Reviews for Oglakcioglu Park Boutique Hotel
Review 1:The interior of the bathroom looks a little bit old.
Review 2:The fresh and tasty seafood in front of the hotel. The room is nice for family which has a seperate glass door for two double bed. It takes 10-15 mins walk to the coastline.
Review 3:Nothing.
Review 4:A beautiful hotel. The staff are lovely and very helpful and professional. The breakfast is superb and beautifully presented. A really gorgeous hotel. The location is fine but if you want to be in a five star area this is not for you. It is a 5 star hotel in a regular hotel area. We loved it and would definitely go back . It is first class.
Review 5:breakfast is rich, however, the same every day, and some were just served after 7h30-8h00.
Review 6:easy to find, in the city center but quiet, friendly staff, free coffee and tea (in the restaurant and the room), stable free wifi
Review 7:A rowdy bar in the nearby street, but doesn't cause much of a problem.
Review 8:Extremely close to the train station. Perfect for travellers who are staying in Izmir in order to visit Ephesus.
Review 9:To be honest notning.. Should work something to make spa centar if possible...
Review 10:From the moment we arrived in the hotel everything is simply perfect!!! Staff on the reception professional and very helpful and kind!! We have rent a car and man who is also on the reception park our car and bring our cases to the room!! Room is big enough, very clean! You have minibar in the room and water, coffee, tea is free of charge!! Breakfast is perfect, a lot of choices for everyone!! You can reach all attraction from the hotel on foot!!! All in all great hotel for this price !!!
Review 11:The rooms are extremely small and not noise proof at all. You can hear other people coughing, water running through the pipes or people doing their business in the bathroom.
Review 12:The coffee is free and ok and they have a some parking space as well.
Review 13:Location is not perfect - it's close to the Train station (so you can easily travel to Ephesus for example), but 10 minutes walk from most of the city life (seaside and restaurants).
Review 14:Nice staff, nice breakfast, clean room, quality Wi-Fi
Review 15:Not a bed experience as such, evening meal of chicken schnitzel was frozen we think you should use fresh chicken
Review 16:Everything fron the reception staff, to the waitresses they were all very helpful The breakfast was superb As was one of our evening meals
Review 17:I have asked for a non-smoking room and have gotten it - although the smoke of previous guests was to much. In the neighboring room (it was signed as non-smoking also) people have smoked very strongly. The breakfast was offered on paper from 7 am. However on some mornings even at 7:30 am it has not been there everything.
Review 18:The rooms have been clean.
Review 19:Wi-fi was slow in our room and the connection bad, but from other visitors I asked, maybe it had to do with the location of our room regarding the location of the router..
Review 20:Breakfast was superb..great variety, fresh and tasty. Room comfortable and clean. Really nice stay.. Will visit in the future.
Review 21:When i've checked in, i recognized that AC was broken! ı called the receptionist and he said there was a very big problem with AC malfunctioning. I was sick when i've arrived and i've tried to oversleep but could not manage because the weather was so cold. That was a terrible experience so tthat somebody should explain why the basic need could not meet! Thanks.
Review 22:nothing!
Review 23:Room and bathroom was smelling cigarette smoke.
Review 24:Very close to the center, so I could walk around without public transportation. Rooms big, warm and clean. Basically everything you need for a stay. Very good hotel at a good price.
Review 25:1.There is noise during the night, due to nightclubs next to the hotel. 2.It is located in notorious neighbourhood. On the way to the hotel during evening, one should walk between prestitutes. However, we never felt in risk.
Review 26:1. Good breakfast 2. Very close to train & metro station 3. Walking distance to Alsansak and Konan
Review 27:No service satff during breakfast. Broken toaster and despite complaints- wasn't replaced. over priced hotel for the facilities and standard
Review 28:tours to close by areas were easy because of the tour operators located close by
Review 29:We had a room placed beside a constrution site, and construtionsnoise all day and night. The staff's respond, "not there problem". We couldn't sleep from the drilling, or stay at the room in longer periods of time.
Review 30:The rooms are clean.
Review 31:we were left waiting for our room for an hour without warning or proper apology, typical conveyor-belt approach, also confused staff throughout the stay...
Review 32:good location for both Basmane train station and bazaar, nice orient express themed rooms, nice breakfast.
Review 33:neighbourhood is not that great, slightly seedy. design of the newer rooms is not to everyone's taste, feels a bit like a cruise ship...
Review 34:clean, comfortable, great breakfast, friendly staff, good price
Review 35:The room was tiny and cleaning could have been better, the air conditioning was quite noisy. Unfortunately the hotel location is near a station and in the evening it does not feel very safe to walk around, especially if you are a woman.
Review 36:Breakfast is quite varied and good value.
Review 37:I wouldn't call it bad. The back of the hotel has a back alley and can get noisy at night. It really wasn't that loud nor bothersome after you fall asleep.
Review 38:The staff was very helpful. Breakfast spread was delicious with ample choice. The room and bath were very clean and comfortable all the way around. The location is also central to Izmir.
Review 39:There were mirrors everywhere. Even in the shower.
Review 40:When we went to check in, we were told that we'd been upgraded for free to a suite! This obviously made us very happy. The bed was round which was odd but spacious enough for us to sleep really well.
Review 41:Room was really tiny, only room was towards dark inside space; so no daylight in the room. Staff could speak english but not really friendly in their communication. Neighbourhood is a bit poor, although very close to metrostation Basmane.
Review 42:Room was clean, airco and WiFi working fine. Breakfast was OK. Good value for money.
Review 43:The location is a bit noisy at night, but it's very close to the train station. Still pretty ideal.
Review 44:Great service and breakfast. Good value for money. The staff is very friendly and helpful
Review 45:Despite the fact that we were upgraded to honeymoonsuite, the window coverings were extremely grubby and the jet tub had so much mould along the edge that I was reluctant to take a showe and certainly would NEVER have had a bath in it.
Review 46:Easy to find, great breakfast, lovely lobby, daytime staff very helpful, night staff--kind of cranky when questioned about hotel rate conversion from Euros to Turkish lira.
Review 47:We had a dreadful experience with the staff in this hotel. When wepresented our passports for check-in at the reception, the staffdirectly handed over to us a credit card receipt for signature. We werepuzzled in the beginning but soon realised that he had already chargedus on our room rates on our credit card without even seekingpermissions. Although we provided credit card details when we booked ourhotels on booking.com, there was never once in my experience with otherhotels that they would cash out on your credit card without any priorauthorisation during check-in. This greatly frustrated this as weintended to pay in cash. When I communicated my wishes to pay in cash to the staff politely, he rudely pointed me to other guests and say "they were all willing to pay by credit card", which impliedly single-outed us as the troublemakers. When I told him I was upset because we were never asked/ given a CHOICE before he charged us, he did not take that nicely. And after several rounds of altercations , at some point he shouted to us "YOU SHUT UP". I had never once been so rudely treated by any hotel staff. And when the manager finally agreed to refund us on our credit card the next day, she did not do it with an appropriate attitude either. I was unable to provide the name of the staff as he simply refused to provide us with that. But if you do not want a similar experience, avoid this hotel at all cost.
Review 48:The breakfast has a reasonably wide range of choices; car-parkingfacilities are available
Review 49:Although somewhat over-decorated, the hotel is charming and offers a comfortable stay at a very good price. The en-suite rooms are clean and well maintained, if a bit small. Wifi worked very well. The breakfast offered a variety of cheeses, breads, and olives supplemented by bolied eggs and cold cuts. The mid-city location is not charming but very convenient for Basmane station, the bazaar, agora and waterfront. Note that the metro from the airport is not direct to Basmane.
Review 50:The room is small and the view of my window is a cement wall even when I ask for high level room. In case of I ask for pay latter option the hotel charge the first night by my credit card. The area specially hotel alley is not good.
Review 51:Room was obviously remodelled from another purpose and had a somewhat awkward setup.
Review 52:Breakfast was excellent. The location was extremely practical, if not in the very best neighbourhood. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 53:the area around the hotel currently a place for those who wants to go to Greece by sea and they sleep on the side way and at night they move towards the sea and another group come to the same place.
Review 54:it is very near to the metro station
Review 55:I didn't like the atmosfere in the neigbourhoud as woman travelling alone
Review 56:Hotel is very good, comfortable, clean, good breakfast, very well priced.
Review 57:I liked everthing near public transportations, 10 minutes walk to Konak and if you like you can keep walking to Alsancak, Breakfast was excellent, clean, the room is very comfortable and have everything, the staff is very friendly and most of all they speak English which is a very rare thing in Izmir.
Review 58:on booking.com they described the room as a room with a patioview. But that was not true. We had a small window looking in the hallway, so we had no daylight.
Review 59:It was a very good breakfast and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had a nice room and everything was clean.
Review 60:No tissues in the room. Meal standard did not match the high standard of the hotel although prompt efficient and reasonably priced
Review 61:Our room was upgraded to Honeymoon suite!
Review 62:Not a nice view from the room. No beaches in Izmir (not Hotel fault of course, but you should know). The closest beach was at 80km. Real nice beaches on Foca, Ilca and Kusadasi (1h drive).
Review 63:A nice and casual hotel. Good breakfast but with a small variety for choosing. Nice staff. Good location (very close to the market and to the seafront). Good wifi and free parking.
Review 64:A bit stressful if you have a car to be parked by a staff at the car park of hotel back yard, because you will block the whole street when you stop at the front door to get some staff to help to park the car. However, it is understandable, as it in the city center.
Review 65:Comfortable hotel, good value for the price, good location, very friendly and helpful staff, and rather good breadfast too.
Review 66:A little too crowded in the dining place during breakfast. The room was small; with space limited, we can hardly place our suitcases.
Review 67:Clean. A 10 to15-minute walk to the shore, which was great!
Review 68:The beds were pretty uncomfortable. Our triple room was very cramped (a twin room with another fold-away bed crammed in) The staff were not particularly friendly While there was a good selection at breakfast, a lot of the produce was not fresh and not something you would enjoy eating. The wi-fi didn't work very well most of the time
Review 69:The location is very good. There are lots of nice local eating options around. Free parking Quiet Clean.
Review 70:The airco unfortunately gave a very cold airflow just over the bed. This was the only negative point.
Review 71:Very friendly people. Clean room. Good value.
Review 72:Rather cramped and dark dining area in which the buffet breakfast was ordinary. The decor - walls containing Claasical & Renaiscence images.
Review 73:Reasonable if small double bedroom. Overall, good value.
Review 74:Unless you need the train station to be close it is not such a nice area.
Review 75:Breakfast was great- a wonderful selection and they even left a little snack for us in a room. Location is good if you need to be near the train station.
Review 76:Daha önce de Çeşme Oglakcioglu da kalmıştık. Yine çok memnun kaldık. Personel güler yüzlü, odalar mis gibi. Fiyat çok uygun. Kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.
Review 77:Everything perfect
Review 78:Location less than 5mins from Basamane regional & Metro station, with direct trains also to Airport. Close to restaurants and promenade and old town too.bouti Superb breakfast spread
Review 79:It was 5 minutes to the Basmane metro and train station, which made it very easy for us to get around Izmir and to the surrounding areas such as Selçuk and Denizli for Ephesus and Pamukkale. We stayed at this hotel twice, first for three days before we went to Çeşme and then for one day before we headed to the airport the next morning. For the first stay, we were upgraded to a suite from a standard double room which was really spacious and comfortable; although the standard room was in itself sufficient.
Review 80:staff didn't make an extra effort, they did just what they had to do: check in and check out, no smiles, nothing else Position : it's quite a distance from the kordon where all the nightlife and fish restaurants are, close to basmane train station, an area that can be "strange" at night
Review 81:Breakfast was very nice, a lot of selection Value for money was very good
Review 82:Location next to the flea market -- not the best neighbourhood (but I felt safe at all times). Air-conditioning difficult to set right (you might be either too cold or too hot at night). Wifi signal could be stronger. Few English TV channel and sometimes bad quality of video/audio. Tiny table is fixed to the wall in the corner -- difficult to use it.
Review 83:Perfect location for me: next to the conference venue. Some small supermarkets nearby if you need anything. Good sized room and bathroom. Water and tea/coffee for free in your room. Clean, towels changed daily. Quite a lot of choices for breakfast (included in the price of the stay).
Review 84:Wi-fi seems not always works, no matter in the room and even in lobby, always disconnected automatically. And also breakfast time stop exactly in 10am sharp. I've never happens before.
Review 85:Those staffs are nice and helpful.
Review 86:The bed and blanket are not at par with good hotel standards. The air conditioning is a bit annoying. The WIFI could use an upgrade, felt like dial-up at times.
Review 87:Location. It's at Konak, accessible to the metro, lots of restaurants around, and walking distance to the Kemeralti. Bathroom is clean, towels are fresh.
Review 88:We liked everything!
Review 89:Breakfast, interiors, many TV channels almost on every language, internet is good. The interiors look a but outdated on the pictures, but this is not true! The hotel seems recently renovated, it's just done in an older style. Great location! Lots of restaurants just in front of the hotel. 15 min walk to Kordon (embankment).
Review 90:They have different wi fi routers in each floor but in certain times it was hard to cover the entire floor.
Review 91:They provide what they promise. Very good the free parking. Definetely good value for money
Review 92:Front desk staff were very helpful and the hotel is very conveniently located to most of the places of interest downtown. I also have to strongly disagree with the reviewer who said it wasn't in a safe area; it is. There are a lot of tea shops behind the hotel where men hang out to smoke, but these aren't gangs, just worn out guys. The shopkeepers and vendors are all very friendly if one tries to engage them in a conversation, even without any Turkish.
Review 93:The staff at reception said they had no record of our reservation and seemed uninterested in helping us resolve the problem, until we called Booking.com for assistance. Our triple room was on the 6th floor, which is accessible only by a spiral staircase -- very difficult with a toddler and luggage! The bed was very uncomfortable.
Review 94:Relatively centrally located; we could walk to the main sites.
Review 95:Some rooms are still smoking, so if you want a non-smoking room, be explicit and insist. And maybe even request a change if the first one doesn't suit.
Review 96:The little hotel is charming and has a helpful staff. The breakfast is generous, fresh and tasty. (They had melt-in-your-mouth strawberries while we were there...) The decor is a bit dark-woody for my taste, but it has its charm all the same. Rooms are comfortable and generally as quiet as a big city can offer. There are more and less quiet rooms (we had 502, which was good). The hotel is In a little alley, surrounded by street lined with cafes and local restaurantsand a few bars. A stone's throw away is a large avenue with shops and across that street begins the Arabic quarter. Just a few minutes walk away is the bay shore and a lovely park. A minute away is the old expo park, which offers a great place to go for a jog or to take children. There's even an amusement park in the middle!
Review 97:Spotless and very comfortable hotel located a few minutes on foot from Basmane train station. Fantastic breakfast served with rich and variegate buffet. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent value for money and quality. Definutely, a recommende dplace if you visit Izmir
Review 98:- no airport transfer available but because of the shuttle bus stop proximity, it is not a big issue.
Review 99:- location is very good, close to Basmane metro station, stop of the airport shuttle bus, Hilton Hotel and relatively close to Alsancak. - very good value for money. - helpful staff speaking good English (which is not the case in Turkey, even in the hotels). - good breakfast, although not too varied. - very good internet connection.
Review 100:the lift did not go to 6th floor where we stayed and a room window opened to corridor.
Review 101:food and restaurants in Izmir are great the weather was good and city is clean inside hotel was an art gallery
Review 102:Room can be more comfortable and staff more welcoming. No bed's cover Номер мог бы быть более уютным, а персонал более любезным (улыбки дежурные). Нет пододеяльников, только тонкие покрывала
Review 103:Big hotel. Price is rather low, room is good. Location is close to center. Rich breakfast for this type of hotel. A lot of places for parking. Good hotel for this price! Большой отель. Цена невысокая, номер хороший. Расположен близко к центру - набережной. Разнообразный завтрак для этой категории. Много парковочных мест. Хорошее соотношение цена-качество
Review 104:Not a so comfortable mattress. No cover sheets for the night, just a light very clean white blanket.
Review 105:Friendly and very polite staff. Fairly good breakfast. Very clean facility. Location fairly good. Great value!
Review 106:The staff was not really polite and the receptionist made a remark that I found annoying. It is pretty close to everything we wanted to visit but the neighbourhood itself isn't much to look at.
Review 107:Big, comfortable, room. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Review 108:The price on booking was calculated into TL with a poor currency rate
Review 109:hotel has free parking garage The room was clean and well equipped The breakfast was awesome, the best of the cities we visited on our trip around Turkey It's close enough to the city center
Review 110:The value of the hotel for the money spent was excellent. The staff were friendly -- if pressed to be. Acted as if they would rather NOT talk or communicate with us but... they did.
Review 111:Window opened on a roof facing another building. Had to sleep with windows closed. Also street on one side somewhat rough but the other street was OK.
Review 112:Location was good for my purpose and the price was also right. Maids very thorough. Cleanliness - strong point. Staff was helpful. Good breakfast. Wifi not bad. Funny decor.
Review 113:Tricky to find on foot in busy area.
Review 114:Great halfway between a boring international hotel and full Turkish. Good breakfast in decorative ground floor area.
Review 115:Breakfast was good but one of the chicken slice was not fresh.
Review 116:They gave every guest has a surprise. They upgrade our room to a honeymoon suite room. The room was big and the bed was also big, clear and soft. Location was good, 5 minutes walk from the train station. Many restaurant and hotel in that street.
Review 117:Maybe just unlucky but room next to some vibration source that ran all night. Trying hard to be boutique but still significant work to get there.
Review 118:wonderful staff , very friendly, excellent breakfast
Review 119:I'd prefer a bathroom with a separate shower, rather than a shower/bath - I find stepping out of these quite hazardous.
Review 120:The location, just off the main street from station to waterfront, was excellent. The train station, Basmane, just 200m away, serves Ephesus/Selcuk and the main airport A. Menderes (ADB) with a hourly/2 hourly service. The waterfront and its ferries are a short walk further in the opposite direction. The hotel itself displays a lot of aquariums! Even an aviary. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 121:The front desk staff were unfriendly to say the least, they made it seem as if it were a hassle to check us in and when asked for a pharmacy in the area their reply was a short "don't know". The room was also incredibly noisy at night even though we were on the 4th floor, it felt like we were sleeping on the street.
Review 122:the hotel is well designed with plush interiors.
Review 123:Room service only till 10pm, perhaps a simple sandwich menu can be made available from 10pm to 6am?
Review 124:I loved the halva & turkish delight at the breakfast buffet, well thought out bathroom with ample hooks and space for toiletry bags etc. The hotel is very well located and the rooms are very comfortable.
Review 125:It would be perfect if the room was a bit bigger.
Review 126:Excellent location (close to Basmane Stasion), friendly and helpful staff, very clean and modern room (well equipped), good breakfast, free hot refresments 24/7, reasonable price. Spacious and beautifully decorated public areas. I would stay in this hotel again.
Review 127:Some rooms can be quite noisy just make sure you ask for a quiet room if you are a light sleeper.
Review 128:The hotel is basically 5 minutes away from Basmane metro and train station. You can reach the airport in about 45 mins, go to the pier in about 5 mins by taxi or 15 mins if you walk slowly. The staff are extremely nice and quickly attend to your needs. I ordered breakfast in my room and was pleasantly surprised to see it delivered in less than 10 mins on a Sunday after 9 am when it was really busy downstairs. I once again enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel.
Review 129:was not easy to reach the hotel since the name mentioned on the sign was Park Hotel. I reached the hotel and still wasnt sure that was the one. The safe box in the room was old fashioned. The AC was so noisy. It would be appreciated if they add more Arabic TV channels. Breakfast venue was a bit small.
Review 130:The location, variety of breakfast. Friendliness of the concierge man who escorted me to the room Sorry forgot his name.
Review 131:Only for consistent customer's they have to apply a special rate for the Marble exhibition date; so that we are not hunting to change our hotel
Review 132:Amazing hotel in the great location! 5 mins walking from the metro station! Close to many shops, main bazaar, Clock Tower, sea side. The breakfast was wonderful! Staff is very helpful. In general I would rate this hotel the highest, it's really good value for money! everyday I come to Izmir I am staying in oglakcioglu boutique 10 years in a row.
Review 133:Wifi is sometimes a bit unstable, but no problem on the whole.
Review 134:Good location near Basmane metro and train stations. Friendly staff. Nice facilities. Buffet breakfast has rich selection of items. The evening set dinner menu which changes every day is nice and good value for money, at only 32 TL. Would consider using it again if I go to Izmir in future.
Review 135:It was my best experience in turkey. The staff and the owner (Ibrahim) was very coperative. They make you feel like home. They even let us cook in their kitchen. And it was raining when we check out, so they droped us to the bus stand. The really care about there guests.. ☺
Review 136:Best location just at city centre, really lovely and helpful staffs. The room was clean, with comfort bed. The breakfast was the best part! It is definitely worth staying!
Review 137:not enough light in the rooms especially at night, there are just side lights. but the biggest issue was the chap we encountered at checkout, who was a little pushy and insisted that we give them an "excellent" rating on booking.com. he even showed us a laminated piece of paper instructing us how to do it, and kept telling us how the hotel wants to reach the highest rating. what business is that of ours? if I do give my opinion, it will be an honest one. plus I would by lying if I said that the hotel falls into the category of "excellent"...it's good, perhaps "very good" at a stretch, and that's about it. The hotel is located in a side street, with no view and no potential of becoming a big player like the swissotel etc. normally I would not even mention these minor drawbacks, but they should be happy as a good, solid mid-range hotel and work on providing an excellent service (which for the most part they do) and making suggested improvements to get to this highest rating, rather than trying to bully customers into rating them as "excellent".
Review 138:pleasant staff and some of them are very helpful. it is about a 20 minute walk from the downtown where all the sights are. still, the boulevards of izmir are nice and wide so it was not a problem. there is a large park a few minutes walk away. breakfast had a nice spread but instead of so many varieties of olive and cheese perhaps they could give a few more egg or hot dishes instead. the room (double) was spacious and clean. the bathroom was fine, and the shower was powerful and hot. car parking was very useful and efficient.
Review 139:sometimes the WIFI doesnt work very well . The room is kind of cold
Review 140:The morning staff is very nice. The shower is very power. Location is excellent close to the station.
