Reviews for Tradewinds Hotel
Review 1:the water pressure in the shower wasn't great!
Review 2:The room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. I liked how it was close to Fremantle I also liked the pool and spa. The staff were very friendly and room service was great.
Review 3:Needs refurbishing, no safe in room and door lock did not appear strong.
Review 4:Spacious room with self catering facility. Good value food and barman very professional and helpful.
Review 5:lock on sliding doors only just locked after several attempts and re checking. Room had strong cigarette odour and the pillow was even stronger smoke smell. Didn't use them. Accept this hotel is not new but for $205 thought could be fresher.
Review 6:Location great for our purpose.
Review 7:No bad experience at all though the common areas may be in need of an upgrade due to the aging building. Reception carpets possibly require freshening up.
Review 8:Clean comfortable rooms with great facilities downstairs. Pool/spa/hotel/buffet breakfast were all assets to our stay. The beautiful happy friendly lady greeting us every morning at the buffet breakfast made every morning a pleasure to wake up to.
Review 9:Not so much didn't like, however, a little bit challenging was the way in which we had to get down to our car from our room
Review 10:The friendliness of all of the staff.
Review 11:The food was terrible. I ordered a steak with chips and salad. The salad was old and the steak was well done. I ordered by phone and the cook repeated my order, "Medium Rare". The steak was too tough to cut! The breakfast was also terrible but the waitresses were wonderful. The sausages were shriveled and dry. The Buffet food looked as though it had been there for many hours.
Review 12:Not much food choices around the area of the hotel.
Review 13:Comfortable bed! Well equipped with all the hotel necessities. Short drive to the Fremantle market, Fremantle prison that we were planning to go. We stayed in 2 bedroom unit. Had individual aircon in all the different rooms. Great view of the river! Secured car park.
Review 14:Studio unit was not as pictured on the net. Blood sprays on the wardrobe, A/C not working properly, soap dish spun on the wall, only one bin in bathroom in a studio unit.
Review 15:Being upgraded after pointing out various faults with the original studio unit given. Kelly was very understanding and accomodating.
Review 16:The hotel is located in the perfect place if you are cruising. It is also very convenient for getting into Freo a 5 min bus ride and they stop right out front.
Review 17:Grumpy reception staff, cold food and dried out beans
Review 18:Jordan in reception was lovely, the one the next morning was grumpy.. Breakfast staff were so helpful and happy, but the hot food was nearly cold and had run out of most except the dried out beans. Room was lovely
Review 19:On first arrival we found comming in from car park entrance very confusing finding the office. The signage was not easy. Probably need sign over top of lift as this area is most visible on arriving.
Review 20:The rooms were well equipt, very clean with nice fresh smell. Also the actual venue had excellent beer/ light meals outdoor area. When departing my wife left 2 earings on side table. When enquires made the desk clerk was obliging when asked to mail them back to us.
Review 21:Air con in lounge didn't work. Oven door wouldn't close and no trays to cook on in oven. No point in having an oven with nothing to cook on.
Review 22:Location was good
Review 23:The breakfast coffee was not good and the extra " flat white" came in a tiny cup. I had a breakfast the following day at the Esplanade Hotel with a much more memorable coffee. I guess your machine needs cleaning of better coffee beans.
Review 24:Front desk staff were unhelpful and somewhat rude in their manner. Shower was very poor water pressure and mould was heavy on the grout of the shower tiles.
Review 25:The location is great. The room was lovely, comfortable with ample facilities.
Review 26:Reception lady on the phone to our room was being a weirdo on the phone saying we had five f#@%$#g minutes to get out of our room..it was 10am and we were told we have a 11am check out. Then she phoned five minutes later saying we could stay for an extra four hours and it was a joke..people next door came in while we were shagging.
Review 27:Simple, fun. Would stay again, despite weird admin lady.
Review 28:The serves in restaurant and when trying to purchases a drink was very poor. The staff made you feel they were doing us favour by serving us. Food also poor
Review 29:the room was a little ordinary and could not be further away from anything top floor no view traffic all night and noisy air con
Review 30:The Breakfast was very good and service great
Review 31:Not many negatives, only the aircon let off some ash or dirt particles I found on the bed. No ice cube trays in the freezer, though I managed to get ice from the bar downstairs. No oven though the hot plates certainly helped.
Review 32:Great location. Staff were friendly and helpful, my room was cleaned and done everyday I was there. Spacious room, big bathroom. The little kictchen was great.
Review 33:Sound proofing between rooms is bad. Could literally hear the moaning of a lady from another room. Obviously having a "s*x" experience in the room.
Review 34:Room was spacious. Toilet is clean. Great to have a mini kitchen.
Review 35:car parking is very very narrow and at times dangerous when crowded. Menu is too boring so drives you away if staying more than say two nights which we were.
Review 36:Staff friendly and helpful and it is well located.
Review 37:Rooms are a bit tired but it's old.
Review 38:The Staff are second to none. We've stayed in six star hotels that would kill to have these guys on their roster.
Review 39:The Fridge was quite loud and leaked over the kitchen floor.
Review 40:The location was perfect as my daughter had a performance at John Curtin College of the Arts. She was able to walk to rehersals while I was at work. The kitchen meant I could prepare healthy snacks and meals for us during our stay.
Review 41:The room was very noisy with respect to street traffic. Also it was hard to get the 2nd bedroom dark enough due to the presence of an outside light just outside the lounge room and inadequate blinds.
Review 42:Good check in and helpful staff at the front desk
Review 43:Asked for a river view - opened our curtains to a factory wall. Was very dated. Dirty and sticky side tables. Stained sofa. Dirty curtains. If they ask for a bond I would suggest to do it in cash at least then you would get it back straight away otherwise you will wait a week for funds to be released.
Review 44:It was a convient location, as it was right around the corner from the heart of Fremantle
Review 45:don't like having to pay a bond that comes out of my bank account and then I have to wait to see if it is to be refunded. 48 hours later and I am still waiting.
Review 46:secure parking. excellent bed. spacious clean room. did not use the kitchen facility but would be useful if it was promoted.
Review 47:Nothing ....it was clean and comfortable......the girl at the front desk did not know where the port was or how far to our cruise ship?
Review 48:We liked how the night manager gave us another room for nothing as he did not have a room available with twin beds!
Review 49:Noise on steps outside door all night & noise through walls & ceiling. Shower recess grout long term mould noticed & could easily be fixed
Review 50:Very Good location/facilities/amenities/room size
Review 51:The breakfast was cold and dried out. Could not reset Aircon to warmer. Door locks very flimsy
Review 52:The warm/hot breakfast terrible. Was cold and died
Review 53:Tired accommodation in need of a revamp. Industrial level noise following morning. $100 deposit after accommodation prepaid online. Door lock needed fixing before we could use room.
Review 54:Location
Review 55:Older hotel. Bathroom is out dated, breakfast buffet is over priced at $26 with not many options. Room service charges a $6 fee. Beds uncomfy
Review 56:Big rooms. Helpful reception.
Review 57:The shower over the bath. It's very hard to get in and out of is slippery and especially hard if you are short
Review 58:Great view clean and comfy bed. Very quiet
Review 59:The hotel looks like it needs updating. Once out the door, the street area looks a bit dodgy, with fair amount of "street art" around the place. - Paid a fairly high price but the parking was included.
Review 60:Nice views, handy to some nice little restaurants. Secure car parking.
Review 61:Restaurant food disgrace &I over priced burger cost$21.00 for meat pattie &a cucumber chips in cardboard container. Door to room wouldn't lock whole place very tired
Review 62:Beer garden in sunshine
Review 63:We stayed over night but found the motel extremely comfortable. The beds were perfect, Was ideal size etc for myself and my two adult children. Felt safe knowing my car was securely parked too.
Review 64:The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable The parking was safe. The location was perfect. Had a wonderful stay, would definitely come back again and have already recommended you guys. Thank you.
Review 65:Meals - dinner steak was full of gristle and not much choice on menu. Breakfast- bacon, mushrooms etc very dry because they are pre-cooked.
Review 66:Service was great in dining room and other staff were very pleasant.
Review 67:The only thing was the bedroom light kept flickering but i have made reception aware and was told it will be sorted ASAP
Review 68:The service we had for dinner. We have young ones and they were totally fine with them. Very friendly chefs and waiters x
Review 69:Beautiful location, easy to find, secure parking, fantastic chefs - cooked your eggs up fresh fro breakfast, beautiful dinner menu - very kind and helpful lovely staff - excellent place
Review 70:Would have liked a river view. Woken at 2am by some drunks walking past. Towel rail needed fixing but I told reception.
Review 71:Room was spotless. Great location. Close to river for walking. Close to Fremantle. Nice cafes behind which we didn't know about.
Review 72:The wifi didnt work for a long time, and when it finally did I still couldnt download anything. it was was too slow
Review 73:The staff was helpful in the ways they could be
Review 74:Having to hold $200 off your credit card when you were paying by it was too excessive.
Review 75:The rooms were very nice and spacious. Nice view of the pool. Good location.
Review 76:The aircon in our main bedroom was not working but the staff was nice to send someone up to fix it , although it still didn't work quite well it was a little better. Wished there were power sockets in the bedroom or living room where we could charge our phones, we only found them in the toilet. The electric kettle was rusty so we couldn't prepare warm milk for the young kids.
Review 77:We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which had a nice view overlooking the bridge and swan river.
Review 78:Breakfast may have a been a big expensive but it was still nice eating. I'm a dedicated coffee drinker and I ordered a cappuccino. Which wasn't very nice. I think you need a dedicated barista area.
Review 79:We loved our steaks! I never eat salad, it's a colour on the plate and decorated it, however, I ate all of it for the first time ever! It was superb! The chips were second to none and each and every staff member throughout our stay deserve a pat on the back.
Review 80:Need to make the reception location clearer on website as down a side street. Critism not well received when explained to the night receptionist!
Review 81:Easy access to public transport; good size rooms in two bedroom apartment.
Review 82:Air conditioner/heating did not work on 1st night, had to call service technician in at night to get working on 2nd night Bedside light was shorting out, let manager know on 2nd morning but it was not looked at before checkout Sliding door locks were very loose, not very secure Room service menu was quite limited Bed very firm and pillows very soft
Review 83:Good function room Food was well presented and very nice
Review 84:Quite ex, only stayed here for wedding. No room service after a certain time
Review 85:Staff were really friendly, room was nice and looks better than the facade of the building. Free parking
Review 86:The car parks were tight shower very hard to get into especially for elderly people I have a leg that doesn't bend found it very difficult
Review 87:The room was comfortable we had a reasonable view
Review 88:Our key wouldn't lock the door. Had to leave the door unlocked and ask hotel staff to lock it for us. They fixed it, but then when we went to leave the next day, we had to leave the door unlocked again. Pool dirty.
Review 89:Staff helpful and friendly
Review 90:From the street Tradewinds Hotel looks fresh and impressive but it's actually very tired. Its rooms, although large... look more like a Motel room. Paid too much for too little, and I got a deal!
Review 91:Location is great with the George Street cafe strip just a block up the hill. Easy access to pretty much everywhere.
Review 92:There was no hot food left when we arrived to breakfast well before the cut off time. The cook made us some bacon and sausages, but that was all. The juices wern't labelled except for orange juice, so nobody knew there was also cranberry, apple etc. There were "floaties" in the metal water jug. (yuck) The rooms were overlooking someones back yard. Not pleasant. Had to leave a $200 bond upfront. :( An $11 taxi trip out from Fremantle's main area.
Review 93:Rooms were clean.
Review 94:The photo in the booking turned out to be quite different from the actual hotel. We thought we would be able to see the river. The room overlooked a car parking area and had only one glass door, no other windows, so when we closed the door for security, we had no fresh air or natural light. The air in the room was stale, but when we turned on the AC, it was freezing, no matter what temp we set. We had very little sleep and couldn't wait to leave next morning!
Review 95:The full breakfast is expensive for what is available to you. The food was also quite cold both times we went down. The waitress did get us fresh eggs cooked up due to this though which was great
Review 96:Staff were extremely helpful and rooms were a great size with everything we needed in them. When checking in Reception even made sure our rooms were next to eachother so we weren't far away from our friends.
Review 97:Everything was fine except the plumbing in the bathroom, the shower/bath water backed up when using and the base of the toilet had a leak. Minor issues and were reported. It would be nice to hae some seating on the balcony and a small table.
Review 98:We found our fully equipped kitchen as advertised wasnt what we would call fully equipped missing a lot of useful utensils and no sharp knife bit disappointed
Review 99:Housekeeping staff very friendly
Review 100:Food was awful! we ended up ordering Pizza for Dinner as the Breakfast and Lunch was terrible! The room had a smoky smell and I found out why on the last day when I found an empty beer bottle with cigarette buts in it behind the lounge room curtains! Rooms are very old and in need of a total refit. Won't stay there again..
Review 101:Staff were amazing!
Review 102:The first few staff we encountered made us feel like they were doing us a favour by letting us stay. House keeping staff very nice.
Review 103:Being able to cook was good but limited kitchen utensils. Had to ask several times for ice trays.
Review 104:Breakfast wasn't the best, however there are many small cafes a short walk away.
Review 105:Room was nice, with a nice view of the swan river. The restaurant also served pretty good food for dinner/lunch.
Review 106:Room was located at the back of the hotel with view of restaurant carpark only. Another family with young kids were checked in next door & were noisy for most of the evening.
Review 107:Only reasonably priced hotel with a kitchenette.
Review 108:Decor is a little bit old and tired and rooms could do with an upgrade. Most hotels of this stature also have a gym which would be nice.
Review 109:Rooms are clean and comfortable. Overall location is central and handy to everything. Dining area and in particular the beer garden is a great place to relax, with great views of the Swan river. Good food as well.
Review 110:Value for money for an older hotel. Very clean and staff very pleasant - Excellent food in restaurant. Only drawback was the parking lot - very small parks with not enough spots to serve hotel patrons.
Review 111:We stayed 2 nights, we couldn't fault anything. Location was great, close to East Fremantle Football Oval where we had to be. What more could you ask for!
Review 112:The Sliding Doors to the rooms are rather old locks so took awhile to lock and unlock room . One of the aircons was stuck on 14'deg so was freezing cold or hot .
Review 113:Great Staff , Easy check in & Late check out approved just a day before arriving . Comfy & Clean All Round Great Hotel !!
Review 114:Prices in hotel restaurant were a bit high.
Review 115:Just a 106 bus from the Perth espanade to the door. Buy Family dayriderticket to go anywhere for $11.80 for two people all day !! who needs ahire car? LoL Staff were really helpful. Swimming pool and room weregreat ! Next door to the liquor store and around corner fromsupermarket. 15 mins walk to Fremantle centre or a quick bus fromoutside the hotel. 5 mins walk to the restaurant on the river.
Review 116:Rooms are little out dated hard to justify the money when you travel over seas and you get allot more for your money.
Review 117:Friendly staff, parking facility, great river view from some rooms.
Review 118:Outdoor areas upstairs could probably do with a lick of paint, and maybe close off roof area, or make a feature out of it. But this did NOT ruin our stay. Just an opinion
Review 119:The pool was lovely and the spa was an added bonus. The two bedroom apartment was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. Looked newly refurbished. Restaurant had a nice casual feel.
Review 120:turned air con on and could not change it from heat to cool. Room was hot. After much fiddling with remote by receptionist finally managed to change it to cool. By this time was 3.20am
Review 121:I felt the need to slightly rearrange the rooms furniture as it was not quite right. All the usual key elements were there, artworks, lamps, desk, luggage bench etc, but somehow everything was just lined up in a very uncaring manner. Though great attention was paid to the preparation of the beds which is essential, the rest of the room needed the same sort of consideration. Once I noticed this I began to take note of the reception and lobby area, which are also suffering from the same lack of attention to detail and styling. Again all the key elements are there, sofas, tub chairs, art works etc. but it just does not hang together. These areas could really use a stylist to spend a little time to rearrange the furniture and create inviting spaces for guests rather than giving the vibe of a sad and stiff old peoples home. Fresh flowers would do wonders!
Review 122:The pool was lovely and the lush garden surrounding the water was an oasis on a hot day in Perth.
Review 123:other guests drinking too much alcohol in pool and spa air con too noisy like sleeping on an aeroplane thats if you can get to sleep had to wear ear plugs
Review 124:staff food
Review 125:Location - no walking access to retail facilities or eating places. Dining and bar areas extremely noisy Cost of drinks unreasonably high Poor security to rooms Facility is very 'tired' Rating should be no mare than 3 star
Review 126:Very little to like.Room was spacious.
Review 127:Staff terrible. Duty manager during my daughters engagement function was rude behind belief. So shocked, and my daughter and her fiancé very upset. Will not be considering this venue for their wedding.... Girl on reception upon checkout kept us waiting an overly long time while trying and failing to help someone with their flight time, and then couldn't work out how to open luggage storage cupboard. Needs some training in customer service.
Review 128:Not much. Location ok.
Review 129:Our room was on the thoroughfare through to the car park and there was a wedding on so it was very noisy until early in the morning.
Review 130:The room and pool area was nice.
Review 131:We liked everything about the Tradeswind hotel.
Review 132:The desk staff was very helpful, room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the swimming pool on the hot days, and public transport was very convenient.
Review 133:We had a function at the leftbank (opposite the road). Location was perfect for our particular stay. No fuss hotel lovely staff. Stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment, rooms were clean & comfortable. Happy re the price we paid.
Review 134:The ridiculous $200 deposit for the mini-bar! That's money we no longer had for our weekend away. Once we saw the mini-bar it was clear that it couldn't have been $200 anyway. Also, the doors were sliding glass doors, not actual doors. If they wanted to, anybody could have gotten into our room. I didn't feel as safe as I should have for $180 a night! (Plus $200 lets not forget)
Review 135:I liked the bed and the kitchen facilities. Staff were very friendly.
Review 136:We prepaid this hotel online based on the online reviews and photos only to arrive and be placed in a room that was far from what was expected….disappointing.
Review 137:We were moved to a 'better' room once speaking to the manager about the room.
