Reviews for New Emerald Cove Hotel
Review 1:The shower cubicle in 306 must have been designed for a midget!
Review 2:Wonderful getaway! Superbly run facility. Had a most enjoyable stay. Katerina and Georgette need special mentioning in being extremely helpful and accommodating with all the logistics around my stay! Thank you ladies!
Review 3:Inconvenient shuttle and restaurant services/schedules. The food was disappointing; the taste and selection (buffet style breakfast and dinner) was hardly palatable and over-priced even for the Seychelles. The resort makes it inconvenient to impossible to eat off grounds due to the shuttle schedule (unless you pay $$$ for a private shuttle) and very limited hours of operation of the restaurant. The rooms were small and shower was tiny. Excursion options were limited. WIFI worked well, but only in restaurant and reception.
Review 4:The snorkeling and grounds are beautiful. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Giant land tortoises on the grounds were a pleasant surprise.
Review 5:Quite difficult to get to other areas in Seychelles especially if traveling with children. Rooms could of been furnished better for a 4 star hotel.
Review 6:Very nice and friendly staff! Very mobile Location with beautiful nature.
Review 7:Service was something from average to - at times - poor, except the bartender, who had a good attitude :) Hotel in general is not a four star hotel, and is overpriced. But if you book this hotel for the location, you probably wont get disappointed.
Review 8:Hotel and rooms are OK, rooms are nothing special, but comfortable and clean. The location is perfect, beach is beautiful and snorkelling is possible right in front of the hotel. Nice trekking path in the forest also.
Review 9:Food is rather average and repetitive after a week but one can ask for special dishes and they serve with pleasure. Restaurant closed between lunch and dinner. Upper level rooms have no veranda.
Review 10:No real advertising but most likely the best snorkling place across all the nearby islands. Lovely complex surounded by nature and perfect for an excellent chillax. The two gentlemen from Sri Lanka who made a difference in the service. A problem with shower was solved in no time.
Review 11:Great location, awesome staff, really amazing for snorkeling, delicious food. Really a brilliant place even with our 7 month old child, definitely would be going back.
Review 12:Familial atmosphere, friendly restaurant and bar staff. Great location.
Review 13:Nothing
Review 14:Very friendly staff. Maximum service. Day trips by boat.
Review 15:The setting, the privacy on 'my' beach, the food, the Creole Night, secluded but best for complete relaxation.I'd absolutely recommend it to people who want to get away from civilization but also need the comfort of it
Review 16:Our entire stay at Emerald Cove was abismal from start to finish. We emailed the hotel three times regarding a shuttle service prior to arriving and we never received any response. We had to rely on a taxi man at the ferry port to direct us on what we needed to do to get to the hotel. On arrival, we were greated by an Italian lady and after a long winded introduction (which was unwelcome after such a long journey) told us we should pay in full straight away. This is the first time we have ever been asked to pay in full (out of hundreds of hotels worldwide) before ever setting foot in our room. This set the tone for the entire visit as the hotel seemed to pride themselves on finding new and innovative ways to extract money from their unfortunate guests. We were shocked at the dismal, dark and dank room we were shown to, I'd feel guilty leaving animals there not to mind expecting people to holiday in them. The bed linen was old and beyond damp to wet due to the humidity, lighting was non existent, aircon was unbelievably noisy which made it hard to sleep if turned on, mosquito net was torn and stained, we were frequently visited by lizards due to vents not properly closing in numerous locations. One bottle of water to share was the only thing we received complimentary for the whole stay. On one occasion, i needed to print a work document urgently but was informed that there was a charge per sheet which in my opinion is laughable that a hotel would dream of charging for something like this. The hotel treated each guest like a criminal expecting huge deposits for everything from beach towels to adapters. When we asked if reception could organise a ferry for us, we were informed that 'no, they don't do bookings' and handed the ferry timetable. The restaurant/bar area was infested with pigeons and small birds climbing all over tables, cutlery and plates. This is not just one or two but hundreds of birds aggressively looking for food.
Review 17:Beach was nice.
Review 18:The breakfast was average, the restaurant staff was unattentive.Although the idyllic location, the boat transfer from the jetty israther insuficient.
Review 19:The rooms, the beach, the gardens, the 5pm tea, the check in staff
Review 20:The food was often warm instead of either hot or cold. Although therewere great daily trips to other islands and beaches they were a bitexpensive for us (over 100 Euro/person lunch included though).
Review 21:It is a secluded resort that is not too busy. Even still it is quiteeasy to get to with a free shuttle boat from the nearest ferry port. Thestaff are very friendly, helpful and caring. Although probably not setup for families or children it was a great place for young families. Itis a very protected location so swimming and snorkelling are great allthrough the day and I imagine for most of the year. We loved the resortand would highly recommend it.
Review 22:the pillows, small showers.
Review 23:the beach is superb.
Review 24:the schedule of the boat is not suitable.
