Reviews for Port Mill Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:From the time we walked into reception and we left the staff member was lovely. The room was great, will definately recommend to others and will come back to stay again. :-)
Review 2:I was there for both buisness and leisure--first 5 days I was there for a conference. My partner joined me for the weekend. I found your B&B worked well for both overall. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was amazing and the breakfast cafe was cute and also well-located. My only recommendation would be with regards to the wifi which for business purposes was a little slow and I had some difficulty sending documents online. However, overall everything was awesome. A very cute little place. I will definately recommend and I would stay again should the opportunity ever arise. Thank you!
Review 3:Everything was perfect until the last minute. We were late for check out a view minutes and good a very rude attack from the cleaning staff. Ruined somehow the extremely good feeling and the stay went from perfect to good only.
Review 4:Very nice location, very nice building and rooms. The decoration is extremely tasteful and though through in every detail. Definitely a recommendation.
Review 5:Stair case to our room, not actually a bad point but you wouldn't want to be tackling them if you were too drunk or had physical health issues.
Review 6:Quaint little room, we stayed in the room on the second floor called "Batavia" for one night. Was like being in Europe, great place very secure, will deffinately be staying there again.
Review 7:Rather tiny room, wooden floor boards mean you heard the steps from above.
Review 8:Very nice building in a beautiful setting, felt like being in Italy! excellent location.
Review 9:Access, not suitable for everyone. Rather steep stairs to negotiate.very poor reception hours, never anyone around.
Review 10:Location very central to everything, very quite area, walking distance to most attractions Freo markets at the end of the street.
Review 11:There was no iron available so we couldn't wear the clothes we took for our dinner. There was a tapping noise all night, possibly an upstairs or downstairs fan
Review 12:great location and Tuscan feel. Breakfast voucher was a great option
Review 13:Could do with a bigger fridge. It was a bit un-nerving having an unlocked bathroom door that opened into the corridor.
Review 14:The location was fabulous. The bed was lovely and comfortable. Voucher for $20 breakfast was good. Decent coffee bags in the room rather than that horrid instant stuff.
Review 15:Fan in the bathroom extremely noisy. This would not have been an issue if the fan didn't come on automatically each time you switched the bathroom light on regardless if you were having a shower or not. Not a huge issue but probably worth mentioning.
Review 16:The location , staff and breakfast. Comfortable room. Provisions of orange juice, fresh milk and fruit was a nice touch.
Review 17:Location and you feel you could be in France or Italy when you sit in the french winebar . The touches you don't get in a hotel, fresh fruits and a jar of biscuits all add to the experience.
Review 18:Quite noisy in morning from room above us. Shower not brill No coffee
Review 19:Fab location, romantic little balcony overlooking lovely courtyard. Staff even had us a bottle of sparkling chilling in cooler in room on arrival-it was both of our birthdays on day we arrived!
Review 20:It is such a charming place situated in the middle of everything we wanted to do. The room was comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking the courtyard. The breakfast was great and the staff friendly and very helpful.
Review 21:stayed in a very small, uncomfortable, extremely noisy attic room that consisted of 2 single beds pushed together. It was only when we complained about the excessive noise during the night (unable to sleep), we were moved to a substantially better room, which was vacant the entire time we were there. In fact, we were the only occupants of the B@B, and yet we were placed in this awful, uncomfortable (noisy) attic room which was supposed to overlook a terrace. In fact, the room looked out onto a brick wall and clothes line!
Review 22:location
Review 23:No towels in room, eventually resolved but took some time and some telephone chasey since no manager on site. Supposedly free wifi but no access code anywhere that we could find, and again, no-one to ask without phoning (and since we already phoned about the kack of towels, didn't want to keep phoning for every little thing). Washing machine leaked badly all over bathroom floor. Quite a drainy smell in bathroom, immediately noticeable, plugging bath drain helped.
Review 24:Beautiful building in a fabulous location. Compact but nicely furnished room. Large bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Excellent breakfast off-site at a nearby cafe.
Review 25:The wifi connection was frustratingly slow - not great when on business a long way from home. But the only thing I really didn't like was having to leave Fremantle - what a great town.
Review 26:A return trip to Port Mill and once again delighted with the service and comfort. If they could only get a reliable and speedy wifi system sorted out this [place would be 10+ for me. The breakfast vouchers for Ruebens were a new thing - and excellent - you need to try that cafe food and coffee. Thanks to my Port Mill hosts - see you again in September.
Review 27:Nothing to complain about. Dedicated parking, close by, would have been a bonus.
Review 28:A picturesque and romantic setting, ideally situated for the cappuccino strip but peaceful and private. The quirky breakfast cafe across the street was fun.
Review 29:Didn't see anyone to get the password for WiFi but that was all....
Review 30:It was this quaint little place right in the heart of Fremantle with lots of character....
Review 31:Nobody about all the time, and states check out between 10:30-11:30, nobody again was about to check out.
Review 32:Room was great, apart from the view on the balcony, a brick wall!!!
Review 33:Absence of anyone on premises Locked front gate and need for keys to get anywhere lots of narrow stairs
Review 34:bathroom was clean and a good size. breakfast vouchers worked well with cafe across road
Review 35:Only negative was on the 2nd night we could hear from somewhere a TV droning in the background- needed to get up & find some ear plugs! Otherwise would happily stay there again.
Review 36:Excellent location & the little extras such as a lovely selection of teas in the bedroom & fresh cake left in the afternoon
Review 37:Difficult to park anywhere near during peak times- and expensive parking when available
Review 38:Lovely location and well appointed rooms. Loved the brekky voucher for Two Rubens
Review 39:If you have a car there is no dedicated parking for the b & b. Park at Wilson undercover over night. That was a small inconvenience.
Review 40:I liked the location. In the heart of Fremantle. Everywhere walking distance or free tourist bus. Only met one staff at book in, then no one. That's ok.Breakfast was nice across the road. Good value package with the breakfast included.
Review 41:Parking is a bit of an issue - they say you can park at the local Italian Club but there was nobody to check this with at the club or at our reception. Other paid parking is available but adds up and metered street parking is for 2 hours only up to 5 pm.
Review 42:Gorgeous old limestone building with lovely shared courtyard. Small but comfortable room. $20 breakfast voucher per person for local cafe more than adequate - and also basic breakfast provisions in room.
Review 43:We booked a room with a balcony as the rooms face inward to an open courtyard garden which the balconies overlook. We didn't realise that internal balcony meant a balcony that was on the outside facing the wall of the building next door. We were extremely disappointed. They need to be more clear with their description.
Review 44:Great position as it is very central and secure.
Review 45:The courtyard and villas are a welcome and peaceful retreat in Fremantle. The service was excellent and the banana bread and cake treats daily were an enjoyable extra touch that makes an afternoon tea a relaxing part of the day.
Review 46:Sorry can not think of anything.
Review 47:Comfortable, small, informal and very close to all that was going on in Fremantle. Parking in public car park was fine, and easy walk to ferry for Rottnest Island. Breakfast across the road was very relaxed. Wi Fi was better than the far more expensive hotels.
Review 48:Would be good to have onsite parking.
Review 49:Right in the centre of Freo but very quiet. Beautiful rooms complete with washer & dryer and a light breakfast.
Review 50:Not the accomodations fault, but parking was a pain. A few brochures on whats on and what to do left in the foyer would be handy.
Review 51:Loved the location as close to centre of everything. Breakfast in Two Rubens cafe a delight. And light breakfast supplied in room also. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room and bathroom kept extremely clean.View of the courtyard with a glass of wine and some cheese in the afternoon sun, so relaxing.
Review 52:Parking is a continuous problem but you have to accept that with the location. Strange there us no contact after checking in with the owner. You would expect that with a B&B. Felt bit odd.
Review 53:The location was great the breakfast whether continental or across the road.loved the paved courtyard and limestone building.
Review 54:I could hear everything the two people upstairs were saying and could hear when they got out of bed at any point in time. Also, the hot water can get scary hot. Some sort of a notice about that would have been good.
Review 55:I loved the location, the bed, the balcony, the size of the bathroom and the private washer and dryer in my unit.
Review 56:Breakfast arrangements are a bit unusual. Coupons are given for a breakfast place opposite that serves a very nice cooked breakfast. But that place is closed sometimes, and slow. The B&B does provide breakfast materials within the room though, as a backup if there are problems.
Review 57:The rooms were good, there was a lot of free stuff provided ,the staff were helpful. It is a very good place to stay for vacationing, and a reasonable option for business travellers.
Review 58:The hallway was a bit dark, lighting in the wrong position when trying to put key into lock.
Review 59:Had a lovely "quaint" feeling and enjoyed the balcony sipping a lovely Gin & Tonic.
Review 60:Would of loved a bath tub in our room
Review 61:I absolutely loved the place I've walked passed this place plenty of time when going to the fremantle markets. Close to everything Rooms where small but we were out exploring fremantle all the time Food vouchers to the local cafe (two Rubens) amazing quality food and coffee
Review 62:Cake of soap in hand basin would be nice
Review 63:Location, ambience, presentation and layout were in keeping with the character of century plus old building in a town of the same age. Staff were efficient but seemed to be there if needed. Room was well presented, very clean and had a great outlook.
Review 64:We were happy with everything!
Review 65:Great location, walking distance to nearly everywhere in Fremantle. Loved the breakfast voucher ($20 voucher per person to a cafe across the road, excellent breakfast!) Great service - we were well looked after, staff were friendly and communicated well.
Review 66:Was not available when I wanted to book the fourth time around.
Review 67:Location. Conveniently located near markets, cappuccino strip, restaurants and bars. Breakfast voucher for use a love little cafe across the street "The Four Reubens." Cozy little patio overlooking a lovely fountain and garden. Nice place to sip a cuppa and listen to Fremantle come to life. Located next to Whisper's Wine Bar. Nice fresh fruit baskets and biscuits in the room.
Review 68:we were very unhappy about the car parking issue. There was no parking if you had a car, which most people would have and usually if a place doesn't have parking they usually offer you some help as to where you are to park your car. The person at the front desk was of no help when it came to parking the car. When we did find a place it was extremely expensive to park it over night and also throughout the day.
Review 69:It was great location, close to restaurants and shops.
Review 70:Nothing
Review 71:The staff went over and above to ensure we had a wonderful 7th wedding anniversary by giving us bubbly and fruit platters
Review 72:Love the European feel.
Review 73:Close to everything in Freo
Review 74:lovely interior and house

Review 77:Staff on reception very helpful and friendly . Location great .
Review 78:Great location, so close to all off Fremantle's attractions. Court yard is a beautiful setting, staff very helpful.
Review 79:The uniqueness of the property, thought I was in Italy. Thankyou for the experience.
Review 80:Atmosphere, location, cafe for breakfast, sitting on the balcony
Review 81:the rooms fitting out - lovely furniture and little extras like fruit and juice in the fridge
Review 82:Could hear people above walking around
Review 83:Location, lovely old world decor
Review 84:Friendly staff. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. The included breakfast at Two Ruben's across the street was superb.
Review 85:Excellent room and location. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 86:Only issue was parking
Review 87:Score says it all, great location, lovely facilities and good staff. Only there 1 night as all we had available.
Review 88:As a single traveller I get tired of being in a back room with little view
Review 89:The location
Review 90:Comfortable room, nice inclusions (tea, coffee, cookies, fruit). Great included breakfast at cafe across the road.
Review 91:24 hours before I saw a staff member.
Review 92:Quiet ambience.
Review 93:Shower head needs replacing!
Review 94:Great location - so quiet and yet so close to the heart of Freo!
Review 95:Will stay again whenever we visit Fremantle
Review 96:Felt so welcomed and staff went above and beyond what they needed to to make my stay a good one. Unlike an executive hotel felt very at home there.
Review 97:No bad experience although stairs were a bit of a problem with our large cases

Review 104:Cosy and comfortable for 1 night.
