Review 2：Fabulous resort. Very comfortable villas, well equipped and great surroundings! Staff in particular were really friendly and helpful. Great spot but make sure you have access to a car.

Review 3：Assumed would have bathroom complimentary items since there were at our last stay but there wasn't. Didn't bring our own from home so had to buy some at the store. Didn't have much of a view where we stayed.

Review 8：Not really a bad experience, but we were to have daily housekeeping, and there wasn't any. Because we were only there four nights, it wasn't a big deal. I'm sure we could have asked and received!

Review 14：The powder room off the lounge had not been serviced before our stay and we found a pair of men's undies down the side of the lounge chair... There is not a good swimming beach within walking distance so a car is essential.

Review 15：Holua resort was a most pleasant and relaxing place to stay with lovely gardens and landscaping. Our apartment was so spacious and we loved dining on the balcony overlooking the pool. The kitchen was well fitted out and there was a good supermarket nearby. We loved the pool and especially the hot spa. The king sized bed was comfortable and there was plenty of lounge furniture. The aircon worked well and parking was undercover and free. We were very close to the bay where the mantra rays swim which was quite special.

The unit we stayed in was well appointed, comfortable and clean. Would gladly recommend the Holua Resort for its excellence and value.

Review 21：The wifi was very poor. Limited reception. We had to go to the restaurant down the road. Also there was no beach within walking distance.

Review 24：It was the perfect place for families with children. Several of our families booked at the Holua because we heard of the family atmosphere and friendly, local hospitality. We were not disappointed.

Review 25：After arriving had to wait too long for a cart to pick us up and take us to our room, as we had a handicapped person with us and it was hot out. Not possible to drive near the room. Also, the second day, the several elect outlets in the kitchen stopped working.

Review 27：Check in is way too late and when I asked for a late check out, only half an hour was given. I didn't care for front office service from Kaimana. He was erogant! Although CeCe was a pleasure to work with. She walked out after me to assist me directions to my room since Kaimana was being erogant towards me. Something as simple as asking for directions seem to be too much for him.

Review 36：We stayed here once before and so since it was my son's birthday, we decided to return. We booked three 2bedrooms units and stayed 2 nights. Well, it was a bad choice because all three units were old and no upkeeps done in ages. These units were share with housekeeping and maintance which made it worse and read on if you wanna know why. My room AC was a older style type so my room was so hot during the day. They couldn't do anything about it per maintenance. The floors of all three units were dirty with rubbish that were just swept and put in the corner. The carpets was so grosse it turned the bottom of our feet black in 1 hour after check in. So apprently they dont shampoo the carpets. We paid for clean rooms and they were not clean at all. We didnt complain because it was my sons birthday but you can guarantee were never coming back. The front desks were limited on what they could accommodate and it sucks. The pool man threw white powdery substains into the jacuzzi and told us not to go in after 10 minutes which we obeyed. My kids eyes were burning with redness. Showering and flushing it with water didn't help until 4 hours after. The pool and jacuzzi should of been close for safety reason for at least an hour or two but nope,the pool guy apparently wasn't concerned about a law suit. The housekeeping department thew old linens and towels in untied garbage bags on pallets instead of bends. It's unsanitary and not health for all guests and especially the units we stayed because our units were next to these pallets. Can you image what we were breathing or smelling outside our front doors. The Department of Health will be informed. Please, please think twice about booking here!!!

Review 41：It is central to the volcano, bakeries, restaurants near two-step, monument for snorkeling in an underwater zoo, food and shopping in kona. Perfect location! Clean, comfortable, easy to access, and safe. You can either travel out of the resort or stay in like you are at home. We loved it! Always an awesome stay.

Review 42：Pool near our room was shut down the entire weekend forcing us to walk a distance to swim. On that Friday when we inquired, staff told us that the pool would reopen the next day but that didn't happen and by the time we left on Sunday the pool was still closed. To add to the frustration, not all of the pools have a jacuzzi so we had to walk the premises just to find one that had a jacuzzi.

Review 44：Everything was great! We were completely satisfied and enjoyed. Everything we needed was provided, washer, dryer, detergent, kitchen, oven, large fridge, microwave, beach towels, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The apartment is clean, spacious and comfortable. The best part was that there was no cleaning fee. In return, we also tried to keep the apartment clean while we were staying there. We have traveled many places and this is probably the most pleasant and comfortable accommodation we've ever stayed.

Review 45：The first unit we checked into was dirty. There are no little shops nearby without driving but there was a market on Wednesday next door at the Sheraton. The unit could have included info on nearby facilities or things to do.

Review 46：The units were spacious and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was near a bay. You can walk to Sheraton if you want to go to a bar or restaurant.the tennis courts and pools looked nice although we never used them.

Review 47：I didn't like that I said I wanted/ paid an early check in at 12:00pm but wasn't able to chck in until 4:00. Which left me waiting in the hot sun of Kona.

Review 48：the walking distance from parking to the room is a bit long. there is no direct access to the beach - you need to take a hike or drive somewhere. Car is a must if you wish to buy food or anything. the upstairs neighbors were a bit loud, but tolerable.

Review 49：the room itself was big, clean with outdoor patio - nice overall. lots of small swimming pools & hot tubs across the facility. Lots of tennis courts (but we did not use them so can't say the condition or extra pay is required or not).

Review 50：But it is far from Kona, you need to drive 15 minutes. The staff is nice but chaotic. The first night we had to move cause they gave us the wrong apartment. The internet didn't work and they couldn't fix it. The most guests were retired people. It's to expensive for what you get.

No Internet connection for more than half our stay (and not information on when it will be back), bathtub was filthy with other people's hair and icky mold, stained sofa in living room, no daily cleaning whatsoever provided (despite online claims to the contrary), nothing provided in the kitchen, they even charge you for the coffee serving pouches for the coffee machine (wow!), pools are tiny and not good except for small children only, the apartment was very old (only the carpet and phosphor colored paint seemed new) and it desperately needs a new bath and kitchen and furniture from this century (they have CRT TVs that I did not think existed in garbage dumpsters these days, gosh). They provide DVDs but the DVD player was no where to be found and they "cannot access storage to get one". You are even asked to check out by 10am. Would never recommend, what a complete let down

Review 70：Req ground floor due to traveling with 3 children under 5 also early check in and none of my req were met. Didn't get to check in til 4. I did a pre check in and GSR was friendly, but when I rtnd to pick up keys agent was rude, as I waited in line he stopped and asked me did u need anything (like I didn't belong there) and as I told him yes I'm waiting to check in he was like "oh". Felt discriminated because I'm a local. It was 7pm and we were watching tv and the front called us and said we were too noisy when all we were doing was eating and watching tv. Also we waited for 20 min for the bell man to assist us with checking in and nobody showed up. Also I asked for a late check out in the am since we couldn't check in til 4 and they said no

Everything about this resort was a total pleasure and the staff really showed the spirit of Aloha. Absolutely loved it! Instead front desk service was poor, the apartment was never cleaned while we were there, they locked us out twice and then when we were leaving they threatened to charge an additional day because we were checking-out 30mn late (even though check-out is at 10am). Air conditioning was too cold in main bedrooms and none existent in sofa bed room which by the way is not very comfortable. There is no breakfast or any service whatsoever. I saw the swimming pool and it looked pretty small and basic. Overall I would not recommend this place.

Review 92：No possibility to walk to the beach. Beaches in Kona itself are definitely not exiting. One has to drive for 15-20 minutes to get to the good beach... Somebody made a mistake and our reservation was lost. We were lucky, that they had free apartments. We still don't know who lost our reservation - resort or booking.com. So, be aware and always require confirmation from the owner!
