Reviews for U Chiang Mai
Review 1:We had nothing but an amazing experience!
Review 2:The location in the Old City was perfect as there was so much to see nearby. The hotel staff were unbelievably polite, friendly and very helpful. The people of Thailand are so welcoming and friendly! We did not have any negative experiences at all!
Review 3:Fantastic friendly attentive staff Excellent location could walk to lots of restaurants and sights Spacious clean modern rooms with lovely linens Fruit in room each day Delicious large breakfast Exquisite pool
Review 4:There was very little that we dint like about the hotel, if being picky, as a non meat eater, I found the breakfast limited.
Review 5:The Location of this hotel was perfect. It was very central to the old town and there was plenty to do within walking distance. The staff were fantastic and that doesn't begin to describe them. The overall feeling was lovely and welcoming.
Review 6:No lift - not a problem for us.
Review 7:Central. Such a relaxing place to stay. Just 41 rooms do never felt crowded or busy. It is a lovely spot and I would recommend it very highly
Review 8:There were ongoing repair works on the property throughout our short stay. This disrupted our sleep in the mornings, except for the last day when the front desk Manager arranged for quiet hours.
Review 9:Good location, beautifully decorated room, comfortable bed. All-day breakfast was a nice touch.
Review 10:shower water too hot, when turn to cold water, water flow very slow Not enough hooks in the washroom to hang up clothes
Review 11:location good friendly and helpful staff good breakfast especially the coffee
Review 12:Amazing hotel. Extremely clean. Amazing pool. Very good breakfast. Best location in the middle of the old town and not noisy at all very friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money! Can highly recommend it and would book it again.
Review 13:none at all.
Review 14:we were upgraded to a private plunge pool facing room , which changed the equation for us, we had a swell time enjoying the waters at our convenience.
Review 15:AC was alittle too noisy..
Review 16:Excellent all day Breaky... Good spread n quality choices. Room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Good selection of beverages. Definitely look forward for another stay soon.
Review 17:Swimming pool substantial part of the day out of the sun, because of the surrounding hotelbuildings.
Review 18:The entire atmosphere. Relaxed, luxurious and beautyfully designed.
Review 19:An elegant and centrally located hotel with the nicest and most helpful staff we have ever experienced. All day breakfast and no fixed checkout time two good features.
Review 20:Ugly,run down place.Everything was old, cheaply made and grungy. The swimming pool is actually a kind of hole you can only float in.There was loud music till midnight.the trouble was that we payed the price of a luxury hotel. We had to stay for one night and we luckily found room at the Meridien.
Review 21:Staff was nice in the end
Review 22:Nothing
Review 23:The staff are very friendly. The rooms are luxurious and beds are so comfy. The swimming pool is so relaxing after a day sightseeing or for a early morning swim. The 'anytime' breakfast is a great idea!
Review 24:Our room was on the 3rd floor and was very nice and peaceful. I would recommend requesting a higher room so that you are not right near the pool to avoid noise and activity right outside your door as there are a few rooms right near the lounge chairs by the pool.
Review 25:U Chiang Mai was our 3rd stop on our honeymoon in Thailand. The hotel has a very serene, tranquil feel right when you walk through the open air doors. The staff were very accommodating. We used their airport shuttle to take us to and from the airport which was very convenient. They have a nice gym, bikes available for free, and a relaxing pool. The location was perfect for exploring the Old City of Chiang Mai and you can take a tuk tuk anywhere you need to go outside the old city if you don't want to walk. The breakfast was nice as well.
Review 26:Nothing not to like! Not cheap, but I felt it was worth the money.
Review 27:Everything! The very central location, wonderful atmosphere, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, flexible meal times and check-out, luxurious rooms, bikes to borrow. Just lovely.
Review 28:- wifi was bad in our room, - air conditioning a bit too noisy, - mosquitos !!!
Review 29:- Staff were very kind, knowledgeable and helped us organise daily trips to nearby attractions. They organised tickets for muay thai fight, a driver for Tiger kingdom, had all information about "what&where" in Chiang Mai. After we returned home, we realised we forgot some items in the room and there was no problem getting them sent over to us. They are really fantastic. - room - spacious, comfortable and super clean - loved the breakfast, both the quality of food, the choice and the 24h availability
Review 30:No car park. It's quite hectic when we arrived. We called the hotel and staff came to get our car to park at the temple nearby. At night, we had to park our car by the street in front of the hotel and left the key to hotel staff just in case. Although they managed our parking slot and took care of our car well, I think it's still inconvenient for travellers with a car, esp if you stay during weekends which have walking street as they block the road. Hotel is quite small. the surrounding seems too cramped, no garden areas. The hotel is with modern style but I'd prefer it to have more relaxing and natural areas apart from buildings only. Room is ok but I think it's a bit too pricy compared to what you get in overall. It may depend on what you are looking for.
Review 31:Very good location if u want to explore major temples. Many shops are around the hotel mostly are massage, cafe. Excellent service! Very friendly and helpful staffs. Highly serviced mind, well trained, they are so helpful with everything. I'm really impressed. Nice breakfast, you can have it at anytime.
Review 32:showing signs of wear and tear not maintained as well as it should be
Review 33:Staff - very Location Views from hotel room Lobby/ Reception Main Entrance Good
Review 34:air conditioner is noisy, swimming pool is a little bit small
Review 35:location/service/facility is good~in weekend market~convenience for shopping!cheap to call airport pickup service, around 250 ~overall, we are quite satisfy.

Review 40:Myself and my friend stayed in U Chiang Mai for 5 nights at the start of July and we really did not want to leave. When you walk in the door the first thing that strikes you is the decor. The hotel is really authentic Thai style and the pool in the centre is amazing. The staff were brilliant and so helpful when it came to recommending and booking trips. They really could not do enough for us. The location is perfect. It is on the main road in the old town and nearly everything is in walking distance or only a few minutes away in a tuk tuk. The main tourist night life area is only a 5minute walk away and the night bazar is 5 mins in a tuk tuk. The old town is full of beautiful temples which are all in walking distance or you can take the bicycles that are provided free of charge. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody. It was perfect for two young girls but there were also a lot of couples and a few families staying here too. We can't wait to go back.

Review 50:Location, very central with a quiet garden and quiet rooms
Review 51:Great location and nice building
Review 52:Pool seating area exposed to the reception.
Review 53:Location and friendly staff always willing to help.
Review 54:Acceptable but loud air condition noise
Review 55:Great location, very care for any detail, free welcome drinks
Review 56:Reception is being renovated so noisy during day and no place to hang out
Review 57:Very pleasant hotel with super friendly staff and the best location right in the center of the old city. Breakfast was available all day
Review 58:Great location. Liked the flexibility of check-in and check-out timings, and also the all day breakfast.
Review 59:The location is great
Review 60:Wifi was not really adequate. Kept cutting out and had a weak signal.
Review 61:The hotel was beautiful and very well appointed!
Review 62:The breakfast was very good. We had cappuccinos and the stir fry egg noodle with veggies. Very good.
Review 63:swimming pool is incredibly small
Review 64:Staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast is delicious
Review 65:Atmosphere, rooms, bed quality, towels, breakfast, staff all very good and with a superb location on top. Would not hesitate to come back!

Review 68:There was nothing not to like.
Review 69:The service from the staff was impeccable. The accommodation was very comfortable - great value for money!
Review 70:Staff were fantastic Beautiful hotel - we loved our plunge pool room Great location
Review 71:very convenience, in the middle of the old town, just one step out is Sunday market. Also, staffs are very helpful and nice.
Review 72:Good location!
Review 73:The hotel & the pools
Review 74:not quiet enough at night
Review 75:great location, nice service
Review 76:Other hotels better value for money.
Review 77:location, clean and tidy.
Review 78:A WONDERFUL hotel in a fabulous location! The staff's amazing...from resepton to housekeeping. Very good breakfast & restaurant!
Review 79:Some of the receptionists were very aggressif and provided a extremely poor service, which contributed to make our stay at U Chiang Mai quite unpleasant. Otherwise, charming rooms and great situation but we will not come back because we never know what kind of customer service will be provided!
Review 80:Wifi password only worked on one device. Didn't realise until I had used it on my phone, then couldn't use my iPad. Resturant was good, but quite expensive.
Review 81:Fantastic location. Nice place to stay. Private pool was great.
Review 82:Relatively small rooms and medium quality Airco.
Review 83:Best location in Old town, esp. for Sunday's market and lively atmosphere.Beautifully designed hotel at reasonable price.
Review 84:Limited sun around the pool and small sunbathing area -The fit and finish of rooms is pretty good, but not really luxurious.
Review 85:Great location, helpful staff, 24 hour use of room (really great feature) rather than standard check-in and check-out times. The room was clean, stylish, and a fair size.
Review 86:Pool area too small, decor was drab in rooms we felt they could have been brighter, bathroom looked tired as the black floors and shower area was white and patchy which made it look dirty.
Review 87:location was good and staff were very helpful
Review 88:Amazing staff, lovely rooms, very romantic and great to have the day beds on the balcony. Things like the soap options were a lovely addition. Excellent location with lots to do near by.
Review 89:This is an amazing place to choose to stay. The feeling you get the moment you step into the hotel is complete tranquility. The facilities are fantastic and the people who work there are lovely, with great advice on where to do trips and are happy to book everything for you. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know planning a trip to chiang mai!
Review 90:The breakfast, the comfort of the mattress and pillow was not worth the money of the price which was paid. We had to change our room in the middle of the night as the room's door bell was faulty. It rang by itself every 2-3 min.
Review 91:The location was perfect as it was just in front of the Weekend Sunday market. The staff was polite and fast response to our request.
Review 92:The initial orientation felt like it lasted roughly 15 minutes, complete with details on every conceivable aspect of the hotel and its services. While I appreciate the staff's desire to be thorough, this was bit much after a long flight. More importantly, the hotel was quite loud in the evenings. We could hear our neighbors' snore, guest walk up and down the halls, and the band at the restaurant across the street until the wee hours of the morning.
Review 93:The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pool was beautiful (although it was too cold at the time to take full advantage of it).
Review 94:Breakfast was average, plenty of bakeries in Chiang Mai so better bread and coffee.
Review 95:Clean, efficient, great location, relaxing and pleasant modern aesthetic.
Review 96:There was nothing wrong. All great!
Review 97:We ordered a taxi for airport transfer. One of the hotel staff met us atthe airport and travelled with us back to the hotel. Staff were alwayson hand, friendly and reasonable English.
Review 98:Fantastic location in the old part of the city. A well appointed boutique hotel - try to get a ground floor room with direct access to a semi-private pool. Good bar and eatery opposite: the Writers wine bar
Review 99:while checking in, the front desk staff is not so friendly.
Review 100:great location, nice hotel decoration and very comfortable environment to help relaxing a lot~
Review 101:Noise of the air condition Few choice of the breakfast and the taste is so so.
Review 102:Great location, the center of the old city of Chiang Mai. The hotel staffs are very nice and helpful.
Review 103:Our room was on first floor and next to the pool, so people kept walking by and we had very little privacy
Review 104:The staff was great and very helpful, the hotel very pretty with a great location, enjoyed our stay
Review 105:Really nice hotel, great location. We spent a long time deciding which hotel to pick and having stayed here and seen the others, we're glad we picked U Chiang Mai
Review 106:Room rates are a bit expensive compared to Hotels of a similar standard in Chiang Mai.
Review 107:U Chiang Mai is beautifully designed & the staff were super helpful.
Review 108:Price on airport transfer. It's only a 10 minute drive... Take a cabfrom the airport!
Review 109:Loved everything. Power went out in our room in middle of the night andthy upgraded us to a nicer one. Manager was fantastic. Everything great.Just don't use their hotel transfer from the airport .... You canget a cab for less than half of what they charge
Review 110:no elevator. but it;s not a big problem since stuff will help you to carry the luggage and it;s only 3 storeies building..
Review 111:I really like the design of the hotel. Althought it;s in old city, but it uses buildings to circle an area and create a private/quiet space in the noisy city. Also, the location can not be better, it;s just in the center of the Sunday walking street, you just need to step out of the entance.
Review 112:Would have liked a desk for work. A small shelf or over the chair desk. The door to balcony rattled loudly each time we opened . Poor lighting on stairs in eve. ( husbands notes)
Review 113:Absolutely lovely. A serene place to stay and escape. Staff warm and friendly. Breakfasts were wonderful. Almost to much, husband and split breakfast main. Great shopping across street. Wonderfully designed cotton/ natural clothes. Close to shopping markets and street without being "in". Design of hotel , lovely. Pool. Great. Bathroom , lovely. Great big window so airy, but screen beyond , on a balcony so still very private. Loved the choice of soap. Jasmine! Helpful front desk staff. Great a/c. Modern. Fruit of day in room. Entrance to hotel, pleasing. Balcony great. Pleasant view. Suggestions of tours was spot on. Would so come back b worth every dollar and more . L
Review 114:Our morning yoga class was cancled,we had to choose another lessonin another hotel.Wish the hotel could have more yoga classes forthe guests.
Review 115:Good service, and I like the design of this hotel. The breakfast is alsovery yummy.
Review 116:Amazing staff. Always smiling. They even bought my wife a birthday cake without us asking. Incredible pre-stay service with email bookings of tours and transfers.
Review 117:Great location in the heart of Chiang Mai old city. The staff were a great help and very welcoming. The Spa facilities were excellent. The room was very comfortable and nicely designed. The pool was great.
Review 118:The room has bad odor when we had checked in and hotel need to take some times to fix it.
Review 119:Hotel give you a feeling of relaxation though it is located in the center of Chiang Mai Town
Review 120:Complimentary water not provided on second day of stay Lack of chairs in the room For the room price paid extra toiletries like toothbrush not provided
Review 121:Location Easy check-in Friendly staff
Review 122:Due to street renovation, the access to the hotel was difficult with theluggages. They could at least put a secure wooden construction for hotelguests. Very bad smell in bathroom during our entire stay and manymosquitos as no nets on door openings. Overpriced pickup proposed byhotel. (600Thb). Just take a cab at airport counter for 120thb! Englishskills of personal pretty limited for this class of hotel. We weresomehow disappointed by price/quality of the rooms.
Review 123:Most friendly staff in all places, great breakfast buffet with highquality food. Quiet although in middle of old city.
