Reviews for La Villa des Fleurs

Review 1:Only a very trivial point; the loungers had a covering of bird excrement (we noticed this had been removed on the morning of our departure).

Review 2:We were delighted with the welcome we received. The receptionist was also very helpful and sympathetic when my wife was a bit poorly. The htel has all the trappings of grandeur but there are no airs or graces. An expansive garden should you choose to relax, read etc. Very close to the train station.

Review 3:When the facade is complete, the outside will be as nice as the inside.

Review 4:We rarely splurge on a hotel but decided to stay here for 2 nights. What a superb experience from the start. Secure and ample parking for our car and other valuable cars on site. Staff top notch.

Review 5:The only (very tiny) issue was that at a certain moment we could hear some music that sounded like it was from a nightclub. I had read this on another review and was afraid it would go on for a long time but actually it only seemed to last 10-15 minutes. Perhaps on a weekend in the summer it might be louder though....

Review 6:This hotel was everything a hotel should be and for the low price we paid we were incredibly happy with what we got!!!! The hotel was really lovely in every way (It is a small hotel so has a friendly feeling) and even though it was an old-style (beautifully designed!) building all the facilities were very clean and modern including heating, bathrooms, appliances in rooms etc. The staff couldn't be more helpful also and the breakfast was a lovely buffet of breads & spreads, meats, cheese, fruit and yoghurt. The location is fantastic too - right in the centre of spa and you can get a small discount on the entry to Thermes de Spa by purchasing it at the hotel. The parking on site is also ideal and is locked at night for security.

Review 7:A very nice place to stay a couple of days and get to know the town of Spa and the Thermes. Friendly staff and a very good breakfast. The rooms are decorated with taste, like the rest of the hotel.

Review 8:Possible a bit expensive for a Best Western, but it is a very nice, good quality hotel.

Review 9:My partner and I loved our stay here. The staff were very friendly, and it was only a short walk to the Thermes (highly recommended - very relaxing). Our bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotless. Breakfast was tasty, too. Also, free parking was a bonus.

Review 10:We booked this hotel because of the nice breakfast but it was not more than a few choices of bread, 3 choices of cold meats. Some cold fruits, milk and cereals. On the hotels website they describe a wonderful breakfast. Perhaps use to have a 'copious breakfast' in the past, but they really need to take the word copious out of their advertisement and replace it for continental breakfast. Offered Facilities were limited. After breakfast no possibilities to order food or a small snack. They refer you to another location but with small children that is unconvenient.

Review 11:Very nice hotel, very nicely decorated, in lively centre of the village private parking, nice big garden

Review 12:our room was quite small-16-, the bed was against the wall and therefore hard to get in.

Review 13:Very interesting building, great breakfast, free parking, great location-could walk everywhere. Nice bathroom and shower.

Review 14:A little more pricey than necessary.

Review 15:Bieng woken up in the morning by the smell of fresh croissants - wonderful. Private and secure car parking, proximity to Spa centre, all round quality of the hotel and the staff.

Review 16:The approach was difficult due to road works in the Main Street . I also had a problem with the hotel saying I must pay extra for my husband's breakfasts even though I had booked and paid for a double room for two people with breakfast. Even when Booking ,com asked for a refund the hotel refused but the problem is being dealt with a refund to be paid by Booking, com. There was only one name on booking form and so hotel would not acknowledge that payment had been for two.

Review 17:Accommodation very comfortable and breakfast good.

Review 18:Having to leave after 2 nights!

Review 19:Warm and friendly welcome from reception, great location, off road parking. Beautiful decor and style of building and interior. Only 10 mins drive to Spa Francorchamps circuit, close to many great restaurants (suggest Auberge only 100 metres down the road for an elegant dining experience) and only 5 mins walk from lift to Spa Baths (must be done!).

Review 20:We informed hotel this was a honeymoon stay, but we ended up with the smallest, most noisy room, which a double bed that you could only access from one side - with only enough room to just open the door - which was right next to a VERY noisy lift, which woke up repeatedly during the night!

Review 21:the breakfast is very nice but some "English breakfast" component (eggs, bacon) would have been nice for a 4 star hotel

Review 22:extremely friendly and helpful staff, spacious room, everything you need is there. small discount for the thermal station, which is just 5 minutes away.

Review 23:We unfortunately got one of the few rooms that are close to the elevator and both mornings we had people speaking and leaving from reasonably early. Those on the other side of the building are probably better.

Review 24:Fantastic hotel. Very clean room, spotless towels and linen. Very kind staff. Very good breakfast. You can even buy tickets for the thermes at a reduced price. We really enjyed our stay

Review 25:It's best to bring earplugs: it's an old building with a lot of charm, but the acoustic isolation is not very good.

Review 26:Excellent location in the center of Spa, very professional staff and a beautiful old building. Breakfast was also excellent.

Review 27:Our first floor room was on the road side and the traffic noise disturbed me, occasionally during the night, but especially from about 6am onwards. Ask for a room over-looking the garden if the noise will trouble your sleep.

Review 28:Another Best Western Hotel in a beautiful, ornate old building, run as a family concern. This one was very clean with period furnishings and a welcoming entrance. Our room was very spacious with a wide bed, lovely bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was plentiful although not too varied and could be taken outside in the spacious garden in good weather. A proper bar would have been a bonus although the well stocked mini-bar in your room contained most drinks and one could order more from reception. Their 'sister' Best Western, a few minutes around the corner, housed an excellent restaurant.

Review 29:Nothing

Review 30:Beautifull hotel with friendly and professional staf! Perfect for a relaxing and luxurious weekend in Spa.

Review 31:Central location/secure parking/excellent breakfast/well kept gardens

Review 32:Wonderful and helpful staff, very nice ambiance

Review 33:The landlady was verry friendly and helped us a lot with her excellent advice. Thanks again!

Review 34:Wifi did not work well in our room.

Review 35:Beautiful hotel and very courteous staff. Great location, everything perfect.

Review 36:breakfast ....was good.... but I typically love to have a fuller, richer spread....

Review 37:the ambience...

Review 38:The façade was ander reconstruction

Review 39:The atmosfeer, classic interieur

Review 40:The breakfast is particularly poor. All in all, quite an expensive hotel for the quality offered.

Review 41:The central location of the hotel is the main plus.

Review 42:room, location, price

Review 43:Friendliness, breakfast

Review 44:Very nice, comfortable and friendly place, close to everything in Spa yet off the main road.

Review 45:You could hear what's going on in the other rooms around.

Review 46:WiFi erratic. System needs replacing urgently.

Review 47:Great location. Parking. Garden. Beautiful interior. Plenty of space

Review 48:Nothing!!

Review 49:Everything!!

Review 50:Street noise

Review 51:Warm welcome Breakfast included Beautiful building Location

Review 52:Excellent and friendly staff and the quality of the whole hotel.

Review 53:Very well placed hotel in Spa, very good quality, friendly staff. One I will visit again in the future.

Review 54:Food available for breakfast was of good quality but no cooked food offered.

Review 55:Wonderful staff who made us very welcome. Beautiful room overlooking garden.

Review 56:Nothing, everything was excellent.

Review 57:Staff, villa, room, breakfast, location all excellent, highly recommended for a visit to the region or to any events at Circuit Spa Francorchamps.

Review 58:Unfortunately, they are trying to run the hotel on a shoestring with only 1 person dealing with guests checking out whilst trying to cook eggs for other guests. Also, my wife and I have a devil of a job trying to convince him that we did not use the hotel's telephone to make any calls, apart from calling reception to say that we had no hot water, which was not fixed during our stay. Our checkout took over 20 minutes to be completed, not including waiting in line behind other guests also trying to checkout. Beware, our room had no air conditioning.

Review 59:Location

Review 60:On our last morning we could only have our eggs boiled, rather than any other way that we had experienced over the previous two mornings (small but important point).

Review 61:Large and comfortable room.

Review 62:A bit too expensive for what you get. No bathtub, unstable wifi connection, not all staff - although really friendly - speaks English or Dutch

Review 63:Well-located, very quiet, great breakfast, friendly staff, big rooms

Review 64:Squeaky floors

Review 65:Excellent location in the center, a beautiful mansion with a nice garden and periode atmosphere, a big comfortable bed, a multi-language library to use in free time.

Review 66:We could not get our stroller (for baby) up to our room, due to hight stairs at entrance. Also very small elevator.

Review 67:Very nice acommodation, great room, babybed was already setup when we got there. Personnel also very friendly. Would absolutely visit again!

Review 68:The rooms are not well isolated. We could hear everything happening onthe stair and in the corridor.

Review 69:The location is perfect even when travelling without a car. Thebreakfast was of very good quality. The staff is very friendly, and itis also possible to buy discounted tickets for the thermal pools at thereception.

Review 70:I did not like the fact that it was offered as spa-possibilities.Actually there is only one thermal pool on the top of the village. Andthe guest should walk in the rain like 10 minutes, then taking somelift which costs 3 euros. Then paying and arranging themselves theentrance in the pool. It is a false announcement. Do not think you havewellness here!

Review 71:No one in the whole town spoke any English, including the clerks at the Spa. There was nothing written in English either. It was difficult to make ones wants known, or get options.

Review 72:The hotel was great! Big beautiful room and great breakfast. The spa was nice also. Not the best, but worth the trip. The hotel clerks spoke the best English in town. (Still rudimentary.)

Review 73:Didn't like the coffee machine. Bit annoyed at staying at such a nice Hotel that all three nights were marred by loud music. Was planning to use the Hotel next year but not so sure now.

Review 74:This was the second year of using the hotel, I like the cleaan large room and the location

Review 75:We booked a twin room but the bed was a six foot wide double bed with one mattress so could not be pushed apart.

Review 76:Setting, quality of fixtures in room and dining room, general ambience of the hotel, secure and secluded parking for my classic car.

Review 77:There is no bar/resteuraunt, however the hotel is linked to a sister hotel a minuites walk away

Review 78:The Hotel is an old country house in the middle of Spa, very atmospheric.

Review 79:If you go there for the week-end , there is a noisy nightclub nearby, that is the only complain we have about the hotel.

Review 80:Very nice, with a good positioning for the SPA.

Review 81:Breakfast could have had more options.

Review 82:The staff was very outgoing and helpful. We arrived before the room was ready and the staff provided us with towels to take to the spa. We were also able to buy discounted tickets from the hotel. The spa was a few blocks from the hotel. Parking was free.

Review 83:Beautiful small hotel on the doorstep of the funicular for the spa. Also a short walk to a great flea market on Sunday mornings! Staff were great and the hotel was wonderful.

Review 84:Don't pay €120 for the double room. Its so small. Not normal! And onbooking.com you see the wrong photos only from bigger rooms. Be aware.

Review 85:Nice hotel

Review 86:Difficulty to cook boiled eggs properly but it is always the case in hotels ! Slippers missing in bedroom

Review 87:The location in the center of Spa, the calm, the style, decoration

Review 88:An individual hotel that is quirky ,comfortable and relaxing right in the heart of Spa that serves a delightful breakfast - you can smell the fresh pastries wafting up the stairs early in the morning. As its name suggests the scent of flowers as you enter reception is wonderful and the staff are delightful - nothing is too much trouble it seems. Good value for money , although they come under Best Westerns "umbrella" it is independantly owned and operated by one family ,long may they continue to prosper in the business.

Review 89:We booked early this year and asked for quiet rooms. Our rooms were on abusy road. We also got the smallest rooms in the building. We expectedto find a nicer Best Western then the one we stayed in the week beforein Bruges where we had nice big rooms and superior breakfasts, as Lavilla des Fleurs is a Best Western Premier and we were verydisappointed.

Review 90:The exterior and interior of the building.Except for our small rooms.

Review 91:They could have a few more choices for the breakfast buffet..

Review 92:I have no complaints. It was a small, quaint hotel with lovelyfurnishings and very high ceilings. I felt like a guest insomeone's home..

Review 93:There is no restaurant/bar so if you did want to relax and have a drink in the evening this was not possible. However, just a short walk away you have all of this in the centre of Spa.

Review 94:Excellent location in the heart of Spa, close to all amenities and restaurants/bars. Only 20 minutes drive from Spa Francorchamps.Very good service from what appeared to be a single member of staff. Excellent, large rooms which were clean, comfortable and had everything working. Free parking, Wi-Fi, breakfast all included.

Review 95:The location of the hotel close to the spa and the wonderful ambience of this building made for a very enjoyable stay in Spa. This town and area are hidden gems and this hotel and staff convinced us to return with our friends.

Review 96:The room was very nice , the only thing we did not liked is that the bedwas 2 single beds pushed together and that is very unconfortable whentraveling as a couple. I asked and they said that there are only 2 roomsfrom the 22 in the hotel with double beds . The matresses were veryconfortable indeed.

Review 97:I liked everything , the location is great as it is near very goodrestaurants and only 5 minutes walk to the elevator for the Thermen.Around also some nice shops. The rooms are confortable and with goodtaste decorated. The breakfast was a small bufet but everything freshand we had a nice table were we could enjoy the garden They offered bathrobes and towels for the Thermen and we could uses them also the lastday and return them later on the day long after we have checked out.

Review 110:Friendly staff

Review 111:Spacious clean room, location close to spa funicular.

Review 112:we liked everything

Review 113:The shower was rather small.

Review 114:Great atmosphere, kind staff, very comfortable bed, and a fine breakfast in a lovely breakfast room.

Review 115:Uncomfortable beds.

Review 116:Very good location, close to the Thermes, very kind staff.

Review 117:No fresh towels each day

Review 118:Fabulous building

Review 119:rooms too small, noise, breakfast too limited

Review 120:design of the hotel, garden, friendly staff, clean, location

Review 121:Our room was next to the elevator and sometimes noisy.

Review 122:Nice 19th century villa with a nice quiet garden in the centre of Spa: to be recommended!
