Reviews for McCamly Plaza Hotel

Review 1:No book or pamphlet with checkout instructions or hotel information. Bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Ridiculous that ice isn't available on every floor. The door doesn't keep any sound or light out.

Review 2:The person who brought us the rollaway and extra pillows and blankets was a sweetheart.

Review 3:We had made a reservation for a room with 2 queen beds, traveling with 4 people. Upon checking in we were given a room assignment and sent on our way. Our room had a king bed and no room for a pull pout or roll away bed. I called the office and was told they ran out of rooms and there was nothing they could do. I argued with the manager and was finally told they found us a room with 2 queen beds. We ordered room service Barbecue ribs (about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed) They were delivered with out any sauce. We called and were told the kitchecn had closed and there was nothing they could do, again I had to argue telling them the kitchen wasn't padlocked and someone could walk back there and get some barbecue sauce that should have come with the ribs. They finally agreed to see what they could do and we received the sauce a short time later. The food was terrible and the staff was worse!

Review 4:Nothing

Review 5:the breakfast was mushie and doughie. had to keep signing in to wifi during my stay. had to sleep next to the elevator shaft kept me awake must of the night.

Review 6:I called housekeeping a few times and they where right there for my needs.

Review 7:I booked a King Suite and got a Queen Double. I called downstairs to let them know and was told, in so many words "Oh yeah, that happens. Sorry". Grrrrrrrrr! Also, there is a pub/restaurant in the lobby, but they closed at 9 o'clock (on New Year's Eve?!).

Review 8:I like the location, cleanliness and the safety.

Review 9:no coffee in lobby and it was new years day morning. could have used some. new years eve the bar wasn't open until at least 6 when happy hour was advertised from 4 till 6. not enough staff for the holiday. could not get any service at restaurant so we left.

Review 10:they couldn't find our reservation. gave us wrong room. after checking in to room found my confirmation and they immediately moved us to the right room. same thing happened to another couple at check in.

Review 11:We felt like for the price of the room we should have had access to refrigerator/microwave. The staff told us there wasn't even a microwave in the whole facility.

Review 12:Nice place in the middle of downtown. Went for a concert at the casino and the valet was able to drop us off at the concert. Had to get a cab back because they said they only pick up until 11pm, but saved us a cab fare for the way there. Good value, and would definitely stay there again.

Review 13:There was nothing about the hotel that I didn't like. Seriously.

Review 14:I really liked both the staff there and the accommodations. The staff was very personable and friendly yet very professional. The valets were very helpful and had no problem going out their way to assist both myself and my fellow Marines. My room was comfortable and I felt very safe, which means a lot to me, especially when away from home. I have told all I know about the hotel, highly recommend them to give them a try, and will undoubtedly use them again, especially if another Marine Corps League Convention comes to Battle Creek in the future.

Review 15:train horns,pay parking

Review 16:clean room, good staff

Review 17:The train that kept us up

Review 18:The style and cleanliness of the room

Review 19:the rooms and hotel was well maintained and clean

Review 20:There is not much around that location

Review 21:Very clean and staff was nice

Review 22:No heat in room.

Review 23:We reserved a king size bed and when we checked in they didn't have any king size beds so we had to stay in a room with 2 queen size beds

Review 24:Facilities somewhat outdated. Restaurant/bar closes early. Prices seemed high. No breakfast.

Review 25:Location was in the middle of downtown

Review 26:No exhaust/heat fan in bath! TV. No exterior mirror. No microwave or refrigerator.

Review 27:Room Service

Review 28:There is not enough parking lots for the guests

Review 29:Need to implement Continental Breakfast

Review 30:Staff Friendliness

Review 31:Small bathroom

Review 32:Liked the front desk staff and the valet staff, They were excellent.

Review 33:we had a terrible time with adults partying on our floor both friday and sat nights- called front desk every 30 mins for 2.5hrs - they did send security but the adults just started again once left alone

Review 34:that it was close to kellogg

Review 35:Parking was poor. I do not believe that you should have to pay for parking in addition to your hotel bill. Also, the lobby floor was dirty.

Review 36:The bed was comfortable.

Review 37:The staff was not very friendly. The pillows were horrible. We were there for a dance competition and when we went to park there was event parking for $5. We explained that we were staying at the hotel and were given a ticket instead. We had to pay $3 to go out to the store later in the day and then $11 the next day. You would think that staying at the hotel would be discounted to park not more money.

Review 38:Everything at this hotel was very nice. We were pleasantly surprised by the swimming pool - often hotel pools are very shallow and small, but this one was 8 foot deep at one end and large enough to accommodate several guests at once.

Review 39:Located next to railroad tracks. Train whistles kept me awake all night.Booking.com said they had Pay per view. They did not. When I connectedto the internet, a virus in their system destroyed my computer'shard drive.

Review 40:The hotel was not that good. As my car got towed from front of The hoteland no one informed me.And the guy from the tow company told me that alot of cars got towed from the same hotel. And I paid $130 to the towcompany????

Review 41:Nothing.

Review 42:the bottom of the toilet needed to be cleaned, that's what I look at when I visit a hotel for the price

Review 43:Very Large and cozy, staff was great water was good and hot, good location

Review 44:Had to park far away in ramp @ 12:00 a.m. Elevator had vomit in it. Front desk person @ check-in rude. They would not/did not validate parking. Shower did not work; they had to replace the handle. Potentially a nice hotel.

Review 45:Late checkout.

Review 46:Really didn't like the limited hours that the Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel was open! Very limited hours and very limited menu. Also, the venue that is attached to the hotel, The Kellogg's Arena, is pretty much old, dirty and dumpy.

Review 47:The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.

Review 48:We were disappointed that the workout facilities were under renovationand the space was cramped. The selection of equipment should beexpanded, if possible. The maid service was excellent and they left theroom immaculate. My only quibble was that there was no back-up roll oftoilet tissue given.

Review 49:The staff of this hotel were amongst the very best we have everencountered. This includes the front desk, room service, and especiallyyour valets who were all terrific, friendly, cheerful, helpful andcourteous. We travel and stay in hotels a lot, and your staff are at thetop of the list.

Review 50:A bit austere, room was made up each day but one day even my used coffee cup was not removed or additional tea bags added. Not well insulated for sound, the trains were running all night and noisy Insufficient parking directly at the hotel. I had to park across a four lane street which was a commuting artery.

Review 51:Location - close to where I was working close to restaurants and connected to Starbucks Safe - area for a single traveler for walking (weather permitting)

Review 52:Since I had business in the immediate area, I chose this hotel for itslocation. Not being fully aware of my surroundings since I checked in atnight, I realized that the hotel is a block away from train tracks. Thehotel needs to get sound-proofing windows and other materials so thatit's guests are not awakened at 2:00 A.M. and again at 2:20 A.M. andagain at 3:00 A.M. Providing cheap foam earplugs on my nightstandpresumably by the hotel's housekeeping is not a solution. How aboutlobbying the local government for a no train horns zone? (And that isnot the ultimate solution. Invest in sound proofing materials to helpdiminish the noise from the freight trains.)

Review 53:Friendly and helpful front desk staff is one feature of thishotel I liked.Although the hotel is showing very little wear and tear, they did a good job in keeping it up to date with its furnishings.

Review 54:A few girls at the front desk were lacking in personality.

Review 55:The location was excellent. The restaurant was very good quality and agreat value as well. The staff in the restaurant were very thoughtful, friendly, and accomodating. The managers were excellent as well as thecleaning crew.

Review 56:Paying for parking. Nothing else going on around. Yet parked in the garage without in and out priveledges. Paid too much money each time. Wasn't the cleanest or most up-to-date place, but fine.

Review 57:We were there for a baseball tournament. The location was excellent right across the street from the waterpark and close to the ball park.

Review 58:Smell in the hotel lobby and floors were bad. The pool was closed, wasnot advertised. Scratchy sheets. Temperature hard to control in the room

Review 59:Location. Valet.

Review 60:The pool was not available, it was closed because of a pipe issue. Therewas no refrigerator in the room. No ice machine found on our floor. Weakwi-fi service.

Review 61:Convenience. We were attending an event at the Kellogg Arena connectedto the hotel.

Review 62:Food. In-room breakfast was decent, but the restaurant is shabby withuninteresting menu and poor service.

Review 63:Pleasant room, free internet, comfortable. Ideal location for businesswith key companies in Battle Creek. Interesting to meet players on theHarlem Globetrotters, who were in town for a game at the nearbyKellogg Center.

Review 64:I had 25 rooms reserved and 7 of those families had to be relocated because hotel was overbooked

Review 65:Close to event

Review 66:Bad smell in the hotel

Review 67:Room was big

Review 68:There were no refrigerators or microwaves in the room.

Review 69:It was clean.

Review 70:The rooms were very clean and the staff was great.

Review 71:Hard to.find food, ice, and water.

Review 72:The room had plenty of space.

Review 73:Check in line/waited 25 minutes due to State Wrestling finals

Review 74:Location & Service

Review 75:Security, shopping located within plaza, friendly helpful staff

Review 76:Buffet breakfast was mediocre.

Review 77:Staff,room,hospitality,location.

Review 78:No on-site free parking

Review 79:Clean comfortable

Review 80:The internet speed was terrible. I tried the lobby, my room, and still had slow speed.

Review 81:Everything in hotel you could walk to. Starbucks restaurant bar etc

Review 82:Train whistles....very annoying
