Reviews for ChiangMai 7 days Inn
Review 1:The towels, although replaced every day in a sealed bag, were not actually completely clean-looking and white. The air conditioner in the room was awful. We were originally told that we would be moved to a different room but that never happened. The A/C started off functioning properly and would work during the day with no issues. In the middle of the night, however, it would start to make loud clacking noises, stop producing cold air and would invariably start to drip water on the floor. The hotel staff was not the most pleasant or welcoming. I had the impression that their English skills were limited, which is fine, but then they have to find a way to communicate effectively with their guests regardless. On one occasion I went to the front desk to ask for some sugar for my room because I was going to make a cup of tea, I was told "We don't have any". That was it. No "I'm sorry", no "I will check to see if I can find some for you", no assistance what so ever. He answered my question and went back to what he was doing. The area where breakfast is served was uninspiring. A room with about 12 4-seater tables scattered around, child-like images painted on the walls, unsmiling service staff, and a very, very limited variety of food. The fruit and salad options were the same every morning. The drink and bread options were the same. The 7 hot food options were the same except for two items that changed daily. We used the on-site "laundry" facilities which included a washing machine but no dryer. We had to hang all of our clothes in the room to dry. The free WiFi was only available in your room. WiFi passwords were provided on a floor basis so there was no access when in the lobby or breakfast area.
Review 2:The room was very clean. The bedsheets were fresh. Located within 10 - 15 minutes from the airport. On a main road which made flagging public transportation easy.
Review 3:The location is not convenience travel to night market or other tourist sport. Every time must take "Song Tiu" or "Tok-Tok" to travel.
Review 4:Very comfort to stay, inside old town and close to some big famous temple .This hotel provided very simple breakfast but tasty. The staff also very helpful and friendly. Good value for money for stay on this small hotel.
Review 5:No English channels on satellite TV. No fridge. No chair. Very small dusty window. Only frosted glass separating bathroom from bedroom. No separation between shower and toilet.
Review 6:The staff were very good.
Review 7:The breakfast was poor. They only offered fried eggs and the breakfast was mainly for Chinese. There were no hand towels or face cloths in the room. The carpet in the hallway was dirty with spots. The location was a long way from the center of the old part of the city.
Review 8:The room was nice, clean, with a nice view. the shower was very good
Review 9:This facility is good for one or two nights, then not so great. There is no dresser storage space, but six hooks on the wall. No frig, and no workable wi-fi for computer, must go to lobby for weak signal. Found room crowded.
Review 10:location
Review 11:Room smelled awful, mix between smoke and feces. Worst of all the staff was unfriendly and location was very poor. Would only be worth it for less than $20 a night.
Review 12:It was nice I was able to find my own room, and had a bed.
Review 13:Too many Chinese tour groups stay there. The hotel is overpriced for individual tourists. You can find a lot of cheaper and better designed hotels nearby.
Review 14:The location is at the boundary of old city. The hotel is new and clean.
Review 15:The wifi is terrible slow, loading a webpage took forever. The breakfast buffet was always cold and staff never refilled the food, so you snoose you loose. The mattasses of the beds were very unconfortable in combination with 1 flat pillow, not the greatest for the price/quality combination of the hotel.
Review 16:The scooter rental was great, the staff spoke good english when you need information.
Review 17:Breakfast is bad, asian food in the morning doent make u feel good... There was no fridge in the room so we needed to buy cold water every time we got back to the hotel. Other then this the hotel is great for staying in chiang mai!
Review 18:The hotel is great, staff help a lot in everything. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable and the wifi was ok, little bit slow for upload and download.. The location is good, close to most of the main attractions of the centre.
Review 19:The hotel has no standby generator. There was a power outage at night on 20 Oct that lasted more than an hour. My room was in total darkness and I had to use my Ipad as a source of light to shower and get ready to go to bed early!
Review 20:The price.
Review 21:They need softer beds. Rooms needs air freshener.
Review 22:The people are nice, breakfast is okay. Walking distance from the street markets which is a plus point. Room facilities are okay.
Review 23:No safe provided in room to secure valuables. Bed extremely hard and uncomfortable. No wardrobe and limited space to hang clothes. No refrigerator for cold drinks. Limited choice of fresh fruit served at breakfast, no American style breakfast but mainly rice & noodles and Chinese foods.
Review 24:Location not too bad but very average and not too special. Free Wi-Fi & flat screen TV.
Review 25:This hotel is as full of good intentions as incapable of fulfilling them all. It's an old building with a makeup to look like modern, but it stays halfway there. Besides that, it covers the minimum required standards and the price is quite fair for the services (the bed is big and comfortable, especially if you fancy hard mattresses; and the air conditioned is super quiet) but there are some improvements that would help the hotel offering a much better experience: - You don't speak Chinese or Thai (in this order)? A pity: it will be much harder for you to make the staff understand you. It's fairly obvious that the hotel is targeted to Chinese guests. The staff people are really willing to help you in case of need (awkwardly, the cleaning staff is very nice and more helpful that some at the desk!), but that language handicap makes it really difficult. You may be lucky enough and have another guest to act as a Chinese-English translator (we were fortunate enough for this). - It can get really noisy. The rooms are pretty small (in proportion to the bed, which is by far what's best of the room) and the door not that thick. Any conversation at the corridor (no need to speak in high voice) is like you are participating on it. If your room is facing the street, help yourself with some earbuds to have a better sleep. - Breakfast is somehow limited in quantity and variety, especially if you're not used to typical Thai/Chinese hot meals for this time of the day.
Review 26:The location was convenient to visit the inner city of Chiang Mai. Fair quality/price ratio.
Review 27:I didn't ljme the fact that there was no soap. I asked one of the maids for some and she said there was none. Also the counter around the sink was dirty. I found the breakfast to be dissapointing. I told one of the kitchen staff I needed a fork but instead of bringing one to me I had to go get one from the girl who was washing the silverware. There wasn't extra toilet paper in the room so we had to find a maid to get some.
Review 28:The bed was comfortable and the wifi worked well. The front desk staff was nice.
Review 29:The room was quite sober decorated. we missed a wardrobe and some chairs. Breakfast was mostly Thai.
Review 30:The location in the old city is fine, the staff is very helpfull and friendly
Review 31:nothing really - small rooms but okay - no fridge in rooms.
Review 32:Staff super friendly and nice. New fresh rooms. My first hotel in Thailand with hot water and water pressure - not a cold box on the wall - central system. Big good breakfast buffe. I go there next time Im in Chiang mai.
Review 33:Instant coffee for breakfast... Only white bread, maybe dark bread, other dainties and oatmeal? Nice array of fresh fruit and eggs... Stayed a few days and would have enjoyed some variety...
Review 34:Staff was excellent and even sought out our feedback and offered help with bookings and local tourist info
Review 35:No English TV even when Promised this would change by House keeping manageress. It Did Not Only Chinese and Thai. Smaller than usual Double room. Air conditioning in Room failed to perform as normally expected even in the Coolest Month of the Year (December January). No Fridge in Room! Only Mirror Not in front of Basin but behind 'bathroom door' making it difficult to shave etc. Windows difficult to open, mine actually well out of slider and three floors below...Informed by House keeping manageress it was "Poor quality, made in China" by House keeping manageress. Breakfast OK not special but great when free with stay. No Room safe, No Reception Staff safe. Noise of Busy Street view means more noise from facing the Busy Street.
Review 36:Reasonable well Fitted with Modern facility. Warm to Hotter than Usual water. Free Breakfast (OK). Free WiFi OK Staff Most Friendly and polite and try to be helpful but language barriers remain. (English not too well understood). Love Buddhist large Pictures in Room. House keeping Manageress Does speak English well. Plenty of Staff on hand. Quiet in Hotel. (Sounds does come from Noise of Busy Vehicles on the front of the Hotel facing street. But Great to see the view from the front.
Review 37:minor-No Fridge-Hair dryer on request
Review 38:The staff was extremely nice, the room was very clean & comfortable,Bed was crispy clean , with extra pillows on request because I booked late in the holiday season,my room had a window with the view of the covered up windows of the next building. Great shower .Breakfast is ok, There are few extra tables out in the small balcony with full sun with street view below, lovely setting I like their soup Asian style, so much food stall and restaurant in the town that you should leave room for lunch . Nothing much to do around the hotel on foot , but we rented a motor bike at the shop just few doors away, nowhere is too far for you to go with the bike, we had a blast with it and save money on taxi. Recomended: Saturday ,Sunday night markets, shop & eat until you drop I'll come back for a room with the view.
Review 39:Staff spoke next to no English, mainly a Chinese hotel, New to booking.com, breakfast not so good
Review 40:Good location, nice big clean rooms, great shower. Staff tried hard
Review 41:Breakfast can be improved. Reception staff does not speak English. Beds plastic covers shoulder be thrown away as because of this plastic cover you sweat a lot at night.
Review 42:The Chinese owners seem to target mostly Chinese customers. Even the name of the hotel on the façade is written in Thai and Chinese but not in Latin letters, which makes it hard to identify for a European at first.
Review 43:A central hotel, recently renewed. On a very busy street but the rooms on the back are quiet enough. I appreciated the professionalism and kindness of Ms Jin. Without this manageress, the hotel would be lost!
