Reviews for Boulder Lodge
Review 1:I did not like the hidden fees. I booked a room for 6 people total. When i arrived to check in, the office told me even though i reserved a room for six the price on line was for four people and i had to pay an additional ten dollars per person per night which included me paying for my two year old daughter.
Review 2:the lake view rooms were gorgeous.
Review 3:Housekeeping staff forgot to wash microwave plate which had crusted old pizza, plus mini freezer and bathtub could have been cleaned better. Still an enjoyable place to stay.
Review 4:BEST lakeview of June Lake. Peaceful and quiet. Aspens turning, PERFECT. Staff was VERY accommodating for special needs with elderly mom. Think it has the ONLY pool/jacuzzi/sauna in town.
Review 5:None
Review 6:Very spacious room and clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable. If you have to have jacuzzi and swim pool then it's worth the price. I don't care too much for those.
Review 7:Thousands of gnat/fly bugs got into our room and it made it seem like I was camping! I wish there had been a notice at check-in to be careful about keeping doors closed so the bugs would not invade.
Review 8:The hot tub pool area was very nice. The balcony had a nice view.
Review 9:nothing.
Review 10:Lovely location next to the lake, peaceful and scenic. Just a short walk to cafe's and restaurants in town. Room was fine, basic but clean and the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful.
Review 11:The cost. I thought it was somewhat higher than I thought. The rooms need to be up graded, moderized some, to accommodate 4+ people. Bigger bathrooms!!!
Review 12:The location was incredible, absolutely beautiful. The check in process was great, the time at the front desk, the room location and the warmth of the personell made the encounter seemless. The hospitality was right on, needs were met.
Review 13:No wifi on the room only at the office and that was to far from our room. Spiderwebs in the room show that the cleanliness was not good, then we saw the the family helped with the rooms and also the little kids helped. way overpriced for what you get. We went to Vegas after and got for less money a room with 3 tv's large bath and large shower ..... On our roadtrip had over 10 hotels/motels and this was the worst
Review 14:The view over the lake ( but we payed extra )
Review 15:No breakfast. All facilities (except beds) old and of low standard. Hotel in need of renovation. Overpriced.
Review 16:Comfortable beds. We got a free upgrade to a room w/ balcony, and the view of the lake was beautiful and relaxing.
Review 17:I like a fairly cool room, and it was pretty warm at first since there's no A/C. However, a powerful box fan cooled the room nicely. An open window helped, too, but I didn't want to leave it open when I left the room.
Review 18:Great staff, close to lots of awesome hiking areas, and of course, the lake! I also liked being able to park right by my room. I have knee issues, and carrying my items in was a breeze. This was my first time here, and I would come again. Gorgeous area!!! Super-friendly and helpful owners/staff.
Review 19:Flies dead all over room floor and beds, this is the first room we were given. Second room dirty and not cleaned. Beds not made and kitchen sink filthy
Review 20:View over lake
Review 21:Stayed in a room with a kitchen, needs a real good cleaning and updating. Rusted sink cover with a disgusting sink underneath.
Review 22:Great location, comfy beds, beautiful view. Good base for other side trips.
Review 23:the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room was as advertised in size and type. The room was clean and we has a nice view of the lake. We didn't use the pool or other areas so I do not know how those were. But for two guys just up there to fish it was great. Lots of parking too.
Review 24:No trash cans anywhere but bathroom No exterior trash cans or easy-access dumpster. No where to throw garbage
Review 25:Proximity to lake Cable TV Comfortable beds
Review 26:The gues WiFi networks works only in the common areas. This is advertised in the description of the hotel, but still - having wifi connection in the room would be a lot more convenient.
Review 27:Amazing location overlooking Lake June.
Review 28:Upon check in was told I'd have to pay an add'l $10 per child or $30 a night. This was a two bedroom unit with 5 beds and a fold out. They claimed it was in their terms and conditions. The room was small, cramped, and furnitue/beds were uncomfortable. There was minimal bedding and heater couldn't keep up with cold outside, cold both nights. There was tiny TV crammed in corner, with only one channel. Layout was poor, table was cramped behind fridge and smoke alarms kept going off at slightest hint of heat coming from oven. I think the toaster set it off too. Overall, just a poor experience.
Review 29:Location
Review 30:The rooms are basic. We stayed Oct. 24 and 25 it was a little chilly, no extra blankets in room. Interior outdated but the necessities are there. Nice hot shower. They have a jacuzzi but is located by front desk is not convenient especially when it is cold.
Review 31:Boulder Lodge was very close to the lake. Because it was my husbands birthday I called the night before our arrival to ask if we would be able to have a lake view room. The nice lady on the phone was very pleasant and placed us in a large suite with a great view for a few extra bucks. Fantastic view! We had issues turning on T.V called they responded right away.
Review 32:Checked in and found that room did not have the booked fridge and microwave. Was given keys to a second room, but this did not have a microwave. Was given keys to a third room, but the room lights were not working. Was eventually upgraded to an an appartment at no extra cost, but was not over-impressed with the quality of the room for what we paid.
Review 33:In need of some renovation.
Review 34:Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay at Boulder Lodge due to personal reasons so only stayed 1 night. The motel is in need of some serious renovations and beginning to show its age. However the staff were excellent and the manager/owner sorted our cancellation fees promptly to the satisfaction of both parties.
Review 35:Paid for double room deluxe (with view) Got single room with view of trees Micro wave ,fridge and tv and receiver on same outlet (tv and receiver connected with extension cord.) Wi fi only worked near office
Review 36:We were evacuated due to a nearby wildfire and so, we only stayed at Boulder Lodge for about 3 hours.
Review 37:We had an upstairs room with a balcony overlooking June Lake. It was lovely.
Review 38:I did not like the fact that the owner/manager has posted very political/anti Obama stickers on his office windows. I don't need 'in your face' political slogans on my vacation. Next time, I'll spend my money at a more neutral place.
Review 39:Superb location negated by owner's politics.
Review 40:Carpeting around the pool area was saturated with water
Review 41:We were vacationing with our children and grandchildren. This was a great location on the lake and in walking distance to the shops and restaurants. We used the grills and patio area to eat together and the kids enjoyed the pool, while we used the hot tub.
Review 42:Coffee pods very weak but these were an extra, so I am not complaining, just a point of note.
Review 43:Location, quiet, comfy bed, friendly staff, great indoor pool and hot tub. All round wonderful.
Review 44:The ceiling was falling over the tub and needs to be repaired.
Review 45:I loved the reading lights over the bed. The room was large and comfortable. The view was lovely and the room was quiet.
Review 46:When I booked I said there was 6 of us and was booked for a 2 bedrm apt. When got there they said wasn't big enough for 6 of us. Luckily they had adjoining rooms, which worked out and was only little more. Power would go out in room at times when used microwave and panel was in another room, which made it difficult to reset breaker. Also kitchen was the microwave, stove, sink, and frig, all lined up with no counter space, which made it difficult to prepare meals.
Review 47:Loved having a room facing the lake. Beautiful view. Was shown the suite, which is actually 3 separate rooms with adjoining doors, that would rent the next time. Also had lake view.
Review 48:The rooms are dusty, the carpets are dirty, there is mold in the bathroom, the linoleum in the bathroom floor is all coming apart, the screen door came off, ants crawled in bed at night. The water pressure in the shower was unpredictable.
Review 49:The location next to June lake.
Review 50:bed uncomfortable, limited power outlets to charge the multiple electronic devices we had, TV antenna running across the floor, no iron in room.
Review 51:Easy access to Yosemite national park, great views over June Lake, good size fridge in the room.
Review 52:Nothing much.
Review 53:Lake view is great. Economical and closer to the town. Good with amenities. Value for money paid
Review 54:The facility is beat up
Review 55:We love the location on the lake with wonderful view.
Review 56:Scruffy Poor wifi
Review 57:how the staff were helpful and telling us the going on off thing to do. boys like the pool and hot tube.
Review 58:Wi-fi only worked near reception - not good when traveling with teenagers!
Review 59:View from room was amazing Suggestions for what to do from reception staff
Review 60:Nothing
Review 61:The place is beautiful. The room is nice.
Review 62:completely run down and in disrepair
Review 63:the view of the lake
Review 64:A little over priced for the un updated rooms.
Review 65:Rooms could use updating.
Review 66:no wifi in room no breakfast include
Review 67:The room didn't have a freezer to store our fish.
Review 68:We had an excellent view of June Lake, the ladies in the office were very nice.
Review 69:small kitchen
Review 70:staff there to help
Review 71:Lake view
Review 72:The view was beautiful
Review 73:Everything is very rundown and out of date.
Review 74:Rooms with a view of the lake are nice and are the only reason to stay here
Review 75:No negatives
Review 76:Staff very friendly, view of lake, close to town, free wifi in reception and outside
Review 77:Hotel needs to be updated.
Review 78:poor beds
Review 79:We were greater by friendly staff and a clean room overlooking Lake June. Quiet nights meant restful sleep.
Review 80:Excellent view of the lake. Very enjoyable pool and hot tube.
Review 81:The view of the lake was great. The Motel staff were very nice.
Review 82:The lake is amazing and it's easy access to Yosemite
Review 83:VERY run down..I think locals live here.. Although it blends in with surroundings.
Review 84:The view and the staff were very welcoming.
Review 85:Needs many repairs, not very clean.
Review 86:Our room was clean but very dated and in need of refurbishment. We paid extra for a lake view but as the room was on the ground floor the view was mainly of trees. The only toiletries provided was a bar of soap.
Review 87:A good location adjacent to the lake.
Review 88:Smelled awful. Old, old, old. Moldy shower curtain. No shampoo or lotion. Stinky fridge. Worn torn upholstered chair. Poor condition of building, doors, hot tub, pool. Not worth even half the cost. Even the coffee maker leaked and was peeling on hot plate. Everything looked below thrift shop value. Ugh. Awful. Couldn't sleep. Remote control for TV not working at all. Worst room I've experienced.
Review 89:It was mostly quiet except for car alarms and bikers. Towels were in ok condition.
Review 90:Internet did not work in room and was slow in the common areas. We were three adults travelling together and the room had three towels but no hand towels or face washers and only one coffee cup provided. Beds were only doubles and pillows very flat.....not that comfortable
Review 91:Excellent older lady and two young women checked us in and they were fantastic ambassadors for the place but staff later were not quite as friendly and helpful. Location is beautiful with wonderful view of the lake
Review 92:Having to leave!
Review 93:Staff and service were excellent. Answered many questions we had about local dining and activities. All recommendations were excellent. My car was a mess from kayaking on Mono Lake and they let me use their hose to wash off the salt. We hope to come back, with friends.
Review 94:I was kinda bummed out that they gave me a room with a view of the parking lot when instead they could of gave me one that overlooks the lake ........ I could see if the place was packed or something but there was nobody really there. No big deal though I would go back for sure.
Review 95:My room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was great.......after a day of snow boarding the Indoor pool and jacuzzi really hit the spot. Check this place out, you'll be happy you did!!!
Review 96:Love this place. Have been coming here for years during the ski season. Staff is great and rooms are always comfortable. Walking distance to the nice town of June Lake. Highly recommended.
Review 97:We stayed in a lake view room with a king sized bed and it was amazing! What a view.. We wanted to go to mammoth for valentines day for some snow boarding but the prices were rediculous. We decided to book here and drive down to the slopes. The staff was amazing and they even accommodated us when we arrived before check in. Even if it's not for boarding I would go back for the view and the staff. Keep up the great work guys!
Review 98:Bed a little hard. Could improve ambience in lodge and pool.
Review 99:The spectacular view, kitchen, pool, jacuzzi, watching bald eagle from balcony, sitting by fire, walking by lake, helpfulness of staff on phone before arrival.
Review 100:The pool was not heated, Due to business being slow, they did not have the pool heated. However, the staff explained the situation to me and turned the heater on. By the following morning, the pool was warm enought to swim in.
Review 101:The staff was very friendly and helpful, very accomodating. We stayed here for the indoor pool for our kids. Location is very good.
Review 102:Heating did not work properly--too warm at night--could not regulate it--staff could not correct situation either.
Review 103:Beautiful setting, quiet and clean room
Review 104:Boulder Lodge really needs some work done, the outdoor carpeting on the deck is worn out & the, sliding glass door was VERY difficult to open, the bathroom fan sounded like it was going out. My husband is on the same page with this.
Review 105:the VIEW...... of June lake
Review 106:Steps upstairs. Pool and sauna shabby.
Review 107:Hotel keeper very nice and helpful. Splendid view on the lake. Quiet and peaceful. Cozy rooms. Free Wi-fi actually worked in the room.
Review 108:The staff were extra nice, they did a mistake by giving us a room which is less than what we paid for, so after complaining they provided us with a nice apartment. I mean that was luck as well as if they didnt have the apartment we wouldnt get a better deal...
Review 109:The facility is old and needs to be updated. The staff seemedunorganized and inefficient. They were not particularly welcoming. The front door key didn't work well, one of the the faucetsdidn't work and another dripped, and no shampoo or conditionerwas provided. The room was not worth the $150 fare. Our dinner at theSierra Inn, recommended by the staff at Boulder Lodge, was awful (thefood and the service).
Review 110:The view of June Lake was outstanding.
Review 111:The room was worn. The bed sloped towards the middle. No internet access from inside the room.
Review 112:The location was very good. Our room had an excellent view of the lake. The pool and spa were great features.
Review 113:Staff, hygiene, bugs, no internet connection
