Reviews for Hansar Samui Resort & Spa

Review 1:During two days of staying, someone starts the early morning to drill in the next room to me, making a lot of noise. It was awful.

Review 2:It was the third tine to stay there, but unfortunatelly, the quality of staying is deacreasing every year.

Review 3:A little to many mosquito's

Review 4:Great hotel beautiful property in the best location of bophut. The restaurant is fantastic would definitely return. We loved the hansar samui!

Review 5:Nothing!

Review 6:It's a fabulous hotel in a great location, staff give excellent service very kind and friendly and the food in the restaurant is 5* best holiday ever will be back in 2016:-)

Review 7:The location was next to Fishermen's Village, which was convenient but right when you walk out of the hotel ground it was smelly.

Review 8:The staff was amazing- so helpful and accommodating, ready to offer their help and tips to get around, which made our stay very comfortable.

Review 9:restaurant and spa prices are overwhelmingly high, as you might expect from a luxury hotel, but still not reasonable. just check what the fisherman's village have to offer as a suitable replacement

Review 10:high class hotel perfect service amazing breakfast, very reach and fresh great infinity pool best location, right on the main street of the fisherman's village staff pays attention to every small details, like service ice cold water to guests in the pool area very large rooms, very comfortable, lovely beach front view

Review 11:The price was very expensive for the 6 nights, but to be fair it was over the Christmas week. The breakfast selection was average compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Koh Samui. I was expecting there to be more of a selection, but the staff were attentive, polite and prompt.

Review 12:The location is perfect for Fishermans village and the views onto the other islands are superb. The pool and bar staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and the shower was excellent. I'll definitely stay here again.

Review 13:Breakfast is average. No fresh juices and not the best coffee.

Review 14:Excellent friendly staff (look out for Dom he is exceptional), pool and facilities with easy access to surrounding restaurants, bars, markets, shopping and go-carting! All rooms have sea views, are well laid out, comfortable and functional (good quality hair dryer included)

Review 15:Zero

Review 16:Outstanding hotel, Dom and Tiger were especially amazing. Located right next to Fishermans village. Incredible infinity pool and bar with views to die for. 3 happy hours at the bar which were great. The BEST WHISKY SOUR I have ever tasted. There are few hotels in the world I would return to....this is one of them.

Review 17:Loved everything about Hansar. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a vacation - serene and peaceful property, helpful and friendly staff, exceptional food and stunning views.

Review 18:Bathrooms were too visible to the others in hotel but the Housekeeping was productive in using towels to close up the views.

Review 19:Rooms and view were excellent

Review 20:its really bad experience still in harsar ,bed is too soft make us cannot sleep at well ask for change room but the answer is no more room but We saw a lot of available room in the hotel .location is too far from the town wil never still at there and We pay 5 star but have 3 star service !

Review 21:Great location at the end of the Fisherman's village - quiet and peaceful but within minutes walk of a variety of restaurants and shops. Pool is beautiful and the staff were great - Sea view was fantastic!

Review 22:Service slightly off the mark... particularly reception and breakfast service. Friendly and warm but perhaps not as attentive as it could be. The spa is also very, very pricey.

Review 23:Fabulous location right on Fisherman's Warf, spacious and well appointed rooms, great pool and pool bar - an overall gorgeous property with friendly staff.

Review 24:The food is amazing in this hotel! Breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything is delicious. We also love the location next to the cute Fisherman's Village.

Review 25:The bathrooms were open plan so no privacy, even the toilets had simple sliding screen so any noises generated there were heard throughout the room. The gym needs a few yoga mats and some more equipment. There was no complimentary sauna or steam room. You had to commit to a very expensive treatment. The spa was virtually empty because the costs were so high. A short walk outside and great treatments could be had for a tenth of the price.

Review 26:Really relaxed atmosphere. Very obliging staff. A true detox for the body and soul.

Review 27:This was not an issue for us but there is no door on the shower, might bother people staying with children.

Review 28:We loved everything about Hansar. It's beautifully located at the Fishermans village, a nicer part of Samui far away from the craziness of Chaweng. The rooms are beautiful, we never wanted to leave the balcony facing the pool.. a perfect spot for lounging and reading. The pool is gorgeous and the beach was always quiet. A short walk from all the bars, restaurants and shops in the fisherman's village. The staff was incredible and the amenities were outstanding. Value for money is really incredible. I can't wait to go back. It's perfect for a quiet honeymoon. We only stayed for 2 nights and I really regret not booking it for longer.

Review 29:Nothing bad. The beach in the front is very pebbly, so it's a bit of discomfort taking a stroll. I like fine Sands.

Review 30:The pool is amazing, the location is great and staff is lovely. Great views and we didn't even want to leave the resort. Food also pretty awesome.

Review 31:The standard of the hotel is excellent, but prices seem to be a bit high for Thailand and and are in the range of Dubai's 5-star hotels.

Review 32:The rooms and the entire hotel are very nice and clean. The staff is VERY friendly and always helped when needed. The restaurant and spa are excellent. It is quiet and yet very close to restaurants etc. If we visit Koh Samui again, we'll definitely come back!

Review 33:This was our second stay here and it was brilliant. Location is great onright on the beach and 2mins walk to Fishermans Village. Well apponted sea view rooms and a large swimming pool. But it is the staff that make this place... so friendly and helpful.. ☺

Review 34:Breakfast has to be ordered from the waiter which makes it very limited. Hotel bar and restaurant are very pricy compared to alternatives which are just outside of the hotel. Hotel charges high prices for transportations. Getting outside to the road and just raising your hand for a taxi will get you half the price the hotel asks for.

Review 35:Location is great and right inside the fisherman's village - close to everything. Pool is great and attached to the hotel's beach area. all water sports attractions is right in front of the hotel.

Review 36:Perfect location, the rooms were amazing, also the breakfast and pool..our friend had a surprise surgery and the hotel staff sent food and a card to the hospital.. AMAZING hotel

Review 37:Firstly I booked a room with an "unobstructed sea view". I didn't get that. I raised this with the staff but they opined that I could see the sea. The use of the word "unobstructed" was lost on them. This left a bad taste because I felt like it was another Thai effort to scam money from foreigners. Food and treatments en site were very expensive compared with was is available less than 100 m from the hotel.

Review 38:Room is very nice though quiet a walk from reception.

Review 39:Kept needing to refresh wifi connection Seating round pool could get crowded at busy times

Review 40:Good location; close to restaurants, shops, beach etc. but quiet enough Comfortable room with efficient air con Large pool

Review 41:the lights system is horrible - 9 plugs that you need to guess room is very basic breakfast is not satisfying and suit for max 3 start hotel

Review 42:great swimming pool good location

Review 43:Nothing

Review 44:Soooooo amazing, all staff are very nice, the facility also maintained well. Especially the ocean view from room impressed me a lot. Very nice breakfast. The swimming pool is wonderful and there is a smaller one for baby with many toys.

Review 45:No value for money at all. Tiny room, with mold in the ceiling of the bathroom. This hotel is maybe a 4 star hotel. If you are searching for a five star hotel, this is not the place. No good service, expensive! You can find a better place for less money. Or pay the same and have a much more better experience. We moved out from the hotel and stayed in Samui.

Review 46:Location location location Also the pool is great.

Review 47:The pillows were horrid and therefore I slept badly the whole week I was here.

Review 48:Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent location, right at the start of Fishermans Village where all the restaurants and bars are.

Review 49:This is very nice boutique hotel. Very well managed. The H Bistro restaurant is fantastic! Special thanks goes to Mr. Bon! He is very customer oriented and should be promoted to a higher position. Very good breakfast, nice beach. Quite, nice hotel, very relaxing. Fisherman's village is very close where you could find a lot of restaurants, Dusita Spa is also very good. Thanks a lot for a nice vacation!

Review 50:Noisy in the evening because it's next to the Fisherman's wharf. We heard music through the late evening. It was ok for me, but my husband is sensitive to sound.

Review 51:Nice comfy bed. This is a great honeymoon hotel. The rooms were nice, but a little difficult with grown children because the showers are wide open, with no doors or curtains.

Review 52:The room service menu was not too exciting and only available till 10 The pillows smelt a bit musty

Review 53:Every single staff member was wonderful, the service was excellent!! The pool is very relaxing and the view from the infinity pool of th beach is lovely We had one XL and one normal seaview room, both were great.

Review 54:Excellent location and facilities first class. Best of four hotels we stayed in during our Thailand trip. Breakfast and lunch excellent - dinner a bit on the fancy side for two teenagers but plenty of options just steps away from hotel. Really accessible from airport.

Review 55:Noisy air conditioning sound Lack of amenity Everyday same breakfast

Review 56:Infinity swimming pool Location very close from Fishermen's village Nice food at H bistro and beach bar Wifi

Review 57:Bad beach. Hotel needs some updating. No airconditioner in the dinning area which makes it very u comfortable to enjoy a breakfast and lunch. Flies all over the breakfast buffet. Food in the buffer area is not placed on cold / iced surfaces everything gets warm iand soggy!

Review 58:Very close to restaurants and shops. Quiet. Ocean veiw.

Review 59:Reception's performance is not satisfactory. Sometime they just left me standing with my request without saying anything. Not the 5 star experience of the hotel.

Review 60:Beautiful hotel in a very nice location. Just a 1 minute walk away there is a restaurant row and some shops where you can get most of what you need. Very very helpful staff, really

Review 61:Bophut beach is imposible to walk on let alone jog, water quality poor slimy base with cloudy water if you want clear ocean stay at Chaweng but if a pool is sufficient no issues.

Review 62:Great resort right next to Fishermans Village good size room & balcony overlooking pool & ocean great breakfast we loved the location, service was impecable will book again for next year, great pool /gym/ beach bar .Fishermans village brilliant, upmarket Restaurants & Bars.

Review 63:Mattresses were on wooden bases which creaked everytime you rolled over. Breakfast area was very hot with cold meats and salmon sitting exposed. Not even placed on ice and flies settling on food. reception area was open to air and was extremely hot and uncomfortable on checking in and checking out, especially before getting on a plane for a long flight home.We were dripping in perspiration waiting for airport transport. There needs to be an airconditioned room where guests can sit,pre and post stay.

Review 64:Good Location.Quiet Room.Nice staff.

Review 65:Final bill had a section to add a tip. I've never had this from a hotel. You would tip as you received service and not be expected to pay another final tip at the end.

Review 66:Great rooms, large balcony with perfect sea views. Lovely breakfast, also with sea views. Large pool and plenty of sun beds. Nice staff.

Review 67:It's a shame the sea is cloudy. It's clean but not clear however we swam every day.

Review 68:The cocktails are great! Happy hour is several times a day to ease the pain! Ambience at night is so romantic.

Review 69:nothing :)

Review 70:I liked everything about this hotel :) The rooms were everything and more comfortable bed superb wet room for your shower .... Location, View, Pool, Cocktails and the best breakfast in the world :)

Review 71:Perfect location at the end of Fishermans Village, the staff were very attentive and always keen to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We had a perfect 12 days relaxing and if we ever go back to Samui will be sure to stay there again. Thank you to the staff.

Review 72:Cleaning could be better, room was quite dusty. This was the only place in Phobut where they add service and taxes to your bill afterwards. Even if you tip 10+% they charge an extra, I guess, 10% service + 7% vat on your checkout bill on everything. This and some other small things here and there made Hansar a not recommended and not visit again resort. We are now at Buri Rasi Koh Phangang. This is the way to go!

Review 73:Overall nice place without any real down points.

Review 74:The temperature of the water in the shower is little bit problem of adjust... For our point of view it's little bit expensive for Thailand! But really five stars hotel. We stayed for 8 nights!

Review 75:Greatest hotel in samui ! Very high quality rooms. Staff is greate , very helpful. 5 star spa. Very good for people with small children's . Room big with cool balcony. Very good breakfast, bar and pool area! You get complementary drinking water bottles all day long at the pool. Nice happy our.

Review 76:The room's are not particularly well designed or spacious. The air conditioning unit was noisy.

Review 77:We loved the fact that it was the first hotel at the end of Fisherman's Village. The central courtyard and pool area was well designed and an enjoyable place to while away the hours.

Review 78:My wife and I hit the bed corners three times during our stay as the matteress finishes much before the bed and one feels that the mattereess is the edge of the bed whereas it protrudes out a little more....

Review 79:Proximity to water sports.... Wharf Shopping area and fisherman's village all literally on the door step.....Private beach strip.....good breakfast and the great shower space

Review 80:Nothing to dislike!

Review 81:It is such an elegant hotel, the staff are superb, the breakfasts amazing,& as a return guest I was even given the same room & several of the staff even remembered me.the location is the best on the Island.

Review 82:None

Review 83:The food is wonderful. Pool service is quick and easy. The meals at all the local restaurants are all of a high standards. Dinner under the stars was exceptional.

Review 84:When aircondition is turned off most of the day when outside, it does not manage to get the dampness out of the room at night.

Review 85:Best breakfast in Samui! Location perfect on the far end of Fishermans Village. Beach is nice, and so are the beachtowels/sunbeds. A bit on the expensive side, but worth the extra.

Review 86:There was an unpleasant moist smell in the room.

Review 87:Pool was really nice and big. Breakfast was really good. We had lunch and some cocktails at the pool area, lunch was really tasty, cocktails were really good, try mango daiquiri. It was also nice to spend time at the beach area.

Review 88:The set up and location are absolutely magnificent. Total relaxation, close proximity to fun shopping restaurant etc.... Excellent food at the hotel. Superb service.

Review 89:The shower room is open glass, it is inconvenient for my father and me to stay in during the shower time.

Review 90:The room facility is very good with a big window face to the seaside.

Review 91:There isn't much privacy in the room with the open shower

Review 92:Great location, a beautiful resort with nice view from the balcony. Spacious rooms. Very friendly staff. Lots of restaurants nearby

Review 93:The location of the hotel is great. Enjoyed the openness and the infinity pool. Service in all areas was excellent. Also proximity to Fishermen's village as also to various restaurants was very welcome.

Review 94:(Very) small road/walkway between the beach and the hotel. Okay if you want to watch the world go by from you balcony.

Review 95:Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of restaurants and shops on the doorstep.

Review 96:excellent hotel with very goooood location. Close to FIsherman village. The balcony is a little bit dirty but the view is sooooo good! room and bed are very nice. Will back someday!

Review 97:Everything was great!!!! Little bit pricey is my only complaint!!!!

Review 98:It was a brilliant place to stay the staff were great and couldn't do enough for us!! The rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious. Great facilities! The pool was brilliant and so was the cocktail bar!!!

Review 99:Unfortunately we stayed only 3 nights.

Review 100:As soon as you reach the hotel entrance you immediately understand that this is a stunning luxury hotel. Well renovated, very big and spacious rooms, cleaned twice a day. Amazing swimming pool. Perfectly located (50 m from the characteristic fishermen's village). Staff very nice.

Review 101:Charged an excessive amount for a late check out and all of the prices given by the concierge were marked up quite a bit so we just booked a lot of things on our own.

Review 102:Location was great, we liked Bo Phutmuch better than Cha Weng and the Hansar is right on the beach and walkable to restaurants and shopping. The free/included breakfast was great as well.

Review 103:Our room was a great size - not enormous, but roomy and comfortable, with a great balcony, which all the rooms seem to have, all facing the pool & beach. The location was excellent though admittedly we were content not to stray too far. All within walking distance was the Fisherman's Village and we had great restaurants, massage parlors (both inexpensive and higher end), bars and tons of shopping. If we had wanted to see more of the island, I'm sure we could have hired a tuktuk, as there were tons always just outside. The fact is, we loved the resort and were happy to lounge and enjoy our time there after our very busy two weeks prior in north Thailand. We took day to go to Ko Tao and Ko Pha Ngan, all which we easily arranged with reception. A word of advice - unless you take the more expensive option with the large, slower boat, you'll be on a 90 minute (each way) speedboat ride. All the tours operate more or less the same. My advice? They will offer you a dramamine (motion sickness pill) before the boat departs: take it. I generally have a very strong stomach and by the end of the outbound ride, I was hoping i wouldn't need a barf bag, like many many others did. Out of the 30 or so people i could see, at least 8 used the bags (often multiple bags), another 8 or so had them ready, and the rest of us were a little green. Thankfully I took one for the return - completely changed the trip. All of the staff we encountered were always pleasant and helpful. One of my pet peeves is going to a nice place like this, only to have surly and unhelpful staff put a damper on things. Not here!About the beach - it's small but quite big enough for everyone staying there (hotel was sold out while were there). It is not a sand beach, so if that's what you're looking for, you won't find it here. Instead you get small/medium size pebbles.

Review 104:Excellent hotel, very clean & modern. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Bo phut is a fantastic location and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 105:Shower pressure, made it had to wash hair. Have to resign into WiFi each time you get to your room.. apart from that everything else is just spectacular

Review 106:Bistro H is one of the best restaurants ive ever been too. Staff were amazing. We had a late flight the day we were checking out, staff allowed us to move into another room so we could shower etc (our room was booked), this was so nice of them. Breakfast is really nice. Pool staff amazing, heaps of pool beds. Beach beds limited though, used by random people. Pillows are amazing omg..

Review 107:The only drawback is,if u are late eaters then u better get ur own food from chewang as no restaurant is open after 11..but the staff is sweet enough to arrange u late dinner from hotels next to them as in Anatara..

Review 108:It's a beautiful place to stay from all the hush bush of chewang beach..if traveling with kids or on honeymoon it's a perfect place to stay..I love it & recommend to everyone traveling to samui..worth every penny spend..!

Review 109:Great place to relax and enjoy the sea. Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and large mall not too far away.About 20 mins from airport.

Review 110:Very convenient location at Bo Phang beach, walking distance to Fisherman Village with many cafes and restaurants. Very family friendly area, not party-party but still lots of fun life.

Review 111:You can't snorkel in the beach, and the waves are sometimes strong. The bed was too soft, and one of them creaks. The linens originally given were worn, but housekeeping gladly replaced with nice fluffy ones. In the layout of our room, once the main door was opened, it gives the incoming version the view of the shower - and there's no door - perhaps this should be rethought of. It would be nice to have a bath tub in the room too.

Review 112:Breakfast was excellent. Location was right next to restaurants, beach area was clean and the pool and gym were nice. Very relaxing to stay in the outdoor balcony area (very big space).

Review 113:everything is expensive not only the hotel but the hole island.

Review 114:de incheck was amazing. afther a long trip we had a really good and warm welcome. nice! everybody is really friendly specialy Dom the pool guy. people are real, not over the top. pool is amazing. restaurant is good.

Review 115:If I'm be picky, the Air-conditioning in the room was a bit noisy.

Review 116:Imagine paradise.. And this is how it could be like. Rooms are spacious, soft beds and a really great balcony! We had an early checkout (before breakfast) and we got a really nice breakfast box! Great service! And food in the restaurant is better than many michel-star restaurants! Can recommend dining under the stars to everyone!

Review 117:Absolutely nothing! Being picky we would recommend booking tours outside the hotel, due to the price difference

Review 118:This hotel is everything you expect when visiting the island. Excellent view, rooms, amenities and staff! Even the breakfast was incredible

Review 119:From the airport pickup, my entire experience at the Hansar wasdelightful. After spending 22 days trekking the Annapurna Circuit, Iknew I would be exhausted and my stay at the Hansar Samui was designedas a touch of luxury to refresh myself after the arduous journey. So clean, such comfort, quiet and spacious, every detail was looked after by the friendly and helpful staff. A clear highlight was the restaurant. I had intended to eat at several places nearby but found myself back at the Hansar for every meal. My only regret was that I didn't have opportunity to try everything on the menu! I will definitely be back.

Review 120:Nothing, truly! We would come back in a heartbeat.

Review 121:Staff were so friendly and helpful The restaurant was the best we have experienced The cocktails at the pool bar were amazing - we couldn't leave! The location is stunning - picture perfect Rooms and facilities were faultless Any needs were well accommodated - ie hire car, organising taxis.

Review 122:I thought restaurant prices were a little high, but that is my only semi-negative comment. We would return.

Review 123:Weather. Friendly staff. Very close to the many restaurants, bars and shops in Fishermen Village. Various activities available; doing nothing is also nice. Nice rooms, nice pool, good gym. A good place to relax.

Review 124:The location was excellent! Staff were amazing and would always be smiling and making the day perfect. The view was breathtaking and the rooms were amazing !!! Loved it !!!

Review 125:Water pressure was low and water temperature kept changing in shower. Beach sand not soft but still lovely

Review 126:Exactly like the photos, very comfy bed, free unlimited water, nice beach gorgeous pool, 2 min to fishermans village

Review 127:The beach is okay but not the sand, kinda little rocky.

Review 128:I like foot massage, it's so nice and relaxing though a bit expensive (like 6 times higher than outside the hotel) but I will give it another try if i can get back again. Besides, the food, a sincere services given by the staff is way superb. It seems like we can always seek the tourist information from those friendly staffs. Ohhhh...Especially, in the early morning before our flight, Hansar staff has offered to arrange the breakfast package for two of us, just to make sure we didn't miss their meals. I love getting back again. Thanks Hansar.

Review 129:Great location with a handy walk to town On the beach so you have a choice of the pool or the ocean Staff were very friendly and helpful Wouldn't hesitate to revisit

Review 130:Swimming pool, breakfast, lunch, bar with regular happy hours, close to beach, close to Fishermans village market & shops. Excellent staff.
