Reviews for Red Roof Plus & Suites Chattanooga - Downtown
Review 1:Upon check-in we discovered dirty bathroom sink, and shower; throw rug next to bed had debris, and floors were not clean. We were moved to another room which could of used some attention. During the night I heard water dripping. I thought it was a faucet drip. Early morning trip to the bathroom I encountered water coming down from upstairs bathroom. It was all over my toiletries and clothing on the vanity. Yuck ! Once again we were moved-back to original room ( this time it was clean to my satisfaction, partially due to my lower expectations at this point). I was compensate for trashed toiletries.
Review 2:I liked that the floors were hardwood rather than the usual carpeting. Excellent water pressure, plenty of parking.
Review 3:We arrived at the hotel at approx 430 and the room we had reserved was not ready even though it was supposed to be a 3 o'clock check-in. Also we were assigned to 3 different rooms until we were able to get comfortable.
Review 4:The location was amazing...just minutes away from most of chattanoogas key tourist sites.
Review 5:You could tell that the rooms have not been well-maintained. The vent grate in the bathroom in our room was unbelievably gross, with what looked like years of grime smeared all over it. The bed was lumpy - maybe the mattress hasn't been changed in 10 years, or what, I don't know - but both of us woke up both mornings with bad backaches.
Review 6:Staff were very helpful and pleasant, even in the wee hours of the night (when we arrived).
Review 7:When I arrived on Wednesday 12/9 my reservation was not in the system. Showed my confirmation and fortunately they had a similar room available. No reservation found.
Review 8:The manager, Karen, not only refused to lift a finger or even put down her soda to try and find answers or solutions to my problems, but she refused to even try to lift herself from her chair to address me directly. I had a 5 night reservation, but due to the unusable WiFi and no ice machines, I decided to check out after the first night. Karen told me that she would not cancel my reservation and that I would be charged for all 5 nights. I called the corporate office and was told that apparently Karen calls all the shots. Very disappointing. Eventually Booking.Com was able to get it cancelled and saved the day. But I will never stay at another Red Roof Inn in my life. If you make the mistake of staying here, and you're unsatisfied with anything, don't expect any help from the staff or corporate office.
Review 9:I found it almost comical that when I went to the front desk to ask where the ice and vending machines were, I was directed to the Super 8 Motel next door! Seriously!
Review 10:the interior hallways need a fresh coat of paint. has a little smell but wasn't bad
Review 11:the rooms had nice decor. fridge, microwave, hardwood floors, sofa. The bed was very comfortable. It was a good price to stay there.
Review 12:I didn't like that the heater didn't work, only blew cold air. I also thought it was weird that on my last night there the clean wash cloths and towels were just sat on the counter as opposed to hung nicely on the racks like before. The old soap was left and a couple of new bars were sat on the sink and one of the previous wash clothes were left hanging in the bathroom.
Review 13:I definitely liked the staff that I came into contact with. The room was clean.
Review 14:Location was fair - not the best for walking to downtown (had to find the right route), but a good value. Good kitchenette in room & friendly staff.
Review 15:The first room I was put in had water damage and mold all over the bathroom walls. It was right next to the "locked" entrance to the hotel area, which was never locked, when the door slammed it sounded like someone was breaking down my door. TV would not connect to the cable
Review 16:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was actually good but was mostly gone, and no one seemed to be replenishing it (hours before breakfast was over). Was placed in a cleaner second room but it was not much better than the first.
Review 17:Lady at front desk
Review 18:Ask for a higher floor room was given 1st floor. The pool was a big waterless hole. The first room was nasty she put us on second floor room was at least clean. Lady at front desk was nice was about best thing.
Review 19:All was really good.
Review 20:Great Wi-Fi and that is important to me! They had my room pre-cooled after a long day driving how cool was that of them! Good location for Battlefield visits. Fast food close by. Frrig in room. For a small Two Star Hotel place was very comfy, clean. I was more than pleased..
Review 21:The air conditioner wa partially blocked by the bed so our room was a bit on the warm side. The pool was not the pool in the pictures. The floor of the pull was falling apart. And it wasn't exactly downtown.
Review 22:I liked the laminate floors in the room.
Review 23:the 1st room we were in never cooled down after running the air for about 3 hours. we had to pack up all of our things to move to another level of the building. it was blistering hot everywhere in the hotel except the rooms and the front desk.
Review 24:the bed was comfortable
Review 25:our watches were 1 hour late, so we didn't arrive to breakfast until 9.40, breakfast finished at 9, but the staff went out of their way to bring everything out again
Review 26:Breakfast was mediocre and there weren't enough places to sit and eat. Also the AC in the room was off when we arrived (end of July) and never really cooled off the room even by the next morning.
Review 27:Good location, good sized room, and friendly staff
Review 28:It is a convenient location near a freeway but in a very scary neighborhood. Just down the street, there were multiple men sitting on their porch, drinking 40's out of paper bags with a dog lying in the middle of the road. I was scared my car would get broken in to. The pool looked cloudy and not clean. And my husband saw 2 cockroaches in the bathroom. One was in the shower with him. I would have had a heart attack if it had been in the shower with me. I told the front desk and she kindly deducted $20 from our bill.
Review 29:Nice front desk people, newer room with comfortable beds and nice tv.
Review 30:Sink could have been better. The shower head was fixed. How is that supposed to serve a person in a wheelchair? Not good enough. I would stay no where else if the rooms were truly handicap accessable.
Review 31:Hard wood floors made it easier for a wheelchair. Roll in shower was good.
Review 32:The hotel over priced. Should be rated 2 star instead of 3star. Elevator was horrible; end up taking stairs. Overall experience was not up to par with ratings. It was not worth $95.00
Review 33:Could not probide extra towels or pillows. Had to wait 20 minutes before someone checked me out at front desk. Sign was out to call for assistance but it just rang and rang at the desk where i was standing???
Review 34:The size of room and comfort of bed
Review 35:Found hair in the bathroom. Had to call twice to get it took care of. Room on both sides of us we had problems with. One had a kid running wild in it at 1230 at night. Then the other room had a very loud domestic going on in it. And found blood on the wall of the elevator.
Review 36:Staff was very nice. Large room
Review 37:The elevator was super slow. The third floor air conditioning in the hall ways didn't seem to be working because it was hotter there than it was outside. Also, the fridge in the kitchenette did not keep anything cold.
Review 38:I enjoyed how comfortable and clean the beds were. The staff was really helpful and it was just far enough away from everything that there was no noisy atmosphere but what seemed like five seconds away from all of the fun of Chattanooga.
Review 39:- The pool was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom- nasty! - The A/C in the hallways didn't work so the hotel was about 85 degrees inside. - The elevator was so slow that I used to stairs instead of waiting. I climbed 3 floors up and back before the elevator made it to the ground level. - The bathroom was too small for even 1 person- you couldn't even shut the door once you went it- you had to walk next to the toilet to get the door shut. - The back door "key" entrance didn't work so we had to walk all the way around the building to the front door to get in. - Not the best of locations. This is not "Downtown" Chattanooga but downtown Chattanooga. - The breakfast bar was disaster- food all over the counters, waffle mix like water, waffles stuck to iron so you couldn't get them out to eat them, out of eggs, out of forks, no butter for biscuits, out of syrup, and then no place b/c there was only one table.
Review 40:+ Front desk workers were very friendly and helpful! + Room was clean! + Bed was comfy!
Review 41:Although the hotel was newly renovated, our room was not fully furnished yet - missing table and extra chairs and luggage rack.
Review 42:Justin front desk staff was very supportive and accommodating to meet our needs. Rooms newly renovated. The breakfast was great; wide variety of food.
Review 43:the door in the bathroom didn't have a lock and the bath tub didn't have a stopper to be able to take a bath so we could only do showers also you heard everything that was going on outside
Review 44:Room was not ready for over an hour past check in time. Lights in pool room did not work. Only had two towels in a room booked for four.
Review 45:Location and price. Staff was extremely friendly when dealing with issues we had.
Review 46:This place was a great stop over for me. It provided all the basic necessities I needed, as well as had a friendly and inviting staff. I will be sure to stay here again next time I'm traveling through the area!
Review 47:price was a little on the high side but all the hotels in the area know when there are events in town
Review 48:room was very nice comfortable bed the room was very clean and not far from the convention center
Review 49:I did not like that the door wasn't exactly fitted to the frame and there was a sliver of light coming through from the hall
Review 50:Newly renovated with wood flooring, spacious rooms, fridge, microwave, clean bathroom
Review 51:Wifi could have been faster and more channels could of been included
Review 52:The new remodeling looked great. Place was a great price for my week stay. Loved everything about it. Loved that my room was really smoked free.
Review 53:It was just on the edge of the city.Older kind of rough looking neighborhood but everyone we met was very nice. After dark there was very little traffic and it was very quiet.
Review 54:Easy exit to hotel.Convenience store with gas and KFC only 1 block away. Easy route access to Major attractions and Riverfront.
Review 55:sharing a wall with elevator and storage closet, not close to food or entertainment
Review 56:breakfast, wifi, water pressure, flat screen, fridge, hot lamp in bathroom, staff, early check-in
Review 57:I wish it had carpet instead of hardwood, I would have liked a few more bathroom towels.
Review 58:I loved the upgrades, the kitchenette, the free WiFi,the comfortable bed and the peace and quiet, and how close it is to the expressway.
Review 59:Very clean and quite. Staff was great. The hallways seemed dated and some paint/stucco was chipped faded. But the bed was great as was the tv and shower
Review 60:Pool needed some cosmetic repair. breakfast area should have been bigger. also could have a bigger and better breakfast selection . most importantly no HOT TUB
Review 61:Size of room was good and pool was nice
Review 62:The pool was very cloudy and I had a couple of ants in my room.
Review 63:The attendants were very nice and helpful with my needs. The price was well worth the stay.
Review 64:The website stated there was a fitness center and indeed there was not and that was one of the things I was looking for when booking. But we walked around enough to compensate for that. We had a kitchenette and there was only one eye of the stove working and we all had planned to cook dinners for one another during our stay and that made it difficult. Need to also state on website there is no oven in kitchenette rooms.
Review 65:The staff was very nice and helpful. Great location to all the attractions we wanted to do.
Review 66:The indoor pool was ice cold They had construction going on that's understandable but they let the workers drink in the lobby and every other word was a cuss word in front of children I spoke up but the management and front desk didn't mind how they where acting
Review 67:It wasn't far from lake winne
Review 68:The remodeling while we were there; however, the inconvenience was not enough to complain about. Workers were polite and kept the areas as clean as anyone could expect under the circumstances.
Review 69:My husband, as grandparents with a 5 year old, had decided to visit Chattanooga Aquarium and Creative Discovery Museum. We booked with this facility and were greatly pleased with the closeness to what we were visiting. The extra benefit was the cleanliness (despite remodeling in progress),courteous staff and the size and amenities of the room. The bed was comfortable and the convenience of the suite made our stay very nice. We plan to go to Chattanooga again and will be pleased to stay in this motel again. P.S. The grandson loved the access to the indoor pool after a day of walking and site seeing. Thumbs up for this Red Roof Plus!!!!!!
Review 70:The hotel was going through a renovation phase and their was dust everywhere. I have allergies. There was no workout room and the only reason I booked that particular hotel was for the work out room. Ants were everywhere in the room. Was so unhappy, had to try to book another room at another hotel last minute and of course pay an outrageous last minute booking cost. So unsatisfied.
Review 71:set up of room and new appliances were up to date
Review 72:They are remodeling and the whole first floor was closed. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Breakfast was awful, no selection and they only had two tables for all the guest. Not worth the $$ we paid.
Review 73:Close to downtown
Review 74:Smell, gnats in room, bath sink too high for child of 7, floors in room not carpeted, lack of utensils at breakfast, poor quality breakfast, after-hours bell broken during stay, after-hours entrance too easy, pool indoors too plain, overall atmosphere of gloom
Review 75:Not much
Review 76:the whole thing was bad the room had sticky stuff on the floor the pool was bad didn't look clean.the room didn't get cool they need to tell you when booking .that they are renovating.the food no way flies......all over your food .no ...... where to sit.never again at that place.I've stayed at red roof inn plenty of times.and they where nice....but this place they need to close.
Review 77:Nothing
Review 78:I chose a double queen with kitchenette & it was full beds, not queen. The kitchen area did not have a large refrig only the mini. They were also remodeling which was never mentioned when scheduling my stay
Review 79:The accessories were nice, like the sink, tv, marble counter tops
