Review 4:Extremely friendly and helpful manager. Large room and bathroom. Secure parking. Lush garden. Coffee and tea making fascilities with a fridge to keep fresh produce in. Meal vouchers instead of breakfast
Review 5:Clarens is a very nice village with little shops, galleries, lots of restaurants at walking distance. Very near the beautiful Golden Gate Highlands Reserve.
Review 6:We loved the location - right next to the mountain and forest-like area. It was the perfect little retreat. The room itself was well-equipped and clean.
Review 7:i didn't have a bad experience as such, its just i didn't like the room. The room in the loft requires a make over, its really not nice. The pictures on the net of the room are not deceiving, that room is not nice at all but it has a great view from the deck.
Review 8:Great location & spectacular mountain view
Review 9:very nice property and room. has basic facililities to prepare breakfast and the view from the patio is wonderful. wifi working perfectly very helpful owner
Review 10:Clarens is very quiet on a Tuesday night.
Review 11:A very nice place, with an extremely friendly and helpful host; a five minute walk into the centre; patio area in the sun overlooking pleasant gardens and mountain behind; complementary breakfast at a local restaurant for those staying 3 nights or more
Review 12:The facility is "under" advertised!?! Hair Dryers in both rooms, tea, coffee and sugar and rusks included, 1st bag of wood of excellent quality included AND manager always available to assist on advise on town facilities!!!
Review 13:The Lavendar room while comfortable is not soundproof. It is attached to the house. We could hear all conversations in the office overhead. They no longer service breakfast thus a small kitchen area would be most helpful.
Review 14:Sitting on the patio enjoying a meal/drink in a beautiful garden with the poplar trees and mountain as backdrop.
Review 15:I felt the cleaning ladies were slacking a bit, not always changing the linens, toiler paper and towels, had to ask for it to be done
Review 16:Like the property, space of the unit, and the furniture were all to good taste, The unit was also spotless, really felt comfy as we walked into the place
Review 17:A bit cramped. Room warms up quite a bit. No eating area when weather is poor.
Review 18:Friendly staff. Riaan was great. Attentive to our needs. Comfortable beds. Cleanliness. Beautiful gardens and views. Value for money

Review 21:The whole experience at Mont Rouge was very pleasant. We were welcomed by Riaan, and we're brought up to date with the general set up. We can definitely recommend Mont Rouge to other travelers.
Review 22:No breakfast facility. Though there are restaurants within walking distance that serve breakfast.
Review 23:Friendly and informative host Nice town and the beautiful Golden Gate National park nearby.
Review 24:We were met by the Manager, Riaan, with a welcoming tray of tea and eats. We found the Lavender room at Mont Rouge a reasonably priced and comfortable spot in a beautiful and quiet setting, but within easy walking distance to Clarens town centre. In all, the accommodation suited our needs (and our pockets) perfectly, and our host was great. He could not have been more obliging and helpful.
Review 25:Clarens was very cold when we were there. Even though there were heaters, electric blankets and a fireplace, the unit stayed cold.
Review 26:The location was great. It was close enough to the town centre, but not too close. The unit was furnished very well and there was nothing we missed. We were allowed to take our two small dogs with, which we appreciate a lot. The manager was very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again.
Review 27:We stayed in the loft room for two nights. As older people we found the groundfloor shower and toilet very inconvenient. There was an electrical problem that sent electrical currents through the shower and water. They tried to fix this the second day so the room had no electricity for most part of the day. They left the shower so dirty that we refused to use it. The only bedlamp had no bulb. The loft room was definitely not worth the money that we paid for it.
Review 28:The Atic portion of Mont Rouge is cramped, old and needs an upgrade considering the price charged. Chipped crockery, microwave not working properly.
Review 29:Good location, friendly manager
Review 30:There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Review 31:We stayed in the Lavender Room, which was so cozy and beautifully decorated. The underfloor heating, electric blanket, and goose-down duvet were most enjoyable in the icy temperatures.

Review 44:The Lavender room is below another room with wooden floors. No privacy and lots of noise from upstairs.

Review 74:Very friendly reception when we arrived. The Log Nest is essentially an upgraded backpackers unit with a Queen size bed and 2 bunk beds but is extremely well equipped and very comfortable. There is air conditioning in case it is very hot. Good signposting means it is very easy to locate. TV reception was good. There is an outside area to sit with views of the Red mountains. Good value.
