepay for all four nights. The third night, the staff rented to one or more persons who held a night long party. It lasted from 11:30 pm until about 7:30 am making it impossible to sleep. We asked for a refund for that night and did not receive it.
Review 9:We liked the central location.
Review 10:We had to pay a $20 charge on arrival for our dog, which wasn't mentioned anywhere. Also, the 'free breakfast' consists of bagels, a toaster, and bitter coffee without real cream.
Review 11:The location was perfect, and the room was nice with hardwood floors. Good shower.
Review 12:Old fashioned motel so rooms are small however the facility is clean and maintained in perfect condition. Friendly staff, good breakfast but nothing fancy. Still, such a treat that we will be back here next time we are in Eugene
Review 13:Because the floors are laminate, if you're downstairs, you get to listen to EVERYTHING the people above you are doing. EVERYTHING. Made for a very long night.
Review 14:There was a lot of shouting in the morning and banging around from cleaners. Hotel note:- people come here to sleep!!!!
Review 15:It was very clean and spacious. Well located for shops and bars etc.
Review 16:I liked that it was not expensive and was across the street from the Greyhound bus station because that was the reason for the selection. The heater was excellent, the bed comfortable and the shower excellent
Review 17:No black tea available! Mediocre minimal breakfast. Had lower floor and when people walked upstairs it was pretty noisy and they weren't being noisy in the least. Over-all minor negatives. Although right across from the street from Greyhound Bus Station... no issues or problems or extra noise because of this.
Review 18:Charming room, very clean, within a few blocks of downtown. Bathroom ventilation iimpressive, good water pressure, plenty of hot water, comfortable mattresses. A few minor negatives but a good choice.
Review 19:We were in a downstairs room and therefore heard every step of the upstairs occupant - and everything else too. Bed was not as comfortable as others we have slept in, and the fact that it was on rollers added additional challenges. Lukewarm was the best we could do with the shower - not good! Prices fluctuate greatly depending on the Ducks' schedule, and we paid the price accordingly.
Review 20:Nostalgic Eugene spot, nicely updated with tile bath, wood floors, and flat screen. Good location for UO activities. Beautiful hanging flower baskets and friendly staff.
Review 21:parking lot is a little tight when maneuvering an RV - still doable - just a little tight
Review 22:Was perfect for what we needed. Clean and everyone was friendly
Review 23:At first we were a little apprehensive due to the location by the bus station, but we're pleasantly surprised at the nice, clean room with a very comfy bed. Staff was nice & helpful as well with suggestions for things to do & places to eat. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 24:No bad experience. The sink in our room wouldn't drain but we did not feel that it was important enough to mention until the next morning because our bath/shower worked perfectly so we used that instead. The staff in the morning was so kind when we mentioned it and were very apologetic, Saying that they would have been happy to move us to a different room or have maintenance come in that night to fix it. Plumbing things happen! And it should not reflect badly on an establishment when it does pose an issue. I have nothing but great things to say about our stay at Timbers Motel.
Review 25:The place was SO CLEAN, and this comes from a a professional cleaner. It was not brand new but they obviously take pride in their motel and that was much appreciated. And we were upgraded to a room with a bigger bed just because it was "open." That was just plain awesome. :)
Review 26:the bed was too hard. As seniors we are always hoping for a comfortable bed. We hardly ever find one unless we are willing to spend $200.00 per night which really is a budget killer for us.
Review 27:the location for our stay was perfect. the room was very nice. the fellow who checked us in was very nice.
Review 28:Breakfast isn't really a breakfast. Just store-bought bagels and fruit. Not enough room in lobby to eat; ned to take food back to the room. Don't count on this to be what you'd expect from other hotels that offer free breakfast.
Review 29:Private, exceptionally clean, quiet, centrally located, comfortable
Review 30:The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was great...well laid out and nicely decorated. Although the location is downtown, it was quiet and easy to access.
Review 31:Each night there were people outside of room talking really loud for a long time. Maybe 2 hrs. They also smoked and the smell came in our room.
Review 32:Location great. Flowers great
Review 33:Staff was friendly--especially housekeeping. The young man at the front desk told us this location was close to a off-leash dog park which was terrific. We really appreciated his information.
Review 34:I booked the about 3 mos in advance, booked a king size bed. When we got there they gave us a key to the room, someone already had our room. Ended up with queen sized bed, was like they wasn't even concerned about it.
Review 35:Location, clean
Review 36:We were woken one night thinking someone was trying to get into our room..however it was someone walking around in the room above us. Hardwood floors are lovely but noisey.
Review 37:It was the perfect location for where we needed to go and do in Eugene. The bed was comfortable and the decor was very cool...with a hint of retro yet modern. Wifi was excellent. The rooms can be a little on the dark side with not much natural light but it didn't bother us too much as there was plenty of lights in the room. The staff were very friendly however we only found out about the breakfast facilities in the lobby when we were checking out...so a little more information on checking in would've been helpful.
Review 38:The continental breakfast is served in the office and there is little room for more than 4 people. This wasn't a big deal for us as we usually take our son out for breakfast when we are there.
Review 39:We like the way the rooms have been updated and cared for ( only know about the king size rooms). The location and price are right!
Review 40:Breakfast barely qualified as a continental breakfast.
Review 41:Large room with 2 queens. Bathroom situated such that lights did not affect sleepers. Very quiet even though close to campus (but this was during break).
Review 42:It was a warm weekend and the A/C didn't work properly so the room was always hot. I called and they said they fixed it but it still didn't cool down the room. I imagine that most of the year that's fine but not so much in June.
Review 43:It was quiet. Rooms were clean and some have been modernized. It was a peaceful stay.
Review 44:Nothing...everything was great!
Review 45:The location was great for us! We came for our Granddaughters Birthday party, it was great getting in and out of town.
Review 46:Pillow was too thick; free breakfast offerings were minimal and didn't start till 7 a.m.
Review 47:Easy walk to downtown activities; safe & quiet location; super clean room and friendly staff - Zak was great!
Review 48:The front desk guy was a little awkward, not judgment it was just borderline uncomfortable. Be he was nice!
Review 49:My fiancé and I, stayed here this was my second time and before the room was ok, nothing special, however we got one if the recently remodeled rooms and it was fabulous, exactly what a couple gay boys want to see a decent price for a fabulous room!
Review 50:Breakfast was pretty slim pickins, but still nice to have it.
Review 51:Super comfortable and updated in such a cute, lodge-like motif. Outside nothing to brag about, except their flower pots are gorgeous! Rooms are super cute with high-end updates, including a rain shower head and wooden ceiling beams!
Review 52:There's not much to dislike - we didn't bother with the "breakfast" which is really just a few snacks. The coffee, however, really was terrible - don't even try it!
Review 53:Wonderful, helpful staff. A well-maintained older hotel that is in a great downtown location; simple, clean, comfortable, no fuss, can't be beat for the money.
Review 54:The air conditioner didn't work very well.
Review 55:Very quiet, clean and updated. In the heart of the small downtown area, so we could walk to many things.
Review 56:Slow Wi_Fi
Review 57:Walking distance to UofO, downtown & riverwalk. Staff had good food suggestions and knew everything about Eugene that we asked. We will definitely stay there again & send all our friends!
Review 58:There was nothing I didn't like about my stay...
Review 59:The location was great. Close to where we needed to be for the next day. The price of the room was also a plus!! The flooring was unexpected, very homey feeling. Never stayed in a Motel before...will definitely be staying there again!
Review 60:Were led to believe we would receive a full, hot breakfast, but got bananas, packaged bagels and cold muffins.
Review 61:While the location is cramped and crammed into the downtown area, the folks in charge appear to be doing the best they can to keep the rooms, furnishings and equipment in nice condition. The work to liven up the grounds with plants and flowers is also nice.
Review 62:Not a bad experience, but the room was a bit dark without any overhead lighting.
Review 63:This is the second time I have stayed here in last few months. I stayed in the same room as last time. I like the location and the friendly staff. It is right on edge of downtown and an easy walk to the convention center.
Review 64:Still a old motel. Down stair rooms can hear people walking above. Doors/locks need to be updated. Value for money spent was not there. Room was way overpriced for quality. Would have been a good value for 20% less.
Review 65:Updated a classic motel. It was nice room if it had been in the right price point.
Review 66:I was unsure about staying in a motel , but it was great . Quiet..very clean ...crisp white sheets... TV ..hot powerful shower and all in all a great stay
Review 67:I like everything about the Timbers. The location is the absolute best - just a few blocks from Starbucks, VooDoo Donuts, and the rest of downtown Eugene. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud!
Review 68:can't say anything bad, check in was fast and easy...check out was even faster ,because they took care of everything at check in, just left key in room so nicely ran
Review 69:We attended a concert at McDonald Theater, Timbers is one block away loved the location and room was so clean it shined even the ceiling....love the wood..gives a comforting feel. small queen room was all we needed.only their to sleep.
Review 70:Since a key is actually used versus a swipe card to enter the room, the lock on the door was older and less sturdy than a larger deadbolt lock. Although there were no issues, it would be nice to have an additional security lock.
Review 71:Although the exterior is older, this is not reflective of the room, which was recently remodeled. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy to find and good location downtown.
Review 72:Great location and a great deal for the money. Wasn't expecting much from a Motel especially at this price but was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean, bed was comfy free Parking and you are pretty well downtown. Was able to walk wherever I needed to go.
Review 73:There wasn't anything I didn't like about our stay. I did notice that some of the rooms in the downstairs portion of the hotel were pretty dark. I'd probably want to stay away from those...
Review 74:Loved the bed--usually it's the least favorite part of any trip, but this one was delicious and comfy. Also loved our room, which had high beamed ceilings, and made us feel like there was a lot more space than there actually was. The shower was also great, which is something we really appreciated.
Review 75:The bedding was lacking and the carpet and the upholsterd chair needed a good cleaning. The free breakfast wasn't much to speak of. It seemed that the pet fee was a little high at $20 for a small dog.
Review 76:Good location, it's convenient to everthing, restraurrants and shopping. They are in a fairly quite of an area. The room and bathroom were clean.
Review 77:The carpet needed to be update and that's all.
Review 78:I liked how the room is set up, it was very spacious and the lighting was amazing. I was really surprised that there was a microwave, refrigerator and nice flats screen, tv.
Review 79:I had a great experience staying here. The staff, and Zach in particular, were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My room was small but very comfortable. The motel is right on the edge of downtown and I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go. I will definitely stay here again.
Review 80:It was a pleasant surprise to use a regular key to access my contemporary room! It was clean, furnished tastefully, close to my destination, great bargin!!! I loved it and will recommend wholeheartedly! This place is a gem!!
Review 81:The motel is close to the bus station and next to a bank with construction all around... no biggie, just don't go out at night!
Review 82:We wanted to be downtown so we could walk around and visit the shops, like 5th Street Market. I was very pleased with the hardwood flooring! No nasty carpet... the room was very clean and nicely updated.
Review 83:I was in a ground floor room in the corner so it was a little dark. The beds are squeaky so I could hear every move made in the bed above me. Also the upstairs bathroom fan is very loud which vibrated my room.
Review 84:The room has everything a traveler needs. The updated decor is very nice and it was very clean and comfortable.
Review 85:Some street noise from buses and cars.
Review 86:We were pleasantly surprised by this motel. Not only was the room nicely maintained but we were able to walk to several restaurants in the area. I would stay here again.
Review 87:the young man that took over the morning service should not be in a job dealing with people. This person was the worst person to have dealing with the public than I have experienced in some time. I will not stay their and I will tell all my business travelers to never stay at your location again rate this stay at neg 100000
Review 88:Noise from unit above is very evident. Not much to absorb sound between floors. Get 2nd floor unit.
Review 89:Clean, large flat-screen TV, micro and refrig in unit. Easy internet access.
Review 90:Was traveling with two small dogs, would have been nice to have a place to potty them that wasn't on the street.
Review 91:Room was great, very homey feeling, loved the wood floors and ceilings.
Review 92:Room very small and no real amenities. Left too early for breakfast but not much offered and no breakfast area.
Review 93:All we needed was a bed because we were taking an early morning flight. Timbers was quiet and clean and bed comfortable. I liked the hardwood floors. Seems to make a lot of sense. Motel is right across street from bus depot and good restaurants about 5-6 blocks. Neighborhood seemed safe but we were in motel by 6:30 pm.
Review 94:everything good!! no complaints
Review 95:after staying at super 8 on the highway, we felt we were in heaven. didnt expect the beautiful pine floors and super clean and warm. great location to walk to events and old town. thank you!!
Review 96:Breakfast was very poor. Would have been better if a chit (say $6.00) at a nearby restaurant were offered.
Review 97:Most everything ....laminate flooring was great. It cut down on having to clean carpets.
Review 98:Room needed an alarm clock.
Review 99:I loved the location and the beautiful hanging flowers. My room was very clean and I loved the wood floors. I found the breakfast that was offered to be very good.
Review 100:Don't really have anything negative to say about this motel. It's a good value for the money.
Review 101:We arrived about 11 am. We were traveling on scooters and wanted to check in early, so we could unload the bikes and explore Eugene. The manager at the desk was extremely kind in letting us do so at this very early hour. Room was modest, but very comfortable, with coffee maker, microwave & fridge.
Review 102:Pet friendly but $20 /night for each one, not much grass around, but glad we could stay with our furry kids
Review 103:Beyond comfy beds, wood floors, great decor, a change from the usual motel designs. Fridge, micro, table for eating at, good size bathroom & closet area. Sad to leave, only there for one night. ...pet friendly.....
Review 104:They should add more breakfast options.
Review 105:Excellent downtown location with number of restaurants closeby. Hotel rooms are spacious, comfortable and peaceful.
Review 106:The refrigerator in room 107 did not work to expectations. Had to fiddle around with the plug and controls to make it work.
Review 107:Walking distance to many stores and wi-fi that worked.
Review 108:We were really impressed by the Timbers. It is extremely well taken care of, decorated beautifully, very comfortable and an excellent value. Great location as well. We will definitely stay there again if we get back to Eugene.
Review 109:Only thing needed was a better continental breakfast.. not much to choose from......Warm orange juice nothing hot..
Review 110:The room was great . Nice bed. Slept well being in the middle of town.
Review 111:Had to walk a few blocks to a restaurant. Not familiar with Eugene so took the desk manager's tip on where to eat. It was ok.
Review 112:Looks to be remodeled and up to date. Beautiful wooden floors and ceilings. Very comfortable bed. Clean.
Review 113:Our room looked to be newly renovated and I noticed other rooms were not as nice as ours.
Review 114:After a long drive Timber offered cozy beds with an ample amount of pillows, great showerheads, laundryroom, and quiet nights rest even though we were located in the heart of downtown!
Review 115:Not much to dislike at the Timbers
Review 116:All was in order, the check-in was easy and the clerk friendly. Room was all that was needed and it was quiet in the back of the motel and on the second floor. Close to good places to eat and drink, and a nice stroll down to the river for a great walk. Close to Uni as well.
Review 117:It's not a room I would hang out in, but we did ask for a smaller room. The location, the access and the fact that the whole place is so well maintained makes it a great place for a short stop in Eugene.
Review 118:Timbers has been kept up over it's many years. Flowers abound hung from the eaves and all around the perimeter. Bathrooms are small but well maintained. Mattress was comfy with nice sheets. There was a large flat screen TV, an AC and everything squeaky clean.
Review 119:Rooms were perfectly clean, beds were supremely comfortable, wi-fi was fast, the management has flowers planted everywhere so it's like staying in a garden. Close to per-friendly shopping and restaurants. Plus, the doors have this cool "do not disturb/maid clean now" dial on the doors. Not so much retro as original. Staff friendly and helpful, and they include a nice continental breakfast with the room.
Review 120:Staff members were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable. The motel was located in downtown Eugene and near many restaurants and shops. The room was very comfortable.
Review 121:The shower in the bathroom backed up continually. The drains need to be cleaned regularly so that this won't happen~
Review 122:My daughter and I loved the flowers everywhere! And we really liked the wood flooring in our room. Bed was comfortable and the room was laid out nicely~
Review 123:Other lodgers were inconsiderately noisy; not the fault of the management. Earplugs are a good idea just in case.
Review 124:These folks have a mature building that they've kept clean, functional and have furnished the large-ish rooms pleasingly. I especially appreciate no filthy bedspread but a clean, crisp, WASHABLE sheet covering the bed. The grounds were ablaze with gorgeous flowers in beds and baskets when we stayed in June. The location is fantastic for shops & restaurants in a short walking distance. For $89 a night this is a great place. And they'll take dogs ($20 per critter).
Review 125:Nothing bad, would just like a noon check out.
Review 126:Large clean room with flat screen TV, microwave and fridge. Nice downtown location.
Review 127:Motel 6 probably would have been almost as good at less price
Review 128:Room was small
Review 129:UNiue decor
Review 130:Friendly very helpful
Review 131:Location
Review 132:Rooms were newly redecorated, looked nicer than outside.
