Reviews for Gull Lake Lodge
Review 1:Not too professional. Utilities were not up to par. Slow moving staff. Supplies were limited in the unit.
Review 2:Nice and cozy space. Convienient location near both the lake and the mountain.
Review 3:The only issue is that there are nobody in the reception. It was not a problem because I left a message there and it worked.
Review 4:It is an old building, but everything working well including a very good internet.
Review 5:I love this location. A very short drive 1 mile or less to June Mountain for winter fun. And a short walk to the lake in the summer. Great place. I have been coming here for the last 15 years on and off. June mountain is a wonderful family mountain where kids ski free and you never get the crowds and chaos of Mammoth... The kitchenette and well stocked kitchen make this spot a wonderful affordable place to stay when in the June Lake/Gull lake area. Not a far walk to the Tiger Bar or the Brewery either...
Review 6:In unit #10 there were cold air drafts coming into the room from the window near the kitchen table. It was cold enough to to make the food cold in five minutes. The WiFi speed was woefully slow at 0.18 Mb/sec. I was expecting at least 5 Mb/sec. The TV was small. I was expecting at least a 37 inch widescreen. I would have liked a bit more storage space for clothes/drawers.
Review 7:Liked having a heater in the bathroom. Loved having a kitchen. The Futon sofa bed was firm and very comfortable. Probably the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. Good square footage to the suite.
Review 8:Well, the cob webs were everywhere, in every corner behind every bed, chair, cabinet, tv, etc. The worst was two black widows right where the silverware drawer was, right where my wife had her hand. I'm surprised she didn't get bit. I killed two of them in the same general location which gave us all in the cabin the creeps. To tell you the truth we wouldn't stay there again because of this. If it were generally clean it would have been one and a half thumbs up for the money.
Review 9:I liked the cabin, facilities, location was ok.
Review 10:No complaints.
Review 11:We rarely book on line, but this was very easy. The room turned out to be a small apartment, very cozy! Comfortable bed, delightful furnishings, quiet. We didn't use the gas stove or microwave, but they're available. Nice big shower, every room was clean. Walking distance to the main street with great restaurants, shopping, groceries. Highly recommended!
Review 12:None
Review 13:Beautiful room clean and well kept. Lovely clean bathroom. Everything around us was closed due to season so we had to entertain ourselves at mammoth lakes but still drove the 10 miles to Gull Lake for some home to home. Kim is wonderful super nice and helpful. We will definitely be back in the summer
Review 14:No cleaning station, but there is one at Gull Lake about 80 yards away
Review 15:Real nice place if your in town for fishing. Stayed here right before fishing season came to an end. This place is near, Gull, June, silver, lakes and not far from Lee Vining. The rooms have a nice kitchen and cozy feel to it.
Review 16:Not as wheel chair accessible as I thought it would be. Was given first floor room and made it clear had my mother with who is in a wheel chair and has mobility issues. The first floor room that was given had a aprox. 7 inch step off..I called Management and they quickly put us in first floor with least step off (aprox 3 inches-my mother still couldn't go outside on her own). The floors inside are all wc. accessible but the doorways are narrow and the bathroom is not equipped for someone in a wheelchair/mobility issues.. My mother couldn't take a shower, and needed assistant with the toilet --but it didn't take away for our fondness of the place and the wonderful time we had ...We'll definitely be going back and I highly rec. the place-especially for those with well behaved dogs..
Review 17:Location.The rooms and bed and linens. Doggie friendly. Cleanliness
Review 18:Booked the night before and key was waiting for me when we arrived late. So easy! I've stayed here several times with my pups and have always enjoyed my stay.
Review 19:Nothing.
Review 20:This is an older building with nice upgrades. The rooms are nice and large - similar to one bedroom apartments. It's great to have a kitchen and a large bathroom. Wifi worked great. They are very dog friendly without adding extra fees. This was our second visit and we plan to stay here again.
Review 21:It would have been nice to meet the host or manager, but they made access to our room very easy.
Review 22:The property was in a beautiful location and the amenities were comfortable, clean, cozy and charming. I was nicely surprised to learn there was a small kitchen space and living space. I would enjoy coming back for a longer stay.
Review 23:Booked a room for four adults. The couch for the other two persons was old and uncomfortable and nothing was prepared for their stay - we had to find out how to use the couch as a daybed and had to put the bed linen ourselves! There was no staff at the reception neither at check-in nor at check-out. Left a message, however, they did not call back. We got some help with the couch after we called again. Worst value for money on our whole trip.
Review 24:Near Yosemite park and close to the lake. The kitchen. Master bedroom was nice and clean.
Review 25:We had a great overnight trip to your hotel. Our key was waiting for us earlier than expected. It was very quiet and was in walking distance to the tiger bar where we went to dinner.
Review 26:Right down the road from a beautiful little lake and an hour long hike through an aspen grove. Walk to a local brewery with great beer and small town friendly atmosphere. Only 35 minutes from the east end of Yosemite and Mammoth.
Review 27:Everything is as it should be. No changes necessary
Review 28:It's old fashioned, very clean and well maintained, just a block to the lake and a very nice children's playground. It reminded me of the better places we stayed when I was traveling with my family in the 1950s. I'd stay there again.
Review 29:Kitchen stove did not work, futon furniture needs new cushions (very flat & uncomfortable).
Review 30:G.L. Lodge is always very clean, beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked.
Review 31:The double suite was very clean and nicely furnished. Kitchen was equipped with a small stove, nice fridge, coffeemaker and microwave. We had a view of the mountain from upstairs. Super nice staff. We booked it again for another stay. Close to both June and Gull Lakes for fishing.
Review 32:There were 9 of us in total and we rented 2 rooms (each accommodating up to 5 people). The rooms were spacious and clean. Useful small kitchen for a 1-night use. The Gull Lake was a short walk away and was beautiful. Quite a few eateries within walking distance and short drive away. Would stay again
Review 33:The bed was hard. There is no air conditioning and even with windows open It was too hot at night. Seating in living room was uncomfortable.
Review 34:Very clean. Nice linens. Good parking. Good Wifi.
Review 35:Nothing to complain about.
Review 36:Not pretty to look at but all you needed was there - a relaxed and functional stay, to explore the area. Good communications for order confirmation.
Review 37:They do need to update their web presence if they have not already. The listing specifically said that they had air-conditioning but in fact they do not.
Review 38:Comfortable and spacious accommodations. The hotel is nestled between two lakes and the whole area is just beautiful. I had my dog with me as well and there were no issues.
Review 39:The location is ideal: walking distance to Gull Lake, restaurants and shops in town. Our room was a small apartment with all the comforts you would want.
Review 40:TV needs to be bigger for the size room it is. All in room power is only 2 prong so if you need it for your computer bring an adapter.
Review 41:King bed was great! Housekeeping was excellent. We went during a cold snap and the heater wS in great working order and kept us toasty.
Review 42:Didn't have HBO as promised. But not a big issue since we spent most of our time outdoors.
Review 43:Great space for the price. And beautiful scenery to go with it.
Review 44:We noticed there were imprinted body pressed in the bed so it was a little uncomfortable. Another would be the noise from other rooms. We can hear when they turned on water or their heater, but I'm not sure if that can be fixed. The WiFi lagged.
Review 45:I love all the essentials. We had everything right there.
Review 46:Only bad thing was having to continually put chain back on handle in toilet tank. Kept falling off allowing water to keep running.
Review 47:Everything clean, efficient water heater and wall heater. Good mattress. Beautiful view.
Review 48:Coffeemaker didn't work after the first day and electricity seemed spotty.
Review 49:Convenient and close to June Mountain. Quaint town and close to library and park. Perfect for my kid and myself for why we needed it for. SNOW!!
Review 50:I wish it wasn't 5 and and a half hours away.
Review 51:Every room is an apartment with a full kitchen, pots and pans, everything you need to feel right at home. They are dog lovers. The WiFi is bountiful. If you want a fancy hotel with lots of fancy stuff this isn't your place. If you want a comfortable place where you don't have to worry about your dog getting things dirty this is great. This is my second time and I will go back many more.
Review 52:Bad noise isolation and Unlucky to have Noisy neighbors and energetic kids jumping upstairs.
Review 53:Walking distance to the lakes. Nice location, full kitchen made us feel like home.
Review 54:nothing. Everything was great
Review 55:one-bedroom is good for a group of people. There were three of us and it was spacious. The hotel is located in the area close to the lake and close to the main road, so it was nice to walk around and avoid road noises.
Review 56:"Didn't like having to leave"
Review 57:Perfect location near lakes & shops. Staff very friendly, clean comfy rooms with convenient kitchen & outdoor BBQ.
Review 58:No staff on arrival. Furniture rather shabby and run down. view from the room of a rather abandoned lot.
Review 59:Room facilities were perfectly adequate for the purpose. Quiet street
Review 60:Living room just not comfortable. Futon sofa and chair not good to sit for long. Lighting too dim for reading in the living room.
Review 61:Bed was very comfortable. Towels changed daily. Good coffee pot, toaster, microwave and small gas stove. Bathroom spacious and warm due to in room heater. Water hot. Reading lights in bedroom adequate and there is a light on each side of the bed. Management was flexible when we had to delay arrival by a day--shifted departure date to accommodate us. Very quiet at night. Plenty of outlets, TV nice, gas furnace kept rooms cozy on cold nights.
Review 62:The fact that you all had a bear visitor and we had to keep windows closed. It got quite warm. But the fan you provided helped some.
Review 63:Came there to fish so it is a perfect location and everyone was very nice and accommodating. Caught fish too..
Review 64:Nothing to report!
Review 65:Rooms are more like a 1 bedroom apartment; Friendly atmosphere; Older style with updated bathroom; Free WiFi; Cable TV (couldn't miss college football!); Dog friendly; Walk to either Gull or June Lakes
Review 66:Decor outdated. Never seen Brown bedsheets before.
Review 67:Self check in on late arrival - easy and convenient. Large appartment - not just a room! Kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom. Could stay for a week to explore the area (we only had one night). Beautiful area. It is not easy for day tripping to Yosemite - bit too far - but beautiful area. Mono lake and forest near.
Review 68:I'm allergic to dust-mites and had my worst allergy-attack in my life staying here 2 nights. The carpets must not have had a good deep cleaning in years. If ever. Right now I'm sitting in a hotel room in Monterey, also with wall-to-wall carpet cover, and not even a single sneeze.
Review 69:Spacious room with separate bedroom and the fridge. Friendly girl handing us our room keys.
Review 70:Walls are a little thin and floors are creaky, but it was A very charming place to stay
Review 71:Fully equipped kitchen, room was ultra clean! Nice, large , modern bathroom, great shower
Review 72:No air conditioning, heat was coming from some sort of heater, not able to work the tv and there was no personel to ask after certain time on the evening.
Review 73:Rooms are in need of upgrades and there is a horrible old/moldy smell in rooms. Staff was very hard to get in touch with, we tried a few times to contact staff for different reasons in just a couple of days and each time no one was available through out the day.
Review 74:Very close to Gull lake and was able to check in early.
Review 75:Great setup for a family or group. The facility is clean and nice to be off the main road through town. We've stayed here before and find it works well if you're looking for a comfortable, informal environment. Like that it is dog friendly.
Review 76:There was a gas leak in the heater so the room smelled of gas so we had to have all the windows open the entire time. The furnishings were pre- 1970's thrift store quality. Overall run-down. No lake view what so ever!
Review 77:The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious
Review 78:Loved our room. Especially the heater in the bathroom!
Review 79:Clean, comfortable, and very good value for the price. Quiet property with mountain and lake views.
Review 80:Small things that go a long way: clean and comfortable; power strip by the bed; good wifi; heated floor in bathroom(!!)
Review 81:The bed was very comfortable.
Review 82:The facility was well maintained
Review 83:Strange smell in the kitchen. Said it slept 4 but the futons really were more for kids not adults.
Review 84:Large size, great bathroom, close to ski resort.

Review 91:Nothing

Review 95:Small tv. No Kleenex
Review 96:Like the separate bedroom and kitchen with a living room
Review 97:Not having anyone in the office...limited eating choices in town.
Review 98:The kitchen is fully equipped and room clean. The walk around Gull lake is great.
Review 99:I liked everything about gull lake lodge, not one single complaint
Review 100:Warm and comfy
Review 101:Need to WD 40 the doors.
Review 102:The room was larger than expected.
Review 103:Very friendly staff
Review 104:This is a cute motel that would accommodate a longer stay quite easily. It's located about a 5 minute walk from June Lake.
Review 105:Much too expensive for what you get. No nice views, and the room badly, BADLY needed an update! Will never book here again.
Review 106:Furnishing is dated
Review 107:Large place, an apartment type accommodation with fully equipped kitchen.
