Reviews for Wilbraham Mansion

Review 1:Only issue, no closet space. For a fall visit a coat rack not the best option. Next time, will get a room in the back.

Review 2:Hospitality. Great staff. Very cozy. Great breakfast. Good location, close enough to town center. Will stay there again and use the heated pool and bikes.

Review 3:There was only one breakfast at nine am and no choices. Food was tasteless and generic.

Review 4:The mattress and bedding we're very comfortable. It was a nice walk to town. Nice indoor pool and staff was very friendly. Good parking.

Review 5:Wouldn't like to have seen a menu for breakfast ahead of time. They only had regular milk. What about the people lac raid intolerant

Review 6:It was nice a bit pricey

Review 7:I liked everything, but a small table with a couple of chairs to play cards on would be nice, and a place in the bathroom for toothbrush, comb, shaver would be nice also. (not complaining though)

Review 8:People, bed, breakfast, cleanliness all very good Enjoyed the little park across the street Doug was very helpful with recommendations

Review 9:Our stay at Wilbraham Mansion was as perfect as we had hoped it would be. Its pretty pricy, but worth every penny. I proposed to my girlfriend here, and it could not have gone better. The area is beautifull, and the mansion is just so tranquil and romantic. We stayed in one of the suites With jeted tub, and it was lovely. I would recommend this place to all couples.

Review 10:Cheap toiletries. Might as well have stayed in a hotel or motel. Did not feel like a B&B except for the breakfast. Had hoped to stay in the old house for the price.

Review 11:Clean. Jacuzzi. Good breakfast.

Review 12:The Wilbraham Mansion never fails to please as a pleasant, elegant oasis in Cape May. This was our second visit and we will be returning again. We love the location - 5 minutes from the center of town and secure onsite parking. Beautiful landscaping and nearby park, as well as lovely restored mansion give the full "Cape May" experience. The mews-style new addition is decorated with updated period decor. Most importantly, it is one of the few historical properties with an elevator and disability accommodations.

Review 13:The B&B is within walking distance of everything, but tucked away just enough to get a peaceful nights rest. The staff were very friendly and made you feel at home.

Review 14:Room was small and furnished without any comfortable chairs and not nearly enough light. Add-on bathroom has a very steep step and needs shelves or place to put personal things as also very small. Bureau drawers are broken and do not close properly. Window shades do not roll properly. Metal frame has been put on a Victorian double bedstead to accommodate a queen mattress and box spring but metal frame has very sharp corners that are dangerous. Room AC very, very loud so as to make watching TV difficult. Not as charming as expected.

Review 15:Breakfast was good and enclosed pool is great. Location has pleasant surroundings.

Review 16:pool was great, room was really nice, not as pricey as other places. close to everything. staff was extremely accommodating. felt like home. would stay again.

Review 17:Everything was great, the mansion is located close to all the shops and the beach. The staff was awesome, so friendly. Made us feel like we were home.We can'you wait to come back.

Review 18:If it was a little more affordable we would have stayed longer.

Review 19:This was our first time at a B & B. It was really a nice experience. I loved the old antiques of the place. It was very quite and clean.

Review 20:For us the breakfast and teas were too late. In our opinion the breakfast should run from 8am to 10 am and the tea from 2pm to 4pm. Also, we did not find it appropriate that the staff smoking break was held on the front steps near the main porch and entrance where we were reading.

Review 21:Location. Bed was comfortable. Dining rooms were very nice. Parking was very convenient.

Review 22:Room 6 is a small tight space with stained carpet and not couple friendly. Only one chair to sit on.

Review 23:Breakfast , Pool, Bikes. Bathroom is new and adequate.

Review 24:Very friendly! While the free Internet was an issue during our stay the owner did everything possible to correct on their end. Will definitely be back again!

Review 25:Cost. Very pricey. Room was a bit small but "quaint." The staff was a little standoffish. Breakfast was delicious but the cost was over what we got in return.

Review 26:loved the facility, beautiful place and very beautifully decorated! Great pool!

Review 27:We thought we booked a suite and didn't realize we had booked a room, a little confusing.

Review 28:The entire experience was great,as it was our 1st time staying in a bed and breakfast. Atmosphere and setting was perfect.

Review 29:The bed was not comfortable for me or my wife. Nor was the TV viewing angle good, as you had to lie sideways in the bed, or sit up.

Review 30:The staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. The house was very clean, and the location was good.

Review 31:TV complicated; Rm #6 While the mansion itself is historic with nice amenities, the room price was a bit high for a B & B; Bathroom a bit tight and that step down out of the bathroom is dangerous; Maybe next time I will try the annex

Review 32:friendly staff; location good restaurant suggestions clean

Review 33:The only suggestion I would have for the Jacuzzi was some kind of handle to get out. My wife didn't use it for fear of not being able to get up and slipping and falling.

Review 34:We liked the location. It was a quiet street. The room, which was one of the suites was just lovely. The food was excellent and the use of the house was exceptional. My wife loved the pool and I enjoyed the Jacuzzi in our room. Doug was a wealth of information about the house and the attractions especially the eateries.

Review 35:Stayed in the original house not the new building) and everything felt a bit shabby and the pool ( which was the main reason for our choice) desperately needed updating. The pool looked dirty although it wasn't. Not at all appealing!

Review 36:The breakfasts were. Very good as was the food for afternoon tea. Staff was excellent!

Review 37:We had NO areas that we felt needed anyone's attention. We also stayed in #301, right next to the elevator...convenient and there was no noise at all!

Review 38:Loved the food, staff, elevator in the suites building, our room was very lovely. Doug gave great rainy day suggestions and it was a very relaxed trip!

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:Congenial Owner and Staff Beautiful Accomodations Variety of rooms to choose from Phenomenal heated indoor pool Excellent breakfasts , tasty and plentiful and varied Refreshments throughout the day Comfortable and Cozy and Elegant all at the same time. Nothing not to like.

Review 41:Bring your own pillows. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

Review 42:Very knowledgable staff on where to go, what to see, fine dining and entertainment. Excellent breakfast - you get to know everyone. The owners know the history of the house and Cape May area.

Review 43:The breakfast starting time of 9 AM was much too late and coffee not being ready till 7:30-8 also a little late for my liking

Review 44:Was especially impressed with the owner Doug who was very accommodating and friendly towards all our needs and questions.

Review 45:The staff seemed average. They were nice enough, but didn't give that family bed and breakfast feel. Time for breakfast was never told to us, and when we sat down early, we were joked about.

Review 46:The indoor pool was key for our stay considering the rainy days. Very clean and well appointed bed and breakfast. Note the beach but for the price it can't be beat and the convenience to shopping is great.

Review 47:The air conditioning was too loud and the step to the bathroom was dangerous for us.

Review 48:The staff and owner were approachable and informative about the residence. The breakfast was excellent and well served by friendly staff.

Review 49:Lovely b&b, great food and accommodations, Close to town, very friendly and efficient staff. Quiet and peaceful environment. Loved the camaraderie at breakfast.

Review 50:Our room was in the original building, window air conditioning units. Extremely small bathroom. TV and cable box directions not clear. Bed was OK.

Review 51:Staff was very good. Breakfast was great. Would stay again but would ask for the new building.

Review 52:The location was good because it was within walking distance to beach, restaurants, and shops. The manager was very helpful with local information. We made a request for our bed and they were quick to respond in fulfilling our request. The breakfasts were very nice with a diversified menu each morning. Afternoon tea was available daily which was a nice treat after a day out.

Review 53:Great staff and food. Stayed in newer addition in very nice comfortable room. The breakfasts were excellent and the inn is very well managed. Location is great, short walk or drive to beaches. The double shower is an added plus, along with the double jacuzzi!

Review 54:The fact that I had only booked one night!

Review 55:The staff, the look / feel of the mansion, the perfect location (just a short walk from everything you need), the room (heaven!!), the amenities (I'd just come from a hotel in Wildwood which didn't even have an iron in it), the Jacuzzi, the enormous bathroom, the plentiful supply of towels, the comfy bed, the fireplace....I could go on and on!

Review 56:I loved how clean and well maintained the rooms in Wilbraham Mansion were. The staff were very nice. It was a few minutes away from the beach. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 57:Coffee could have been stronger

Review 58:We were greeted promptly, escorted to our room and made to feel at home. Breakfast was very good, fresh at varied daily. Place was lovely, very well taken care of. Easy access to areas of interest.

Review 59:Mattress was not extremely comfortable; lack of storage in the room (original house)

Review 60:Friendly, helpful staff; tasty breakfast; good value for the money

Review 61:new back house more like small hotel - lacks charm of bed and breakfast breakfast at a specific time only - 9 am communal seating at large tables for breakfast - should have option to take breakfast in room we skipped the breakfast for these reasons

Review 62:good location few blocks from beach

Review 63:The friendly staff, very professional, We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!! Convenient location to all activities! Barbara & Maurice Leominster, MA

Review 64:Our only regret was that we had to leave! Next year we are going to try to squeeze in a two night stay!

Review 65:My husband and I stayed here for an overnight getaway. We were so pleased with our room and accommodations. We stayed in the new building behind the mansion in a king suite. It was decorated in the Victorian era and was quite authentic. The indoor pool is heated; we made more use of our two person jacuzzi in our room though! At breakfast we met wonderful couples who also were pleased with their accommodations.

Review 66:I know this is old mansion but furniture drawers would not even open without force and had musty smell. Building needs some upgrading. Newer building looked lovely but we stayed in old mansion.

Review 67:- didn't supply beach tags, umbrellas or beach towels - service impersonal; felt more like hotel than B& B - breakfast so-so

Review 68:- new bathrooms - beach and restaurants within 10 min walk - supplied beach chairs - clean

Review 69:Although the breakfasts were good we would have enjoyed more of a variety in the fare. Overall, a very nice place to stay and one we would not hesitate to recommend.

Review 70:We stayed in the newer suites residence. They were very comfortable and decorated/designed to complement the original mansion. Doug was extremely informative and concerned with our comfort.

Review 71:My bed ( room 2) was not that comfortable. The other room we had, room 7 , was great.

Review 72:Perfect location. Easy walk to beach and shopping, restaurants. Showers, water pressure was great. Owners wer helpful and friendly. Sand chairs provided, so no need to lug yours to NJ!

Review 73:Breakfast served too late (9am) for us early risers so we had to miss what promised to be a lovely meal. No accommodation for early risers.

Review 74:Beautiful well maintained Victorian mansion with modern wing and indoor pool. Gracious hospitality and convenient location to Washington Street.

Review 75:We didn't like the staff smoking on the entry steps each morning.

Review 76:We enjoyed our room in the back of the facility. We enjoyed the breakfast served each morning in the dining room. We also enjoyed the indoor swimming pool used when it was raining outside.

Review 77:Room style location to shopping great food restaurants helpful with directions nice breakfast

Review 78:poor breakfast, disinterested service staff, overpriced in general

Review 79:clean, organized.

Review 80:hot and cold settings

Review 83:Su. Porches and in door heated pool

Review 84:Had no choices for breakfast. Everyone served the same thing. Very heavy food. Tea time was nice.

Review 85:Room was great.

Review 86:the extra amenities ie: beach chairs afternoon tea/cocktail hour time, and bicycles made the experience that much better.

Review 87:Proximatey

Review 88:The bed was stereotypical motel hotel hard mattress, not to comfortable

Review 89:EVERYTHING

Review 90:The very friendly staff & excellent fresh breakfasts started our mornings in a great way.

Review 91:The room was beautiful and location was great, pool accessible all thetime and great staff that explained all the available attractions.

Review 92:uncomfortable beds, hot tubs reek of chlorine,

Review 93:not allowed bubbles in the jacuzi
