Review 1：HVAC system was loud. It was further from Duke Univ then represented (though still pretty close).

Review 2：couldn't beat the price.... included breakfast which was decent.

Review 5：Poor hot water flow and consistency- never got really warm and kept cutting out. Poor bathroom design- toilet stuck out in middle. Hallway carpet very outdated. Elevators slow and stinky.

Review 7：The property is dirty: trash and cigarette butts everywhere. Toilets do not flush properly., hot water in shower goes cold in the middle then hot again, staff seems to be put out to assist guests and then they openly gossip about coworkers and other guests. GM is rarely on premises and office manager avoids addressing of issues directly with guests. Very unprofessional and unmanaged property. Front desk staff even feels comfortable asking to barrow money from guests for their personal enjoyment. This property is more of a halfway house than a mid-range hotel. It was so difficult that I went next door to the Homewood suites and paid more for the next weeks stay and was over joyed to do so. Housekeeping doesn't even knock or announce themselves BEFORE entering an occupied room. It happened twice and no apology or even recognition of my complaint when by management. Pay the extra money and stay next door at the Homewood Suites by Hilton!

Review 9：Reception staff were very helpful (e.g., giving directions to local restaurant & office depot). The breakfast was good. Very nice to have a complimentary newspaper available on a daily basis on weekdays (do not know about Sunday). Though I did not get to use it, I was glad that the pool was still open. If I had had more time and the weather was a few degrees warmer I would have enjoyed a swim outdoors.

Review 10：A very strong odor in the halls and even stronger in the bedroom. Seemed they were trying to mask an offensive odor with s huge dose of fragrant room freshmen. It was almost unbearable. Considered leaving but rooms hard to find during this time

Review 12：The only thing we didn't like was that the bathroom door is too close to the toilet but that's not anything anyone could do to help with that haha so, no problems! It would also be nice if they offered some sort of small discount to people staying for surgery the following morning, since we check out early and aren't allowed to eat so we don't cost you any money as far as breakfast goes all though it looked wonderful ;)

Review 13：We and my husband had to stay in town so I could be to duke hospital early in the morning for a surgery that I had. I am disabled and on oxygen with breathing problems at the moment and when we checked in, they switched and gave us the closest available room to the side entrance so I didn't have to walk far at all. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and overall niceness of the room!

Review 14：The people the location was right next to public transportation. The breakfast was decent. Most importantly the people was friendly, kind and very nice.

Review 15：The service was great. The people were great. The carpet not so much. It smelled horrible. The room had a bad odor. I literally had to go to Walmart and purchase some carpet deodorizer. Additionally I purchased some scented sachet too make our room spell better.

Review 32：- The only negative thing about my stay was that the double bed was too small. I would recommend that the hotel consider updating the rooms to at least, one Queen and one double, in a 2 bed room, to accommodate even the average sized adults. I am only 5'8", and my feet were hanging off the bottom of the bed !!!!

Review 35：Maid service would knock on door before 9:00 daily. Walls were thin and we could hear loud people above and in the hallway. Mostly old folks and construction workers were staying here and breakfast was so packed you couldn't move, never mind that the food was DISGUSTING. Like not edible. Many staff members could not even communicate and were very awkward, although front desk attendant was great. Water in shower would only get luke warm.

Both requests were attended promptly. Although noise insulation was not great (I could hear when people spoke loudly on the hallway), guests were considerate and I was able to sleep very well. The place was comfortable for a hotel of its category.

Review 43：The room was clean and quiet, no horror stories of anything broken or messed up or smelly. Breakfast was great with both hot and cold choices. We were there 4 days and couldn't have been happier! After a hectic day visiting it felt good to come back to the room knowing we'd be comfortable.

Review 47：The desk chairs are set to a height where your chin hits the desk. Mine had a loose back that almost pitched back on to the floor. When I asked the front desk for a replacement they told me all the chairs were like that. They did send a different chair that was the same un-adjustable height, but did have a more stable back.
